Characters don't talk to Hoyle Card Games

I use Hoyle Card Games 2008 on my XP OS; older HP desktop computer.  The characters went silent most of the time.  We see them talk, but do not hear, but from time to time, I hear a comment of their own.

I tried to adjust the "chatty" option, but that doesn't change anything.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall.  When I began the program, it still had my name in it as a player.  I wonder if there are system/user files I should be deleting too to get a really clean start with the game?  Or is it rather a problem of driver or system file?  Thanks for any input.

I found a solution to this problem by updating the driver for the Realtek Audio device on my computer.  For those who seek else to do this, here's the location on C-Net for a downloadable update for free:

It worked like a charm for me... Can hear what all the characters say now.
