Comments domain membership

I was faced with the task of determining which domain computers of our guests were joined in.  We have a few different areas and is not a good track record of which servers are on it.  The question is: Y at - it an easy way to extract this information using PowerCLI?  I consulted the help files, but is not all that was an obvious answer.

Thank you!

Hello, hansoac.

You might just get - vm virtual machines you need and '. '. Guest.HostName' it. Wiil you get the FQDN of the virtual machine name.

For example:

PowerCLI C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\vSphere PowerCLI > $vm = get -.

VM guarantor

PowerCLI C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\vSphere PowerCLI > $vm

Name PowerState Num CPU MemoryGB

----                 ---------- -------- --------

Receptor 2 4 000 guarantor

PowerCLI C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\vSphere PowerCLI > $vm. Fords

t.HostName

GARANT.mfc22.local

PowerCLI C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\vSphere PowerCLI >

    Hello

I'm a programmer trying to get the members of a group of global domain by using windows server 2008 enterprise edition

in the past it was not a windows server 2003 functional level, but when the 2003 functional level appeared a new features have been added such as the addition of

a global group as a member of another global group in the domain,

in the past, the written API could obtain the Member if the Member is a user, but you cannot find a member if it is a global group.

I use this "NetGroupGetUsers" API to get a members of a domain global group and he gets the users but it does not get the

Members if they were global groups...

I tried an other API "NetLocalGroupGetMembers" it becomes a global group as a member but it only works if the owner was a local group on the server
or on another machine which is added to the server, but this API does not work if the owner of the Group was a domain global group.

My question is how to get the members of a global group whose members who are global groups too?

Hello, we (me and my colleagues) have a strange problem with some of our Pc.
We have disabled the Systemrestore by policy.
But in some cases STILL done system restore full and removes all installed Programms, also sets the Pc up to a point before the domain join.
Data is not lost but they system is broken so the profile and we habe to reinstall.
How this could happen? The Systemrestore is disabled, but still he managed to him and to crack the system.
If you are looking for the settings for the Systemrestore, everything is disabled, also there is no restore point.

I have not discovered yet what causes this or how to reproduce the error.

I saw him only once, after i had started the system, I was aksed if I want to do a system restore and if you say yes, zam Programms everyone and everything disappeared.  Its happens on each Pc (Lenovo X 1, HP 2650, 8470).

  • ANyConnect Client certificate authentication and verify the Client against the Microsoft AD using DAP via LDAP domain membership

    Hello

as described in the title one want to connect with AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 3.0.2052 ASA 5540 Version 8.4 and licence Premium SSL.

Customers using Maschine certificate to authenticate to ASA. It works very well.

Now, I want to install a DAP to check the customer against the Microsoft AD using LDAP. I have configured the LDAP server in see ASA:

    AAA-Server LDAP protocol ldap
    AAA-Server LDAP (inside) host ldap.com
    LDAP-base-dn DC = x DC = x, DC = x DC = com
    LDAP-scope subtree
    LDAP-login-password *.
    LDAP-connection-dn *.
    microsoft server type

I see that it works if I test via the testbotton server in ASDM and I also see in CLI "debugging ldap 255". But if I configure in DAP: AAA attribute ID:memberOf = Membre_domaine I can't see any request to the LDAP server as I try to connect with the Client und does not correspond to the DAP.

No idea where the problem lies?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Klaus,

DAP will not make any call LDAP itself, it will only act based on the attributes received LDAP via the LDAP authentication or authorization.

So you will need to enable the LDAP authorization in the tunnel - or connect to groups.

Once you have, you can either use DAP or a map attribute LDAP for accept/deny access, see the example of these two methods.

  • Windows 7 cannot resolve the ip addresses of domain names

I have a desktop computer that I built components purchased in a major computer store.  I got this system works well for several months, now.  Recently, however, I met a problem with one of the modules of memory of 2 GB.  I deleted (because it turned out to be defective) and, shortly AFTER his withdrawal, have another problem with the resolution of Internet domain name.  I have to say that I also installed my old Windows XP as an alternative OS and updated to sp3 (it is, in fact, that I use to access the internet and write this query).  As you can see, XP I have no problem with internet access or name resolution.  There are two other systems connected to the home network via wi - fi (one equipped with Windows Vista and the other a tablet PC running Windows XP Tablet Edition) and none of them have no access to the internet problem.  I ran ipconfig/release and / renew without any result.

