  • cloning of EBS 11i, AIX 5 L

    Hi friends,

    I am cloning EBS 11i, AIX 5 L on the same server.
    Currently we have on the server @user oracle EBS 11i PROD.
    I want to clone to EBS 11i TEST on the same server, oracle2 @user.
    Things I've done:
    1. run autoconfig

    3. copy appl and db of the file to the new location for the user oracle2.
    4. run the user oracle2 cloning.

  • EBS 11i clone question

    Hi all
    It's been a while that I cloned our EBS 11i.
    We used to have an identical structure on applications and db between environments Prod, Uat, and Crp levels. Some time ago, we moved our Prod d/b on the SAN. So, now I have datafiles, redo logs and control files in different places then before. In production, they are now in/prod/oraprd/oracle/data, / prod/oraprd/oracle/redo/prod/oraprd/oracle/control.
    UAT, they are in the directory/uat/orauat/data.
    My question is: after I start an adpreclone.pl and copy the files on Uat, then unzip them in appropriate directories, can I then move to the init.ora parameter and change the locations of the control files?
    After that, change (IRPP) and rebuild controlfile prior to execution adcfgclone.pl?

    Thank you
    Eugene

    epipko wrote:
    So, in my case, if I have some data/logs/from recovery from 3 directories in prod in 1 directory of the Uat, I just answer 1 question 'Number of DATA_TOP on the system target' and everything will be built properly?

    Fix.

    Thank you

  • Cloning by rman on a different server with the directory structure different and different DBNAME in EBS 11i using quick Clone

    Hello

    We want only DB (not apps) cloning through PROD rman, step TEST EBS 11i using quick Clone without taking downtime of PROD (i.e. No. BKP COLD).

    Source and target are on different servers, different file structure and the different database name.

    Kindly let me know the detailed procedure?

    Kind regards

    RR

    You can use this simple method that I am.

    Take backup of production with rman:

    {

    overlap archivelog all;

    backup format compressed backupset database tag PROD_FULLBKP ' / u10/PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125/PROD_DB_set%s_piece%p_%T_%U' filesperset 15;

    SQL 'alter database backup controlfile to trace. "

    SQL 'alter system switch logfile;

    SQL 'alter system switch logfile;

    SQL 'alter system switch logfile;

    overlap archivelog all;

    backup as compressed backupset archivelog all delete input PROD_ARCHBKP format tag ' / u10//PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125/ARCH_PROD_set%s_piece%p_%T_%U' filesperset 20;

    backup format ' / u10/PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125/PROD_ctl_%T_%U' current controlfile;

    }

    Move the backup on the test server:

    SCP /ftp

    Modify the pfile to the test server:

    Parameters such as:

    db_name

    control_files

    modify the pfile to match the location of the test server

    Add this parameter

    db_file_name_convert = ' / PROD_datafile_location/datafile ', ' / test_datafile_location / data ', ' / PROD_datafile_location/tempfile ', ' / test_datafile_location / data.

    log_file_name_convert = ' / PROD_redofile_location/ONLINELOG ', ' / test_redofile_location / data ".

    Start the DB:

    Start the db in nomount:

    startup nomount.

    Connecting to rman and start to restore:

    Auxiliary RMAN.

    RMAN > run

    {

    allocate auxiliary channel a1 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channels a2 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channel a3 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channel a4 device type disk;

    data duplicated in the PREPRODUCTION backup location ' / u10/PREPRODUCTION/oraR12/clone_backup/PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125 ";

    }

    OR

    If you specify time/perform a recovery of time based, like below:

    RMAN > run

    {

    allocate auxiliary channel a1 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channels a2 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channel a3 device type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channel a4 device type disk;

    data duplicated in PREPRODUCTION backup location 'LOCATION_OF_BACKUP', until ' TO_DATE (7 July 2012 09:45 ',' DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI:SS') ";

    }

  • RHEL 6 for EBS 11i (11.5.10.2)

    Hi hussein.

    I posted a thread here before on our company to buy or upgrade to a newer server which is of high quality and with more processors and memory.

    We are currently running EBS 11i (11.5.10.2) on the current server, which is about 6 years old. It is the single node only and running RHEL 4.6.

    Now, due to degradation of performance, we purchase newer machines which will be a two-node configuration. The machine seller said that the os it runs on will be RHEL 6.

    My question is... RHEL 6 supported in EBS 11i? I can clone the existing PROD EBS 11i, located on RHEL 4.6 to
    the new servers target running on RHEL 6?

