Clean up his allotted time on Wan

Hi all!

We have a freshly deployed ESX 3.5 cluster to the Japan we manage from our server VC 2.5 in Sweden. It seems impossible to use Update Manager to clean up these hosts, if there are patches that are larger than a few MB in size, since he always expires when you download them to the host.

Everyone knows about this problem? I understand that it is not uncommon to administer ESX cluster spread all over the world of WAN.

BTW, I managed to install the last batch of patches using esxupdate manually and pointing to our repository in Sweden. It is not esxupdate itself which expires, but rather the VC server or anything that meets with the host.

Thank you

Anders

This issue is addressed in the VI4 - vSphere with staging. During the process of staging your patches/updates are copied to the guests and the hosts are running. You can then run the task of sanitation

    Hello

If you received a blue error screen, or a stop code, the computer stopped abruptly to protect against data loss. A hardware device, its driver or software might have caused this error.

Control bug 0 x 101: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT-This indicates that an interruption of clock expected on a secondary processor in a multiprocessor system, has not received in the allotted interval.

    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff557211%28VS.85%29.aspx

Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

I suggest you to download the minidump files so that the experts here can analyze the cause of the error on a blue screen.

It is likely that your CPU is a failure.

    However, before replacing, try this

    1. If you are overclocking the processor, back to normal speed
    2. To avoid overheating, get a can of compressed air and dust out of your computer
    3. Go to the website of the manufacturer of the computer, download and install the latest drivers and BIOS for your model
  • How to clean the files of time machine restore after reinstall

Just did a wipe and reinstall on an iMac 2011 (10.8.5) mountain running Lion.

I don't want to do a full restore from Time Machine; I just want to take a few important files (cache profiles, e-mail, etc.). [Did the reinstall because my system was flawed and nothing else I did fix it.] [The story is here:beachball recurring in all applications in Lion, finally freezes iMac]

When I open Time Machine on my 'new' machine and turn it on, he says he has no previous backups, but begins to make its first backup in 120 seconds. There is no option to "enter" Time Machine and recover individual files.

I then turn off Time Machine because I'm afraid that it will make a new backup and erase / unrecoverable my previous backups.

The drive Time Machine target exists in disk utility. A 600 + files (backups, no doubt!) and verified without errors.

Before the clean and reinstall Time Machine worked perfectly. I have test-recovered some files and everything was good.

How do I introduce my iMac 'new' to my old backups Time Machine?

    Thank you

Use tmutil inheritbackup such as described by the end Pondini in his FAQ, here: http://pondini.org/TM/B6.html. Follow the instructions in the blue box, entitled "inherit a backup. The is short and simple but please follow carefully.

I believe that you won't always be able to restore individual files until that Time Machine backs up new, then let him. Once this is done, you will have access to your old backups.

Alternate procedure: since you can not keep this old backup after the restoration of the individual in any case files, you can hold a key option key while clicking the Time Machine in your Mac's menu bar. A option «Browse other backup disks...» ' will be displayed. What to choose.

  • in Windows 7, the past his off times randomly notify.wav

I recently bought a new motherboard, so I reinstalled Win 7 64 bit SP1. I installed all critics optionally Win updates and except language packs. Any motherboard current CPU and GPU drivers are installed from their respective sites. I started to re - install the software I used before without a problem. About a day in the installation of programs the its generic notify.wav began to go from time to time. Maybe once every two hours or more. It is not "Windows Notify.wav" but "notify.wav" now days later, it happens again.

I've read a few threads that I could find on what people seem to have solved in different ways and it was mainly related to the installation of a third-party program that caused the notification. I used CCleaner to clean all residual files from facilities. I still get the sound of notifiy.wav will at random times.

I decided to try just remove notify.wav C:\Windows\Media

When I tried, first of all, I get "you need to provide administrator permission to move this file."

After clicking on continue I get

'You need permission from TrustedInstaller to edit this file.

