Clone CARS RDBMS

Hello world

We have our first test RAC Oracle E Business Applications that run, we will need to set up the test environment 2nd EBS on CARS on the same set of servers of the first RAC environment.

The second RAC environment is not a clone of the first CCR environment, we will perform the same steps of our prod environment clone not RAC - EBS, just like the way we did the first RAC environment.

We will need to set up the test environment 2nd under the same cluster and the environment 1, RAC ASM structure.

My puzzle is: how to clone 2nd pair of RAC RDBMS to under the same group of 1 RAC environment?

As long as we could clone the 2nd pair of RAC RDBMS, we could perform the same steps in notes 466649.1, configuring 2nd EBS RAC environment, in respect of the same group.

Please describe the basic steps to achieve this goal.

Thank you

    Hi all

    I need your help in my Oracle RAC 11.2.0.2 to remote host environment cloning. Here's the disc structure

    DGVOT (disc ASM holding OCR and voting disk group)
    DGDATA (disk group ASM containing data files)
    DGFRA (disk group ASM files for fast recovery)

    Remote host is on a different location so cannot use duplicate RMAN with auxiliary channel.
    Have the luxury of downtime so I wanted to take coherent RMAN (Cold Backup)

    SAME structure of the disc is available on remote hosts.

    11.2.0.2 CLusterware (IG) over the oracle binaries are already installed.

    Can any body tell me the steps to
    (1) how to take cold backup on the disk so that I can tar and copy to the remote host
    (2) clone of the database on the remote host
    (3) how do I add the listener for the database and other resources of this databasee clusterware.

    in fact, it's my first clone CARS, so I'm well aware of the steps in detail.

    I went though a lot of notes metalink but nobody fits my needs. your tips will help me a lot

    Kind regards

    Hello

    (1) how to take cold backup on disk so that I can tar and copy to the remote host.

    Use Rman cold backup

    At the stage of the mountain run
    RMAN > backup database archivelog format '%U /dbp ";
    RMAN > backup controlfile current format "%U /ctl";

    Copy these to the remote host backup sets

    (2) clone of the database on the remote host

    Create groups of similar ASM disk as source
    create pfile/spifile, starting in nomount mode instance
    backup set from catalog

    RMAN > catalogue start with "";

    Restore controlfile

    RMAN > restore controlfile;

    RMAN > restore database;

    RMAN > restore database;

    On the success of the recovery

    RMAN > sql 'alter database open;

    (3) how do I add the listener for the database and other resources of this databasee clusterware.

    Srvctl user to add resources

    Use: srvctl []
    orders: activate | Disable | Start | stop | move | status | Add | Remove | change | getenv | setenv | unsetenv | config | convert | upgrade
    objects: database | instance. service | nodeapps | VIP | network | ASM | diskgroup | listener | srvpool | Server | scan | scan_listener | oc4j. House | filesystem | GNS | CVU

  • Re-use of RDBMS schema

    Hello

    I'm going to replace hyperion RDBMS servers not server. Simply, I know, I should install, configure and migrate planning request, Essbase objects, data and security etc. with blank diagram (similar name).

    An option came, we have a clone of RDBMS. Y at - it a shortcut to reuse schemes and reduce the activities of replacement of servers

    We must do all that from scratch, I mean create a fresh scheme with a similar name or different then to install, configure and migrate.

    Worm 9.3.1 planning, Essbase on win 2003

    I would say from blank diagrams and configure products then make migration.

  • Suggestions on cloning

    Hi all

    Nice day..

    Oracle DB version is 10.2.0.4

    Currently I have a Setup CARS of my database of production... due to problem of storage... I need to bring down the server. I can do a CAR no CAR cloning of my db to another server...

    How to make a no RAC RAC cloning... The RAC setup in production remain the same... While restoring the database again to CARS must make rconfig again and make RAC configurations?

    What are the other possibilities I can do... to replicate this database to another server and take the old server same...

    Thank you
    Baskar.l

    Hi Belot,

    do you have you clone CARS to Non - RAC database, and if you do then you can convert again this Non-RAC RAC db again as

    (1) put all the files of data for storage, in the case of ASM, you must migrate your all the data files to ASM diskgroup with RMAN. or if you have a cluster file system and then copy it to the LUNS presented to the machines that were previously under cluster environment.