I did all the following: netsh winsock reset catalog
    netsh int ip reset reset.log
    netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log.
    Still no access.
I opened regedit and went to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters and set the following registry value:
    Value name: IPEnableRouter
    Value type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 1 (this is the only value I changed - from 0 to 1)
I then exit regedit and reboot... still no access.  BTW: I noticed now that this entry (IPEnableRouter), nor any of its values, is no longer even exist in my registry.  I think it has something to do with my changing parameters of Cisco Linksys E1000 router to allow me access to my home network.  In addition, even if she says that I'm connected to my home network and the router, I don't see two other computers in the network, only the items that I share my desktop.
I changed the "Preferred DNS server" to 208.67.222.222 as instructed in a possible solution I found on the web (in XP, of course) and, when it does not, changed to 208.67.220.220 instructions, but no.  Still nothing.
I can access any Web site... IF I KNOW THE IP ADDRESS!  Unfortunately, my mind is not enough powerful or with enough RAM to remind all the IP addresses that I never go, not to mention every single IP address in the internet.
If I had remembered to I have copied to Notepad (so I could then copy here) the results of an ipconfig/all command, but I didn't.  If this will help, let me know and I'll get it and post it.  I know that some errors I have received are 'Windows could not automatically detect the network proxy settings"and"registration of the DNS records failed.  The parameter is incorrect"and" an error occurred during the liberation interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1: the system cannot find the specified file. "
Some of the results of an ipconfig/command all, I write down, such as those that came out as strange or maybe wrong.  They are as follows:
    Active IP routing: NO
    WINS proxy enabled: NO
    Host name: (empty)
    Suffix primary DNS: (empty)
    Node type: hybrid
DNS suffix search list: News:[email protected] (Yes, I use Road Runner by Time Warner, and no, they were not able to help at all)
    Other results:
    ISATAP.KC.RR.com tunnel adapter
State of the media: Media disconnected
    Card tunnel Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface
State of the media: Media disconnected
Please keep in mind that all computers connected to this wireless router have no problem with access to the internet and this computer can access in Windows XP but not Windows 7.  In other words, is there anything wrong with the router and nothing wrong with the wireless network adapter.  Besides, I tried to reboot the router and even resetting (much to the chagrin of my other significant because she was not happy with not being able to access the internet until I was finally able to re - install the router)
!).  I have also turned off my system, removed the card wireless adapter, waited for about 15 minutes, re-inserted in the PCI slot and return to market the system.  This, of course, did nothing, either.
After the search for several days and trying various tactics and bugs as suggested all over the web, I'm at the end of my limited knowledge and patience with this problem.  Any help that will solve this problem and allow my Windows 7 to access, once again, the internet would be greatly appreciated.  As a last resort, I might have to re - install Windows 7, but I also read the posts where others have done so, but nothing helped. :(
    Thank you
    Lakusus
    The system configuration:
Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium 32-bit of Windows XP Home Edition operating systems and in a dual-boot configuration
Card mother ASUS M4A89GTD PRO series
AMD Athlon (TM) II X 4 640 clocked at 3.49 GHz
    2.00 GB of RAM
    Linksys Wireless-G PCI adapt
Graphics card XFX ATI Radeon HD 5750 card w/1 GB GDDR5 memory
Two hard drives 1 TB SATA and a 250 GB HARD drive partitioned into a total of 10 discs
    Burner DVD HL-DT-ST DVDRAM

In fact, I have since fixed my problem.  Believe it or not, it wasn't any major and detailed process.  It was a very simple thing that NONE of the resolutions on that I read even suggested might be the cause, so I don't even think to check it out.  Apparently, at any given time a week ago, or NAME of the COMPUTER, something erased my!  I forgot how I found this, but I think that I went to my device manager by double-clicking on the icon "Computer" and select 'Properties' and happened to notice that, under 'Settings of computer name, domain, and workgroup', the ' computer name: "and" full computer name: "fields were empty!

SO, I clicked on 'Advanced system settings' on the left of the window properties, select the "computer name" tab (1st one at the top left of the window that has popped up) and down to "to rename this computer, click on change." I clicked on the button 'change... '. ».
In the next window which displayed I got the name I initially chose for my desktop, clicked the button "More"... ' and 'News:[email protected]' in the ' suffix main DNS on this computer: "on the ground (as is my Internet service provider - others may be different) and ensured that the box"Change the suffix main DNS when the domain membership changes"has been checked.
Then, I clicked OK on this window.  I then made sure that the "Working Group:" radio button was selected and typed "WORKGROUP" in the field below, then click 'OK '.
Return to the window' system properties 'original, I clicked 'Apply' and 'OK' and then restarted my system.
Windows 7 being loading, all of a sudden all these programs that were inactive for the past few days began to appear and load and update!  YAY! Laughing out loud
So, the reason I went into detail about how I solved it is in case anyone else has this same problem, they can check and, if the computer name has also been deleted, follow these steps to correct the problem. Of course, you will need to contact your service provider (if other than the Road Runner by Time Warner) in order to obtain the primary DNS suffix.  I hope this will help others I do not go through the terror I lived not having access to the internet.  Aaaaarrrrggghh!  I MUST have my internet! • Cisco Secure ACS 4.2 Windows authentication of different domain

    Hello

I have a Cisco Secure ACS for Windows Server 4.2. The server belongs to a domain and the domain, the users belonging to a certain group are authenticated.

