Change the properties of files and folders

I recently changed the computer name and administrator, but I can't delete properties of former directors, i.e. name of files and folders. How can I do this?

Where in poperties are you talking about?  Here is the list of authorized users - security and if you are looged Admin everything you need to do is click on edit and select another administrator, and then click on delete and it's done.  I don't think that this deletion process can be done throughout the world - and if is not necessary as this other account administrator is no longer eistss or has been disabled.  You should already be added to the Administrators group so that your username does not need to be added for access.

If this isn't security, where are you talking about?  What are the 'properties' belong to the former administrator.  I don't understand.  Could you please further explain and tell me exactly how to get to the screen you are talking about?  In addition, please explain what you are tyring to accomplish by doing this - what is the problem with the other 'properties' of the administrator that you need to remove the name and I guess only to insert your new name?

Thank you!

I discovered that a VMS VMDK files have a different name for the virtual machine itself, then someone changed the name of the virtual machine after you have created the records

I had to do it a few times, will try to document the process that I follow.  If you have many warehouses of data, then make a note of what data store, the machine is in.  The next step is to unregister the virtual machine from vCenter / ESXi

Then, you need to enable SSH on your ESXi host

Use Putty or something similar for you connect to the ESXi host

Run the following commands (in italics)

cd vmfs/volumes / that is, if the data store that contains the virtual computer is named datastore1 then you would run cd/vmfs/volumes/datastore1

Then run ls to verify that the virtual machine file is here

Rename the folder by using mv

Change to the folder with cd

Rename the nvram, vmsd, vmx and running again is to say the mv

    MV oldname.vmsd newname.vmsd

    MV oldname.vmx newname.vmx

    Hello

    ·          Were there any changes made to the computer until the problem occurred?

    ·          Have you tried right click and check the context Menu?

    ·          This happens for any particular folder?

    Step 1:

You can check if the same thing happens in a new user account. To create a new user account

  • Can I globally change the names of files and or directory to lowercase to uppercase?

in Windows XP or in Windows 7, globally change the names of files and or directory to lowercase to uppercase?

A single configuration change probably will not accomplish this.

Your best bet is probably the freeware "Bulk Rename Utility" program which has a section dedicated to change the case of file names.

  • Error message "Access denied" on the sharing of files and folders on a dual-boot computer.

    I have a Dual Boot PC - the two Windows 7 Home Premium - one 32-bit, 64-bit.

If I try to access files created in the 32-bit system to the 64-bit system, I get "Access Denied" errors. This is extremely annoying as its my PC, my data, my everything!

The only way to solve the problem seems to be to give all permissions to "Everyone", but then I get my parcel Internet Security complain bitterly that my PC is now open to piracy because I gave "Everyone" full access permissions.

I searched the Web and Microsoft, but I never seem to find exactly what I'm looking for; part of my search text seems to have more weight than another. For example, I add "in the system to dual-boot" and I get links to creating a dual boot system.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to grant permissions to access 32-bit system folder to the main user on the 64 bit system, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you very much.

  • Is it possible to change the font color in the names of files and folders?

In general, blue file/folder names mean that the files or folders are compressed by Windows to save disk space.

Before I upgraded to Windows 7, I had a wonderful program on my XP machine called Xentient labels, which have changed the windows explore interface so I could have any icon file or folder on any drive highlighted in any color I want, as with Macintosh.  As a blind person it is very important to me and helps me organize and find things faster.
Can anyone recommend any software that could do this for Windows 7, please?    Thanks for any help or advice!

  • Disable/turn off the auto arrange files and folders?

does anyone know how to disable auto arrange? I love being organsised and organize my files in the folders for my taste. I could do it with vista and other windows before Windows 7. can anyone help? is microsoft aware of this problem and they do anything?

1 right-click anywhere on your desktop and choose View > Auto Arrange icons

2 make sure that it is there no check mark next to Auto Arrange icons

This works only on the desktop, but not in the display of records, Freak05. The menu option that you're referring to can be reported in the views folder, but only with a registry hack that I noticed earlier. • My files and folders was hidden, but the capacity is still got it!

Hello members! I had a very big problem.

When my friend has borrowed my USB Flash drive to use and inserted, he saw my files and folders has been detected and changed everything in folders and shortcuts files. I was surprised and security he took.

I returned home, I turned on my netbook and I inserted just now used, I cleaned only had viruses, worms and Trojan horses with the help of 360 Antivirus (Chinese version). After that, when I open my USB Flash drive, it is EMPTY! I was very sad and I saw he still have in the capacity bar! I think it was hidden all of my files and folders, but I activated the hidden files and folders to see and always empty! How do I do?

Pls help me! I really want to solve this problem!

I tried to unchecked "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" and it works! I saw all this including my files and folders. Thanks riri! : D

And I got a question too. If my files and folders are doubly hidden, how do I remove it to normal as disable 'Hidden' in the properties of files and folders? I have seen that the 'hidden' was unable to check/uncheck in the properties.

    Open a prompt (cmd.exe) window

Assuming F:\ is the USB flash drive, use this command:

    ATTRIB S H R F:\*.*

    Press {ENTER}

This will remove the SYSTEM, HIDDEN AND READONLY attribute affects all files in the root directory of the USB stick.

-Why? The original maps are now damaged or infected with a virus that hides the original maps and has been copied on the face down card, so you will only see the files of shortcuts with the same file name.

    8. Once you have retrieved all your files, so be sure to remove the hidden shortcut folder.
