Classic deployment question 10.3.2 blackBerry

I have a unlocked Blackberry Classic SQC100-4. I used it on AT & T GoPhone. Why the 10.3.2 is not available for my unlocked phone?

You seem to think that all is lost? Official methods receive an update in no case are the only methods. Also, we cannot know that if your hypothesis is correct about ATTs controls on the implementation... only they can answer that question, of course. Finally, I feel obliged to provide a slight correction here:

BlackBerry does not support devices purchased from other online retailers.

This raises different questions. I did the (incorrect) assumption earlier that you had purchased your device from ATT. One of the theories on the OS version control is that the carrier controls... but it's actually a bit generic. Each instrument is initially made for some channels and the carrier... If your device was not originally made for ATT but rather another carrier, then it is possible that it was this another carrier (whatever they may be, we have no way of knowing) who controls the release, even if you run on ATT.

But, it's all theoretical and academic in any case... If the official methods do not provide the update, there is no way to force them to do so. But it remains informal methods... refer:

And, since it is still updated to 10.3.2.2639, you can get this automatic charger here:

So you see, all is not lost! As has always been with BB, skillful users have come up with methods to get around the controls that exist and allow other users get what they want.

Good luck!

  • Deploy an icon on the BlackBerry smartphone to a web application or URL

    Hello

I want to deploy an icon on the BlackBerry for a web application is home.  When the user click on this icon, I automatically want to launch my web app (URL).

    I found this article:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800708/800655/How_To _...

And I read about 'push channel browser', which seems to do exactly what I want to do:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/7979/1181821/832210/Developi...

I did a test with my Blackberry that is connected to a BES, and it works very well using the code example.

My question is this, 'channel browser push' can be used for Blackberry that is not configured in our BES.

For example, I want to be able to deploy an icon on the Blackberry from customers and suppliers we have, but these Blackberries are not related at all our BES or network.

Is it possible to do this?  If so, should I do something special to make it work?

If not, does that mean my only solution is to create a Java application that automatically launch the browser Blackberry (second option from the first link)?

    Thanks for your help!

Channel browser push you make reference to requires the user is on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

The alternatives to this is a Java application (as you have discovered), BlackBerry Widget or Signal of Web.  Web signals is the equivalent to a BlackBerry Internet Server Browser channel thrust.

BlackBerry Widget SDK (applications requires a BlackBerry 5.0 device software)

  • BlackBerry Classic Nano sim card slot for Blackberry Classic tray - replacement

    Hi people

I wonder if anyone can help to where I can obtain a cardholder for sim replacement for my classic Blackberry which is folded. It does not close with or without the sim card. Sent email to Blackberry and the retailer still no joy. Help.  Thank you very much. C

I don't think that the parts are available for the classic. You must contact your carrier or your point of purchase for repair or replacement. If it's physical damage caused by you it may not be covered under warranty, however.

  • Can we deploy the Java App COD blackberry on BES file and push it to group

    Hi all

I have an app for phones blackberry mobile. Now, you want to know can we push the file COD of all devices connected to the BES app?

I'm new to BES functionlality. Do I need to add a new API in the program to make it compatible for delpoyed with blackberry BES?

    Your support is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    ~ Priyanka

You have to do anything with the application.  However, you will need to create an alx - the same file you would use if you were deploying using the Desktop Manager.

I think this video tells you the alx files.

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/deploying-and-signing-applications-in-the-BL...

Sorry I can't quickly find an article that tells you about the deployment of BES.  Take a look for yourself.  The process is to install the alx and cod in an area known of shared, create a software for this group and assigning users to this group.

  • Question of Q10 of blackBerry

Hi I just brought my bbq10 I can't in.ii my password forgotten newspaper, but he asked what my favorite color? I never save for me to answer the question.

Using a PC browser, go to www.bbid.com and see if you can reset your password.

When you set up your BBID it would be you sent an email asking you to verify your BBID by clicking on a link in this email. If you checked you can reset your password to www.bbid.com without a security answer.