Now, I have to change the configuration of the server and reassign it to another area. There is no trust relationship between two domains and I would like to know if users can always be authenticated against the previous domain.

    Hello

First of all, take backup (by measure of precaution in order to restore config if something goes wrong) then continue witht the following:

-Remove the configuration of the windows domain (group... mapping etc) from the server before changing the field.

-Change the domain membership, and then restart.

-follow the missions post-disiez for ACS (see this link): http://tiny.cc/zr6huw.

-Configure the external database again on GBA (group mapping, strategy unknown user... etc).

You should note that if the new domain controller is Windows Server 2008 R2, which is not supported by ACS 4.x.

  • Change of host and domain name ownership virtual vCenter Server... issues to know?

Looking to change the name and domain membership of our vCenter server v4.0 virtual host\system to harmonize them with the rest of our servers and make it consistent with our security policy.  Are there things I should be aware to allow migration of fluids before, during or after the change of name and the field?  The vCenter server is a unique system that hosts all the necessary services and applications for vCenter, so there is not a second box that he speaks for something out of control two ESX servers for the cluster on which it resides.

Yes... Especially in vSphere where there is no license server is all the function key.  I don't foresee any problems.  But if you use a license server may want to change your license IP source if it is not already.

You can also simply restart the vpx on your ESX host agents if you see weird problems

Now the question that I get is this error on the second elseif

The term 'elseif' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or an executable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path has been included, make sure the path is correct, and then try again.

If I swap the the two elseif autour, I get the error on the second, once again. I realize these are more or a problem of powershell but someone here will be able to understand what I'm doing

    Thank you

It seems that you have an 'else' before the 'elseif '.

I suspect that the indentation will put you on the wrong foot.

BTW, I used the ISESteroids factoring for correct alignment.

  • VCHB 6.4 cannot authenticate the AD to secondary node

Basically, I inherited a VHCB 6.4 environment.  What I see are a primary and secondary server both with the

same name (we'll call it SERVER001p - not real name ).  In the config VCHB I see them as Non-identical.

The two are set to use SERVER001 as the name used to connect to vCenter, and their computer name are both

SERVER001P.   This seems odd to me - that must have a different computer name.

It doesn't matter when I go to failover to the secondary server, it works - to a point.   I can get to vCenter

by the client using the IP address.  But when I go to connect, I have to use a local administrator account to get in.

It seems to me that something funky with the domain membership happened on the secondary node due

by the way, they both have the same computer name.  I thought about removing the field school,

and rename and closer again in the field.   But I'm afraid that the law of the suppression of secondary education

the domain may cause a problem with the primary because they both have the same name.

There an insight or tips on the best way to solve this problem without impact on the environment?

    Thank you!

You can provide the credentials and the server will be removed from the domain (from the point of view of server). You don't need connectivity of field to remove a server from the domain.

  • Windows Virtual PC integrated with components lock me out of my WinXP - error of OEM comments - "the system could not log. Make sure that your user name and domain are correct... »

With my new desktop Windows 7 hardware configuration, I decided (before you consider VMware Player) to retry Windows Virtual PC; but instead of using Windows XP Mode (which is useless because the disk is inaccessible), I decided to use my own Windows XP Pro OEM. [I use it for games that won't play on Win7.  Security issues are also irrelevant, because for these games, I'm not likely to use the Web.  Of course, I always Windows Security Essentials in my OEM customers.]

The problem here is, whenever I have to Activate my integration, features VPC opens as if the Windows XP Mode have been installed (it is not); and when the screen is turned on, it asks my user name and password.  I tried to use the name and the password that I entered when installing my XP OEM; but I get this message:

"The system could not log.  Make sure that your user name and domain are correct.  Type your password again.  Letters in passwords must be entered using the proper case. »

How is it that I can't access my Windows XP OEM guest when the integration features are enabled?  Only when they are disabled can I activate my OS; invited but it's counterproductive, because I won't be able to move items from my host in my comments.  Once more, if I should decide to use VPC as my host VM for Linux Ubuntu/Kubuntu, what chance is there that the activation of the integration features will lock out me my Linux guest?

