Oracle forms/reports 12 c | Items on the Start Menu
Hi guys
I installed and configured Oracle weblogic 12 c (12.2.1), forms, and reports 12 c (Professional 64-bit Windows 10, 16 GB RAM, i7 processor platform) and be able to start the server administration Weblogic, wls_forms (wls_reports not yet configured). The only element of start menu, I could see as shown below with the image
I'm not sure what exactly I missed during installation and configuration (Oracle® Fusion Middleware, installation Oracle Forms and Reports, 12 c (12.2.1), E66264-01) for the installation and configuration. Please help me
Kind regards
Did you follow that?
Steps in order:
- Ensure that the machine has the static IP address (or the loopback installed and configured adapter for Windows)
- 8 RAM minimum concert
- Open a shell (DOS) and set the PATH to include the JDK (8U51 + 64 - bit) first in the list
- In the shell, run the WLS installation program and follow the instructions: java-jar fmw_12.2.1.0.0_infrastructure.jar
- Run forms and reports 12.2.1 installer
- Run the RCU THAT found in C:\Oracle\Middleware12\Oracle_Home\oracle_common\bin
- Run the configuration (config) (if on Windows, do not forget the shell has administrator privileges) (C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Home\oracle_common\common\bin)
- With a shell with administrator privileges, start Node Manager (startNodeManager) and then start Admin Server (startWebLogic) (C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Home\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin)
Once the servers have been launched successfully, the configuration will complete automatically. This process also ends configurations required by design tools, the server startup if necessary to complete the steps. They can be stopped if you are simply interested in examining the Builder (s), but obviously will not be able to run anything, if the servers do not work.
I hope that between this overview and documentation, almost everyone should be able to get a good start.

Can I ask what's happened on the Oracle Forms forum, after reading it for 20-odd years it seems to have disappeared?
I just get a message saying that the makers of the element do not exist, it can havbe been deleted when you try to access the page to:
TIA
Ady
Ady,
Apparently the people who helped create this software was last updated forum decided to restructure the many places as well as simply a change of software...
... but could not be bothered to document changes, they went to the URL for the new locations.
FORMS are always, like REPORTS.
They were buried at the following locations tree:
All locations > Database > Oracle + Options database > SQL and PL/SQL > PL/SQL application development

How to install and run on 64-bit windows8 oracle forms?
Hi all
I am a newbie in Oracle forms and I want to install oracle forms in my laptop with the aim of learning and training.
I tried installing Oracle forms 10 g 2, but am not able to run the forms because I'm stuck at the frm-92101 error which I am not able to delete even after many changes made to the formsweb.cfg file (as suggested by the bias on the internet). Recently I learned that this version of forms is not certified (or compatible, I suppose) with windows 8.
So I would ask all the people of genius out there that what should be the version of things so that they work on windiws8 64-bit following:
(a) in oracle forms
(b) jinitiator
(c) java
(d) browser(preferably firefox)
Thanks in advance!
Hey guys!
The problem is now solved!
The problem was in my form. I was using ' RWIDGET. TURN_OFF/on('Block.Item') ' to disable/enable any any element. Although I attaching me the corresponding libraries but some how it created a problem. Once I replaced it with the built in 'SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('Block.Item',Enabled,Property_true/false)' in my entire form, the error disappeared

Hello world
He is an example for adding records in this block. I need to add the values of the quantity of each time when it has updated. Entering the first record(value=5) the total should display 5. When you enter the second value(value=6) the total should be 11. And if it changes in accounts are rendered already entered the total value must be updated. Please help me do this in oracle forms.
Hey, Moris,.
For the contents according to your requirement, create a block and put an element contained in this block that reside on the same canvas.
Then below mentioned property BLOCK for newly created block:
- Single disc: Yes
Then set below mentioned ELEMENT of property for the newly created item:
- Data type: number
- Method of calculation: 'summary '.
- Text-to-speech function: "sum".
- Block in summary: block that you created
- Point summary: Point you have created
I hope it will work for you, I tested and works great.