    Thank you very much

    Mrs. Mina

    My question is... RHEL 6 supported in EBS 11i?

    Either you need to install RHEL4 and RHEL5.

    I can clone the existing PROD EBS 11i, located on RHEL 4.6 to
    the new servers target running on RHEL 6?

    If you install RHEL5, you can use quick Clone to clone from RHEL4 to RHEL5.

    Please see the docs for a list of pre - req software. and packages on RHEL5/OEL5

  • EBS 11i Exim 9i to 11 GR 2

    Hi all

    EBS 11i

    9.2.0.6

    OEL5

    We have a plan to upgrade the database to GR 11, 2.

    We do the upgrade on another game of the new server to prod and let the original prod in its normal process so that we'll always have a backup in parallel or a fallback option.

    Since the upgrade to the new prod server took longer due to a lot of patches, can we just export import data from the old server to the new server? just to refresh the data on our new updated Setup?

    Thank you very much

    MK

    Please, do NOT post content of docs MOS, I believe that we have explained why many times!

    You must upgrade to GR 11, 1 material before starting the export/import. If this approach is not acceptable, then you cannot use import/export.

    Thank you

  • Interoperability Notes Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle Database 11 g 2 (11.2.0.1)

    Hi hussein.

    EBS 11i
    DB 9.2.0.6 > upgrade to 9.2.0.8 > > to 11.2.0.1
    RHEL 4.6

    I applied all the patches pre-required for the upgrade of database. There are tasks almost 35 that I did.
    not including the database of GR 11, 2 of which I am still installing.

    I am now to install the GR 2 11 again a new home, by instruction of docs.

    As usual the installation of RPM linux prerequisites, which are:
    RHEL4

    binutils-2.15.92.0.2
    compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3
    elfutils-libelf-0.97
    elfutils-libelf-devel-0.97
    gcc-3.4.6
    gcc-c++-3.4.6
    glibc-2.3.4-2.41
    glibc-common-2.3.4
    glibc-devel-2.3.4
    glibc-headers-2.3.4
    libaio-devel-0.3.105
    libaio-0.3.105
    libgcc-3.4.6
    libstdc++-3.4.6
    libstdc++-devel-3.4.6
    make-3.80
    numactl-0.6.4.i386
    pdksh-5.2.14
    sysstat-5.0.5
    I ask the above required patches if they are already installed on our server.
    I used this query:
    rpm -qa 'binutils-*'
    rpm -qa 'compat-libstdc++-*'
    rpm -qa 'elfutils-libelf-*'
    rpm -qa 'elfutils-libelf-devel-*'
    rpm -qa 'gcc-*'

    rpm -qa 'make-*'
    rpm -qa 'numactl-*'

    And I got the ff: output

    I mounted the RHEL 4 DVD Installer and I am looking for the following hotfixes:
    I use the following command to search:

    Thank you very much

    My question is, I have made the right choice?

    Yes.

    I have taken note of some of the following:
    example:

    The number of ROUNDS required is > gcc 3.4.6
    But the CD has > gcc - 3.4.3 - 9.EL4.i386.rpm

    Who's down right? Can I still use it?

    No, you must use the exact (or higher) version.

    If not, my question is: why Oracle asked for a more recent version of the DVD
    Installer can offer? Do I need to use the RHEL 5 DVD Installer instead?

    No, use up2date or download the package from the internet (I think you already have Web sites) and apply it.

    Thank you

  • Server Linux for EBS 11i upgrade

    Hi all

    EBS 11i
    RHEL 4.6

    Our EBS 11i is running on server HP with OS 4.6 RHEL and a single node only. This server was purchased 6 years ago and lately it is show the performance degradation. We want to migrate/upgrade to a model like high-end HP and make a knot of multiples. But the latest HP model doesn't support a minimum version of RHEL 5.
    My question is, is the support for EBS cloning 11i RHEL 4.6 to RHEL 5? How can I migrate EBS 11i with this kind of scenario?

    Thank you very much

    SIS Inday

    Hello

    It is supported on the database layer node, so there should be no problem in the migration of the database.

    Thank you

    No it should not be modified in TARGET. in the file system TARGET will remain same as source.

    Of course how do not support this approach, but on source to change the file system to run for FS1 and run adpreclone and check.

    No doubt, when you ran adpreclone on the source, which was executed at this time file system. I just wanted to be sure.
