My computer slows down and the Task Manager shows firefox.exe* very high CPU usage.

You can try disabling OMTC and leave hardware acceleration in active Firefox.

    • topic: config page: layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled = false

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

You can check if there is an update for your display driver graphic card and search for hardware acceleration of related issues.

  • Reset the power Windows 7 settings

    Hello!

Although I have configured my laptop mode NOT sleep when I close the lid and it worked several times, this setting no longer works after installing updates. The parameters themselves do not change, just the behavior. I tried to take them by default, and then change them to how I want to (and no NOT to enter the mode standby when the lid is closed), but the laptop is still mode standby when the lid is closed...

Any ideas where I can start troubleshooting?

    Thank you

    Catalin

    Bucharest, Romania.

    Hi CatalinD,

First of all, I would say that you update the drivers for the graphics card from the computer and check:

    1. click on Start.
    2. enter Device Manager to launch the search.
    3. expand display adapters in the Device Manager window.
    4. right click on the device.
    5. click on Properties.
    6. click on Driver tab.
    7. click on update drivers.
    8. click on OK.

Check if the exclamation points are displayed with the device. The exclamation point indicates a problem with the installed driver.

See the link for update drivers: update a hardware driver that is not working properly: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work properly

If the problem persists, you can try to disable the command prompt sleep mode option, follow these steps:
    1. click on Start.
2 type CMD.exe in the search to start.
    3. right click the command prompt.
    4. click on run as administrator.
    5. type the following command: powercfg-h off.

Now, restart the computer and check.

If the problem persists, try "Disabling Hybrid Sleep Mode" follow the steps below.
    1. open the Control Panel in the start menu.
    2. open the Power Options in the control panel.
    3. Select change plan settings next to the power plan that you want to disable hybrid sleep.
4 Select change advanced power settings.
    5. Select change settings that are currently unavailable in the Power Options window.
    6. the value Allow hybrid sleep under sleep off and then click OK to save the changes.

How to solve this problem in every night?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

  • In Firefox the bottom window shows that the window is maximized.

For some reason any, whenever Firefox is maximized, part of the browser window's display down at the bottom of the screen. I don't know why it does this. I tried to disable the Restorer Classic theme and it does not go far, I tried to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox and it has yet to go away. I use a laptop computer with a touch screen built in and I noticed that whenever I scroll upward along a page using the touchscreen, it starts glitching where the window will try repeatedly to shake down and find. I think it has something to do with why continues to display the lower part. Other that that, there isn't any other problem with him.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

I've just updated to 30.0 on my laptop. I've never had problems before and now when I open Firefox the browser window is reduced by half. I closed and reopened the browser and have even restarted my computer and I can't find something in the settings. I can't do what I usually do with the window this small.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance

  • I use the Beta version. How to discern the private in the normal window window. They are the same.

I still works with Windows XP and I'm using the Beta version of Firefox 29,0. I usually use the normal browser window, but sometimes will open a private window. In the past, before moving on to the beta Version of Firefox, a small mask icon will appear in the new window, indicate that it is in private mode. Now when I open a window in private mode, nothing appears to indicate this fact. The window is identical to the normal browser window.
    (1) would be what my browser is glitching and just open a regular and not a private window?
    (2) if there is a glitch how to fix it and if not how can I ensure the browser I use IS in private mode if there is no indicator?

I'm using Linux and see the private browsing mode purple on the bar tab in a new private window, so I guess that it should always be there on Windows as well.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
