Change the dashboard 'summary of active host.

Hey everybody! I'm new to Foglight (using 5.6.5), but I was instructed to create a dashboard that will appear on a screen in the office. The dashboard is supposed to be the same as the summary of active hosts, who was created by default, the only difference being that it should only show servers 'Production '. Now, it seems really simple (and probably), but I've been struggling with this project days. I feel like I should just be able to copy summary of active hosts and make a quick change to the context and specify that it should Prod servers and not all servers, but I didn't understand how to do this.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to go about it? Am I right in assuming that I can just copy the AHS and change some of the settings? What I have to change? I've tried a few things, but to no avail. I hope this isn't a stupid question, I just jumped in the middle of it and trying to learn as I go. If you need additional information or screenshots, let me know. Thanks in advance, it is greatly appreciated!

Dashboard active hosts summary

Production group

The host summary view active is a sharable view, so you can add it to your own dashboards.

1. create a dashboard from the action panel

2. in the control panel actions, select the view tab

3. open the host section in the view tab

4. drag the host summary view in the middle of the screen

5. create a Service in the Service of guests of the Production Designer. Call the Service Production hosts and then add hosts to the service

6. in your custom dashboard, in the summary of the host view, select Service selector, then select service Production hosts

  • change the dashboard

    Hello
How to change the dashboard in obiee11g

    Thank you

The reason why you are not able to see is that you have only read access to reports and dashboards. To give you privileges to edit dashboards and responses, you must connect to Analytics OBIEE with an ID that has administrator privileges. Go to weblogic, security domains, click on my realm, click on go to the tab users and groups, find your ID (which in this case is weblogic) and click on it. Go to the tab groups and assign you, group BIAdministrator. This will give you all the admin rights.

    Assign points if helpful.

    Hello

Non-administrative users do not have access to the option to change the dashboard, because by default the folder is "read only".

You must go to the catalog management. Then for the shared folder where this dashboard, click the icon of the authorization (the yellow padlock icon). Give full control access to everyone or the user group that you want to activate the option to change the dashboard.

  • How can I remotely change the IP address of a host ESXi 4.1

I have 2 VMWare ESXi 4.1 hosts who have been moved to the customer site.

They are currently configured to use DHCP, but I need to return the two static IP addresses.

    How can I do this?

I can do it in vSphere CLI?

If so, how should I do this?

I have never used vSpehere before CLI, so need a full breakdown, including please how to connect to the host...

I have reviewed the documentation, but it's a little hard to understand.

    Thank you

    Hiya,

You are able to get physical access to the ESX host?   I don't know if you can make the change remotely, because in order to change the IP address, you need to remove the network card.   Remove the adapter effectively cut off access to the network that you use for remote administration.

Could you possibly get a 2nd active connection through DHCP network connected to the ESX host (must double NIC?)?   Then you could probably remote in on the 2nd link and delete/recreate the 1st.   Worth a try at least!

  • Change the LV version currently active in the batch script

    Hello

I use two different applications on my computer, and one of them should run in LV 2011, this in LV 2012. The two versions are installed and it works fine until I start the correct version of LV manually before you start the application (start and end of the required version of LV in C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\... before starting my request).

I want to do this automatically in a command script, so basically I want to do the following:

    * Check which version of LV is currently active (last LV start version)

    * If the currently active version of LV is NOT required: change to the required version of LV (by starting LV and close or preferably do differently if someone could tell me how)

    * If the currently active version of LV is required: do nothing

There are two problems I couldn't solve so far:

    * How to get the LV version currently active (I checked the windows registry, but I see that my installed versions of LV, and not one that is currently active)

    * How can I close LV with a batch script (or how to change the version of the currently active LV without opening and closing)

    Thanks in advance,

    Tobias

PS: I did the same for the different versions of TestStand, by reading the TestStand system and if requuired environment variable change the version of TestStand via the command-line of the TS Version selector. It works fine, but there is no system environment variable that indicates the currently active version of LV.

OK, this is a very informal Tip:

In the registry (regedit), you will find the key 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\LabVIEW.Application\CLSID '. This default key should contain some weird ID information.

If you search for this key, you will find an entry for the key in the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT CLSID" section.

If you have several versions of installed LV, there must be a key in the entry which will give you the path to the active version of NV. don't forget: this is the version that you have opened up to the last successfully!

Please note that keys can change from system to System. Also different versions of LV can use different keys like "routing information" the way of the real LabVIEW.exe.

    hope this helps,

    Norbert

  • Changing the DNS server for ESX hosts?

Our network administrator will change the IP address of the DNS server.  In this way, we will change those corresponding to ESX hosts.

    We would like to know

    (1) can we change the DNS server on execution of the ESX hosts without going into maintenance mode?

    (2) under what circumstances the ESX host will do use DNS servers?

    (3) memory, we should add all the IP addresses of ESX host in the hosts file in the Service Console, where is this hosts file located at?

    Thank you

    Tony,

Use "service network restart" command to restart the network service

    Do not forget also that...

Very dependent on DNS HA, HA will not work without the correct DNS configuration. The servers ESX and vCenter server must be able to resolve the name (FQDN full) / IPs in both feel to get a working HA.

  • Change the 'label' on an active vSphere license?

    All,

I have a lot of "combined" vSphere licenses groups in vCenter 4.1, I would change the descriptive label on some of the or the vSphere currently loaded in vCenter licenses.

Cannot do through the UI, I have looked on the tables of database VPX_LIC_ * but don't see anything with the information on the label.  I could go through the center of the license and get the keys to the 'News', but I have to go through several cycles to combine/split to obtain the appropriate keys, too much work.

Anyone know where this information is stored?  I expect it to be in the same table as VPX_LIC_LICENSES (which is where the license keys are) but no dice.

    Ben

The label can be changed by going to the page of vSphere vSphere Client licenses, view by product, then developing the object to see its keys.

Since the key line, click on the label and press F2 to edit the entry (or you can double click on it).

I've edited all my labels to better describe what they manage (such as Group A, Group B, etc.).

I was able to do this since vCenter 4.0, tested on 4.1 and it still works fine.
