Classic report with column LOV

I have simple classic report (Apex 4.2.4) with two columns. One is to main table and shows the ID; another column is LOV that contains detail table names, which must FK main table.

Table structure:

master_table (id NUMBER);

detail_table (detail_name VARCHAR2 (50), master_id NUMBER);

Source report looks like:

Select

ID,

lov_column null

of master_table;

lov_column is defined as a query in function LOV and query looks like:

Select detail_name from detail_table

where master_id = #ID #.

But the application does not recognize the values #ID #? Can I use it without the WHERE statement, but in this case in LOV, I got all the records, and that I want in a folder have values only for this ID.

What can I do?

Thanks in advance.

Kiran I thank you for your care, I finally found the solution.

Apex.Oracle.com cloud works with Apex5, it is not possible to obtain a classical column LOV relation, but it is possible to do this by using APEX_ITEM. SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY. And so I did in my application.

in the statement I wrote:

Select

Mt.ID,

apex_item.select_list_from_query (1, null, "select dt.detail_code d, dt.detail_code r detail_table dt where dt.master_id = ' |") Mt.ID) retail

of master_table TM;

And it works!

  • First group title below displays under the column headers using the model 23 classic report with the help of repeat titles on break

    Hello

    I am migrating an application from 3 APEX APEX 4.2 on a thing I noticed with the classic reports when I put them in the model 23, it's that the first section break has break notch under the headings of columns for this section of line while the remaining lines properly have it display above the headers on the subsequent sections of group.

    When I look at firebug code I saw that all the tables but the first, the break line is included in the last line of the previous table, so I can see how it did not work for the holidays since.

    I have tow questions.

    1. is it really intentional because it seems not terribly elegant and my users to zero immediately above as a perceived bug.

    2. is there a reasonable job around always use headers repeat on break? I have multiple reports on the same page in places so switch to interactive reports is not a quick fix for me in this case.

    Example of a question can be seen at apex.oracle.com at home

    1. is it really intentional because it seems not terribly elegant and my users to zero immediately above as a perceived bug.

    The Standard report template definition in issue 23 contains thead and tbody elements:

    Before the column header

    Column title template

    #COLUMN_HEADER#

    After the title column

    After the lines

    #PAGINATION#

    This is intentional, the best practice for marking up HTML tables. What is not expected is the problem that arises when this model is used with the break of repeat titles on break formatting option. The repeated headings result table consisting of soup of tags containing several poorly constructed tbody and thead, which is not valid elements.

    2. is there a reasonable job around always use headers repeat on break? I have multiple reports on the same page in places so switch to interactive reports is not a quick fix for me in this case.

    Create a copy of the report model Standard in Standard (break formatting) for use with reports of the break, remove the thead and tbody definitions of template tags and the breakdown of the reports to use the new model of change. (Or, if you use mainly break reports using the Standard template, keep the tags in the copy and remove them from the original in order to minimize the number of reports, you need to change.)

    Personally, I would create a report model of line custom to break complex reports in order to be able to have complete control over the structure and presentation.

  • Functionality of the classic report checkbox column.

    My requirement is

    I have a classic report based on sql query in this 1st column is checkbox.

    When I click on this check box, the value of the 2nd column is copied in the 4th column of the same rank.

    Assume that the 2nd column value is 100 after you have clicked on the box of 100 control is copied into reports even line 4 column.

    How can I do this?

    You want to just copy the value of the of the sal to the text box column. Its simple javascript.

    Looking at your page source I see that you call a function called spCheckChange. You use an application process in this function. Is this really necessary? The result is a heavy AJAX call.

    You can simply use jQuery, if you create your report the right way i.e. add attributes to the checkbox and textbox which serve to identify which box would copy a value in what text box.

    Here is a demo that I put in place.

    You can take a look on how javascript code and attributes of the text box/box using your browser tools.

  • Interactive report with named lov

    Hello

    Is it possible to use a lov named (a static in my case) in an interactive report?

    When you use is not an interactive report, it is possible and I can't understand why oracle would not allow it in an interactive report.

    Hello

    It would appear that you can do that (I don't know why, sorry!). You can try using an APEX_ITEM function and make it readonly.

    My suggestion, however, would be to create a join with APEX_APPLICATION_LOV_ENTRIES to convert your codes in the display LOV values.

