  Hello!

  I built a Subvi to a VI Oscilloscope that performs the analysis of the signals.

  Users should be able to open and close the Subvi window, but I can't make it work like I want.

  He needs to do is:

  -Open the Subvi when an on-off control is clicked and start calculations

  -close window calculations and stop the Subvi

  -Repeat passages that every time that the user needs

  I built what:

  -Open the Subvi with the key and start the calculations correctly

  -When I close the window Subvi it opens again stopped whith calculations

  I just noticed a race condition mean you have as well.  If you switch the button after the terminal has been read, but before that the local variable is written to, your rocking button could be ignored accidental due to the locale of your user name.

  What I would do with this Setup would be to launch the Subvi as a parallel process.  The VI can maintain its own State and what not.  You can then use the user events and/or queues to send data to the other process.

  I would like to launch a Subvi in the background (hidden) and I did it using file under-VI-> properties, but I would like to add a possibility for users to click on a button to display the dialog box what's happening to the other VI.

  How can I do this? I could find the ability to run another VI in the property node.

  In my labview project the MainVI contains about 20 subVIs. My goal is that by clicking on a button on the Panel before the main VI I would open a special Subvi (assuming it to be sub - VI, 10). To do this in the labview development environment, I used a reference of openVI with its path of entry is the name of the VI vi I want to throw (Subvi 10), and then set a real constant on the front panel to bring up the control panel front of the Subvi. This works well in the labview development environment, but when I create an executable file I'm not able to open my Subvi. I looked around, on the knowledge base and found this article.

  Have you tried to use static references VI instead of using 'VI open' with a file path?  With a static reference VI, the compiler has a better idea on what you are trying to accomplish during the execution.

  I did it in before executables without any problem.  Personally, I like having a Boolean input of the Subvi, called "Display window" (or something like that) and then have the Subvi manage how it wants to open (or close) front panel.

  It is within the Subvi (which my main VI is still running).  The Subvi has a static reference to himself.  I have a button on the front of my VI main panel when you press on sends a 'true' to Boolean entry "display window.  The Subvi responds by opening the front panel upward. The opposite happens when the button is pressed.

  I'm still learning LabVIEW, so apologies if this is pretty basic.

  I'm trying to declutter the façade of my main VI by moving some controls less frequently used in a Subvi. The idea is that when the user wants to set these controls:

  (1.) the user presses a button on the main VI to launched the Subvi front.

  (2.) the Subvi front opens and the user adjusts the values of controls Subvi.

  (3.) the user presses a button to close the Panel front of the Subvi.

  Ideally, the relationship between indicators of higher level and the Subvi of control must be the same when all the controls and indicators have been on the main VI - i.e. when the user plays with the controls in the Sub - VI the main VI must always be running and its indicators should respond to changes on the Subvi real-time controls.

  I guess it's possible, I'm not sure that eactly how to build this relationship between the main VI and the Subvi.

  I just need a little nudge in the right direction on this one, thanks!

  You must create references to controls in your top level VI and pass them in the Subvi.  Then have the Subvi write property as the value nodes using these references.

• Problem running Subvi after construction of .exe

  Hi all

  I've seen much related to this topic but you have not found anything specific to my situation.

  I built a simple wrapper to launch different Subvi depending on whether it of Saturday or not.

  The vi works perfectly well as a vi in LV2012. But when I build the application, run two cases-in other words, both Subvi front panels appear and I get a message warning me that I can't run multiple instances of the same Subvi.

  I hope it to be run true or false case and open the correct Subvi once and be done with it. Not sure why both trying to run more than once only after I have build the application. Ideas?

  I thought about it when I went to go back and create a sample project to download for you (which worked fine).

  Has proved to be a mistake in the original specification, I did. I accidentally included the vi in the structure of the case as a source of start-up files. They opened the performance, then we tried to open again after the code that was not allowed due to restrict re-entrant execution, giving me the warning.

  I corrected the issue in new versions by resolving to drink more coffee beforehand.

  Using my laptop which has Vista Home Premium 64-bit of pre format internal disks and some internal drives in enclosures for use with XP Home Edition 32-bit and switch external references between them.

  I think the only thing that matters is the MBR or GPT and 2 TB or more. Go choose MBR and they are 2 TB or less. 7200 RPM.

  Also out of curiosity, are there any editions of Windows that, for some reason, create a problem?

  Assuming that there is one Windows application, I highly recommend the creation of an ActiveX control. I had a lot of success with the Director and ActiveX for customized projects. Developers should be familiar with the creation of the ActiveX (if they have not for their project already is). I have often used the trick of having the ActiveX sprite "backstage", he must get properly ordered here, and move the sprite on stage when you are ready for a clean transition.
  If the built-in ActiveX xtra is not enough, you can always try the 3 rd-party VBScript/ActiveXcompanion xtra for more control and flexibility.

