Communication between two network cards on windows 2003

Hi all

I need your help.

I have a machine virtual windows 2003 with two network adapters.

NIC 1 - external - 192.168.1.101

Map NETWORK 2 10.10.10.1 - internal -.

I've configured to operate as a DC and DNS serving 10.10.10.x network.

DNS is configured to resolve before on 192.168.1.1 as redirector DNS requests.

I have other machines connected to the 10.10.10.x network.

They can ping 10.10.10.1, they can ping 192.168.1.101 but not 192.168.1.1

I want to just be able to talk to 192.168.1.1 and be able to access the internet.

No firewall between the two.

Command-line may help, but I would need your help.

  • Routing between two network cards

I have 8 fiber switches that are configured to use a private network for management.

    The subnet is 192.168.8.0/24.

I have a W2K3 (SERVER A) server with two NICS, a NIC (192.168.8.1) is attached to

the 192.168.8.0 subnet and the other (192.168.100.14) NETWORK adapter is attached to the subnet 192.168.100.0/24.

I put up two persistent routes of road between these NICS using the following commands:

    Pei route add 192.168.8.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.100.14

    Pei route add 192.168.100.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.8.1

I have an other W2K3 server (SERVER B) with a single NETWORK (192.168.100.12) card that must be able

to connect with the fiber switches via tcp/ip. Packets should be routed to this server.

On that I put in place a permanent route:

    Pei route add 192.168.8.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.100.14

    Everything works very well.

(Assumes that the SERVER-A and SERVER B are now turned off)

I'm trying to reproduce this on my VMware ESX Server 3.5upd3.

ESX server has two NICS, one attached to each of the subnets. I create a virtual machine to replace SERVER-a

with the same number of network cards and the same IP addresses.

I then create routes as follows:

    Pei route add 192.168.8.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.100.14

    Pei route add 192.168.100.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.8.1

PROBLEM: as soon as I add the second route I can no longer ping any server on the 192.168.100.0 subnet.

This also causes connections to last very long.

Do I need to implement routing between network adapters ESX scale to make this work?

If so maybe want the command look like? If not, what could be my problem?

Thank you for the helpful answers

If you want to configure your machine as a router, you will need to notify the router is the next hop.  Now, the next machine break is its own interfaces, which will not work.  And since you are running some sort of routing protocol, provide two solutions to exit the server is not a good idea, because he doesn't know that one to use.  It will use 1 for some and another for some.

Do what you intend (or I think you intend), you must delete the static routes and choose a default route, which will be your next jump.  This should be another router in your environment.  Then, the other servers that you want to route via ServerA, ServerA interface on this segment would remind you.

    Hope that makes sense.

  • Since the execution of an update of windows, I still lose my two network icons in windows Explorer.

    Original title: lost icons

I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on a home network with two computers, and two network storage devices since I did a big update windows I keep losing my two network icons in windows Explorer, but I can see other computers

    Hi PeterHH,

You're talking about the two icons of network in windows Explorer? Is storage devices?

    Method 1:

You can try to run the network troubleshooter, and check if it helps:

Windows wireless and wired network connection problems

    Method 2:

You can also refer to the computer or the device manufacturer's Web site and try to install the latest version of the network card drivers:

In the case of 3602e as bridge link and you bet the config is a working one, then I would check the antennas if they are properly aligned, if you use a higher gain, a good one would be a necessary in the case of 3602e, I think that Yes.

  • Tecra A10 - 12O: installing the driver network card in Windows Server 2003 R2 Std

    Hello

I received 6 laptop Tecra A10 - 12O, and we need to install Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition with SP2 in all these six machines. Windows Server 2003 has been installed perfectly, but now we have only the network LAN card to work but we are unable to install its driver. When I installed Windows XP from the supplied DVD for Toshiba, it says Intel 82567V Gigabit network adapter. I tried to download the drivers for this adatpor of drivers Toshiba, Intel Web site, but it will not install in Windows Server 2003. I also tried manually force to choose and install a driver from the list, I choose that it will install but shows yellow question mark in Device Manager means that it does not work with this driver.

I also tried the same Intel 82567V drivers from some sites non-Toshiba, of these models using the same network card, but is not truck drivers at all.

I understand these laptop computers does not support Windows Server 2003, but these were ordered to be used as servers with Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and I am required to make the Installer only with activated and installed network adapter.

I try last week and exhausted all means to get the installed network adapter driver, but all have failed. Can someone please help with this? All support will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Charwal

    Hey Buddy

If I m not wrong Windows Server 2003 uses the same drivers as Win XP and I guess that it s driver problem not a LAN, but perhaps also the problem of Windows Server 2003 installed.

You are right; the LAN chip seems to be Intel 82567V and the LAN driver downloaded from Intel page should work 100%.

In your case, I would recommend installing the chipset driver.
Remove the LAN card from Device Manager, then restart the laptop.
Then go back to Device Manager and update driver in pointing devices Manager to the place where the driver downloaded LAN was stored on the HARD drive.

  • Problem network card under Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit

Hello. In our Organization a few days, the following problems occur. Windows 7 32 bit installed on a machine intel NIC 82579lm lost communication. This thing happened to 12 32-bit machines. TCP/ipv4 Protocol is inactive. Reinstall the drivers, but the result is the same. At the beginning of the Working Group network card live cd. Restore point a mistake that does not unfortunately. Help, please.

We found that a temporary solution begins at the point of restoration from the installation CD. So stop updates. Most likely, the problem is updated after the 22/10/2013.

    Hello

Here are some tips that I wrote on Vista and Windows updates.

It also applies to Windows 7.

