check point and polygon in the same table

Hello

Can I store two different types of geometry as the Point and polygon in a table with one column of the SDO-Gemetry? I read somewhere that we can only store one type either points, polygon or line in one table with only on column geom, is that correct? If so, what would be the solution if the data is of type points and polygons? Should I create different table?

Appreciate any response or any type of recommendation.

FYI - I use oracle 10g with oracle spatial extension.

Best regards

Marwa

M

The fact that you combine several types of geometry in the same column has obvisouly some impact in the way that you investigate this type of column.

you could include a clause, for example, to filter on the type of geometry: where a.loc.gtype = 2001 (point gtype).

you could also, as you ask specifically points, through the access of the x and the coordinate of the point y (type) with a.loc.sdo_point.x =... and even for y.

but I think in your case, once you have built your spatial index, it may be better (in terms of performance) to fetch the spatial operator that uses the spatial index.

so the where clause would be: where sdo_relate (a.loc, (2001,8307,SDO_POINT_TYPE (107.53,32.53,null), null, null), sdo_geometry "mask = EQUALITY '") = 'TRUE '.

  • parents and children of the same table records

    I want to create a query that is a union such that 2nd resultset is based on the game of results 1. I have a table that has parent and child records in the same table.

    Table: EVENTS
    EVENT_ID
    PARENT_EVENT_ID
    CREATED_DATE
    (other columns)

    If PARENT_EVENT_ID is null, then this is a parent record, otherwise it is a book of the child. I want to select all parent records then union them with all the related child records... something like this:

    Select * from EVENTS where CREATED_DATE < sysdate - 90 and PARENT_EVENT_ID is null - all parents
    Union
    Select * event where PARENT_EVENT_ID in (select EVENT_ID of EVENTS where CREATED_DATE < sysdate - 90 and PARENT_EVENT_ID is null)-include all children selected from the top parent

    It works but it of kind of ugly, I want to avoid using the subselect in the 2nd because it is a repeat of the 1st statement, is there a way to alias the first statement and only refer to him in the 2nd query?

    Hello

    CONNECTION is very similar to a UNION on the same table. How is this:

    SELECT     *
    FROM     events
    WHERE     created_date     < SYSDATE - 90
    START WITH     parent_event_id     IS NULL
    CONNECT BY     parent_event_id     = PRIOR event_id
         AND     LEVEL          <= 2    -- Maybe
    ;

    ?

    To answer your question: Yes, you can still keep the result set of a query and the Treaty as if it were a table or vew, like this:

    WITH     roots     AS
    (
         SELECT     *
         FROM     events
         WHERE     created_date     < SYSDATE - 90
         AND     parent_event_id     IS NULL
    )
    SELECT     *
    FROM     roots
         --
    UNION ALL
            --
    SELECT     *
    FROM     events
    WHERE     created_date     < SYSDATE - 90
    AND     parent_event_id     IN (
                          SELECT  event_id
                          FROM    roots
                      )
    ;

    It's always a bit ugly, however. I would use CONNECT BY or from Oracle 11.2, a recursive WITH clause (which is explicitly a UNION), or, in any version, a self-join, like this:

    SELECT     c.*
    FROM          events  c
    LEFT OUTER JOIN     events     p  ON   p.event_id  = c.parent_event_id
    WHERE   p.parent_event_id  IS NULL
    ;

    I hope that answers your question.
    If not, post a small example of data (CREATE TABLE and only relevant columns, INSERT statements) for all of the tables involved and the results desired from these data.
    Report where the queriy above (the one you decide to use) is producingthe bad results and explain, using specific examples, how you get the right results from these data in these places.
    Always say what version of Oracle you are using (for example, 11.2.0.2.0).

  • Key Reg primary and foreign at the same table

    Hello

    It is - ok if create primary and foreign keys on the same table itself?

    For example:

    In a table X, I have two columns such as Codeunite and ParentUnitcode.
    Is it ok if create Mt10 as principal and ParentUnitcode as foreign keys in the table itself?

