character animator: create puppets

I'm doing a lip with a file sync HAVE 'flying pig' I downloaded Adobe stock. I thought that in the way groups name change I could create a puppet. Is there a way to help in getting the correct records with an existing image?

Jeff

He responds by my phone and had no time to research, but buy you by typing "character animator" in the search can help field at the top right of the AE.  You can also find tutorials by searching the Adobe communities. Character animator tutorials

  • Creating a character from scratch in Photoshop - can not move arms/legs separately in character animator?

For the first time creating a character from scratch in Photoshop, and I can't do the arms and legs move separately from the body. When I click on one arm and drag, whole body stretches with her. I already copied the structure of exact file of the buddy "photoshop" model, but always without success. The face works fine, I can do blink and make the movements of the mouth. It's just the body with that I have problems. Any thoughts? Here is a screenshot of my layers in Photoshop and below is a screenshot of the puppet character animator properties.

Usually, it's because it's think mistakenly that the arms and body are interconnected like a mesh somehow. Try clicking on 'Show the mesh' in the toolbar at the bottom, and then select the layers - the triangles overlap only in the art of character, or white spots? If it's over white spots, as well as between the body and the arm, so you can check and delete / erase any trace of problem.

Another thing to try is in the right panel under properties of the puppet, try to set the Mesh outline instead of Auto shape. It's another way to look at the stitch which sometimes does not take into account such issues.

  • How you properly structure layers in Illustrator to create character animator keyboard triggers?

How you properly structure layers in Illustrator to create character animator keyboard triggers? I was able to trigger several layers are displayed, but after the first layer, I lose the ability to control the eyes, eyebrows, etc.  The tutorials have for example Photoshop, but there is none for illustrator.  I work in illustrator and would not have to move around with Photoshop.

    Thank you, Mark.

When you configure multiple views puppets (that is, by pressing keyboard triggers to switch to profile/quarter views), you need to adapt the behavior of the Face and behavior of lip sync (if do lip sync), the puppet of top level down to the individual view subpuppets. For your work or any other configured in this way, follow these steps:

    1. In the project Panel, select the puppet.
    2. In the properties panel, remove the face and Lip Sync behaviors.
    3. Double-click the puppet to open it in the Panel of the puppet.
    4. Whirlpool open character > subpuppet Chief (in your example) so you can see the layers view subpuppet.
    5. Select all the layers in view subpuppet (in your case, currently, before and on the right side).
    6. Add the behaviors of face and Lip Sync in the add behavior menu ('+ ') in the properties panel. This allows you to adjust the settings on a view-by-view basis.

Now, that you trigger different views, your facial expressions and speech can still control the character's face.

  • How to combine character animator with movement sequences after effects puppet?

Hey community! I hope that everyone is having a good day/night

So I used successfully the facial recognition to my really cool talking characters with character animator, and I intend to do the rest of the artwork of the puppet/movement/scene in After Effects, but...

After I imported the scene in After Effects, I noticed that I have no control over the assets any longer, and the composition is just the stage with none of the layers... If After Effects will play the scene and I would exprt but that's all.

How can I combine puppets of the face of the host character with puppets and gestural stage with After Effects? My guess is that my workflow control is false. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I did it by creating an image file separated with everything except the head and then using this second file to animate in Ae.

It's easy enough to create the second body file (I use Photoshop) by dragging the layers appropriate to the library. It should also be possible to use the library in Ae.

This works well for me and so far seems more flexible.

  • Dangle outside the character animator

I do an animation with several female characters Rigged and the puppets of sequels and I was wondering if there is a way to make their hair and dresses to react to the movement when they bob their head it sinks and bounces in place or their dress looks not completely stiff. The Dangle effect in host character does it perfectly, but my character rigs are a little too complex to be inside for most of my stuff. See: make your first character (character animator Tutorial Adobe) - YouTube is a tool or an equation that would create this illusion of physics? I know that I can if I get off at keyframes and tweak with each movement, but if there is a simpler way, that would save a ton of time.