• Error Code 37 running labview 6 with windows XP

  I checked most of the posts about this generic error code 37. Here's my dilemma... Labview 6 running on a windows NT system. This computer is on its last breath, and we want to switch to XP... I installed labview 6 on a XP machine and the program works very well... and I actually get my external device data unless I get the ERROR 37... the great thing is I can not launch a Subvi, which creates a linear between because once I get error 37, stops the Subvi. I don't understand how can I read data from my external device, still get the device not found msg. I even tried to install 7 LV and LV 8 still get the same results.

  To close the Communication port, you could create a new white vi, ask a close visa on the block diagram, he points to the port to close and run the vi.

• Satellite A-C55-1N1 - TOSHIBA additive error

  I have a Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1N1 and I'm having a few problems.

  When I try to open the TREXlauncher under C:\Program Files (x 86) \TOSHIBA\Addendum it comes up saying that there is an error and the program is closed.

  It creates an error log that says that there is no command line arguments.
  I wonder what other peoples experiences have been of this and would appreciate any help that anyone can give.

  Does anyone have the intelligent suggestions to manage life VI/demon kid? I'd like a clean way to launch a Subvi assistance which will stop automatically when its caller stops.

  For example, I have a VI kid who manages the automatic resizing of columns in a MCLB I have many examples of use. It's super easy to slip into any VI that I want to implement the auto-size feature. But since it is running with a while loop I look for events pane size, I need a way to ensure that it stops when its caller stops.

  The best solution, I come up with so far requires the parent to create a dynamic event shutdown before calling the VI brat, the reference to the hand in the brat, and then raise the event when it stops, while the kid will also stop. But this means that my beautiful clean "just drag in this sub - VI" gets much more complicated implementation, and if a developer forgets to pull this event, while the kid never stops and you end up with a guillotine VI.

  Would be great that if there was a way to register for 'VI execution state changed' events, so the kid could join this event on its caller.

  Everyone came up to the top with a good solution for this problem?

  In fact, I prefer calllback screws in this situation.  In the palette .NET is the 'register event callback function.  I take your MCLB control and create a reference.  The reference, get ownership of 'own pane' value and connect to Terminal 'event' of the REC function and choose the event of size of the pane.  I would wire the reference to the MCLB for the parameter user.  Now click the REC node and select 'create reminder VI '.  Make your voo - doo inside this callback VI using the references of the past.  You now have a VI that is called when the event is triggered and goes away when the appellant VI is finished with no muss and no fuss.

  I use LV 2009 SP1 Professional Development Suite on Windows Seven and I have a problem with the executable files, a problem that I have ever found with other versions of LV (8.x, for example) and I'm a little surprised...

  There are two base screws, the main one (prova) and a Subvi (provasubvi). The main vi launches the Subvi and the Subvi simply create a chart. As you can see on the screws works fine, without any kind of problem.

  I also created the exe file, without specifying that no particular option... and 'magic' of the application does not work as I want. In particular, it seems that the Subvi is running, but the front panel will not be accessible.

  I also try to play with the Subvi construction structure and options, but nothing change.

  Did you ever solve something like that?... I would say that I thank you in advance for any suggestion...

• Creation of VPN for office

  I'm looking for some feedback about problems with the following design.

  We currently have a HQ site with an internet connection of 100 Mbps, which ends on an external L2 switch. A Cisco ASA 5520 is then connected to the L2 switch and configured with a public IP addess. The Cisco ASA firewall is configured with NAT and handles all of the traffic internet headquarters

  I need to add a site of management via a VPN, but we need the ability to use multicast via the VPN and also use the HQ site for all internet traffic, so the branch will use a default route to Headquarters and traffic peaks and then back out to the internet.

  I thought installing a router series Cisco 2900 in parallel to the Cisco ASA with an interface connected to the switch external and internal interface connected to the switch HQ, then Configuration GRE over IPsec and then advertising on the default using EIGRP. Similar to the attached physical design.

  Did anyone see any problems with this Setup? Wouldn't be better to connect the LAN of 2900 to an interface DMZ on the SAA for security?

  It is a design that I use quite often (for customers with 'normal' security needs) which works very well. As a switch inside, I always use a Layer 3 switch with two transfer networks, 8, at the ASA (s). With which you have total control over the routing on the L3 Switch.

  As an alternative for customers who want to filter the traffic branch also on the SAA I connect to the internal interface of the router to a DMZ on the ASA interface. Then there is only one device (the ASA) for the application of the policies instead of two (ASA and router). In the old days of the Concentrator VPN I also had the public interface of the VPN gateway on a demilitarized zone to protect the VPN gateway on the internet, but complicating the delivery of many.

  In case anyone has this problem,

  I changed to RSL External, launched the application
  and saw the msg of error that the EFA of visualization of data could not be found. I changed back to RSL and everything is fine now.