    The foreign key base table: OrganizationalUnit
    Foreign key columns: ParentUnitCode
    Primary/Unique key base: OrganizationalUnit
    Primary/unique key col: Mt10

    Can anyone answer me on that?

    Concerning
    Rajesh

    OWB,

    If the two tables are favouring a one-to-one relationship so there no need to have two separate tables and so you can have free referential foreign keys in the same table where the primary key.

    Hello

    So, you want to see all the tbl1 lines, if they have a match in log1, and for the grand total of lines, you must count the log1 lines if they have a match with tbl1.  This looks like a job for a FULL OUTER JOIN:

    SELECT t.status

    EARL of (l.status) AS cnt

    OF log1 l

    FULL OUTER JOIN tbl1 t WE t.status = l.status

    GROUP OF ROLLUP (t.status)

    HAVING t.status IS NOT NULL

    OR of a GROUP (t.status) = 1

    ;

    -Search for a line more low which is CON_DATE > = to_date ('01-NOV-1998', ' MON-DD-YYYY "") AND STATE = 30658 and get the second row whose state = 30658 but having separate con_date

                               or CON_DATE = > = to_date (November 1, 1997 ',' MON-DD-YYYY "") AND STATE <>30658 & get the second row including State = 30658 but having separate con_date

    and lower (status) = 'active '.

    and get another line that extends beyond the found line, but having separate con_date (no operation of the same day.)

    I tried to do it with and then attach it again with the same table, but I don't get different results...

    Please advise.

    Thanks for trying.

    First find a line that corresponds

    ((CON_DATE > = to_date (1er novembre 1998 ', ' MON-DD-YYYY ") AND STATE = 30658))

    or (CON_DATE > = to_date (November 1, 1997 ',' MON-DD-YYYY "") AND STATE <> 30658))

    8 second get/check the following line immediately for offs_id even that has different con_date, that is superior to prev con_date but State should be 3065

    If offs_id found then return else throw line...

    Thus, in addition to the conditions that I listed previously, there must be a line with the same offs_id, which has a con_date later and the State concerned; is this fair?

    You can use a self-join to see if there is such an extra line:

    WITH params AS

    (

    SELECT TO_DATE (November 1, 1998 ', 'DD-Mon-YYYY') AS later_threshold_date

    AS target_state 30658

    11900 AS target_offs_id

    OF the double

    )

    SELECT s.offs_id

    OF s sor_off

    JOIN params p ON s.offs_id = p.target_offs_id

    AND ((s.con_date > = p.later_threshold_date))

    AND s.state = p.target_state

    )

    OR (s.con_date > = ADD_MONTHS (p.later_threshold_date, 12))

    AND s.state <> p.target_state

    )

    )

    JOIN sor_off ON s2.offs_id = s.offs_id s2

    AND s2.con_date > s.con_date

    AND s2.state = p.target_state

    GROUP BY s.offs_id

    ;

    The only difference between this and the previous solution is the last join, in other words, the 3 lines of code just before the GROUP BY clause.

  • Need help with query for points and polygons, 2 tables of

    Hi all

    I'm slowly stumbling along trying to figure things out space.

    I have two tables, GEO_POINTS:
    (
    DEP_ID NUMBER (12) NOT NULL,
    LINE NUMBER 4 NOT NULL,.
    MDSYS. POINT_LOC SDO_GEOMETRY
    )

    and POLYGON_AREAS:
    (
    POLY_NAME VARCHAR2 (120 CHAR),
    POLY_DESC VARCHAR2 (120 CHAR),
    MDSYS POLY_POINTS. SDO_GEOMETRY
    )

    Neither table is engraved in stone, if any, I can change some structure.

    I'm trying to understand how to write a query to retrieve all the points in a polygon, perhaps even with an optional buffer provided by the user.

    Conversely, I would probably also need to know what polygons a point would have drawn in, and it's the only request I could make any progress on.

