• Is it possible to hide / show columns in the dashboard?

  It is my very first post in this forum OBIEE.
  
  My requirement is to allow users to select what they want to see answers of columns asking in dashboard. For example in the application of responses he is 10 columns and 5 of them are hidden. Is it possible to change this property hide these columns hidden in the Dashboard?

  If you are thinking about a multiple selection prompt that has your names of columns as values, then no, you can't. But don't forget to uncheck the "Automatically refresh when a new column is selected" at the top of the display of the column selector. This will allow your users to choose all the appropriate columns before clicking on the button 'Go '.   I am fairly new to OBIEE and employs 10g. Currently, I am trying to format our dashboard to track usage. So, I have a report that I want to be able to select a column ("dashboard") and use navigation value interaction or another method to pass its value in a quick dash in a different tab, so I can sort by this column ("Dashboard") for the six reports it. I can get the navigation to work tool to go to another report or dashboard, but it will not filter by the selected column, nor can I get it in the dash line. I was search the forumns and google like crazy, and can happen anywhere... This funcationality still exist?

  Try this:

  (1) create a small report with a single column, the column that you use in your source in relation to the Interaction of the value.

  (2) on your six reports, put a filter on the same column, conversion to the "filter based on another request.

  (3) points to the report small and the column of the report.

  Your reports will be properly filtered.

  go to edit promt and click on the pencil symbol you will get oone window and click on the Fx symbol, it will show u the formula here editor you must write the formuls above suggested by Anita...

  for Ibots... create a query using the filter to get the week - 1 records (201302) values and make the reports as request in Ibot...

• Helps the copy of a cloning of a dashboard and adding columns to new dashboard without affecting the previous dashboard

  Hi all

  I am new to OBIEE and need help with the cloning of a dashboard so I can add more columns to the new cloned dashboard. I just want some assurance how to do this, because I don't want to spoil the previous dashboard because users still use it. I have looked everywhere for advice and could not find anything on this. It doesn't seem to be as simple as copy and paste it into a different folder...

  Why not?

  It's just a copy/paste

  (the dashboard of course, not only the page you want to change).

  Of course if you links/actions in your dashboard they still link to the original as OBIEE use full paths and relative paths, so these will require to be edited and modified to your new copy dashboard where you have.

• Value of the variable presentation does not appear does not correctly in the dashboard column

  I have a report that has a view of pivot, in which I want to display the average age (date-obtained variable presentation) for example. Average age of the 31.12.12.

  I used 'average Age of staff |  ' @{Reporting_Date} [dd.mm.yy] {31.12.12}' as the formula column and compound eyes, the report shows the desired result.

  But when the report is on the dashboard, it shows the average age to 31.00.12.

  Is this a bug or is there other settings I need to do? I use OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0.

  Worked by changing just the text format.

  Put the name of column in single quotes.

  Make your rank as a function:

• I can not print complete E-Mail due to the space occupied by the personal dashboard. The right side of the screen is taken by the dashboard. How can I remove the dashboard, that is to say, the column to the right of the screen?

  There is not enough room for the message between folders on the left and the (advertising) dashboard on the right.  Therefore, I often use the slide bar on the bottom of the screen to read the entire lines of the message.  For this reason, I can not print a full e-mail.

  No out-of-the-box, but there are several workaround solutions if you want to continue an any of them:

  (1) use a view selector. A single report will be a pivot table with the column, the other will have the same report less column. Users can switch reports.

  (2) use a column selector. The two choices would be this column or an empty space. If white is chosen (because the user has no values), the column "will disappear" according to the report.

  (3) guided use NAV. This method involves the intervention of the user. Build a small report using the single column and put a filter "is not equal to" 0. Because there is only a single column, so all lines are 0, the report returns no rows.

  Use this report in the properties of guided navigation from one section of the dashboard. Assign to this "If the report returns lines" and put the report that contains the column in this section. Now add another article on your table edge and in the properties of guided navigation of this section, set on "If the report will return no rows" and it points to the small report as well. In this section, put a second version of your report without the column in it.

