Yes, you can, but not with the free upgrade, you will need to purchase a full license for Windows 10 to do this.

    Hi Prasanth

Yes, that should be possible, but it's a production database or simply a test database.

You can always control in metalink if supported, I don't think it is.

Read this documentation to complete the installation.

Thank you very much, I want to just connect to the server Linux Oracle database.
But I couldn't connect to the Oracle Server Linux server using ssh.
    >

SSH is not a technology allowing to connect to databases.

You will need to install an Oracle client on the Linux server, implemented a tnsnames.ora file that includes the necessary connection information for the database of Windows Server.

See the Linux 11 g Client install Guides here - http://www.oracle.com/pls/db111/portal.portal_db?selected=11&frame=

Then read through the 11 g Net Services (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/network.111/b28316/toc.htm) Administrator's Guide for an overview of connectivity.

    We get the following error:

ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified

How can access us the tables at the entrance to tns newmod because it resides on a server 11g, while tns mod entry is on a 10g Server? (both use the same service name, but are located on different ip addresses)

    Your help is very appreciated.

Have you set TNS_ADMIN variable? Check if you have any additional TNSNAMES file. ORA in your ORACLE_HOME files.

Point A of TN-entry NEWMOD to a host. Load Balancing is not needed.

Try to create the dblink with the connect descriptor.

create database DB_TEST link to connect to SCOTT

  • Need for Raid-1 Setup in Windows 7 operating system.

Aims to set up a House on RAID-1, accessible via Internet server in the future, hopefully with a domain name.

Repeat this process with the same results.
What Miss me to set RAID 1 fault tolerance?

    Hi FSLoar,

Thanks for posting. If I understand your facility, you have a hardware RAID on your motherboard configuration. With this you will not be able to make another RAID using Windows. Because you did the RAID on a level of Windows don't control hardware and looks like it, it's just a disk. If the fault tolerance that you are looking for is actually already in place.

Because it is a hardware raid and not controlled by Windows software RAID, you will not be able to change all of the portions of the mirror and must perform these actions at the level of the BIOS/hardware. If you want to use Windows to control your RAID array you need to format both drives, break the hardware mirror. This will allow Windows to detect this than 2 hard drives. From there, you can go to disk management, convert dynamic disks, and then create your mirror.

I hope this helps. Shawn - Support Engineer - MCP, MCDST

  • Windows 2003 operating system not start

I have installed win2k a dozen times in VMware without any problem. Now, suddenly and unexpectedly my install happens to the party where windows initializes and after restart, the screen returns windwos could not start because it cannot find ntoskrnl.

I think I'm missing something very simple, but it's weird because I have so many good installs, but now can not do a thing. Any ideas?

I would try to start with the installation CD / ISO and do a repair. Do a checksum on the ISO or CD to verify that it is good.

  • MBRC and SYSTEM STATISTICS in Oracle database 10g.

    Hi all

I am performing the upgrade of Oracle 8i Solaris database to Oracle 10 g HP - UX using the exp/IMP.

But I have some doubts about the MBRC and system statistics.

MBRC in Oracle 10 g is adjusted automatically if MBRC parameter is not defined, but I found the value 128 as shown below.
    SQL> select * from v$version;

    BANNER
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    CORE    10.2.0.4.0      Production
TNS for HPUX: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production

    SQL> sho parameter multi

    NAME                                 TYPE                             VALUE
    ------------------------------------ -------------------------------- ------------------------------
    db_file_multiblock_read_count        integer                          128
Also, I made a simple full table scan to test... but read scattered file db performs on 128 blocks. So I don't think that 128 and is automatic, I mean MBRC is not defined in consequence he always uses 128.

The MBRC value affects the performance of the whole base?

About SYSTEM STATISTICS, I found below result:
    SQL> select * from AUX_STATS$
    SNAME                          PNAME                               PVAL1 PVAL2
    ------------------------------ ------------------------------ ---------- --------------------------------------------------
    SYSSTATS_INFO                  STATUS                                    COMPLETED
    SYSSTATS_INFO                  DSTART                                    11-09-2009 04:59
    SYSSTATS_INFO                  DSTOP                                     11-09-2009 04:59
    SYSSTATS_INFO                  FLAGS                                   1
    SYSSTATS_MAIN                  CPUSPEEDNW                     128.239557
    SYSSTATS_MAIN                  IOSEEKTIM                              10
    SYSSTATS_MAIN                  IOTFRSPEED                           4096
    SYSSTATS_MAIN                  SREADTIM
    SYSSTATS_MAIN                  MREADTIM
    SYSSTATS_MAIN                  CPUSPEED
    SYSSTATS_MAIN                  MBRC
    SYSSTATS_MAIN                  MAXTHR
    SYSSTATS_MAIN                  SLAVETHR
Now if it is better NOWORKLOAD or workload, and this server is still in the process of building... so how can I accumulate the workload statistics, as it is not possible to make a high load on this server? Is he really need to collect system statistics, what will happen with stats NOWORLOAD?

I saw no single database where system stats are gathered in our organization with more than 2000 databases.

Thanks for your reply, but there are 2 zip files as seen in the Oracle database software download link | Oracle Technology Network | Oracle

When each file is unzipped, there is a directory of databases each. I agree that there is only 1 setup.exe. So the directory structure might be like below to extract zip files:

    (1) the parent directory say as a record Oracle12c at level 0, I mean as the root.

    (2) the parent directory would have 2 directories named winx64_12c_database_1of2 & winx64_12c_database_2of2, created by the decompression of each zip file respectively.

I hope that my request is clear.

Asking for a response on that.

    Concerning

    LOn

Unfortunately, new Windows raises its ugly head and bites those who cannot see past the pretty buttons they click.

Go back and re-read what sanae posted on "extract to".

When you click a "compressed folder" (zip file) and select "Extract", windows DEFAULT behavior is to extract in a (uncompressed) file the same name as the zip file.  You need to work around this behavior and provide a folder name yourself.  I suggest that simply call you "winx64_12c_database".  Provide this same name of folder when decompressing files 1of2 ("to pull") both 2of2.  Then you will have a unique folder named "winx64 - 12 c" and slot than a single subfolder named "database".

When you "check out" the second file and specify the directory target existing now, windows are going to be asked if you are sure.  Say Yes.
