  I know that your frustrations!  I have the same preference, it is currently not possible - but there is an update on its way (you can search for information on - it is called 8.1 Windows or blue Windows) which allows you to put photos or whatever behind the Windows 8 UI splash screen.  Update should be soon maybe some time this summer - August.

  well, I'm sorry I was looking and looking and I am little overwhelmed by the amount of information and the amount of places to look.

  I have a HP G60 notebook PC series, and it starts fine except when there is a cd or dvd in the drive. He's trying to start windows from cd or dvd, because he says that 'no bootable disk '. so I open the drive, turn on/off the on/off switch, and it starts very well as usual. No matter if I empty the hard drive and close it again or not.

  I would like the computer to always boot from the hard drive, but I can't find where this option is to change. This problem start occurs when I am restarting off or hibernation mode, and CD/DVD were the two left on break or just next door, as with or without executing the program cd or dvd. My husband said that I simply had to change the settings, but how do I do this? Thanks for any help.

  Enter the BIOS by pressing the F10 key immediately after power on. Look for the Startup tab where you can set the hard drive as first boot device. Save and exit.

  Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  We cannot guide you more precisely by changing the BIOS settings that the BIOS settings are specific to your motherboard.  However, most (if not all) parameters of the BIOS have an option to restore the default BIOS (sometimes called "default opitimized").  It may be an option in the menu that you highlight, then press enter or it can be assigned to an F key and States at the bottom of the screen, press F? for the default settings.  I hope this helps.  If you are still not able to reset, check with the manufacturer of PC for more information about the BIOS.   Open Acrobat Reader DC, navigate to the Edit-> Preferences-> Page Display menu-> set your required Zoom percentage.

  Click OK to confirm the change.

  Restart the Acrobat Reader DC to test.

  Could a right click on the PDF file > open with > choose program by default and select CD player as default PDF Viewer.

  You can do it from the control panel as well.

  This would make CD player as default PDF Viewer.