If you do not check the BBID then you need TO answer your security question. If you can't answer, then, if you still have the original e-mail, you can use it to remove the BBID and re-create it. You will lose all data associated with it like BBM contacts, however.

If you do not have the original email, you will need to create a new BBID with a new email address.

  • OTA deployment question

I wanted to deploy an application on-line via BES (4.1), then I put the cod and alx files on a drive shared, has run the indexer, created the software configuration and it has assigned to the user. Everything went well, except that he has not pushed to the device again - it was over 5 hours since the app has been on the server! So, what could go wrong? How to fix the failures of deployment? Is there a log somewhere I can look at? The app installs fine using javaloader. And cod files are under 60K each.

    I'd appreciate any help!

Thank you, Peter! Unfortunately, I found that the record had been disabled on the server recently - there is nothing to watch!

    However, that's what I did:

1 added "AppProvisioningPollInterval" in the Windows registry and set it to 10 minutes (for testing. I've put 240 after that I did test).

2 restarted BlackBerry Service strategy (from Windows 'Services').

As soon as I did the two things above, I could see some activity! However, the State of the device under software configuration turned to "unsupported device". Then, I downloaded the last Device.xml.

    Problem solved!

    Thank you.

  • A few questions for the first blackberry development

    Hello

First of all, my apologies for this being placed in the Java section, it seemed, the nearest section of what it is, but please move if need be.

We have an application in development for the iOS platform that uses some geolocation and Web services.  We believe that we should have a version for the blackberry also platform, so we're looking in this evolution.  However, not being not to developers or users of blackberry, the different options for creating an application are quite overwhelming.  My questions are the following:

    (a) what language (Java?) is the most compatible?  Ideally, we would like to write the backend once, don't have to change the interface for devices of the curve through to the new playbook.  Java is also based on all of these devices?  None of us have any idea of Adobe Air, this is probably out of the question.

    (b) what are the operating systems are supported by what?  The curve I picked up seems to have Blackberry OS5 on it.  All operating systems support Java everything too, and whose support wifi location and cell tower map (the curve does not have a GPS unit).

    (c) I understand that during the development in Java there is a blackberry UI api, that's fine.  However, what version of Java is supported?  Is - this SE6, or we are talking about mobile Java here?

    (d) distribute the Apps.  The Blackberry App World seems to be the best route.  Do most people use?  It seems that the Blackberry is not restricted like iOS devices in how applications can be distributed.  Is there any other App stores (e.g. Amazon for Android?).  I guess it would be silly not not to enumerate the BB App World.

Thanks in advance, any help is much appreciated.

    S.

It is a really difficult game of questions.

    (a) Yes is the short answer.

The long answer involves noting that the PlayBook does not directly support Java, and development platforms only available to this end are currently Adobe Air and Web works.  I can't give you a good explanation, since I dabbled only in them, but in summary,

    (a) with Web works you are essentially creating a Web application using HTML and JavaScript, with some JavaScript interfaces to the native operating system

    (b) air seems to me be in another development environment where screens and treatment are defined in a "Scripting" language that runs on the device.

Work Web development is possible on the current BlackBerry phones as well, although I have no idea how compatible the two are - in other words how much you would have to change to a PlayBook Web app works works on the Palm and vice versa.

I suggest you ask a similar question in the forums for these two platforms and see what they say.

Anyway, there is a train of thought that phones current based Java will stop at some point, and phones will become based QNX, as PB.  So right now, if you want to learn something, then Web works.  But the works Web will be able to do what you want?  I don't know, but I don't know that Java is.

But whatever the customer, you should be able to write the backend once.  Everything should speak http towards it.

    (b) there is not a BONE by device. Most devices come out with only one level and can be upgraded, usually at the next big release.

Take a look at this good:

    http://us.BlackBerry.com/developers/choosingtargetos.jsp

OS 5.0 in theory supports the location of the cell tower.  I say in theory because I never had to work in the United Kingdom.  But I have not tried very hard.  In my view, WiFi is available in the OS 6.0.

    (c) blackBerry support J2ME, with a significant number of extensions.  Think of it as Java 1.4 without all the useful bits, but the then RIM tried to add their useful in bits.

