How to erase everything on my computer and start again. Ive got overheated, slow computer, too many mistakes etc tired of him cutting. I think I want to just start again. computer laptop inspiron 1525 Dell. Thank you
Hello
Overheating is normally caused by a build up of dust, but you say you have a computer, not a mobile computer when this happens often.
Here is the Dell reinstall options:
How to reinstall from the Dell recovery partition:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

I have Windows XP Professional, and I do a back up of all the windows files that I need to run windows (I hope) on a second hard drive. I want to create a file recovery from windows on this drive, but when I go in the options backup, I have to pick up the entire computer in order to get this recovery file created. But I don't want to back up all my personal files and programs because that would take in charge the secondary hard drive together. How to create this recovery file without saving the entire hard drive? Thank you.

If you do any type of backup - only circuit, dat, or all - on a second internal bank or a second partition, you are just kidding yourself. It is the lowest form of backup doesn't exist, and is barely better than no backup at all. He let losses likely to be simultaneous to the original and backup for many common dangers: serious power, near the lightning seeds, failures of hard disk (if it's a second partition), virus attacks, even the theft of the laptop.
In my view, secure backup must be on a media removable and not stored in the computer. For backup really secure (necessary, for example, if your company depends on your data), you should have several generations of backup, and at least one of these generations should be stored off-site.

Backup is the entire computer, not last point
Sorry to make a new question - I see a similar one on the sidebar, but can not understand how to put their hands on it. Like her, I am using 5 DVD and an entire afternoon whenever I want to back up. I paid previously for LiveOneCare (I believe was the name) and the back up regularly took 15 minutes - half an hour, on a part of a DVD. That the right program was dropped recently, but of course this CAN BE DONE - then why can't still do us it the same way?
One of the answers from Microsoft talked to choose to back up only the files instead of the entire computer on the wizard. I do not give me the choice. Please fix. I can back up my files, but what of all the downloads/updates etc, guys?
Backup provides a backup option selected files. Simply select the location of the files.

Firefox blocks the entire computer
Firefox beta 11.6 is having my computer freezes constantly and I don't know how to get to an older version of beta?
There are three future versions and a stable. Beta would be more reliable that Aurora and Aurora would be more reliable than every night. The stable is the release version, currently 10.0.1. All future versions can be installed side-by-side with the final version.

Open my pictures slows down the entire computer
I have a Windows XP computer that missed anything when I open my pictures. There are probably only 50 pictures in the file, but get the thumbnails to fill takes all means, making the computer unusable for 20 minutes approximately.
What is the solution?
Thank you
Scotty B
Hello 1ScottyB1,
Thanks for the return of the response. You only experience this problem with your folder "my pictures"? You ran analysis complete with your antivirus software and possibly some type of removal of malware?
Try the steps below and let us know the status.
In Windows Explorer, select 'Tools', then open "Folder Options". From this window, select the "View" tab and check "not to put thumbnails cache. When you reopen your file, it might take some time initially, but see if are able to open the folder quickly after it fills.
Thank you

0x8007045D Won ' t back up the entire computer
I'm trying to back up my computer while an external HD with 300 GB of space (more than enough) with windows to the top. 2 minutes in the back up he abandoned and gives the error message (0x887045D). I did chkdsk on drives and still the same thing. On the files and folders backup it does very well. Any ideas? Thank you.
First of all, how is externally (FAT-32 or NTFS) formatted drive? FAT - 32 imposes a 4 GB file size limit and maybe it's not a problem with the files and folders, but there are some files of the system who may be that large and that would stop the process in its tracks. The only solution to this problem would be to format or convert the disk external drive to NTFS where there is no such limit. If the drive is empty (or you can temporarily move all that is there), it would be better to do a full format (since that would eliminate another potential cause of the problem at the same time).
Second, I couldn't find a single answer looking for this error (with the exception of this thread). Are you sure that you have right?
What version of Vista are you using? An image compllete backup is only available on certain versions. I don't see how you would even be able to start if it was the wrong version, but I'ld confirm you it in any case.
At this point, I would like to give some links for how to make backups in Vista just to be sure, you are using the correct procedures. Image backups are a little different that backup file/fulll.
This is a GREAT article on the backup and restore processes in Vistahttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.backup.aspx , but he won't go into detail about the restoration process - considering almost as easy, of course. But it teaches you a lot about what is possible and how to do it. It also focuses primarily on the full backup process, but he did mention the full backup and restore process as well.

I hope this helps. If this isn't the case, post returns with answers to the questions and answers for the procedures that you have tried. We will see then what are the other options, we can try (if necessary).

* Original title: restart the computer
I just got a new Windows 7 computer, and it has many applications in this shift makes the apps that I really need. How can I completely restart the computer world and lose all files, applications, etc., that came with the computer first
If these are apps you added and want more, you can use the functionality of your computer factory restore. Unfortunately, this erases the disk and leave you with a double précis of his State when you turned on for the first time. Then, you would have to do all the updates of Windows and then install all the programs you want.
Otherwise, use programs uninstaller (from Control Panel) for each application that you do NOT want to uninstall.

I need to do a restore of the entire system with disc received from factory.but that I have personal files and folders that I need keep.such as banking, contacts, photos, ect. ect. How do I put them on a dvd a restore then their return after the full system restore
Hello
If the system still boot and CD/DVD Burns just put in a DVD-R (write once) or DVD - RW (burn
several times)-it will encourage - when its ready use Windows Explorer to drag and drop files (and
their content) on the DVD. When you're ready, click BURN. I would like to make a couple of each DVD for
Security with redundancy. These will not be encrypted and you can access the files out of them or
subsequently copy on a hard drive.Basically, make sure you know what you want to copy the files and put them in a blank DVD to write.

If the system does not start, then you will need to put the drive in another computer or in a

Cleaning of the Satellite A100 - 454 Fan - how?
Hi, I have a Satellite A100-454 and:
-in the past months, the laptop heats up enough quickly
-Since last week, the fan of heats up very quickly (and the entire region under the power and the multimedia keys gets too hot) and the portable computer turns off without any warning. The whole area that gets hot being near the fan, I think it is damaged, or at least with a lot of dust. So I ask, how can I clean it (to my responsibility, of course)?
Best regards, the Portugal
Hello
As you know if you want to clean it properly you need to disassemble your laptop and have access to the cooling fan and cooling grid. If the disassembly procedure must be made according to order of disassembly. Manual maintenance is unfortunately not public document so you can follow the instructions given on this page.
Of course, on your own risk!