    What I have so far, which is not working properly, is the following:

    Select * from deposits_search where dep_id in)
    SELECT dep_id
    OF geo_points, polygon_areas
    where (sdo_relate)
    poly_points,
    (SELECT point_loc
    OF geo_points
    WHERE dep_id = 10282444),
    ("mask = ANYINTERACT") = "TRUE");

    In the light of the foregoing, I want to select all the lines of a third table (DEPOSITS_SEARCH), for all polygons which is a point. The DEP_ID column is my primary key for most of the data tables in the database, and the number rose in my application query. However, the above returns all rows. It should only return one, because I only have a polygon of test defined so far.

    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

    Bill Ferguson

    in which case you must include a line of buffer for the interaction between the points and polygons (with a stamp),

    better, you use the SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE operator.

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/HTML/B14255_01/sdo_operat.htm#i77653

    Not so sure what you mean with "I always have problems while providing a point location and extract the polygons that point would be plotted in" as so-called before unless you want that as a 'transitional instance of a geometry. (Specified using a variable binding or a builder SDO_GEOMETRY.) »

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/HTML/B14255_01/sdo_operat.htm#i78531

    Read what geometry2 means in there. Read the examples and you will see that you have the geometry second in space operator as a builder. If this is what you need.

    You cannot use the Table Express. Like the properties page says: this is for digital data. You will need to use a bit of real LabVIEW to create the table. A table is simply a string 2D array. Convert the digital chain, build an array of 1 d of the filename and numberic strings and use a shift register to build a 2D array. Something like the code below.

  • How to get the points of contact between the points and polygons

    Hi ~

    I am
    work based on Oracle 11 g and
    looking for a way to get points of contact between the points and polygons.

    For example, I have two data STORE (point) "and"(polygon) ROAD"and each store must have a contact point or points of contact for the nearest road.

    I know what the closest route is using SDO_NN, but I don't know hot to get the point of contact.

    Please let me know hot to do ~

    Thank you.

    If you have the point and its nearest road, you can find the contact point (ie the store point nearest the road linestring) using SDO_LRS function Project_Pt as follows:

    With route As (
      select SDO_GEOMETRY(3302,NULL,NULL,SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,2,1),SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(2.0,2.0,0.0, 2.0,4.0,3.218, 8.0,4.0,12.872, 12.0,4.0,19.308, 12.0,10.0,28.962, 8.0,10.0,35.398, 5.0,14.0,43.443)) as route,
             SDO_GEOMETRY(2001,NULL,sdo_point_type(9,3,NULL),null,null) as store
      from dual
      )
      SELECT SDO_LRS.PROJECT_PT(route, store) as store_on_route
      FROM route ;
    -- Result
    --
    STORE_ON_ROUTE
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(3301,NULL,NULL,MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,1,1),MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(9,4,14.481))

    If you don't have a space licence, try using my LRS for users of Locator at: http://www.spatialdbadvisor.com/source_code/214/linear-package-sdo_lrs-replacement

    If this is correct, please give points. (I work for love IE Points not money!)

    I have two blocks, blockA and blockB, both from the same table that is tableX.

    When I ask of blockA and it worked, then I go to blockB and modify data, and save, there is no problem. But when I do not run the query of blockA or if the query did not return any results, I go to blockB and change some data then save, I got this error. The cursor then go to first blockA point. So now, I have to delete this empty line before the Save.

    Any suggestion?

    you set a few initial values programmatically for a block?
    in this case, the status changes to INSERT and you will get this message.
    You can check the staus with GET_RECORD_PROPERTY (1, "A BLOCK", STATUS), e.g. with the trigger KEY-COMMIT.

    I dealt with this problem for months.  Even hired a comp tech to fix it and still have the same question.  I had my computer wiped and windows 7 and 8 then reinstalled by a professional.  This all started when I upgraded form 7 to 8.  After 7 to 8 my computer kept getting this error. . kept crashing.  He was supposed to be fixed and it still does the same thing. Hello

    The upgrade to 8.1 was perhaps not the best thing to do...

    A lot of people are having problems with it also.

    If it is a desktop computer, have you checked the wall outlet and the plug on the back of the computer?

    Your point about starting the tone certainly as a power or a hard disk problem...

    The problem with you mouse pointer could be related to a feature called quick start...

    Your other problem also, perhaps... Try to turn it off and see if it helps...