If I click on try again, she persists with this message. So I can't remove it because of TrustedInstaller. This confirms a little what others say is a problem with the installation of other programs. But the sound notify.wav seems to turn off randomly... all while browsing the web, watch a video in media player or vlc, and there is no popup or a warning message that accompanies the sound.

Do you know why this is happening and hwo to stop it.

    Success!

I found what was the sound notification going off, with a huge thank you to John in winhelponline. It involves the use of Process Monitor to monitor the programs that might be using the sound notify.wav or any sound that you specify in the filter. His instructions are here:

    http://www.Winhelponline.com/blog/find-application-making-sounds-in-background/

It connects a download Process Monitor in his explanation, but in case you miss it, it's here:

    https://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals

In my case it was a simple calendar program I installed (iCalendar) right after you have installed Windows. He missed to install to give notifications of time schedules using notify.wav as sound, without further notice visible. Crazy boring.

in any case, John method above can be used by those who are trying to find the source of any random its going in Windows.

I had installed on this pc WIndows Vista and after 1 year of error I coudnt repair it more.

I hae errors on Xp before I bought a Vista and now I have installed Windows 7 as a test.

Unfortunately, I received the error after 2 minutes of play Dark Orbit, the browser game. I noticed usually takes place when I play games the internet Explorer + or sometimes games + winamp.

I downloaded Windows Dbg and I started to analise errors: the results have been different because of some programs I had installed.

After reading a few reviews here, I've changed my antivirus AVG and my Ad-Aware malaware spyware Defender.

After these changes and installing windows 7, the error is like this. I will introduce the last and 4 that I analyzed:

  • Windows 7 purchased, not activated/validated in the allotted time... help?

Hello! I need to know if there is a way to activate a copy of Windows 7 Professional of after-market facility. My boyfriend bought a laptop about 8 months ago at a friend. His friend has installed a new operating system before selling. Boyfriend is not very gifted in computer science and has not activated within 30 days of activation-registration/product key, because he never uses the laptop. He has paid the initial Windows 7 Professional OS (about $70, as he recollects), but we can talk to the friend, he bought the laptop from the (contracting companies in the Australian Outback), incommunicado. I am now unable to activate/register the Windows 7 operating system and wonder if it is possible to get the OS enabled without having to buy a new OS. I recently bought and installed 2 licenses for Windows OS 8.1 to 2 separate notebooks for me and my son and I would hope to avoid adding another bill of $120 for a new OS installation. Thanks for any help you can offer! ~ Misty Saunders, e-mail - * address email is removed from the privacy *.

I stress tested Pime95 running without problem. I have not found much online that seems to help. I ran the Memtest and Windows memory diagnostics for a few hours each without mistakes to come. • OfficeJet Pro8500 A909a cleans the print heads whenever his touring on!

    Hey elders ~

Why my Officejet Pro8500 A909a short "Clean printhead" feature every time I turn on my printer?  Is there a place I can tell you to STOP?  It's my expensive WASTE.  Help!

    Hi @eschro

You turn off the printer when you are not using it and turn it back on, or are you referring to light once it falls in mode 'sleep'? The following presentation may help explain why the print head cleaning is performed each time you turn on the printer.

The print head nozzles get clogged over time, most commonly by dried ink or microscopic dust particles. Nozzles are kept clean of servicing, including wipe them the surface with a rag rubber, ejecting ink through the nozzles to purge the particles and to prevent drying and pumping with ink to clean the print head. To keep the printer ready to print in color or black, these routines of service generally consume little ink in each cartridge, even if only black or color is used in the document being printed.

Tiny air bubbles form in ink over time and can block the flow of ink in the printhead long duration printers (IIC). In some printers IIC, bubbles of air can be caused by a change in the ink cartridge. Air bubbles can be removed by pumping them out of the print head. When you remove these air bubbles, little ink is also removed. On the IIC systems, multiple colors may use the same print head. When a single color cartridge is changed, some ink is also consumed since the other color ink cartridges using the same print head. - Source

There is no way to disable this feature, but in General, it is best to leave the printer on and allow to maintain on a regular basis, rather than turning off and back on.