  • Help with selection lists in the classic report

    Hello

    I work with APEX 4.1. Oracle 11.

    I have a simple and classic report with 4 columns (username, role, reading, updating). The columns of the reading and the update are select list with values of 'Yes', 'no '.

    Report looks like this:

    User role name read the update
    JSmith Admin Yes Yes
    LJones Dev yes no

    My requirement is that when the user selects Yes the update select list, the value of the associated column in the reading should change Yes as well for this particular user name. Change must occur after Yes is selected in the list select update.

    Im not very strong with javascript, but for testing purposes I applied: onchange = "alert ('hi'); "in the update column. When I make a change to the update select list, the alert returns to its position.

    Can anyone suggest how I can implement the change to the value of associated reading of Yes if the selected update value is Yes, for this particular line.

    Thank you

  • Sort a hyperlink column in the classic report

    4.2.1

    THM2:

    Hi I have a classic report with a hyperlink column. And I need enable sorting on this. What I did is

    Select '< a href = "somelink" >' | party_name | "< /a > ' party_name party_name table.

    However, I just need to show the hyperlink column in the report. Couple of questions

    1. How can I create party_name-based sorting logic using the updated classic sorting standard? Given that all a hyperlink names begin with < - sorting is random. I added the second party_name column an active by default sort on it, but given that the column can not be shown, is not a good way.

    2. I was wondering if there is another way to sort this classic report hyperlink column as shown in the hyperlink and sorting is enabled on the report?

    Thank you!

I use the hyperlinks on query sql rather that the link of the column is because we have about 5 unions in this query from different sources and each of those interviewing him, having a hypertext link and additional formatting like "BOLD", color etc, under certain conditions. Query1 will return only the party_name, the second query United would have hypertext links, the third would fat etc. The union of the request is not made to take into account this feature, but because of the nature of the data.  While the apex feature works very well, the only question I hit is the hyperlink column sorting in a classic report. Where the simplified question. Individual responses, I've had have been very useful and have been applied successfully.

    In this case, the request for a classic report that has column link, how to sort would work it would be on a regular character column.

    Option 1 (deeply inelegant): Generate an HTML comment containing the sort at the beginning of the column value. The value must be sortable using the character comparison semantics, so dates must follow the format YYYYMMDD, numbers padded to the same length with zeros etc: Re: problem with the Date command

    Option 2A: Expand the Expression HTML technique described in your previous thread (marking dynamically of columns in a "BOLD" for the highest value report) to include the tags.

    Option 2b: Use the HTML Expression technique described in the previous thread to include custom data attributes and use these to add links to dynamic actions.

    If this is done on several pages, and then create a view all the necessary logic and the columns which you can keep it in one place.

  • onMouseOver displays the ToolTip of hidden column of the classic report

    What: The goal:
    Access more information that fits on a single line of the screen without using multiple fixed lines.

    Background:
    Classic report with 18 data elements (columns) visible. At the search box, and the user can choose the number of rows displayed.
    Some data elements can be long (20 to 30 characters) compared to the width of the screen. The element more right data risk of 100 characters.

    Proposed strategy:
    (1) display the n first characters of the item (s) long in the report.
    (2) display the entire item onMouseOver.

    Proposed approach:
    (1) for each column with the data of type long, contain the integer value in a hidden item.
    (2) value of (hidden) long display in tooltips (bubble? / ball?) on this value onMouseOver.

    Note: It is not framed to help/Help for a column but the display of the value of long type for a particular element in the line of a column.

    Search feature:
    (1) to reduce maintenance, wants to set up for several columns using a single common block of code.

    In view of the other approaches, you know, it's a good approach to achieve the goal? Alternative approaches?

    I added some old code, I had laying around. It adds a bubble that will stay for 5 seconds or until you click Next or move to another record.

    What I would do at this point, it is simply truncate the length of the Nm long to something short (with a substr). Use any indicator wished to hover. Like for example these glasses it's really up to you.

  • How to create dynamic action of the link column in the classic report

    I have an apex page to display a modal window using jquery. In the modal window, I have a classic report with a column of link I want to capture its click event.
    I thought I could create a dynamic action with selection of type = jquery selector. Not sure if I need to do anything on the link column and do not know the syntax
    jquery selector. Would appreciate help or direction?