A function can be called record group - Oracle Form 6i.
Hi all
I want to create query based LOV in Oracle Form 6i.
The query I have use of the record group is as follows:
SELECT DISTINCT
Nr.rec_locator AS rec_locator,
car.car_dte AS car_date,
Get_car_info(:CON.) REF_NO) AS car_number
Car_list_entries CAR
contact_details cdt,
name_records nr
WHERE car.car_id = cdt.car_id
AND cdt.nr_id = nr.id
AND cdt.con_ref_no =: CON. REF_NO
/ * Get_car_info (x NUMBER) is a function of form * /.
This generates an error:
It is said
FRM-12001 (impossible to create the Group Record (check your query)
Kindly guide how can I use the function of form to achieve the desired result.
Thank you very much
Anoop.
Hi Anoop,
I can assure you that the issue is not because of the called function of the record group.
I used the query showing the value of the function; but one thing you should keep in mind is:
If you create a new item not related in a based lov to sql expression that
return a character data type, and if the element related to the used in the function
is generated with a size of 0, then the item not related is generated
with a size of 4000 and a compilation of the form failed with error FRM-30187
the solution to this problem is: lov property > column specification > columns one will be having a greater length and 2000 it set its 2000 which is the maximum value. Then it won't work.

Change the mask of the executing (Oracle forms 6i) date field format
Hello
I use Oracle forms 6i. I have a domain where I use to store dates. I need to change the format mask of this date the runtime field.
Y at - it no set_item_property built in that I can use to achieve this?
Kind regards