    (2) but before that, you should have all the care homes, asm and RDBMS like enable clustered houses.

    (3) and then start the database of one of the machine with the House of RDBMS enable clustered.

    (4) will default in the controlfile the maxinstance parameter 8, you can add the instance now as

    from the first machine add the fillets and undo tablespace (undotbs2) for the second instance.

    and set the parameters
    cluster_database = true
    thread = 2 (for the second instance)
    undo_tablespace = undotbs2
    and then try to start the instance of the second machine

  • Apps and DB steps in cloning

    Hello
    I've seen the stages of cloning in this URL http://www.dbspecialists.com/files/presentations/cloning.html

    Apps version: 11.5.10.2

    The steps are:
    1.     Run system configuration on the Application tier:
    <COMMON_TOP>/admin/scripts/<SID>/adautocfg.sh
    Use the APPS password when prompted.
    2.     Run system configuration on the database tier:
    <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>/appsutil/<SID>/scripts/adautocfg.sh
    Use the APPS password when prompted.
    3.     Copy AutoConfig to the RDBMS ORACLE_HOME:
    Apply patch 2952369 to acquire adchkcfg utility.
    Create appsutil.zip file by: perl <AD_TOP>/bin/admkappsutil.pl.
    Copy appsutil.zip file to the <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>
    unzip -o appsutil.zip
    4.     Generate the database context file:
    cd <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>/appsutil/bin
    adbldxml.sh tier=database appsuser=<APPSuser> appspasswd=<APPSpwd>
    Output log is written to: $ORACLE_HOME/appsuti/out/<SID>/cfgcheck.txt
    5.     Generate and apply AutoConfig configuration file:
    cd <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>/appsutil/bin
    adconfig.sh contextfile=<CONTEXT> appspass=<APPSpwd>
    6.     Prepare for source database clone:
    cd <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>/appsutil/scrips/<SID>
    ./perl adpreclone.pl dbTier
    7.     Prepare for source application clone:
    cd <COMMON_TOP>/admin/scripts/<SID>
    ./perl adpreclone.pl appsTier
    8.     Copy the application tier file system:
    Logon to the source system as APPLMGR and shut down the server processes.
    Copy the following application directories from the source to the target node/file system:
       <APPL_TOP>
       <OA_HTML>
       <OA_JAVA>
       <COMMON_TOP/util>
       <COMMON_TOP/clone>
       <806 ORACLE_HOME>
       <iAS ORACLE_HOME>
    Shut down the source database and copy it to the target node/file system.
    Restart the source database and source application server processes.
    9.     Configure the target system database sever:
    cd <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>/appsutil/clon/bin
    ./perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier
    10.     Configure the target system application tier:
    cd <COMMON_TOP>/clone/bin
    ./perl adcfgclone.pl appsTier
    My question is-

    Is it OK to run the steps 1 to 7 on a Production system when users are connected?

    Published by: user7640966 on July 9, 2012 19:24

    Thank you, Hussein.
    When you say bounce services, did you mean apps or db service service or both?

    When you run the AutoConfig on the database layer node, bounce the database services. And, when it is run on the application tier node, bouncing the application services.

    Also tell me if all the steps are required? Can not directly do adpreclone and continue with the steps after that?

    You can run preclone on the databases/applications tier nods. However, it is always recommended that you do the following before you start any clone:

    -Have the latest patches AutoConfig and applied quick Clone (get the documentation referenced in my previous answer patches)
    -Start AutoConfig on the database layer node and make sure that it ends successfully
    -Start AutoConfig on the application tier node and make sure that it ends successfully

    Thank you

    Super car has always been a guy to load discs so am aware of that happening.

    Tips anyone?

    Thanks in advance

    I think you can find what you need in l http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-boot-snow-leopard-from-a-dvdrom.htm

    If who disobeys, then your drive may have problems.

    Further, create a clone bootable on an external HD. You will need either SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to make. Then, when you install a new HD, just boot from the clone and the format, the HD and restore the complete system of the clone.

