Commenting on PDFs with text from websites using Adobe

Hi all

I work in a team and we want to download articles, documents and Web sites deposits, convert them to PDF format, highlight and comment on the text.  Currently, we use Adobe Acrobat XI Standard to convert the Web site text in PDFs using OCR to recognize the text and then highlighting the text that recognizes the OCR.  Our team share the documents commented on an internal cloud.

There are two problems with our process.  First of all, once the OCR recognizes text, it replaces the old text with new text which is a bit blurry, making it hard to read.  Second, the OCR takes a long time to run on long documents.

Does anyone have any suggestions?  Is Adobe program more effective to use?

Thanks for your help!

Hi AdobeNewUser1,

You can use the function 'Find and correct OCR Suspect' to fix the blurry replaced the OCR text.

If the document is long so it is normal that the OCR engine to take the time to read the entire document.

Kind regards

Rave

    Hi gignc,

    You cannot merge the comments using Acrobat.com online services (ExportPDF, Adobe PDF Pack and so on). But you can with a subscription of Acrobat. Please see Adobe Acrobat X Standard * publish comments from other reviewers instructions.

    Is API available in Acrobat for extracting text from images using c#

    Thank you for your response. Acrobat is not appropriate for this task, because it is technically suitable or licensed for the server.

    Adobe have a PDF library which allows extraction of text for C/C++, but it does not OCR. There are OCR of the LiveCycle PDF Generator Server product, but I don't think that does OCR on a PDF file.

  • How to create A PDF with text OCR invisible and no Unicode font incorporated

    We have a code that converts TIFF (usually traveled and OCR'ed) in PDF format. Currently, I extend this code:

    1. be PDF/A compliant (or PDF/A-1b "Unicode" or PDF/A-2u).
    2. Add Unicode text 'behind' the image to make the PDF can be accessed, and
    3. while making (2), do not embed all fonts (which is allowed in PDF/A, as long as the text is invisible).

    I managed to generate a PDF file that pass the test of PDF/A preflight in Adobe Acrobat 9 (we have yet a license for a newer version), and which is also consistent with other requirements above, with one of the problems during their opening in Acrobat (9) or Acrobat Reader (DC), I get the error "cannot find or create the police."

    Replace the name of fancy font with that of one of the 14 standard fonts, said Courier, does not help.

    Unfortunately, I was not able to find or create PDF sample files that show how to add invisible text without embedding a font. I could operate without a Unicode mapping, referring to the Courier not incorporated and using WinAnsiEncoding. However, in order to use the Unicode format, I have to add some police structures, so there's a ToUnicode mapping according to the PDF/A standard, and then I can't get rid of this warning, which of course would make it unusable PDF for our customers.

    I couldn't really find in the PDF specification or the PDF/A standard what exactly "do not embed a font" meant on a technical level. I assumed that this meant "leaving aside the tag /FontFile2 and police data, to which it refers", but apparently, this isn't quite the case.

    If this is not possible, I might incorporate a fake police, like empty Adobe but with (empty) glyphs that have a width, but it really shouldn't be necessary if I understand standards.

    Any help or tips at least are appreciated.

    But it's a required parameter with sense. Encoding is highly relevant for embedded and not embedded fonts. So it must be good, not just there... and it is not normal for a substitution font...

  • PDF with links from a Mac does not work on a tablet.

    I created a PDF file on a mac with links to navigate forward and back in the pages of the document. It works on all Mac devices but not on a shelf. Any suggestions?

    If you want to send the PDF to your Tablet via email or download from a server to your Tablet and then open it with Safari, IE or another browser or default viewer, the PDF file will not have the same functionality you have when you test locally on your Mac (likely using Acrobat). It will be just a two-dimensional, flat PDF document that you are currently experiencing. But, if when you use your tablet, you are able to open the PDF file with Adobe Acrobat Reader application, your nav buttons should then work.

    To my knowledge, there is no method to create an interactive PDF that will have universal across all platforms features much that a user may choose to use. You'll have to instruct them to open the doc with Acrobat or another Viewer known, compatible.

  • Help with text in Muse Using Edge animate please

    Hi guys, please can someone explain to me step by step how to make a particular effect, I'm after... I have a site temporary catalyst for business you can see... just the beginning.

    http://robynleighphotography.BusinessCatalyst.com/index.html

    So now my name RobynLeigh | Photography - I'm wanting my name to landing on the site to be back as your face to the ROBYNLEIGH in a mirror and PHOTOGRAPHY but keeping those two words in their current place (IE I don't want the photograph appears on the left side). I want then the words RobynLeigh to rotate from left to right position to read the ROBYNLEIGH and photography to rotate from left to right to correctly report to finish.

