EBS 11i clone question
Hi allIt's been a while that I cloned our EBS 11i.
We used to have an identical structure on applications and db between environments Prod, Uat, and Crp levels. Some time ago, we moved our Prod d/b on the SAN. So, now I have datafiles, redo logs and control files in different places then before. In production, they are now in/prod/oraprd/oracle/data, / prod/oraprd/oracle/redo/prod/oraprd/oracle/control.
UAT, they are in the directory/uat/orauat/data.
My question is: after I start an adpreclone.pl and copy the files on Uat, then unzip them in appropriate directories, can I then move to the init.ora parameter and change the locations of the control files?
After that, change (IRPP) and rebuild controlfile prior to execution adcfgclone.pl?
Thank you
Eugene

So, in my case, if I have some data/logs/from recovery from 3 directories in prod in 1 directory of the Uat, I just answer 1 question 'Number of DATA_TOP on the system target' and everything will be built properly?
Fix.
Thank you
Hussein

Hello
We want only DB (not apps) cloning through PROD rman, step TEST EBS 11i using quick Clone without taking downtime of PROD (i.e. No. BKP COLD).
Source and target are on different servers, different file structure and the different database name.
Kindly let me know the detailed procedure?
Kind regards
RR
You can use this simple method that I am.
Take backup of production with rman:
{
overlap archivelog all;
backup format compressed backupset database tag PROD_FULLBKP ' / u10/PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125/PROD_DB_set%s_piece%p_%T_%U' filesperset 15;
SQL 'alter database backup controlfile to trace. "
SQL 'alter system switch logfile;
SQL 'alter system switch logfile;
SQL 'alter system switch logfile;
overlap archivelog all;
backup as compressed backupset archivelog all delete input PROD_ARCHBKP format tag ' / u10//PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125/ARCH_PROD_set%s_piece%p_%T_%U' filesperset 20;
backup format ' / u10/PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125/PROD_ctl_%T_%U' current controlfile;
}
Move the backup on the test server:
SCP /ftp
Modify the pfile to the test server:
Parameters such as:
db_name
control_files
modify the pfile to match the location of the test server
Add this parameter
db_file_name_convert = ' / PROD_datafile_location/datafile ', ' / test_datafile_location / data ', ' / PROD_datafile_location/tempfile ', ' / test_datafile_location / data.
log_file_name_convert = ' / PROD_redofile_location/ONLINELOG ', ' / test_redofile_location / data ".
Start the DB:
Start the db in nomount:
startup nomount.
Connecting to rman and start to restore:
Auxiliary RMAN.
RMAN > run
{
allocate auxiliary channel a1 device type disk;
allocate auxiliary channels a2 device type disk;
allocate auxiliary channel a3 device type disk;
allocate auxiliary channel a4 device type disk;
data duplicated in the PREPRODUCTION backup location ' / u10/PREPRODUCTION/oraR12/clone_backup/PROD1_L0_BKUP_20131125 ";
}
OR
If you specify time/perform a recovery of time based, like below:
RMAN > run
{
allocate auxiliary channel a1 device type disk;
allocate auxiliary channels a2 device type disk;
allocate auxiliary channel a3 device type disk;
allocate auxiliary channel a4 device type disk;
data duplicated in PREPRODUCTION backup location 'LOCATION_OF_BACKUP', until ' TO_DATE (7 July 2012 09:45 ',' DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI:SS') ";

RHEL 6 for EBS 11i (11.5.10.2)
Hi hussein.
I posted a thread here before on our company to buy or upgrade to a newer server which is of high quality and with more processors and memory.
We are currently running EBS 11i (11.5.10.2) on the current server, which is about 6 years old. It is the single node only and running RHEL 4.6.
Now, due to degradation of performance, we purchase newer machines which will be a two-node configuration. The machine seller said that the os it runs on will be RHEL 6.
My question is... RHEL 6 supported in EBS 11i? I can clone the existing PROD EBS 11i, located on RHEL 4.6 to
the new servers target running on RHEL 6?
Thank you very much

Either you need to install RHEL4 and RHEL5.
I can clone the existing PROD EBS 11i, located on RHEL 4.6 to

There is a special process for the physical database of EBS to standby dataguard configuration?
I was able to configure the physical standby for its database, but if you try to shift from the primary to the standby mode, the standby cannot log command.
Help, please...