  • 'Clone' of the project library (.lvlib)

    We have a study on sound localization - move us a speaker with a robotic arm, play sound through the speaker, ask our subjects to point a laser where they perceive the location of the sound and press a button.  We can also turn on LEDs and lasers, adjust sync settings, even to move the sound source.  The various tests are "programmed" by entries into an Excel workbook with columns for the timing, healthy situation, sound settings, etc.  In addition to the Excel workbook, we generate 3 output files - a header file XML that describes the configuration of the recording (analog and digital channel names and scales) and saves the settings of each trial as it is executed, an XML event which records all of the events of "point-in-time", such as Messages, status changes, or modifies the digital I/o, and a file of examples that contains N (usually 16) sampled analog and digital channels sampled at 1 kHz.  We control all of this a LabVIEW Real-time project, which also includes routines to study, manipulate and analyze data of output files.

    The project evolves (slowly) - we are currently at Version 2.0 (Version 1.x was developed in LabVIEW 7.0, this is the complete rewrite 2012/2014, "start from scratch and do it right, or at least better").  We are contemplating adding the ability to study the sounds delivered via stereo headphones (vary the volume from left to right or by adding a small time gap between channels) and calls this Version 2.1.

    To try and prevent "Version hell", we intend to do "backward compatibility" Versions - we will Add some new columns to the workbook Excel for new parameters in headphones, but put in place LabVIEW code to simply "do nothing" (with headphones) if he reads a Version 2.0 workbook where these parameters are lacking.  This allows us to code of Version 2.1 allows to make a Version 2.0 experience.

    We are faced with one of the problems are to know how read and analyze or manipulate data files resulting.  For example, the header file contains specific sets the version of the data, which are analyzed by the XML parser and converted directly into a Cluster of LabVIEW.  Thus a Version 2.0 file must be read by the code who "knows" a Cluster of Trial Version 2.0, whereas a 2.1 file needs a trial 2.1 Cluster.

    When I read the header file, the first thing I encounter is the Version number (2.0 or 2.1).  Knowing this, I could, in principle, use a Case statement to call a Version 2.0 or Version 2.1 analysis routine.  But I am trying to 'avoid a mess', and libraries in the project seems a good way to do so, if I understand how to use them properly.

    [For now, I have to say that I tried a little experiment: I have created a new project, built Library1 in a folder with a 'Hello' and 'Test' Library1, built the library 2 (inside the folder library 2) with 'Hello' and 'Test' (different) and called the high-level.]  Worked well.  I then "took a shortcut" and copied the folder Library1 (outside of LabVIEW) on the menaces3.  When I said that the project to add 3 library, I had a mess of conflicts, which I couldn't resolve.  And I "broke" LabVIEW - even after removing all the .lvlib and the .lvproj files, I couldn't create a project and make a folder to add (Snapshot) without a missing file error to appear.  I did the experiment using LabVIEW 2012 - this problem has affected not only LabVIEW 2012, but also 2013 LabVIEW and LabVIEW 2014, but not LabVIEW 2011.  I spoke with the support of OR, which are also puzzled.  I am currently working in a new virtual machine until I can get LabVIEW "repaired"].

    What I want to do is identify all Version-specific routines in my folder of analysis and include data in this case TypeDefs for the Version-specific parts.  I would then "wrap" all this in a project library Version 2.0.  The code "on the outside" would have its own copy of TypeDefs (she could use the "Latest Version", as external routines are supposed to be 'backward compatibility'.

    So here are my questions.

    1. Suppose that I restructured my project so that I have a record, both "Real" and "Virtual" (in the project) parsing, and it contains a subfolder called Version 2.0 that contains the Version-specific TypeDefs and most of parsing code.  Is there an easy way to transform the Version 2.0 to Version 2.0 Library folder so that when I call functions in this library, they use Version 2.0 of the TypeDefs of the library, regardless of the TypeDefs declared in the main routine?

  • Assuming that I have a folder of Version 2.0 of work and the library, is there an easy way to "clone" to make a folder of Version 2.1 and the library?  If so, all I would need to do the "work" for Version 2.1 of the code would replace TypeDefs of Version 2.0 in the file of Version 2.1 with the "correct" TypeDefs, and (b) add any additional analysis code is required for the new features in the new Version.
  • I apologize for the long-winded nature of this issue.  I look for tutorials on libraries of the project (there are), but none covered this topic.  To pay for your patience, I am happy to write and submit to the OR for a future white paper on libraries of the project - which would speak?