    This feature works only when you make a STOP and then start.

    It is not perform a RESTART.

    Turn on or off...

    Go to the control panel... Power options, and then select choose the power what buttons on the left.

    Then select change settings that are currently unavailable near the top center of the screen...

    Lower on the window, uncheck the quick start.

  • Update of several rows of the same table using trigger

    Hello

    I have the following table

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    CREATE TABLE ATT_PERMISSIONS
    (

    EMPIDNUMBER (10)DEFAULT VALUE 0,
    FROMDATETIMEDATE,

    NUMBER OF PERMMINS (3),

    SSLINASTRETCH NUMBER (3).

    PERMATTINELIGIBLENUMBER (1)DEFAULT VALUE 0
    );

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I want to update the column PERMATTINELIGIBLE in the same table when each line is inserted.

    I created following trigger for that

    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER SSL_AFTER_UPDATE AFTER UPDATE ON ATT_PERMISSIONS

    FOR EACH LINE

    BEGIN

    Update ATT_PERMISSIONS set PERMATTINELIGIBLE =

    (

    SELECT THE CHECK BOX

    or

    (

    PERMMINS < = SSLINASTRETCH

    AND

    COUNT (CASE WHEN PERMMINS = 0 THEN NULL OTHERWISE 1 END)

    COURSES (PARTITION BY empid, prmonthyr) < = 1

    )

    THEN 1

    0 OTHERWISE

    END

    FROM ATT_PERMISSIONS where prmonthyr =:new.prmonthyr, empid =:new.empid

    ) where prmonthyr =:new.prmonthyr, empid =:new.empid;

    END;

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    That is to say.

    When a row is inserted the PERMATTINELIGIBLE of all records for this employee for the month is recalculated.

    There would be only two or three records for an employee for a month.

    PERMMINS is the number of minutes to use as short leave.

    If it is less than 60 is eligible for the bonus to attendance for this employee.

    If this isn't normally the date is not eligible for the attendance for this employee premium.

    but an exception is that if a short leaves of DISP employee allowed a month (IE. ( SSLINASTRETCH ) in a straight line, IE. one day, that day is eligible for the bonus of presence.

    That is to say. Why the number of short leaves in a month is taken. If it's one and done minutes use is lower to SSLINASTRETCH, then the day is eligible for the attendance bonus.

    But when I try to create the trigger I get error, PL/SQL: ORA-00907: missing a right parenthesis.

    Help, please

    I use oracle 10g

    I want to update the column PERMATTINELIGIBLE in the same table, when each row is inserted.

    No - you do NOT want to do in a trigger.

    You cannot query the same table that the trigger is activated on. -C' is a MUTANT and you will get an exception.

    When a row is inserted is recalculated to the PERMATTINELIGIBLE of all the records for that employee for that month.

    There would be only two or three records for an employee for a month.

    PERMMINS is the number of minutes to use as short leave.

    If it is less than 60 is eligible for the bonus to attendance for this employee.

    If is not normally the day is not eligible for the premium of attendance for this employee.

    but an exception is that if a short leaves of DISP employee allowed a month (IE. SSLINASTRETCH) in a straight line, IE. one day, that day is eligible for the bonus of presence.

    That is to say. Why the number of short leaves in a month is taken. If it's one and done minutes use is less than SSLINASTRETCH, then the day is eligible for the bonus of presence.

    But when I try to create the trigger I get error, PL/SQL: ORA-00907: missing a right parenthesis.

    You can not do in a trigger. Even if correct you this error of syntax, you will get the exception that I mentioned above.

    Oracle is a multi-user system. Other users can modify the same table that you use.

    So even if you could try to interview "all the records for this employee" some of them may be locked if other users access them. Also, an insert statement could try to insert two rows for an employee and the trigger could not have seen the other lines still.

    If you want to work with data SETS (all records for an employee), you must write the PL/SQL code that LOCKS all lines updated to prevent others to interfere.

    Then you make your operations but NOT in a trigger. Perform inserts and then use an UPDATE query to set this value.

    Then VALIDATE to unlock the lines.
