Collage of guest VM

Can I group comments to a vSwitch (vds or standard) interfaces?

I want to prototype a virtual router that could replace at least part, LB functions.

It doesn't have the ability to perform L3 routing before the virtual machine, in fact, we have a single VIP (or router/nexthop etc.) which will be hosting the guest virtual computer on a network of L2.

I have a LAG (LACP) connection between the vSwitch and external physical (4x10Gbps or QSFP + interfaces - so we have (>) 40Gbps connection to the host), as well as connections will be statistically distributed across all interfaces (~ estimate connections unique > 1 M, so LACP is balanced).

Which means we have a possible L2 40Gbps network between the physical switch and the guest of computer virtual, but I need the same LACP capacity between the guest and the vSwitch. Guests certainly support (such as the Linux LACP link), and his confirmation as I did the same bare metal of the OS on the host computer it managed network as expected load, but is not a very efficient use of hardware host for 95% of the time (the average load is of ~ 20Gbps and host CPU/RAM are never more than 25% of full load).

Is this possible? Other options for a single person to manage more than the 10 Gbps for a single address MAC the vmxnet3 duplicates would allow?

A virtual machine cannot form an etherchannel/LAG with a vSwitch, in fact the vSwitch is completely invisible to the virtual machine, but this should not be necessary in the first place:

It seems that your general assumption is because the virtual machine has a unique vNIC which emulates a liaison 10GBASE-T, it is not able to exceed this bandwidth. It is a common misconception.

Virtual machines may very well exceed the bandwidth of their virtual links.

In theory and in the physical world, the maximum would be 10 Gbit/s, since vmxnet3 emulates a 10GBASE-T physical link. This flow is governed by physical limitations and traffic on the wire of the standard, but these do not apply in a virtual setting.

For example, guests on the same host and vSwitch and port group are able to exceed beyond 10 Gbit/s with a unique vNIC. I know, we could think that for example the e1000, which has a link from 1 Gbps to the guest, is limited to 1 GB/s maximum. or vmxnet3 is limited to a maximum of 10 Gbps. But this isn't the case. They can easily exceed their "speed of the virtual link. Test it with a flow of the network as iperf tool and see for yourself.

Operating systems don't artificially restrict traffic to match the speed of the agreed line unless it is physically required.

To give you an example, I am able to reach 25 + Gbps with iperf between 2 virtual Linux machines with a vNIC vmxnet3 unique on the same host and port group. The same should apply to traffic that exits to the physical network through an OFFSET, you gave have multiple connections to high with bandwidth enough entropy to be spread over all the links.

  • Guest of the Apple ID on iPhone

I recently deleted my hotmail account (started doing weird things) and, using my MacBookPro, updated 10.8.6 my Apple ID to my gmail account. However, now on my 9.5.3 iPhone I am constantly invited to check my Apple ID fortunately xxx@hotmail prompt includes a NOT NOW button as well as the SETTINGS because the settings does not allow me to modify my code to Apple. That is what it is? (Hopefully, my insert of the screenshot of the guest appears here.)

Enter the password associated with the address @hotmail on the iPhone, and then disconnect you the device completely and reconnect you with the address @gmail.

You wipe the drive and then do a fresh install of Mac OS X. You can do this via the network of restoration:

    Installer Lion through Mavericks

    1. Restart the computer and after the chime hold down the keys COMMAND + OPTION + R until it appears a globe. Wait patiently - 5 - 15 minutes - until appears the Utility Menu.
    2. Select in the Menu Utility disk utility and click on the continue button.
    3. Disk utility charges and select the player (usually, it's the entry Out-bumpy with of the mfgr.) ID and size) of the list to one side. Click the Partition tab in the main window of disk utility.
    4. Under the scheme of Volume defined heading the number of partitions in a single volume. Click the Options button, set the GUID partition scheme, and then click the OK button. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled). Click the Partition button and wait until the end of the process. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
    5. Select reinstall OS X in the Utility Menu, and then click the install button.

This should install it the original version of OS X comes with the computer originally.

The prompt to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox appears every few hours. I said 'Ask Me later' a lot of times and I'm really tired of it, but it seems to be my only choice. I don't want an upgrade until I can keep my Norton Tool bar that works fine now. So, how can I disable your pop-up infuriating? I'm not a geek, so please I need a simple answer.

    Hello

Symantec (the people who make the Norton products) has taken the decision to withdraw support for their toolbar in the latest version of Firefox (in spite of having a lot of attention to do). I found this page which gives more details around this and plans to get a fix in place very soon.

I recommend that upgrade you to the latest version of Firefox to take advantage of the new features and security enhancements that are included in the browser. There is a new version of reason rather quickly who has added and improved features of the privacy that you may be interested.