    Bob Schor

    PS - Moderator - if it belongs to another Forum, feel free to move it.

    On the money Bob!  Save under... Duplicate the hierarchy to the new location (requires that the new library offers a new name)

    To convert a virtual folder to a lvlib just to create a new lvlib in the project and move the project members want in the new lvlib Project Explorer does the rest of the book nitty gritty on registration of the members of the lvlib with the new property information.  (You will be prompted to save the members when the composition is changed)

    And Yes, it's the kind of mistake you don't do twice.  And, believe it or not, I had this type of issue used to justify not using projects! "they are too much hassle when you mud round in windows Explorer ' then I asked them if the never borrowed the car of their father and did not him tell you parked above on the next Street.  They now use projects.

  • I want to clone my original equipment existing 500 GB HARD drive to a new 1 TB HARD drive replacement. How?

    G ' Day,.

    I'm getting too big for my old 500 GB HARD drive, so I bought a new 1 TB HARD drive.

    Now I have all of the rescue disks that I made when I first got my laptop Compaq Presario CQ57-105TU . I could use them & fresh install all software & original OS, but then I have to start from scratch and re-install all the software I have installed, in addition to redo all adjustments & changes I made to the Windows 7 operating system since the first day - a year ago.

    Not really how I want to spend the next week or two around.

    I would like to clone the orig 500 GB HDD & all of its content to a new 1 TB of HARD drive.

    Sounds like where I want to go, but for 1 small question. I heard that if I just I'll have about 500 GB of space available new but I was also told that I will not be able to create new partitions of disk on the new HARD drive because of any existing partitions on the original HARD disk are created.

    1. is this true?

    2. in the case, where can I find a failsafe procedure to accomplish the clone, & then create 2 new partitions to cover the free space on the new drive.

    3. If so, is there a work around? If there is what is the procedure (plse give me cramps of brain with the jargon of techno... tnx)

    Some additional information that might be important.

    At the present time, my HARD drive has this configuration:

    Now that (Q) Local drive is diferent.  It shows 0 bytes available & 0 bytes used, & I don't have access to it.

    Computer of my wife... another laptop CQ62 model... also has the same drive,

    but hers is labeled as Microsoft Office 2010 Starter... as 0 bytes available & used - also no access, & as below, not showing is not in Dmgt.

    This drive does not appear in my Configuration of MANAGEMENT OF RECORDS : http://i.imgur.com/r4LPrDa.jpg

    Thanks for your time & consideration... Bobby

    Him early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese

    OK...'s done it!

    I used my CLONING HDD DOCKING STATION friends exactly like this, but he bought from a different seller 2 years ago.

    All I did was take my 500 GB drive original & placed in A slot (the front slot - Master) & I placed the new Toshiba 1 TB disk in slot B (the second slot behind Slot A... Middle - Slave). I turned the power on the box. I waited until readers spun & were ready, & I don't have a press the red button on the box...

    25% light started to blink & cloning began...

    About 40 minutes later 50% light began to Flash & the 25% brightness has remained stable.

    This means that 25%of the process has been done, & he went to 50%. .

    This sequence was continued until finally all the lights were on fixed (25% to 100%) which means that the clone was complete.

    I think it took about 2 hours and 15 minutes to clone completely.

    I closed the box power off. Then, I removed the two discs.

    I installed the new drive in the laptop carefully, & reinserted the battery, & I plugged power/charger/adapter sector of the laptop.

    Then, I ran into my fingers & press work / laptop computer shutdown.

    A few seconds my laptop has been as always to initialize.  I just had to check to make sure that I have installed the new drive... & Yes the one on the desk was the original, no doubt which means that my laptop startup disk was indeed the new drive I cloned just to.

    My laptop is started without fault!  without a hitch. Just as he always had.

    I used my computer management Administrative tool - disk management & made a simple volume for the 450 + GB of free space, affecting the next letter available player - in my car (F) case & I named it so.

    Everything worked perfectly, I can read & write on the new partition/volume. As I mentioned previously, I probably won't be able to start from scratch, but my drive (C), but it's fine for me.

    So, what have I learned?

    Well, first of all, my Compaq Presario CQ57-105TU can go to 1 TB of HARD drive without modification.