I hope that answers your question. Happy Friday, have a great weekend.

  • Lousy print quality no matter how many times I clean and align the printer.

I really like this printer, so don't want to give up on this! Then... color printing is fine. Is the black which is ruin. Clean the printheads several times and the report that prints shows the problem... printing of text is faded in task, lack of parts or lines through the text and others. I've lined up the heads and that works great... have replaced the black ink cartridge, but still the same issue.

Any ideas would be great... we had a paper jam at the time but it is erased, but perhaps it damaged something? Or is it a manual cleaning, I can do that could clarify this?

    THX... ~ Paul

And so... I continued to clean the print heads, repeatedly... dozen or several times and it finally started getting better little by little. Clean them some more and finally got the head to complete alignment properly. Then I'll call this resolved for now, and there you have it... clean, clean and clean...

  • WRT54GL DROPS WAN

Got a wrt54gl with tomato 1.23. He abandoned the WAN (cable modem) connection when the modem itself abandoned the connection for some reason; However after the modem comes back online and tomato shows in his page with the WAN connection as 'connected', you still cannot browse the internet. I know that the modem is good because if I connect directly to a computer, I CAN browse AND if I get (off ramp exit/Activ) powercycle the router, things return to normal. I can reproduce the problem by feeding and turn on the modem, which turns into exactly the same results, tomato showing the WAN that plugged in, but with the navigation impossible.

I've been breaking my head about that person, here is some of the things I've tried:

-With the help of different routers, I have 4 wrt54gl, some more recent that other, newer is fresh out of the box.

-Clear NVRAM memory, doing resets hard.

-The WAN connection is DHCP, tried to "trick" the router static IP, but without being able to navigate.

-Tried checking the ARP tables, routing tables, ifconfig vlan0 downs and UPS (upon entering the router via ssh). Does not work although the paintings look like exactly the same before and after I have to reproduce the problem.

-Cannot ping the gateway given by DHCP, even though the routing tables show the path to him.

-Tried iptables f thorugh the console of the router, no nothing.

-Tried the firmware linksys of origin, with the same results.

N ' use is not apps torrent or something like that, just good old web navigation.

Here is the log of routers (to this day).

Now I have reduced to problems of communication between the modem and the router WHEN the modem disconnects, for some reason, worth mentioning that I CAN see the modem from the local network by going to its web interface, I can't use internet.

Please help me on this one.

Yes, Googling, it (and agree with you) I found that there is a timing issue with this SPECIFIC router, but it is not more than that.

In any case, I found a solution to:

    http://victek.is-a-geek.com/REPOSITORIOS/Linksys/firmware/tomato/scripts/

I used the script gateway2 to basically restart the wan (instead of the router itself) when the gateway does not respond to the ping command. I put this in a chron job every minute. It works, but it's not elegant.

Well, I hope that the most recent routers do not have this problem. I'm waiting for 802.11n to get out (like not really rough). I hope that will be promptly accompanied by openwrt or tomato.

Out of the object, if the sync problem is hardware related (because I guess it is) how could it not be fixed with open firmware? These 54 were long enough.

  • Routers changed; How to reconnect time capsule

Changed to Earthlink DSL to AT & T u-verse fiber and time capsule airport is no longer back up; AT & T set new router; I want to use only the Time Machine backup. What I have to do a hard reset of time capsule? Is there an easier way to reconnect with my iMac? I have now connected time capsule directly in my iMac, but still no recognition. Thank you.

Whenever you change the modem or modem/router, or change service provider, the time Capsule airport must be reset to the default settings and then set it up again to work on the "new" network

A hard reset on the Time Capsule will achieve this goal. Then, make sure that the Ethernet cable connects from one of the four <>- on the Uverse router/modem LAN ports to the "O" on the Time Capsule WAN port.

Set up the time Capsule still... you can use the same name and password if you want, or set up a new name and password if you wish.