Hi all
I solved my problem now. I'm just being dumb of me
In the init.ora, I see that there comment #.
#log_archive_start = true
Since it's the eve before db, it did not matter if its commented out.
But when I switch to it, now, the question to which it can not automatically archive the online redo, it is why ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE wait forever
Thank you ALL.

Discoverer 11 to connect to EBS 11i
Hi allIM currently able to connect EBS 11i (11.5.10.2) use DIscoverer desktop 4 (4.1.48.06) on RHEL 4
I installed DIscoverer desktop 11 (11.1.1.3.0) and try to connect to the same instance ebs 11i but he says
"Unable to connect to discoverer@ABC.

I connect with the user of 'discoverer' for both versions
My question is what to do so that I'll be able to connect with the two explorers 4 & 11 on ebs 11.5.10.2
OS: RHEL 4.6
Discoverer 11: 11.1.1.3

Thank you.
Please confirm that you have followed all the steps (using discoverer 11.1.1 with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i (Doc ID 1073963.1)).
Why do you need to have access to both discoverer 4i and 11g? 4I discoverer is no longer supported - https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/reminder_discoverer_4i_desuppo

Thank you and best regards,

My question is what oracle_home of database we must consider to upgrade R12? and what about another an oracle_home?
When you run a quick installation, please provide details of the 11.2.0.3 already set to day/install ORACLE_HOME.
For 11 GR 1 ORACLE_HOME material that is installed by a quick installation, please see (how upgrade Oracle E-Business Suite 11i 12.1.1 to and keep the existing Database 10 g? (Doc ID 1345020.1)).

No, you must use the exact (or higher) version.
If not, my question is: why Oracle asked for a more recent version of the DVD

Server Linux for EBS 11i upgrade
Hi all
EBS 11i
RHEL 4.6
Our EBS 11i is running on server HP with OS 4.6 RHEL and a single node only. This server was purchased 6 years ago and lately it is show the performance degradation. We want to migrate/upgrade to a model like high-end HP and make a knot of multiples. But the latest HP model doesn't support a minimum version of RHEL 5.
My question is, is the support for EBS cloning 11i RHEL 4.6 to RHEL 5? How can I migrate EBS 11i with this kind of scenario?
Thank you very much
SIS IndayHello
It is supported on the database layer node, so there should be no problem in the migration of the database.
Thank you

Hi friends,
EBS 11i
Oracle DB 9.2.0.6
RHEL 4.6
I just encountered error in our database ora-1653 in the APPS_TS_QUEUES tablespace, and he has two data files, namely:
According the metalink notes, I made the order:SQL> select file_name, AUTOEXTENSIBLE from dba_data_files where tablespace_name='APPS_TS_QUEUES'; FILE_NAME AUT -------------------------------------------------- --- /u02/oracle/oaproddata/a_queue02.dbf YES /u02/oracle/oaproddata/a_queue01.dbf YES
ALTER database datafile '/u02/oracle/oaproddata/a_queue01.dbf' autoextend on;
ALTER database datafile '/u02/oracle/oaproddata/a_queue02.dbf' autoextend on;
But it does not solve the question :(
Do you think I need to bounce that lets database users out their login forms data entry?
I tried to do this:
alter tablespace APPS_TS_QUEUES add datafile ' / u02/oracle/oaproddata/a_queue03.dbf' size 500M;
and the problem was solved.
I don't understand why "autoextend" was not working :(
Please clear my doubts...
Thank you very much
Ms. KHello
How can we avoid hitting?
Write a notice/alert to monitor errors in the database log file, so it can be mailed to you as soon as you receive an error ORA-XXXXX.
I read that all areas of storage should be auto-exntend on. But I know that I've done. How can I check all that storage space were autoextend on successfully? Should which data dictionary tables I check?
It is mentioned by you in your first post.
You can also view these documents:

Hi hussein.
Based on your experience, or even just your estimate.
Which is faster or easier to do?* Upgrade/migration EBS 11i to EBS R12.1 (Application Tier)
thank you very much,.
* Update/migration (its database) 9i (9.2.0.4) to 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.1) (DB level)
Ms. KHello
Update the database from 9i to 11g would take less time as Oracle E-Business Suite 11i to R12 upgrade.
Again, it is a question of material resources and specifications.
Thank you