Published by: 1009523 on June 3, 2013 11:11Part 2, help information on the Format mask item property; you will need to make sure that you set the property correctly.
Sorry, I had to drill two answers but my first attempt surpassed the eligible characters in an answer ;-)
Format Mask property Description Specifies the display format and input accepted for data in text items. Applies to text item Set Form Builder, programmatically Refer to Built-in n GET_ITEM_PROPERTY n SET_ITEM_PROPERTY Required/Optional optional Usage Notes Valid format masks for character strings, numbers and dates are described in the following tables. Character Strings The following table describes valid format masks for character strings. Element Example Description FM FMXX99 Fill mode: accept string as typed, do not right justify. Allows end user input string to be shorter than the format mask. X XXXX Any alphabetic, numeric, or special character. End user input string must be exact length specified by format mask. 9 9999 Numeric characters only. End user input string must be exact length specified by format mask. A AAAA Alphabetic characters only. End user input string must be exact length specified by format mask. Character String Examples Format Mask Description XXAA Will accept: --ab, abcd, 11ab; will not accept: --11, ab11, or ab--(must use XX to accept hyphens and other special characters). XXXX Will accept any combination of alphabetic, numeric, or special characters: --ab, abcd, 11ab, --11, ab11, or ab--. Will accept 1234 or abcd; will not accept 123 or abc. (To accept input string shorter than mask, use FMXXXX.) FMXX99 Will accept ab12, ab1, ab followed by two spaces; will not accept 12ab or abcd. (To produce the Form Builder Version 3.0 Alpha datatype, use FMAAAAAA.) n To embed additional characters such as a hyphen (-) or a comma (,), surround the character with double-quotes ("). n Embedded characters are separate from text item values and are not collated along with text item values, even when the end user enters them. NUMBERS The following table describes valid format masks for numbers. Element Example Description 9 9999 Number of nines determines display width. Any leading zeros will be displayed as blanks. 0 0999 Display leading zeros. 0 9990 Display zero value as zero, not blank. $ $9999 Prefix value with dollar sign. B B9999 Display zero value as blank, not "0". MI 9999MI Display "-" after a negative value. PR 9999PR Display a negative value in
. comma 9,999 Display a comma in this position. For correct behavior in multilingual applications, substitute G to return the appropriate group (thousands) separator. period 99.99 Display a decimal point in this position. For correct behavior in multilingual applications, substitute D to return the appropriate decimal separator. E 9.999EEEE Display in scientific notation (format must contain exactly four "E"s). FM FM999 Fill mode: accept string as typed, do not right justify. n When you mask a number with nines (9), Form Builder adds a space in front of the number to accommodate the plus (+) or minus (-) sign. However, since the plus sign is not displayed, it appears as if Form Builder adds a space in front of the number. (The minus sign is displayed.) n To embed additional characters such as a hyphen (-) or a comma (,), surround the character with double-quotes ("). n Embedded characters are separate from text item values and are not collated along with text item values, even when the end user enters them. NUMBER Examples Format Mask Description FM099"-"99"-"9999 Displays the social security number as formatted, including hyphens, even if end user enters only nine digits.To create a Social Security column, create an 11-character column, set to fixed length, with a format mask of 099"-"99"-"9999. This mask will accommodate Social Security numbers that begin with zero, accepting 012-34-5678 or 012345678 (both stored as 012345678). 99999PR Accepts -123; reformats as <123>. 999MI Accepts -678; reformats as 678-. 9.999EEEE Displays as 1.00E+20. How Forms handles length mismatches If a runtime user enters a numeric string that exceeds the format mask specification, the value will be rejected. For example: Format Mask User enters Result 99.9 321.0 Invalid 99.9 21.01 Invalid 99.9 21.1 21.1 99.9 01.1 1.1 In contrast, if a numeric value fetched from the database exceeds the format mask specification for its display field, the value is displayed, but truncated, with rounding, to fit the mask. (The item itself within the Forms application retains its full value.) For example, if the database held the value 2.0666, and the format mask was 99.9, the value displayed to the user would be 2.1. However, the value of the item within the form would be the full 2.0666. Dates The following table describes valid format masks for dates. Element Description YYYY or SYYYY 4-digit year; "S" prefixes "BC" date with "-". YYY or YY or Y Last 3, 2, or 1 digits of year. Y,YYY Year with comma in this position. BC or AD BC/AD indicator. B.C. or A.D. BD/AD indicator with periods. RR Defaults to correct century. Deduces the century from a date entered by comparing the 2 digit year entered with the year and century to which the computer's internal clock is set. Years 00-49 will be given the 21st century (the year 2000), and years from 50-99 will be given the 20th century (the year 1900). MM Month (01-12; JAN = 01). MONTH Name of month, padded with blanks to length of 9 characters. MON Name of month, 3-letter abbreviation. DDD Day of year (1-366). DD Day of month (1-31). D Day of week (1-7; Sunday=1). DAY Name of day, padded with blanks to length of 9 characters. DY Name of day, 3-letter abbreviation. J Julian day; the number of days since January 1, 4712 BC. AM or PM Meridian indicator. A.M. or P.M. Meridian indicator with periods. HH or HH12 Hour of day (1-12). HH24 Hour of day (0-23). MI Minute (0-59). SS Second (0-59). SSSSS Seconds past midnight (0-86399). /. , . Punctuation is reproduced in the result. "..." Quoted string is reproduced in the result. FM Fill mode: assumes implied characters such as O or space; displays significant characters left justified. Allows end user input to be shorter than the format mask. (Use in conjunction with FX to require specific delimiters.) FX All date literals must match the format mask exactly, including delimiters. n When you prefix a date mask with FX, the end user must enter the date exactly as you define the mask, including the specified delimiters: Date Examples Format Mask Description FXDD-MON-YY Will accept 12-JAN-94, but will not accept 12.JAN.94 or 12/JAN/94 because the delimiters do not match the mask. Will not accept 12JAN94 because there are no delimiters. Will accept 01-JAN-94 but will not accept 1-JAN-94. FMDD-MON-YY Will accept 01-JAN-94. Will also accept the entry of other delimiters, for example 01/JAN/94 and 01 JAN 94. However, will not accept 01JAN94. Will accept 1-JAN-94, converting it to 01-JAN-94. DD-MON-YY Will accept 12.JAN.94, 12/JAN/94 or 12-JAN-94. Note: Any delimiter characters will be accepted, but if delimiters are omitted by the end user, this mask will interpret date characters as a delimiters. Will accept 12-JAN94, (but will erroneously interpret as 12-JAN-04); but will not accept 12JAN94, because "AN" is not a valid month name. n Use of a format mask only affects how the data looks. Form Builder stores full precision, regardless of how the data is presented. n Embedded characters are separate from text item values and are not collated along with text item values, even when the end user enters them. n To embed additional characters such as a hyphen (-) or a comma (,), surround the character with double-quotes ("). Note, however, that double-quotes themselves cannot be used as a character. In other words, trying to achieve output of DD"MM by specifying a mask of DD"""MM would not work. Format Mask Description FMMONTH" "DD", "YYYY Displays the text item data in the specified date format: JANUARY 12, 1994, including the appropriate blank spaces and comma. FMDD-MONTH-YYYY Displays as 12-JANUARY-1994. DY-DDD-YYYY Displays as WED-012-1994. Note: for input validation including day of the week, a mask that allows specific determination of the day is required, such as this example or DY-DD-MM-YY. n When you use day of the week formats, be sure that the data includes day of the week information. To avoid illogical masks, display also either the day of the year (1-366) or the month in some format. Format Mask Description DD-MONTH-YYYY Displays as 12-JANUARY-1994. DY-DDD-YYYY Displays as WED-012-1994. DY-DD-MON-YY Displays as WED-12-JAN-94. Be sure to include month. Avoid masks such as DY-DD-YY, which could generate an error. NLS Format Masks The following table describes valid National Language Support (NLS) format masks. Element Example Description C C999 Returns the international currency symbol. L L9999 Returns the local currency symbol. D 99D99 Returns the decimal separator. G 9G999 Returns the group (thousands) separator. comma 9,999 Displays a comma in this position. period 9.999 Displays a decimal point in this position. Displays a decimal point in this position. NLS Format Mask Examples Format Mask Description L99G999D99 Displays the local currency symbol, group, and decimal separators: if NLS_LANG=American, this item displays as $1,600.00; if NLS_LANG=Norwegian, this item displays as Kr.1.600,00. C99G999D99 Displays the appropriate international currency symbol: if NLS_LANG=American, this item displays as USD1,600.00; if NLS_LANG=French, this item displays as FRF1.600,00. Craig...