    (d) cannot speak for others, but BB App World is all I use.  Tried another one and didn't get anywhere.  YMMV.

    I hope this helps.

  • Question of synchronization to blackBerry Smartphones: there is a problem connecting to BlackBerry App World. Please try again.

First of all, I have never had this problem before when you try to install the apps from the app world.

I am trying to download WhatsApp Messenger through App World by clicking Download, and then by clicking on the button 'Sync '. I'm then prompted with the error "synchronization problem: there is a problem connecting to BlackBerry App World." Please try again. ».

    Screenshot: http://goo.gl/RSx8v

App world tells me on the right side of the page that my machine is connected (which is) via the USB port. I tried the phone turned off, taking the battery for more than a minute to be sure, restart the phone, restart the computer and try again with no luck.

I also tried several browsers, Chrome and Firefox.

I found this page which tells me it could be a firewall issue, http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?externalId=KB27184&sliceId=1&cmd=displayKC&d...

I therefore disabled my firewall and still had no success. This gets really annoying, and my blackberry seems to have stupid questions like this forever.

Anyone got any ideas on a solution possible?

    Thank you.

I tried in IE and it works. Went back to Firefox and Chrome, and it does not work. But the interesting thing is a friend tried his blackberry on my computer and it works fine in Firefox.

EDIT: I found the problem, I deleted the App World Plugin from my computer and reinstalled Firefox and it works. Why it does not detect that I use a plugin obsolete?

    Anyway, problem solved.

  • Question of Hotspot Mobile blackBerry Smartphones

    Could someone help me please?

When I chose "Mobile Hotspot" in the management of connections, it allowed me to set up a password. When I select now if a check mark appears in the box and other devices can 'see' my protected WPA Hotspot, but I get a message on the screen saying:

    "Activation required.

' Click on continue to subscribe to a Mobile Hotspot data plan using the browser of your smartphone or on a connected Wi - Fi device.

The only option is 'OK' (non-continuous). If I select OK, then I go back to the connection management screen, with no check mark the box Mobile Hotspot. I'm on Orange UK (APN orangeinternet) data and voice plan.

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Hey Wapking,.

Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

    Thanks for the question.

The Mobile Hotspot feature is an extra data plan that is controlled by your network service provider.  Contact your provider network (Orange UK) to add this feature.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    See you soon.

  • Basic of the NAC deployment question

    Hello

Do I have reason to assume that at least 2 devices - a server and Manager must consist of a NAC deployment? or is the manager, an application running on a Windows Server? the Manager can run on the same machine as the server?

My second question concerns Cisco Trust Agent and clean access Agent. CTA has actually managed by CAA? from what I see, CTA was part of the old framework of the NAC until they start using devices.

    Many thanks in advance,

    DOM

Manager and the server can run on both PC or Cisco devices, which are in fact HP ProLiant DL140 G3 or HP ProLiant DL360 G5 PCs ;) You will need two devices in all cases.

Second question - no one knows what will happen with all technology in the future. Is it completely replaced by MS NAP? The framework of the NAC is cancelled? Two Cisco solutions are not perfect. What customers actually need, is to have all the features of the NAC appliance to operate directly on the routers and Cisco switches. No clean access server no need in this case, only managing! And the OOB mode which is difficult to set up, support and troubleshoot will disappeared. The NAC framework is executed directly on Cisco devices, but it's not feature-REACH as NAC Appliance.

  • Question of timetable of blackBerry Smartphones?

I don't know if this has been asked before... my mother & I have Curve 8330 with Verizon.  My mother that I was wondering if there was a way to put the calendar as the homepage and not icons or is it visible on a regular basis?  Is this possible or that you just have to see it through the BB menu?

We are both new to the BB world... and I didn't know how to search on here to see if this has been asked before.

    Thanks in advance,

    Lindsay

Excellent question.  Themes allow you to have your calendar as part of the home screen.  Check out this link to a previous thread: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=8300&message.id=47775&query.id=52483#...

You can find all sorts of themes; many of them for free.
