Color: Not close monitor same HDTV Vs. What should do?

I have change a color corrected monitor NEC 2690 that works very well to give exact impression accuracy but on my first foray into video production to aid still to publish a slide show, the Blu - Ray disc appear extremely washed and most exposed on my TV Sharp through the PS3. This is common and if so, is there a standard way professionals treat shifts of inevitable colors between the two mediums. any way to approximately emulate it on a computer screen?

Personally, I recommend a real TV, not a computer screen.  Preferably a CRT set.  Does not have to be a pro model.  I started using a 14 "Toshiba I got at best buy for $80.  There is no calibrate also precisely that monitors Studio pro, but more closely than would a computer monitor.

You deal with colors in the editing application.  Still has no way to resolve anything.