    Using the cloning method, I did no doubt saved full at least 1 weeks of resettlement work if I selected the new installation method using backup/rescue disks when the computer was first, I created started way back when.

    Outside the 2 + hours time, it took to clone the drive, 15 +/-minutes initially to remove & reinstall the drive, & the time it took to assign the new free space a drive letter (every 5-10 minutes) the procedure was clearly simple cut, I know could have been done differently, but not as simply as the method I chose.

    Pepe, thank you much for the time you spent researching my issues & responding to my message.

    I'm so glad all your fears & roadblocks have been made not, & in the end, it was possible to accomplish the task against our initial concerns - count in a very loose way with the greatest ease.

    Here are some pictures of the Station of Clone (the box) exactly like the one I used:

    Congratulations to all,

  • How do I clone the mSATA drive in my Inspiron 17R 7720?

    I have two almost identical Inspiron 17R laptop 7720; one that I bought new from Dell 4 years and one that I bought used a couple of weeks. Both have identical hardware with the following exceptions: my original has a Core i7 processor and a 32 GB mSATA drive, while the new has a Core i5 processor and no mSATA drive. Hard drives, video, memory, etc. are all the same on both computers.

    I bought a car identical mSATA for the new computer and try to clone the mSATA and the old computer's HARD drive, so I have two identical computers. I tried cloning of disks using Macrium Reflect. Cloned HARD drive successfully, but reflects only concludes a 8 GB partition not formatted on the old disk mSATA, not all 32GB. I cloned the new drive mSATA and tried in my old computer it correctly identified the drive but it was not valid, said RAID 0 volume and asked me to change my drive to non-RAID configuration.

    Any thoughts on how I can clone the old mSATA disc correctly to the new?

    You can't clone this player.  What you need to do is set up the Intel IRST again.

    Fortunately, I ran the same script for ORACLE11G it works and DB is also copied to 11G.

    Team,

    What worries me is... same scenario for 9i works very well in 11g means what's the features I can include for 11g (what I might have missed)

    NOTE: WITHOUT RMAN

    Please suggest.
    Oracle 11g backup/cloning is the same as 9i as steps above. ?  Please suggest I can include measures to which has the advantages of 11 g. (without RMAN)

    Please Guide

    It gave me 10 days to complete the script. I can't give the same script for the management team... I'm worried.

    I will include 11 g features in the script after that copy DB is finished.

    Please highlight from DB 11g features I can include

    Thank you

    As mentioned earlier, all or the features to be added depends on many factors i.e. you have the use of this feature, are you allowed to use this etc etc. If you are a developer, someone see what features you used in any other 11g of your environment. Your script should do the part of cloning. Features added in the cloned part can happen later.

  • OBIEE Disaster Recovery can be configured without CARS and shared storage?

    Hi people,

    As say the topic, I'm looking for advice on disaster recovery. What I find in the docs pointing me to the high availability configuration, or maybe I'm simply not find the docs I'm looking for. And it always points to the RAC, etc. of shared storage. My database is already configured to Dataguard and I want to do things this way, with a recovery site which isn't always upwards and a part of a cluster (although it's very well as long as the CAR is not involved), I'm looking for some feedback on how people do things. I have 11.1 now, but will be upgrading to 12.2 soon.  Just a straight stitch to the documentation would be useful if I'm missing just that.

    Thank you

    -Adam

    Since you have already configured Dataguard and in a DR situation, you will be switching/switch on your course in standby mode and it will active db. All this is fine. You can do the same with instances of weblogic OBIEE. You can clone your binaries installed using tools provided by Oracle cloning, or build binaries from weblogic with the accurate determination of drive on your Dr. use the pack of weblogic server and then unzip tool to archive your entire weblogic domain and it Unarchive in your prepared DR server.

    Now, you have to just challenge the hostname (s) of your domain to point to your database JDBC data sources and weblogic.

    To facilitate the task, you can change the host name used by weblogic to host alias that can be remapped in DNS during DR. Similarly, you can change the JDBC connection string so that it can automatically select the active database as long as you use a database instead of a SID service name in the connection string.

    You will need to regularly make a pack on your weblogic domain in order to maintain an up-to-date backup of your domain proximity. Similarly, if you have reports that are stored on the file system, they must also be backed up regularly so that they can be restored.
