Guest user can deny internet?
I have an iMac 27 "a few years old 10.11.5 running. Can I set up a user called who would not have access to the internet, even if the admin would be? I need to be assured that no program on the guest user account would see the rest of the world.
Otherwise, I could create a new partition and install El Capitan on it without internet access?
It's a little a guess: If you configure a guest user and restrict access to applications - including any browser you have installed - so that no one would be able to use a browser which means that they are unable to access the internet. I have created a guest user on another Mac, some time ago and has been given a list of all the applications that I could choose whether to allow. Haven't tried lately though.

the administrator cannot access programs, but guest user can
When I am logged in as an admin user can't access programs, it happens that the program does not exist. When I try to go on internet with Explorer he asks me what program I want to use to access the internet. If I change my user and just go as a guest he let me go on the internet with no problems and have access to all the programs on the desktop. also, when I am logged on as administrator a lot icons in the toolbar have disappeared. It's as if the admin is blocked for doing things, but a guest user can.
Thank youHello
The computer seems to work fine in safe mode. The diagnostic mode disables all third party software and services that run in the background. To emulate a similar situation in normal mode, you can run clean boot.
To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps.
1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
5. click on OK.
6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
7. after starting the computer, reinstall and run the program and see if the problem is resolved.
Check if you have the same problem... If your issue is resolved, follow the how to determine what is causing the problem section in KB article to narrow down the exact source.

Guest user can access the system tools?
Start menu > all programs > Accessories > system tools
This allows the user access to computer, control panel (and running and same command prompt), although I selected "don't display this item" through properties > Start Menu > customize. Is there something I don't understand? I don't want a guest user to gain access to ANY 'system tools '. How can I accomplish this?
Hi Jim,.
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
The guest account providing minimum privileges to perform tasks not requiring administrative privileges. People using the guest account cannot install software or hardware, change settings, or create a password. Because the guest account allows a user to log on to a network, browse the Internet, and shut down the computer, you must disable the guest account when not in use.
You can open the command prompt in elevated mode (with administrative privileges), which is actually necessary to run multiple commands that can affect your system. If you use Windows 7 Professional or higher edition, group policy can be edited privileges for the guest account. To learn more, you can re-post your query in the TechNet forums calling for changes in the group policies for the guest account.

After this restart, it automatically to connect to my main account without any password. I don't want people to easily connect to my account without type in any password. I filmed a video as well. Hi, I want to let my friend use my laptop and I need to set up a guest account. The problem is that when I did it, we cannot access Office so that the person cannot create any word or excel files, etc. All they can do is go on the Internet Explore. So my question is how to get features of office for a guest user?
Don't add a guest account, add another standard user if you want another user to access programs as well.

Can you run the Interface of Inspection VBAI only once and then once more by a guest user?
Can you run the Interface of Inspection VBAI only once and then once more by a guest user?
I don't think I understand what you are trying to accomplish. You can connect a button on the front of the smart camera and trigger each acquisition. In VBAI check the triggered Acquisition under the tab trigger for the step to acquire Image (smart camera).
Your smart camera is hooked up to a monitor? Is there something that you must do in LabVIEW that you can't do in VBAI about the step of user input?

I can't access the programs normally on my guest user.
My guest user, for 2 years, always ask those who use it to find the program every time I click on the corresponding icon. Sometimes the programs can be found at other times, not so much. For example Microsoft Word must be accessible by opening a file that is already using the program. It cannot be found. It's annoying and I really want to be able to access programs the normal way again.

How can I disable the guest user to close the PC while the Admin is connected?
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate. I found out how to disable the guest user closing at all via the local security policy, but then they can't stop even if the Admin account is offline.
To clarify a bit, say I want to give my PC to someone, I usually click on change user and connect using the guest account. In this way, they can't access my account because it asks for a password. I want that in such a case, they should not be able to stop the PC as my admin account is always logged.
However, if someone booted the PC themselves and use the guest account, then they should be able to close too, as my Admin account has not been connected.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate. I discovered how to disable the guest user closing all through local security policy.
It is the correct method. It is as robust as it is unconditional.
If you want to have your cake and eat it the guest account must use a powerful "agent" to perform the functions of judgment. A scheduled task would be such an agent. It might work as follows:
- Create a scheduled task that runs Script1 to perform these tasks:
-Check if the C:\Shutdown\Shutdown.txt file exists.
-If not, the output of the script.
-If this is the case, delete Shutdown.txt.
-Check if there is an administrator session. If so, the output of the script.
S ' there is no live administrator session, shut down the computer by using shutdown.exe.
The task must run under an administrator account once every 3 minutes. - Create a shortcut on the desktop for the Guest user calling Script2 for these tasks:
-Check if there is an administrator session.
-If this is the case, create a pop-up to inform the user that the machine cannot be stopped.
-If it is not, create the C:\Shutdown\Shutdown.txt file. The scheduled task will 'see' this file and will stop the machine.
- Create a scheduled task that runs Script1 to perform these tasks:

Looks like you got the permit vpn sysopt disable to enable:
Sysopt connection permit VPN
Also remove the dynamic NAT depending on whether you have already configured under the NAT object:

I'm locked out guest user (only one account on my Mac)
I recently bought a macbook model 2013 end pro on eBay and the seller gave me the password for the user "guest".
I changed the password to a blank password that I didn't have a password but I did not create a new user account.
last night I installed clean OS X El Capitan, when installation is complete asked me a password at the login screen.
I managed to pass the login password, but now I am trying to create a new password in system preferences, but I can't because I'm required to use a password to allow the change.
Guest user is the only account on my Mac, so I have no idea what to do to get out of this mess.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer support.
You wipe the drive and then do a fresh install of Mac OS X. You can do this via the network of restoration:
Installer Lion through Mavericks
- Restart the computer and after the chime hold down the keys COMMAND + OPTION + R until it appears a globe. Wait patiently - 5 - 15 minutes - until appears the Utility Menu.
- Select in the Menu Utility disk utility and click on the continue button.
- Disk utility charges and select the player (usually, it's the entry Out-bumpy with of the mfgr.) ID and size) of the list to one side. Click the Partition tab in the main window of disk utility.
- Under the scheme of Volume defined heading the number of partitions in a single volume. Click the Options button, set the GUID partition scheme, and then click the OK button. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled). Click the Partition button and wait until the end of the process. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
- Select reinstall OS X in the Utility Menu, and then click the install button.
This should install it the original version of OS X comes with the computer originally.

After I updated to 10.11.6 on a MacBook Pro, I have now the option of guest user at sign on. He is completely disabled in the preferences, but appears on each connection. How can I get rid of him?

I have the master password, and he asked to join the splash screen. Other users can view my favorites by canceling the password prompt. I want some more to avoid seeing my favorites if they do not know the password
The master password is not intended to be used in this way.
The password is only intended to encrypt the names and passwords stored in the Manager password with a level of additional encryption.
The Congressman didn't block access to Firefox, if you get a prompt MP when starting Firefox, then you can cancel the command prompt and use Firefox normally.
Only, you cannot access the passwords (you will get an another guest to provide the MP if necessary). -
When I switch to the guest user apparently opened with sure safari and restart... N if I restart and open it is not dock and nothing to the other just only safari... What should I do?
This particular guest account has for Safari: nothing you can do about it. If you need a less limited guest account, set one up in System Preferences > users and groups.