    Thanks in advance.

AE has not built in physics. You will need to buy the Newton plug 2. otherwise the effects of distortion as Bézier and, of course, the puppet tool can treat some of these things and are not necessarily need a lot of keyframes. Well heard all sorts of expressions can help as well, but this would require to know the exact structure of your project.

  • How to create puppets in Photoshop and other Adobe software? [Was: can someone help me?]

Photoshop World.I am an old newbie, not a digital technology or computer technology, just a tired photographer retired. In collaboration with Adobe software that is loaded on the system and a new computer a few weeks ago. I have only one goal. To create puppets in PS, AF and me. I've seen many, many hours of tutorials. Here, all the greats, but they assume that the viewer knows what is being discussed. I read a lot of PDF on Adobe applications. But I am now so confused as to what I have to start in the direction. In the 1960s, when I started my photography, I at least knew how to load the dam film in the camera.

My plan was: create a unique original puppet. Give him all possible functionality available. Practice, practice all summer. In the fall I will be asked to take the kids basic art work and turn them into custom puppets.

Old age, taught me a good lesson. If you need help, ASK.

    Thank you

    Bob

    Puppets?

Not sure that Photoshop is the appropriate application. Can explain in more detail what you are trying to create. It of an animation or you want something printed on a 3D printer or what?

VRAM is not so critical (although more is better, if you create characters with dimensions in pixels wide). What is more important: he must support of OpenGL 3.2.

  • How to import audio data in character animator?

Hi, I'm trying to use character animator to automate the movement of the mouth of my videos of stop motion.  I figured out how I wanted to set up the mouths and everything, but I can't import my voice on audio file into the project.  Could you please tell me how to import an audio file in the host for the lip sync?  Is this posible or you save the application (which is very annoying).

    Thank you for your time,

    Justin nifong

You can import the audio as you import any file (File/Import)

Then drag it to the stage, select the puppet desired, then go to object/calculation Lip Sync of Audio scene

  • Ready for character animation... To start from scratch or use the template?

    Hey everybody!

First of all... I'm so amazed with character animation. Good job Adobe!

I have a children's music group called 'Panda Party' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1HDW1Q-H-c

Up to now, everything has been based costume, but now with the amazing launch of animation character I can now start to do complete cartoons.

I have just completed all the elements separated from the parts of the body, forms of mouth, eye flashes etc one of the character 'Penny Panda' ready to make my first cartoon character. I used the basic model of puppet character animation in photoshop and began to move the layers where they should be. Unfortunately, even if the head has been correct at first... as I moved forward a lot of elements was incorrect, eyes were not suite and locations of shape and the body of the original puppet eyes threw a lot!

With something like this you would tell completely from scratch, and rename elements of an original rather than a puppet template file? And if so is it as simple as just the final layered psd correctly named imported puppet and animation character will be ready?

Or y at - it another puppet model more suited to this type of bodywork that I start with?

Thank you Adobe! Can't wait to start rolling on our news with the new characters

    KOB

    penny panda.jpg

Hi Kob... If your character does not have the views of profile/quarter for the head, you had to be able to use the model of default puppet (new puppet in Photoshop / Illustrator), but if you have multiple views, Wendigo as described Jerry would be a good idea to follow. Alternatively, you can boot from your original artwork and group/rename layers as needed.

When you use any existing puppet (Wendigo, model by default, etc.) model, you want to make sure to spend all handles for Fixed/Dangle/etc. to suitable locations based on your artwork, so that they are not above the empty parts of the document.

If you are still experiencing difficulties to achieve usable results, feel free to post a screenshot of your work layer hierarchy or a shareable link to your work file to look at us.

    Thank you.

  • Where can I find a reference guide for the Adobe character animation?

I use Adobe recently - character animation (amazing stuff)

There are so many different options during the creation of the characters. i.e. flashing or having the host track your eyelids so half, you can close your eyes, etc...

