I can no longer use replace text whent, I use the tool comment why?

Hi louisem14910732,

It seems that you are talking to that you aren't able to find the text replacement tool. There are a few changes to the annotation tool. You can select the text and then right-click on it, you will get "Add a note to replace the text" option in the drop-down list.

Also see this thread for more information on this:

When I try to change my PDF files no comment tools knit the other than the red pen. I really need to highlight the sentences so it's very frustrating. What's wrong?

    Hi zainabz11213332 ,

I got the file you sent, it seems that the file you sent is an image file and a Mobile version of the Acrobat Reader software is not the feature to highlight digital images, this feature is available in the desktop version of Acrobat Reader DC.

However, adding a comment, using the drawing in Freehand (red pen) and place the signature on the file was possible. It would be possible that Acrobat Reader on your phone is not updated to the latest.

Could you please let us know the version of Acrobat Reader, have you?

  • Color text and size can be changed using the commenting tools

Hello, I have problems by changing the color of the text and the size of the comments when using the commenting tools.  I used to be able to do this by placing the cursor over the text and by opening the text properties bar, but the text properties bar has ceased to appear even when you select Crl + E.  When you use a text box, I can get the properties of the text box bar pop up; then I pass the text inside the text box and the text properties bar, however, I am not able to adjust the color, size and type of police.  Help? The text parameter might have accidentally set to default?  If so, that is editable?

  • Not being able to use the commenting tools in Android App.

So, I did abit of research regarding my dilemma. I wanted to just a solid understanding of my research findings.

His my situation, my office im player capable to add Post-it notes and highlight text. When I open the same PDF file through the app Android, Im not supposed to. I get a message saying "this tool is not available because of the security settings of documents".

My research ive concluded that it is the whole PDF encryption that is not allowing me to use the commenting tools in the Android app. Is this correct?

Is there a way around this side just do it on my desktop/laptop computer?

    Hi Yooooda-man

Acrobat Reader mobile products (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) have the known limit where the changes cannot be saved in encrypted PDF documents.  As a result, users are not able to make changes (addition of comments/annotations or forms) for encrypted PDF documents.

If you created the PDF file or if you know the password, you can remove the Security document and settings of restriction of the PDF on your desktop, so you can use it on your Android app.

  • Problem with the comment tool, I do not see my comments

I use one PC with Windows 8.1 and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. With the help of the "Add ". a comment"tool, I see that content when I select. . The remaining it is not displayedI need to take notes in my book to give a few lessons and I can't see my comments in the PDF file. What can be my problem?

    Thank you for asking.

Can you open a few other PDF, create a note annotation, set its properties to your taste, then right-click and select Properties, set opacity to 100% and click on the checkbox "Use default properties" at the bottom.

Close the player. When you open the player, these properties will stick?

If not and you are comfortable using the command line (CMD prompt) to run a command, you can run the following command:

    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\Annots\cAnnots"

    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\Annots\cAnnots"

This should dispel any annotation stored preferences and also the preference of 0-opacity which appears to have been set.

  • Commenting on the text properties quick tool is not functioning - Acrobat DC

This was published in a another thread has not received a reply, I hope someone has a solution.

The domain controller Acrobat commenting tool quick "Text properties" does not open the bubble of properties drop-down list when I click the icon nothing happens at all. I can open the commenting tools and access the drop-down list via this interface, but not with the quick tool (see image below).

    Capture.PNG

We devoted essentially to large drawings and we need every bit of space on the screen. Working with the menu open annotation is not an option for more than 90% of our projects, because it reduces the available screen area to display the document.

I have tried everything and have the same situation on two different machines running Windows 10 and Acrobat DC.

    Am I missing something?

The last update seems to have resolved this issue, the old style properties box pop up is back on both of my machines.

I still don't know what was going on with the situation described above, as of today I still couldn't get the quicktool to work. I removed the tool in the menu and the box pop up remains, there is no relationship between the quicktool and the properties box works now.

with the new version of Acrobat Reader (2015.0.16.20039), there are more tools "to add a note to the text" and "to add a note for the replacement of the text" in the annotation tools. These tools have been removed? (Because we use it every day).

  • Update comments before the host tools

    Hello

Our backup software (TSM for EV) checks if the VMWare Guest tools are 'in progress', before you perform the backup of the application.

This means that when we improve a host for the new version, the backup of the application of all the virtual machines on the host will fail, until the tools are upgraded.

However, the cheque will go through if the comment tools version is newer than the version of the host.

    Then...

Is it possible to orchestrate the tools update to a newer version than the tools on the host?

(In addition to using a single host 'host jump' update for updates, and migration of virtual machines on that host one).

    Best regards

    Martin

Is it possible to orchestrate the tools update to a newer version than the tools on the host?

Yes, it's possible and fully supported to run versions of VMware Tools in the guests who are more recent than the ESXi host versions. For example, you can use the latest tools of U1 6.0 even on the hosts 5.x. see: product VMware interoperability matrices

To obtain and deploy the latest tools, you have a couple of different options available; you don't need to bother with a "host of jump' or whatever it is.

    1. just update the package tools-light of your guests, for example with MUV. This beautiful thing is this can be done online and requires no maintenance mode or a reboot of the host. Make sure that no virtual machine currently has VMware Tools mounted ISOs.

2 extract the ISOs tools the bundle version (patch) of target offline or installing ESXi ISO.

3 download https://packages.vmware.com/tools/esx/index.htmlTools packages. These correspond exactly to those of the packages included in the packages offline (patch) or installation ISOs. (Just get the .exe files big, no need to enter an ISO.)

4 download the new standalone version 10.x of the tools of:

    https://my.VMware.com/group/VMware/details?downloadGroup=VMTOOLS1005&ProductID=491

    http://pubs.VMware.com/Release_Notes/en/VMwareTools/1005/VMware-tools-1005-release-notes.html

Personally, I prefer not to bother with the ISOs editing or updating through the vSphere Client interfaces, but using an automated custom installation with the package of relevant tools like this:

C:\VMware-tools-9.4.12-2627939-x86_64.exe/v number! REINSTALLMODE = vomus ADDLOCAL = DELETE all the Audio, BootCamp, FileIntrospection, Hgfs, NetworkIntrospection, Unity REBOOT = ReallySuppress

This also some unnecessary components like unity, which are available on the position of work/Fusion/player, and eliminates a forced reboot.

  • Network stops working after the installation of the VMware Tools on linux comments

    Hello

I m facing problem after that, sometimes, sometimes not after a comment tools and vmware linux installation.

If the installation of vmware Linux tools everything seems to work perfectly. No errors, nothing.

The last thing to do after that tools installed will run successfully is to run the following commands (produced by the message from the installation program tools)

    /etc/init.d/network stop

    rmmod pcnet32

    rmmod vmxnet

    modprobe vmxnet

    /etc/init.d/network start

This works fine as well, but after the next reboot the network stops working sometimes.

The linux guest runs under VMware Server 2 using tools VMwareTools - 2.0.0 - 122956.i386

The strange thing is that this happens all the time when install linux clients and tools.

    Guest operating system is RHEL40U5

Any help how to avoid this is much appreciate.

    Better with respect to Agent.

Why not add the commands above to the file etc/rc.d/rc.local. It will take a cae of the rest every time that you restart your virtual machine. I hope this helps...