Another thing: in the Start Menu under Windows Virtual PC folder I have shortcuts for ' Windows Virtual PC ' or 'Virtual Machines' (according to the Win7 version I use, 32-bit or 64-bit); but I also have "Windows XP Mode", I have not installed.  How is that possible?  I checked the shortcut, and point it to rundll32.exe.  Should I just get rid of the shortcut, or I will incur damage to my VPC if I do?

  • vCloud Director 5.1 - Windows Domain Join comments

    Hi people,

    Nice day!

I'm trying to reach my windows guest domain using customization of comments. But failed to do so. I saw an article declaring THAT DHCP should be in place to allow the junction of field of comments. But the article was for version 1.5. vCloud Director 5.1 need DHCP also can join prompt windows to the field? Please specify. Where I can pull logs for the same thing. (long back, I tried with vCD 5.1 static and successful pool.) Now no hint of what could be the problem).

    Best regards

    Hari.

    I had the problem solved.

    Previous AD configuration:

    Domain:

    User: /.

    Updated the Configuration:

    Domain:

    User:

I made these changes I see in the netlog inside the guest os tries to connect with AD User "//"

As you can see, it takes default domain for the user account of field of the attribute. So do not give NetBIOS or the domain user name before! BASICS!

    Thank you very much...

    Hari.

  • Unable to join the domain using customization comments vCD

I have vCloud Director installed and running.  I created a vApp and edited the properties to allow customization of comments and more everything works so far but the computer will not join the domain.  I tried to use organization customization, as well as customize the TIME after deployment.  As soon as the server ends with the customization and is powered, I can log in and join the domain manually without any problem, I can't get comments customization to do that for me.   Its a Windows 2008 R2 server.  I found this entry at the end of the journal to customize-comments on the server:

run the command netsh interface ip set dns 12 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx static (it has the correct address for my DNS server) =

The command has been successfully run, the output of the command:

The configured DNS server is incorrect or does not exist

    Any thoughts?

It is a farily well known problem.  For a join of field works in vCloud Director, you must have on your DHCP subnet.  Many people make using the vShield edge device that is located on the network of the Org.  The sysprep process runs before tools VMware is running (which applies to the satic IP address to the client).  It's sort of a situation or hen that the guest has ip when in sysprep, so the easy solution to make it work is DHCP.  Conversely, people did it is in port, a lab post script custization in vCD Manager who entered the field after the sysprep is made completely and the guest it's static IP.  Frankly, it's something of the order of operations that is causing the problem.  We are looking at this for other clients, but at the moment, what your options are

    (1) add DHCP to the subnet by using your own server DHCP OR vShield Edge

    (2) add a PostScript of customization to join the domain, it can be inserted into the comments thus customizaion area.

Hope this helps you stop banging their heads on the wall

  • Domain join when you use a customization of comments (sysprep)

    All,

I just started experimenting with using a sysprep comments customization with one of my view stocks and noticed a few things:

    Display using Vista, 4.6:

    • Once desktop computers are put in service and start, they now ask a computer name.
      • They used to get renamed by View Manager.
    • They also no longer join the field.
      • It's used to work too.
    • After the local login, they push me to identify the network connection such as Home\Work\Public.

My guess is that Sysprep is now handling customization, View Manager will be the name of the virtual machine (host name, no VM name) is more or join them to the domain.  I have not edited my Sysprep.inf file for that renowned or computers joined to the domain, I was really hoping to have View Manager handle this.  I want the "Names of VM" Virtual Machine to match the name of the host as the operating system setup.

It's true that I now need to rely on Sysprep to manage all of the above?  It is not super clear in the display Manager Interface.

    Thank you

    Drew

Sorry, I was in the car earlier and couldn't post a lot of details.   If you were to create a customization specification in vCenter you can choose the option to the name of the guest to match the virtual machine.  You could then define your domain information so that he would join during the sysprep process.     Once you have completed your customization, you can change the pool and select this customization.   I have used sysprep a few times on a few pools test and it seems to work fine.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi Davide.

First of all, you need to add a user View Composer vCenter server settings page this drop down is filled. Instructions on this operation is located on page 14 of the guide in the section titled creating a user account for View Composer:

  • How can I change the domain to a server of comment?

    Acrobat 9 on Windows 7

In addition to editing the registry, how can I change the URL of a comment server which I use for exams?

Earlier, I initiated a shared review but used only the host name of the server, not the fully qualified name (FQN) which includes the full domain name. Now, when I reuse this server for other comments that I initiate, I'm stuck with the unqualified name. People outside of my subnet cannot post comments on the server because the simple host name is not known on their subnet.

How can I change the properties of this server so clients use the FQN?

    Jerry

Yes, you can change the server name in the registry. After change, all the comments that you initiate with this profile will point to the new server location.