If you do not want to disable update guests you get, type Subject: preferences #advanced in the address bar and select Update. This will present you the options to turn off the future, even if updates for general health and well-being of your web browsing, I suggest keeping Firefox updated and wait for the Symantec fix for your Norton product.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we will try to find another solution for you.

  • Mains AC on only guest?

    Hello

I have a last Airport extreme and the last Airport express (in the wireless extension mode). All firmwares to update. I had problems with the internet drops, (cable company that comes out next week, maybe a modem problem, but that's another story).  I saw the link to an article on Netspot (a great free wireless utility) and downloaded for the hell of it.  One of the interesting things that I noticed was that my main network has no AC... It has 2 bands B/G/N and A/N and a N.  The guest network has AC, A/D and 2 B/G/N. I think I would want that on my main AC, as it is the fastest and we 5 compatible devices AC (new I'm iMac, iPhone 6s and iPad Pro and former iPads and computers.)  Another note, the main network is WPA2 Personal.  Guest network said WPA/WPA2 Personal. I don't think that this has nothing to do with the drops, but I would like to than the fastest network on my main network...

what you say forum?  Thanks in advance.

I don't think I've ever seen your question we are discussing.

There was a difficulty for the comments in the last firmware update wireless. Apple difficulty 2 numbers for each 3 they create... She keeps programmers in a job for life. I don't think you noticed if there was a problem in the past on older firmware?

Speed wireless over comments has been poor... so even if you link to full speed are you full speed of your connection?

The express can complicate things. Please, turn off the power.

Can you test by resetting the extreme at the factory and redo its configuration (you can export a configuration before starting to backtrack quickly).

Repeat the installation of the extreme... Use short names for everything, not spaces and pure alphanumeric characters... No, apple has recommended names in the installation program.

Use the same rules for passwords.

As far as I KNOW only WPA2 is supported wireless AC. This is why the Express should be turned off.

    Do not use wireless comments.

Your AC wireless is now working?

In fact, I think the best Diagnostics for the wireless is already built into Mac OS.

    This modem do you have?

  • Base station disappeared after creating the guest network

After you activate a burst network 2 things happened:

    (1) my original network is always visible, but you can not connect and it does not work.

    (2) all devices of the airport, including the base station have disappeared from the Airport utility.

I can connect to the network invited near the base unit as expected. As all devices have green LEDs. However, I can't on the main network. And I can't do anything to solve that devices are not visible in the Airport utility.

    Help!

The 'main' and 'guest' characteristic of network work properly If the right type of modem is used to enable these services.  That would mean a simple modem, as in the example you see just below:

The main and guest feature will not work properly if you have a modem/router, also known as a gateway, as in the example below, which is the type of device that has a number of ISPs providing to their customers.

Therefore, the first troubleshooting question here would be.. .what type of "modem" you?

If you don't know what kind of modem you have, please post back with the number of brand and model of the device that you call your modem. (Please do not distribute private information, such as a serial number).

Next question... base stations AirPort how do you have?

Finally... to fix things, it may be necessary to connect your Mac directly to each base station by using a wired Ethernet cable... Since Wireless will not provide access to the settings on the airport using AirPort Utility if things are messy. Your Mac has an Ethernet port?

  • LoJack - how to allow LoJack to see my MacBook and MacBook Pro in Guest Mode

THIS IS in MY OSX 10.7.5 and 10.11.5 REGUERDS.

There, everyone using a guest account with LoJack installed on their MacBook and MacBook Pro?

Well, I do, then how do all of my accounts of my Macs to users COMMENTS to have 100% full access to Absolute Software for Mac can be seen through their software LoJack that I use in the Admin account?

LoJack share with the guest account?  If so, how?

LoJack uses IP addresses to locate my articles, and somehow, even if the Guest user has 100% access to the Internet (with an official IP address), LoJack do not see through intellectual property - he sees her where he was before--way out there across town.

I tried several times on BOTH of my Macs and LoJack does not see either Mac when I was logged in the comments my account - at this current location - 30 hours.

But when logged in to my Admin account - she sees him like a charm!

Using a double NAT configuration? That might explain things.

When you use the network of comments he is given a completely different IP range and if you double NAT that can cause serious problems.

  • Guest user can deny internet?

I have an iMac 27 "a few years old 10.11.5 running. Can I set up a user called who would not have access to the internet, even if the admin would be? I need to be assured that no program on the guest user account would see the rest of the world.

Otherwise, I could create a new partition and install El Capitan on it without internet access?

It's a little a guess: If you configure a guest user and restrict access to applications - including any browser you have installed - so that no one would be able to use a browser which means that they are unable to access the internet. I have created a guest user on another Mac, some time ago and has been given a list of all the applications that I could choose whether to allow. Haven't tried lately though.