How to avoid values double in Oracle forms
Hi all
I am new to Oracle forms, working on Oracle Applications: 12.1.2
Here I have a receipt of Transactions form,
in what I Lot_Number and the amount of columns.
Purchased items must be stored in the batch number.
If 100 quantities purchased then 100 quantities can be stored in the unique batch number
That is to say
or 100 quantities can be stored in different lot numbers.Lot_Number Qty 001 100
That is to say
but not like what follows.Lot_Number Qty 001 50 002 50(The qty may differ)
For the second line, if they chose the same as first batch number batch number,Lot_Number Qty 001 50 001 50.
The error message should be as 'Lot number duplicated, select different batch number or update the quantity full original online'.
Can someone help me solve this problem.
Thank you.
Kind regards
GurujothiThe element of calculation must be the number data type.
In the article, you will see that these elements are added and are not part of the table block elements.François

SEO Oracle Forms program units from a library
Hello
IM using Oracle Forms 10.1.2.0.2. I stated a procedure in several forms that runs a query and then enables or disables certain elements according to the number of occurrences of the query. The procedure is always the same and it is something like this:
PROCEDURE QUERY (prBlock IN VARCHAR2, prQuery IN VARCHAR2) IS
BEGIN
SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY (prBlock, ONETIME_WHERE, prQuery);
GO_BLOCK (prBlock);
EXECUTE_QUERY();
ENABLE_ITEMS (GET_BLOCK_PROPERTY (prBlock, QUERY_HITS) > 0, prBlock);
REQUEST TO END;
Problem is that I want to add this procedure in a library, but I can't find a way to call ENABLE_ITEMS so that each shape activates / deactivates their items appropriate. Is it possible to call a procedure declared in a unit of program forms in a library?
Thank you.Try this
create an ENABLE_ITEMS() with the same parameters of the library, your code can be
Start
null;
end;
the procedure should be exactly in the parameters and types that each of them to each shapeyou compile the library
then attach to the formWhen the library call a procedure forms program units have preference and turn the shape program unit and the ENABLE_ITEMS() of the library is never called

You just change the forms.
Change the data type Date to Datetimeto view a single moment, use the format mask.
Hope this helps

Use of the JRE instead of JInitiator causes problems of development of mouse for Oracle Forms
Hi all
We run Oracle Forms application based using JRE instead of JInititor.
(1) the application is run on an individual laptop with Windows XP SP3 as an operating system.
(2) with the help of oc4j of Oracle Developer Suite 10.2.0.1.0 to run the application
(3) JInititor is more used and JRE version 1.6.0_26 or JRE version 1.6.0_27 used to launch the application. It works very well.
(4) the browsers used to access the applicarion are IE8 and Mozilla Firefox 8.0.1
Questions:
(1) cannot have the focus of the mouse on an item. Even when the cursor seems to be in another element, for example after ctrl + E, point B article content watch editor has (which is the first on the form).
(2) the LOV on any item shows what brings the LOV on section (first one on the form).
(3) we are forced to use the keyboard to access the respective item all the time.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem?
Kind regards
AparnaHELO,
You, normally I think shoud upgrate to the version of forms 10.1.2.3,.

