Change the mailto: link Outlook Desktop for Windows 8 Mail app

After you have installed Office 365 in Windows 8, the desktop version of Outlook took the "mailto:" links from other applications and Web sites. I want to continue to use the Windows 8 Mail application. Is it possible to change this setting?

1. move your pointer to the bottom left of the screen, right-click and then select Control Panel then select default programs.

2. Select set your default program settings.

3. Select the mail on the left.

4. Select set this program as default.

5. click on OK.

For the Mail app this only associates the mailto: Protocol. It does not send an email page/link for the e-mail application.

  • How can I move all the folders in Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail?

    Bought a new computer with Windows Home, how can I move the folders of Outlook Express in Windows XP SP3 in Windows Live Mail? Thanks for your help.

    Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For Messages:

    Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

    In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

    In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

    Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

    Open the Contacts list in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

    Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

    For the account settings:

    In OE: Tools | Accounts, select the account and export it to the desktop. This will be an .iaf file. Copy it to the new computer and WLMail desktop: tools | Accounts and import the settings from the location you saved the.

  • during the transition from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail, is the address book data stored and also the info in files

    I'm afraid that if I upgrade the form Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail, I will lose all e-mail addresses in my address book current as well as the information contained in the files - models etc.

    If you install WLMail on your XP machine, it has to import messages and addresses automatically and nothing will be lost of OE.

    If you like WLMail better than OE, you are a person better than I am.

  • Oracle 9i + Java: change the channel encoding UTF-16 for Windows-1251

    Ladies and gentlemen,
    I have a very urgent case: need to change the encoding of the string retrieved from the file (with the UTF-16 encoding) for Windows-1251 and put it in the db table, the CLOB field.

    The Java function code
    -----
    + file2table public static Sub (sql String, String fileName, String characterSet, int asByteArray) throws SQLException, IOException {+
    Con connection = null;
    Writer writer = null;
    Reader reader = null;
    + try {+
    con = getConnection().
    PreparedStatement ps = con.prepareStatement (sql);

    reader = new InputStreamReader (new buffer (new FileInputStream (new File (fileName))), characterSet);
    BufferedReader BR = new BufferedReader (reader);
    String ^ s;
    + While ((s = br.readLine ())! = null) {+
    Byte [] defaultBytes = s.getBytes (characterSet);
    String win1251str = new String (defaultBytes, "windows-1251" ');

    + if(asByteArray>0) {+
    ps.setBytes (1, defaultBytes);
    + / ps.setBytes (1, win1251str.getBytes("windows-1251")); +
    +} else {+
    ps.setString (1 s);
    +}+
    ps.executeUpdate ();
    +}+
    con.Commit ();
    +} Finally {+
    + if (reader! = null) {reader.close () ;} +}
    + If (con! = null) {con. Close ;} +
    +}+
    +}+
    -----

    I've been checking, all the bytes correctly received file. But if I put some bytes in the database table, the result in the table text is broken.

    You prepare your unnecessarily complicated code, and you formatted as it look like sh * t.
    Just read the file with

    BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream(fileName), characterSet));

    Do not use getBytes() anywhere.
    Do not use

    new String(defaultBytes, "windows-1251");

    any where.

    If you intend to write the entire file in a single clob (now, you seem to be written each line of file in their own line of database), look instead of the setCharacterStream method and simply write characters directly here.

    You need Outlook to access the data file, and as configeration is not supported on a network, we recommend not to do

  • Shortcut on the desktop for Windows Defender

    Hello. I have Windows 7 starter on my netbook and want to create a shortcut on the desktop for Windows Defender. However, it does not appear as a program in the start menu and the option to display the control panel more big or small icons is greyed out (i.e., not available in starter edition), I don't see the program on the control panel or the other. The only way I can get to it is to type in 'Defender' in the search field in the start menu or the search field on the control panel. Although one of these actions will locate Windows Defender, they do not provide me the ability to create a shortcut for the application. I tried searching in Program Files on the C drive and found him, but did not know which file right-click on the folder to create a shortcut file. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

    Second, Windows Defender is updated analysis scheduled around 02:00 every morning, but my computer isn't on then, I expect to do a scan automatically the next day when I turned the computer back on. He did not do that and always displays the last analysis as being the manual I did the day before. Is it possible to get auto-start if it misses its slot 02,00 regular?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

    Thank you both for responding: I did click right and do drag the thing like that seemed simpler and it worked: thank you. Are you able to let me know how to get the Defender to make an auto scan when I turn on the computer if it misses its slot 02,00?

    Thank you.

Is it possible to make the trade more to change the license in version iMac for a small fee. Otherwise, I can partition the hard drive in the iMac and install windows and also photoshop elements? A license of Photoshop Elements is good for Mac and Windows, it should be just a matter of download the Mac version and using your serial number to activate it.