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the "bad" for your configuration, unless you read the information on the number of special KB and what it is for.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

    'Remove an update'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again

"How to hide or show an update of Windows Vista"

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/72491-Windows-Update.html

Here's how to chanage update settings, if you think it is necessary to:

"Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-updates-and-extras/

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

    See you soon.

  • I want to create communication between two laptops by Bluetooth series

    Hello

I'm trying to accomplish communication series between two laptops via a Bluetooth connection.

The two laptops are NOT portable Toshiba, but they work together the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack For Windows. They have both also use the default Bluetooth Manager program supplied by Toshiba and Dell (just rebadged?).

Basically I can set up a connection no problem, but then I have never send data serially from one computer and watch the receiver serial port on another computer but nothing happens.

Is there a good tutorials for this? It would be nice to have something for the Toshiba Bluetooth Manager especially windows and buttons have names as explained in the tutorial.

    Thanks in advance.

    Adam

I tried via a hyperterminal connection for testing purposes and it worked.
Maybe the description also contains useful information for you.
    It is here:

    PC1:
Start "Bluetooth settings-> Mode custom-> Select Remote PC-> Select"Serial Port"-> Accept proposed (in my case COM40) COM-> Confirm Assistant windows port
    until the installation is completed".

    PC2:
    Start 'HyperTerminal-> Select COM7.

    PC1:
Start 'HyperTerminal-> Select COM40 (in my case. (See step 1 above) »

    PC1, PC2:
Enter the password even if security is enabled for example "0000".

    PC1:
Everything you type in HyperTerminal must be visible in HyperTerminal of PC2 and vice versa.

  • Unable to connect to the internet with the NETWORK card and Windows Millennium Edition.

    Hello

I turned on my old computer yesterday, who has installed Windows Millennium Edition. At the back of the computer is an Ethernet port which is marked as LIEN ACT. The NIC with this port is Realtek 8139 PCI Fast Internet Adapter. I spend two hours on the Internet configuration and I did and finally got connected, but then, a few hours after, something went wrong and the Internet and the NETWORK card has stopped working! And the card has disappeared from the Device Manager, but he's still showing in network in Control Panel. I opened the computer and I reconnected it to the slot, but it did not help. At the back of the computer next to this port are two LEDs - green indicates the power that lights up when I plug the Internet cable and the other orange indicates actual connection. But now these two LEDs are not indicating something even when I plugged in the cable to the Internet, which comes from my router. In the computer a Dial Up connection PCI is installed too, but I disabled it. I used Dial-Up in 2002. So, I need help.
But I know that I can connect with this Ethernet card to the Internet because it worked for 3 hours, I've loaded the pages and downloaded programs.
Please don't point, should I upgrade Windows!
    Thank you.

    Hi friend,
You can try a Bing search on connectivity to Win ME, I don't know there are still a few old sites that are not taken down you will find a few FAQ on.
I saw not a ME machine in too many years to count!
    Good luck on your adventure.

  • GPIB communication between two computers

I try to communicate between two computers via GPIB. A computer to send an order, the other will receive, save and then respond accordingly. This response will then be received by the first computer and displays (this is the emulation of a device, the real need is to communicate with a satellite TT & C)

I realized all of this. However, to be in listening mode I wired a property node with a timeout-infinity (1) before reading. Now I can't leave the VI as he is still stuck in playback until the receipt of an order.

How can I get out of the VI when he's stuck in playback function.

PS: Using GPIB for communication is a requiremnet of ht eproect and cannot be replaced.

    Hello

You can have the timeout of read and then clear the error and keep looping until you get a message.  And then you can use arithmetic consisting of stop the loop if you click on the stop button, or get one error other than a timeout, or if playback returns data.

If it works for you?  I joined your 'writing and then read.vi' with the added code.  Double check my logic, I'm sure it's just but not run it.  Also, if you return a large amount of data make sure that the time-out period is sufficient.

    Hey Femi92

I suggest that you use a friends computer to go to your computer manufacturers website and search for your model number for the network vista drivers

Download and save to drive flash and then reinstall them using your computer

  • Between two networks of rooting

    Hi all

I want to test a network topology that includes 5 pc is connected to the same switch. The problem is that I want to have the first 3 pc with ip 192.168.1.x and the rest 2 with ip 192.168.2.x.

Is it possible, through Vmware Workstation?

    Thank you in advance.

    Of course it is possible.

You run 5 images on the same box.

The only thing you need to do is activate the functionality of routing on the host machine or on any of the virtual machines with 2 cards NIC.

In case you are referring to 5 virtual machines running on VMware ESX Server you can enable the routing feature by adding two NIC cards.

You can use any OS and enable routing.

    Kind regards

  • TimesTen - Communication between two DSN

    Hello

Currently I have a setup in Oracle DB in which there are two databases and objects are accessible in all of these databases via the link/synonyms database.

Now, I need to replicate that in a Cache Timesten InMemory DB underlying of Oracle databases configuration that would involve the creation of a link between two DSN names stored on two different servers.

Can you guide me on how to go about it.

    Thank you
    Karan

Unfortunately there are several constraints here that aren't going to help you:

    1. when using the TimesTen "cache" feature a single TimesTen database can only cache data to a backend Oracle single instance. Only regular tables can be cached (not views, dblinks etc.). So, if you have two instances of Oracle Db and you need data in cache at the same time you will need two TimesTen databases.

    2. as mentioned, TimesTen does not support dblinks, remote queries or queries/transactions distributed between various databases TimesTen (well, what he does in some circumstances, but anything that will help you I think).

3 TimesTen can replicate data between different databases TimesTen, but in general you can not use the level replication table with cache tables.

So I think, to adopt TimesTen in your application as an important architectural work may be necessary. Only you can be the judge of that, of course, but considering this please keep in mind the constraints above.

    Kind regards