    So almost like windows of middle opening of a movement to the outside where the name is read right. Maybe have a rebound at the end? Want just a clean overall look effective.

    I hope this makes sense?

    example of... http://CSS3.bradshawenterprises.com/flip/

    Or do I even need to animate and can enter just a script for each word, as shown in the link above? How this can be run... The wording should be saved as an image?

    Thank you

    Robyn

    Yes, you can do this using animate and place on the page but any modification or styling must be made out of Muse.

  • I want to download drivers, so I can download, videos with sound from websites such as youtube

    I tried to download videos with youtube and others, but I guess I don't have the correct drivers or others to do so. Please help me telling me what to do and how to proceed. Thank you

    Download drivers

    Visit the manufacturer's Web site and select your computer model (this is usually done in the Support section). You should be able to download drivers for your model. Download the driver (s) and follow the instructions to install - every computer is different, so I can't give you exact directions. You can also try to use Windows Update to get drivers - it is located in the start menu.

    You can download and install Flash Player to view the videos here:

  • Conditional binding fails with fracture from scratch using the fluent API

    I have two properties that I want to connect to a progress bar. Properties represent essentially a max value of County (the denominator) and current value of the Shire (numerator). I want to set up a connection using the fluent API that works roughly as follows:
    IntegerProperty numerator = new SimpleIntegerProperty(0);
    IntegerProperty denominator = new SimpleIntegerProperty(0);

    progressBar.progressProperty().bind(
        Bindings.when(denominator.isEqualTo(0))
            .then(0)
            .otherwise(numerator.divide(denominator)));
    The numerator and denominator properties represent two properties in my object that changes according to certain criteria in the application, and I want the progress bar to be bound by these changes. The problem is sometimes, and by default, the value of the denominator is 0. My logic tells me that the clause otherwise() does not run, because the when() condition must be true and so run the then() clause. When I run the above code, I get an ArithmeticException (/ by zero).

    Question - is this the correct behavior of the code underlying link? I don't understand why the otherwise() clause is being evaluated in this case.
    Can I suggest an improvement to short-circuit the logic to avoid such a situation?

    My solution is to create a custom as follows DoubleBinding:
    IntegerProperty numerator = new SimpleIntegerProperty(0);
    IntegerProperty denominator = new SimpleIntegerProperty(0);

    DoubleBinding db = new DoubleBinding() {
        { super.bind(numerator, denominator); }

        @Override
        protected double computeValue() {
            if(denominator.getValue() == 0) {
                return 0.0;
            }
            return numerator.doubleValue() / denominator.doubleValue();
        }
    };

    progressBar.progressProperty().bind(db);
    I would much rather the fluent API (much less code to write and much more elegant), but I'm glad that the custom binding is not too difficult to write and understand.

    Thanks for all comments or impressions.

    I have not tested, but for a workaround, you can try

    progressBar.progressProperty().bind(
        Bindings.when(denominator.isEqualTo(0))
            .then(0)
            .otherwise(numerator.divide(denominator.doubleValue())));

    This will force (should) the division must be calculated using double rather than the integers (ints); x / 0,0 will assess double. NaN in java, without throwing an exception. Note that this calculation will give slightly different results in other cases, such as the division of integers you used before will still result in an int (by truncation); considering that it will give a double precision division. In most cases, the latter will actually be what you want.

  • PDF not attached to Outlook using Adobe Reader

    When you click the Mail icon in the toolbar in adobe reader to join the PDF file to an e-mail, software adobe reader freezes and the document is not attached. It does not work if Outlook 2013 is closed but if Outlook 2013 is open adobe reader hangs just for a minute with nothing happens. I tried to turn off protected mode on startup and disable all add-ins outlook. This problem started a couple of weeks, I tried a system restore, but no joy.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    I found the solution! It was a problem with sendmail.api, I fixed it in the following way: -.

    Fix SendMail plugin:

    Go to "C:\Program Adobe 11.0\Reader\plug_ins" and rename SendMail.API in OLD_ SendMail.API.

    And then to add/remove programs running a repair of drive.

    Problem the first time yesterday.  Only problem with documents, such as the Internal Revenue Service forms, allowing the filling in and registration.  Day before yesterday, has worked without problem.  OK for years!   Do I need to 'fix' Adobe, or is it a 'switch' in Windows XP (SP-3), who has lost?

    Problem disappeared!  Followed the suggestion via the menu Edit-> Preference > Security (Enhanced) and disabled Protected view, as recommend it; also several other protective walls apparent.  After re-booting the computer and restart Adobe, Voila! the problem disappeared, can now 'fill' forms the IRS access and al.