Functioanlity of opening SESSION in Oracle Forms 10g
Form dear gurus,
I need to connect to the DB using Oracle Forms...
So I created 3 text elements for string user and password for connection.
Once you press the button, I use the following code
Logon(:logon_block.) Username: logon_block. PASSWORD | » @' || : logon_block. CONNECT, fALSE);
If form_success then
al_id: = Find_Alert ('WARNING');
Set_Alert_Property (al_id, ALERT_MESSAGE_TEXT, "Connected); -now display the alert
dummy_var: = Show_Alert (al_id);
on the other
al_id: = Find_Alert ('WARNING');
Set_Alert_Property (al_id, ALERT_MESSAGE_TEXT, "Not connected"); -now display the alert
dummy_var: = Show_Alert (al_id);
end if;
Apart from the usr/pwd his success giving only msg...
You please give me your valuable contributions to overcome this problem...
Thank you and best regards,
Durai S EInstead of looking for "success of form", try verifies that you have actually connected. For example:
IF GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY (DATASOURCE) != 'ORACLE' then rtn := SHOW_ALERT ('LOGINFAIL'); -- Do something here ELSE rtn := SHOW_ALERT ('LOGINSUCCESS'); -- Do something here END IF;

How to find the error in oracle forms
Dear gurus,
I am newbie in oracle forms. I have a form with many items. In this regard, certain elements are not met. These elements are filled from four different cursors depending on certain conditions. for example,.
This cursors are written to the database level.IF <condtion1> true then open cursor1; populate all the items from cursor1 columns elsif <condition2>true then open cursor2; populate all the items from cursor2 columns elsif<condtion3>true then open cursor3; populate all items from curso3r columns elsif<condtion4>true then open cursor4; populate all items from cursor4 columns
Now, I want to know what slider elements become values.
My TL told me to find this, put messages. But I don't know where I put message [or in forms or cursors?]. Is an easy way to find errors in its present form?
Thank you all.My TL told me to find this, put messages. But I don't know where I put message [or in forms or cursors?].
You can add messages to your forms code in your conditional statement. For example, using your code sample:
IF
true then open cursor1; Clear_Message; Message('Using Cursor 1'); Message(' '); populate all the items from cursor1 columns elsif true then Clear_Message; Message('Using Cursor 2'); Message(' '); open cursor2; populate all the items from cursor2 columns elsif true then Clear_Message; Message('Using Cursor 3'); Message(' '); open cursor3; populate all items from curso3r columns elsif true then Clear_Message; Message('Using Cursor 4'); Message(' '); open cursor4; populate all items from cursor4 columns If your form works and you troubleshoot just a mistake, I wouldn't recommend restructure you your form. If the current process is inefficient or not, it has been tested and proved to a certain extent. Unless the form has many problems, I would keep the way it is and just solve the problem at hand! :)
Is an easy way to find errors in its present form?
You don't mention your version of Oracle Forms, but rather than adding messages to the code; I recommend that you use the debugger to step through your code forms so that you can see the enforcement code that is causing the problem. (Note: the debugger of forms can only step through you the code in the form.) If your cursors are in a data base/package procedure - all you will see is the call of this procedure of database/package - not the code in the procedure/package).
If you are using Forms 6i, simply add the "break." part of the code you want to debug. If you use Forms 9i or higher, then you will need to be able to run your form from forms manufacturer; which requires a configuration to make it work. Once configured, simply select the line you want to break the and press F5 for enabled or disabled a breakpoint. Then run your form by using the option 'run Debug form '.
If you really want to reegineer your form to use a query in the From Clause, take a look to forms: how - a block based on a query FROM Clause for more information on the query from Clause.
Now, I want to know what slider elements become values. The link Christian listed is also a very good article on using queries in the From Clause.
Hope this helps,
Craig B-)If someone useful or appropriate, please mark accordingly.

Report Builder charts of Oracle in Oracle Developer Suite 10 g
Hi everyone, please, help me.
I'm working on Oracle 10 g (10.1.2.0.2). I need to insert graphs (pie, bar etc).
I browsed the forum and I fell on the thread below:
Report Builder charts of Oracle in Oracle Developer Suite 10 g
He suggests that we should download demos 11g (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/downloads/index.html)
and discover the BI graph.
BUT the problem is that the installation in the zipped folder guide says very prerequisites for installation of the demo is to have 11g. and it will not work for 10g.
If this is the case then how I insert charts. I need to complete this work as soon as possible.
In my research, I also found the thread below where people say that this will work also for 10g.
http://CN.forums.Oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2247043
And if possible can anyone explain in brief or detailed steps. It will really help a lot of people.
I hope that you understand what exactly I wanted to say. Let me know if any questions... Please help me and many others who are struggling.You can ignore this error at design time.
When running, display the Java console to see if the errors are triggered.François