  When the column contains all zeros, the second section with column will not display in it; the first section is not displayed. When at least a line contains a value not zero, the first section is displayed with the column, and the second part will not be.

• Change the dashboard 'summary of active host.

  Hey everybody! I'm new to Foglight (using 5.6.5), but I was instructed to create a dashboard that will appear on a screen in the office. The dashboard is supposed to be the same as the summary of active hosts, who was created by default, the only difference being that it should only show servers 'Production '. Now, it seems really simple (and probably), but I've been struggling with this project days. I feel like I should just be able to copy summary of active hosts and make a quick change to the context and specify that it should Prod servers and not all servers, but I didn't understand how to do this.

  I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to go about it? Am I right in assuming that I can just copy the AHS and change some of the settings? What I have to change? I've tried a few things, but to no avail. I hope this isn't a stupid question, I just jumped in the middle of it and trying to learn as I go. If you need additional information or screenshots, let me know. Thanks in advance, it is greatly appreciated!

  I have the selector column with: week, month and quarter. I used the in the PivotTable.

  I want to interact this column with global filter selector.

  For example:

  When I choose "Time". "' Week ' I want to put the global filter: DAY_NUM_OF_WEEK = 7

  choose "Time". "" Month "-> DAY_NUM_OF_MONTH = 31

  choose "Time". "' Area '-> DAY_NUM_OF_QUARTER = 90

  How can I do this?

  Maybe I can create the formula (perhaps with BOX WHEN) in the global filters, but how can I refer to the selection week/month/quarter column?

  You will need something a little more complex for the filter as there must always be a condition similar to SQL...

  Then you can try a filter as:

  (' @{Sun} {xxx} "="Month")

  AND

  DAY_NUM_OF_MONTH = 30)

  OR

  (' @{Sun} {xxx}' = 'Quarter')

  AND

  DAY_NUM_OF_QUARTER = 90)

  (Just to be sure: this is a filter that you want to use in your criteria tab in the filter box, right?)

  I wonderered just how I could stop this automatically merge cells.  I took a screenshot to show what it looks like when I export a report in Excel.

  

  Is there a way I can change this in the analysis/dashboard so that it gives me individual lines, as opposed to the merger the same Dates/IDs?

  Have you tried to pass your columns of 'delete' to 'repeat '?

  

  Do this on all the columns where you want to remove the merger is going to repeat the value on each line in the dashboard and in the exported Excel.

  Sure.  How to get the CM stand must also have RQ. Your authorized role must be defined as the necessary authorization.  Once a request is sent to the resource manager / functional, you will see numbers in the column RQ.  Once the request has been allocated and approved, you should see numbers in the column of CM.  If you need some help with this, call me or send me an email.

  I have a line of dashboard (scope: Page), when the user selects the value in the command prompt and click on apply an another guest of dashboard (hidden section) fills the values and then this variable of presentation is mentioned in the report.

  Question: Refresh the guest placed in the hidden not part and assign the value to the variable of presentation.

  For example:

  Section 1 > prompt dashboard

  (1) from the Date

  (2) Id analysis: (guest of cascade, founded date selected)

  Variable presentation: pAnalysisId

  (3) moral: by default all the values in the column

  Section 2 > fast dash (apply button then refresh is disabled)

  Analysis of parent IDs:

  See the value: select 'parent_anlysis_id' from 'SubjArea1' where 'id of analysis' to (@{pAnalysisId})

  Default value: Select 'parent_anlysis_id' from 'SubjArea1' where 'id of analysis' to (@{pAnalysisId})

  Presentation Variable: pParentanalysis

  Column report form:

  Report filters:

  Legal person is invited

  Only the pAnalysisId happens. The presentation variable analysis Parent is not to set.

  NOTE: If I display the section in which I placed the guest of the dashboard for the Parentanalysisid, the report works very well.

  Problem is solved. The problem is in the report, all the filters have been based on variable presentation, which was not refreshing with prompt hidden values. Add a column with "is"lead"in the report and now values happen.
