• Check the coding guidelines?

  Hello
  as a java developer and python, I usually check coding guidelines (semi-) automatically with tools like pylint or checkstyle. But I have not found a similar tool for ActionScript. I found instructions like http://blog.dclick.com.br/2007/02/13/adobe_flex_coding_guidelines_english/ by Fabio Terracini, but not coding tools.
  Made a stuffed animal - / checkstyle - like tool exist? Use the wrong with google/google groups search criteria? Someone "hacked" a tool java/javascript to take in charge of ActionScript?

  There is no tool yet checkstyle for ActionScript 3 there.

  For coding guides, there is no strict coding guides imposed on developers by Adobe

  You have already found the guides shared publicly known only coding made by one of the commercial company...

  In my company, we created a set of guides, which is partially documented in internal Wiki of coding, but we had never took care to make these guidelines of public code...

  Sorry for the lack of development in this area, but as far as I KNOW the way it is currently in ActionScript 3 world...

  RIM provides no standard coding guidelines for the development of BlackBerry applications.  You can follow standards relavent for the language you are using (Java, HTML, JavaScript, ActionScrip, MXML, etc...).

• XQuery coding standards

  Is there any XQuery codification of the standards to serve at the OSM?
  Or Oracle provides all of these standards for naming conventions, the names of variables, respect for case-sensitive etc.?
  Or are the standards similar to what we follow for Java?

  OSM does not dictate a set of XQuery coding guidelines, as it does not for Java. Normally coding guidelines (be it for Java, XQuery or other technologies) would be defined for a given project, based on the best practices and experiences of the system integrator or Service provider that implements OSM.

  Given that XQuery is a standard language for the industry, we encourage you to follow the best practices in the industry.

  In general, for the code of XQuery product team OSM written that we follow him style and style Java naming conventions where possible. It is a convention that we find reasonable given our team regularly writes and comments both XQuery and Java code with the same naming convention is logical.

• Scripting VI - implementation order of the objects in the public Service

  I have an application where I use VI scripting to move things around, on the façade of a bunch of VI s to conform to the coding guidelines.  One of the problems I have is that some objects are above other objects (when what they are supposed to be behind other objects).  I can't try to understand how to use VI script to make a point about the FP at the top (or back) another object (LV2012sp1).

• Declaring Variables of types in ActionScript ValueObject.

  Since the tutorials went through net I always saw that the authors used a (underlined) _ each time to declare a private inside the ValueObjects ActionScript Variable.

  Can you please tell me why is the underscore (_) is required when dealing with the private variables.

  It's just a naming convention adopted in coding and a best practice... nothing more than that...

  Especially in Flash, we used for that adopt and same follwoed in Flex as well.

  Especially it meaning is using the set and get methods in Flex... see below

• Not Null on the column of a primary key constraint

  I came across a table defined in the same way to...

  Of course, the primary key is the is not null, then is there a reason to add the redundant constraint not null?

  There are two parts to your question, I think:

  (1) why add a NOT NULL if a primary key is also reported.
  (2) why is null is NOT a name defined by the user (in this case nn_t_id).

  1 > I think you are right: there is no difference in behavior in the way that Oracle is going to reject the creation of NULL in this column (whether through the direct insert or update with a NULL value). I personally always declares the NOT NULL for columns, I know to never have null, regardless of whether the column is (member of) a PK.

  It's pretty funny, btw, the SQL standard as chosen able to be the NULL default value. I think that we all type much less, if the SQL standard chose NOT NULL default value. But that's another story.

• I want to drag contacts into folders to organize them rather than color coded categories.

  I want to drag the contacts, while in the address book, in folders to organize them rather than color coded categories. Example, I have a folder called "Active CUSTOMERS" and I want to move to a folder titled "Past CLIENTS".

  Also, I drag messages into folders that works well, but when I try to move all of a folder of messages under a different title, I often put in place the new folder and copy and paste all the messages. It's tedious.

  I can't believe there are not many people in sales who want to put in place their clients in different folders. It would really clean up your address book so you don't always go through thousands of email addresses. I know that I can sort the color-coded categories, but this is slow compared to drag the contact into a folder.

  Please feel free to send me suggestions. My contacts duplicated and screwed up in Windows Live and now I need to sort out about 5 000 contacts - I already managed to get rid of exact duplicates but there will still be a lot of work. [email protected]

• Why web pages designed by FrontPage appear in anything other than a bold font when the coding is for normal characters?

  I resolved to myself.

  After digging the question (there is a post in the communities of Apple Support by Paul Derby 'Blocks Google's IPv6 email receipt sent by OS X Server'), I found the hack to force postfix to use IPv4 only not for work.