    Always zip code using .

    ...\

    tags as described in the FAQ.

    I created a region of report with the following query:

    Select empno, ename, 'SELECT' from emp
    where (ename like '%'||ltrim(rtrim(:P2_SEARCHPU))||'%'
    or :P2_SEARCHPU is null)

    There is no alias specified for the "SELECT" column, Oracle uses so the content of the column as a default alias. It comes

    'SELECT'

    Instead of

    SELECT

    The necessary jQuery selector would be:

    td[headers="\'SELECT\'"] a

    However the need to release the single quote everywhere is a ticking time bug. SELECT an Oracle reserved word means use it as any type of identifier is either too smart.

    You should always use a valid Oracle identifier as an alias explicit when a column contains a literal value or a complex expression:

    select
        empno
      , ename
      , 'SELECT' link_text
    from
        emp
    where
        (  ename like '%'||ltrim(rtrim(:P2_SEARCHPU))||'%'
         or :P2_SEARCHPU is null)

    APEX will use the column alias LINK_TEXT as the ID attribute of the column header and the cells in the column will reference it in their headersattributes. The jQuery selector is:

    td[headers="LINK_TEXT"] a

    Hello
    Check your page now.

    As mentioned earlier, you must use APEX_ITEM. CHECKBOX2.

    APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX2(2,EMP.EMPNO,null,null,null,'f02_'||lpad(ROWNUM,4,'0')) NO,

    Therefore, you use the jQuery val().

  • Cannot save box-States in classic report

    Hello

    I googled this problem, but I have not found a solution.

    I have a classic report with 16 box-columns. It is a part of the select statement:

    Select

    APEX_ITEM. Text(1,PF.ID) id,

    f.Frage,

    APEX_ITEM. CheckBox(2,PF.ja,,PF.ID) ja,

    APEX_ITEM. CheckBox(3,PF.) Nein, NULL, PF.ID) nein.

    APEX_ITEM. Neiu CheckBox(4,PF.neiu,,PFID),

    [...]

    of prueffragen pf,.

    fragenkatalog f

    where pf.frage = f.id

    If the value of the column for a field of response (called here "ja", "nein", "neiu") is the value of the ID column, the box is checked. I thought: "Bravo!"

    But save the values for the works dosent tables. It is a part of the procedure to save the values for the field of answer 'ja ':

    BECAUSE me in 1.APEX_APPLICATION. G_F02. COUNTING LOOP

    UPDATE prueffragen

    JA = APEX_APPLICATION SET. G_F02 (i)

    WHERE id = to_number (APEX_APPLICATION. G_F02 (i));

    commit;

    END LOOP;

    It seems that I can't read the value of the new checkbox checked. Perhaps because the page is not submitted. As an example, that I have checked 2 ckecboxes and I checked off one more and try to save it, I see that the array has 3 entries (only the checked boxes are in the table), but the value of the new checkbox enabled is 0 and did not retain the primary key field value.

    What can I do?

    "error report:

    "ORA-06502: PL/SQL: digital or value error: character string buffer too small.

    an unusual thing, that I've noticed here is when I select "All groups", which returns the value 0, it is works well and return of 3700 lines but when I select any group that returns 10 to 20 lines I get the above error.

    does not include why it is, please help me.

    Kind regards

    Hi all

    I am able to solve the problem by referring to the link below:

    Huge selection box fails...

    What I am able to solve without even changing the item type. Things are working fine now, but it would be really helpful if someone could give me their expert commentary on the solution above.

    Is this feasible? I'll be able to solve the problem forever, or it will cause problems again in the future?

    Kind regards

    I'm trying to highlight the lines when the boxes are ticked and used the code depending on what can be found here:

    < script type = "text/javascript" >

    Hello

    Here is an example of use of jQyery

    $("input[name=f29]").each(function(){
    var lThis=$(this);
    if(lThis.is(":checked")){
      lThis.parents("tr:eq(0)").children("td").css({"background-color":"#F5D0A9"});
    } else {
      lThis.parents("tr:eq(0)").children("td").css({"background-color":""});
    }
    });

    Create a dynamic action that fires after the region refresh JavaScript execution. Place above in the code.

    Kind regards