One thing that I can't find a reference to these options anywhere.

that is how to set up your .psd file to make it work. So far I am using other characters as a model, then creating my character inside the psd.

Its running OK but there are features that I discover even exist as the eyelids half-closed until I opened a character for example.

    There are references?

  • Character animator error AIF/OpenGL. Update drivers does not. With the help of Intel HD 3000.

What should I do? I have my drivers up to date with the latest versions of 2015 and I still get the problem as soon as I click a puppet (which of course does not show). Is this in relation to my video card?

I run Windows 7 Edition home premium SP1, Intel Core i7 2.2 GHz, 8 GB of Ram, Nvidia GeForce 610 M 2 GB video card. Record video adapter in the image.Video.PNG

    I fixed it!

So, you make the default memory Nvidia GPU.

To do this, go to your desktop and right click anywhere on it.

Select 'Nvidia Control Panel' and you will be prompted with this window (Yes, it's in Italian, just look at the buttons)

Then, go to 'Program settings' and click on the Add button. Choose Animation character from the list and click Ok or whatever your button on your right at the bottom.

    Then:

    1. you will see that the host of character is selected.

    2. now select the bar below "Nvidia processor high performance.

Last important thing: press on apply on the bottom right.

You should be good to go now!

IF THE CONTROL PANEL GIVES YOU THE ERROR "ACCESS DENIED":

    1. If you are using a laptop computer, go here

    Driver GeForce Hotfix 353.00

Choose the 32-bit version or 64-bit, download the drivers and install them.

    2. If you are using a desktop computer, go here

    NVIDIA - Drivers download

    and do the same thing

It could be that these versions are older than what you have installed, but they do not give the issue "access denied."

It is everything I could find and it works for me, character animator goes perfectly.

Do you mean having a character another glance on the side but still be controllable via webcam or a microphone? If so, check out the project from character animator examples (character host examples) and specifically the puppet of Wendigo in '02. Scene from wendigo. You can switch between views with keys 1, 2, 3, 4, and always use the webcam and the microphone to control the character.

  • Single line since illustrator styles do not appear in the character animator

I noticed that when you use the options of single path (variable width) in Illustrator, they only transfer via character animator. Instead, it is just the path of uniform baseline. I have some screenshots below. I also noticed that when when you unique forms, curves become more angular when sent to the host of character. Should I stick to basic shapes, or is there something I'm missing when recording?

You can also do without involving the parts folder (which is hidden in Preview 2) by selecting any layer of the skin in the Panel of the puppet: double-click the puppet to open it in the Panel of the puppet and spin then groups subpuppet open until you see any layer of the skin (gray square icon). Select it and this same option 'Show as Image' will be displayed in the properties panel.

  • Gradient import does not to the character animator

I have a gradient in Adobe Illustrator and that they do not import into host character.

So, if my lips have a darker color on the outside and highlights in the Middle, just a single color.

Similar with my eyes, I had the white of the eyes with a slight slope to make them appear round.

Nor imported into the host character. ! !

Not all features of Illustrator currently translate vector illustrations by character animator.

For illustration Illustrator, you can use the checkbox 'Show as Image' in the Panel properties for making exactly like Illustrator, but you will lose the characteristics of the vector (like the mode of earthquake).

    * Double-click on the puppet to open it in the Panel of the puppet

    * Select any layer of the work (shaded area) in the view of the puppets Panel outline

    * Check the box "Display as an Image" in the properties panel.

  • Character animation move independently

    Hello

I have experience with character animation and a problem I've never seen elsewhere. All mobile work and what is not, but the head seems to be moving on its own and jerks back. I don't know what I do to cause this problem. I have closed and reopened the project upwards as well as restarted the system.

    Please see this video

    For more explanations

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

I think that if you turn on the strength of the eyelid to 0% that it will fix this. If your character is not a State of blinking, you will get a few eyelid strange distortion like this. Let me know if that suits him...
