Compaq presario R3000 Intel P4 2.4 ghz

Hello everyone,

It's my second company with a computer compaq laptop, it began its life with me after having been almost entirely immerse in water.

I now resurrected the motherboard of ashes so to speak - just have the 1394 and the usb2 port on this side to enter the order (like a lost cause)

Anyway, I started the mobo Infact that I use to write here on my test bench, I lightly with the bios problem that maybe someone can help?

Seems all the tags, sno., ect uuid are now replaced by Chinese characters lol, that it is a result of the previous owner or water damage is not possible to say. Obviously, I initially far flashed the Bios, however it seems that these data remain unchanged probably not a writing area or something that is copied across for obvious reasons, I guess. Seems to me it would be protected by some sort of program/utility to repair this area, changes in the mobo must require in a service center. I have Phlash16 that seems possible to edit the information by using this utility, but appears long.

Anyway, anyone know a reasonably simple to get this sort? I'm thinking of decompression of the bios change and flashing the chip with a dump directly edited to reinsert the data - don't really want to go there lol even though I have enough experience to do I don't know.

Things stand the mobo of laptop is not recognized by the automatic detection for model HP compaq, it seems so likely there will be problems when using microsoft support area since I reinstalled obviously an OS that is pre-activated and in its current form, they are not would still be a compaq/HP type lol.

I thank you for the research and assistance, you may be able to offer, pending if I find a way to solve this problem, I will present my findings and how.

Well, that was easier than I expected lol.

Find a copy of HPBC107.exe (not easy, but they hit)

If no drive disk, then you need to create a bootable cd, in my case for ease, I used a standard back to bootdisk.com bootable image. Insert a cd player usb to the sides of the Interior. copy HPBC107.exe to a disc, but also the BIOS rom image (it is said to do in the Readme app well that I am not convinced that this was necessary). I went from a: d.: after the start and connected the internal drive of the app.

Nice screen pops up, a lot of service options including model series, uuid ect.

I read all the data and it was indeed quite clear! Despite the junk on the page of the bios. It seems that the series mobo was not correct, that perhaps he had been changed out in the past, who knows. I corrected as well as rewriting all the other data. took about 2 minutes.

A reboot in the bios and happy days - no more Chinese characters ect.

The very best BIT - now the usb2, and 1394 ports have burst into life!

the app is good for a few models which it says in the readme file.

Supported platforms: HP NX9100, NX9105 HP, HP NX9110, Presario R3000 Presario R4000 Pavilion ZV5000, Pavilion ZV6000, ZX5000 Pavilion

That's a revelation:

^^ Is very useful is not it, I can't think of one good reason for this!

hope this effort bit helps someone.

Yes, the T7200 is nice because of the 4 MB cache and can run a 64 bit (not necessary and not recommended unless you can install 4 GB of memory or more) OS.

The T2500 can only run a 32 bit OS, but it will certainly better than celery (I like to call them) processor you have in there now.

  • How to fix the microphone in Compaq Presario R3000

Original thread title - how to fix the microphone in Compaq Presario R3000?

    Hello
I have a laptop Compaq Presario R3000, and I tried to use Skype on it. Problem is that the other end can't hear me. I tried all the suggestions on the site of Skype to try and attach the microphone.  I tried the recorder (click programs, accessories, then entertainment to access), but when I record my voice, nothing, so I guess it has something to do with the microphone. Just to be sure - this model has an internal microphone? What I've read, it seems that it does. I downloaded the updated drivers, so I don't think that's the problem. Any suggestions? I'll try anything now, because I spent about 6 hours online trying to get the microphone to work and so far, nothing. Thank you! Patti

    Hello

    1. What problem is only on Skype?

    2. were you able to use this microphone earlier?

3 have there been any changes made on the computer before the show?

    4. what operating system are you using on your computer?

I suggest you to consult the steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

I did a software update to microsoft windows, and when it's over, I was directed to reboot my laptop. After the reboot, I have my laptop wouldn't restart.  The windows xp screen would come and after a while the screen asking if I want to start in safe mode, safe mode with command prompt or of the last good connection. I selected all three at different times; However, it never restarts. In the selection of safe mode, I get a bunch of commands that scroll on the screen, but after a while, the windows xp screen comes back. I can perform a f10, but I am unable to find something that will help me to restart. can anyone help?

  • PC Compaq laptop Presario R3000 (AMD) supports WPA2-PSK?

    Hi all

I know it's an old laptop (Compaq Presario R3000 (AMD) Notebook PC).

I installed the patch from MS http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=1974

Can someone tell me the reason? Is it because that which does not support my network card

    the new standard wpa2?

  • Compaq Presario C700 stops frequently

I have Compaq Presario C700. There: 1.73 GHz Pentium Dual-Core Mobile Processor T2370, up to 2 GB DDR2,

Recently, I noticed that the laptop stops frequently when I'm listening to music, watching movies, or sometimes when you work. I did some research on the problem and I found that most people say find the manual on COMPAQ.com and watch the plug in order to open the laptop, then spray/clean fans / or heating of the parts. Is it the right thing to do.

Several times a laptop overheating is directly related to the cooling of the processor. The main culprit is the fan. The fan draws in air from the bottom and it blows on the side. It will also suck in the hair, dust and other debris. Often this kind of thing is trapped by the heat sink and the wire time accumulates in a layer that stifles the cool air, go to the processor, making the fan to redouble their efforts.

    Read this:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01657439

What I recommend is to take a canned air and blow out vents in the side and the underside of the laptop. If after that you still have overheating problems and your laptop is under warranty, you can take your laptop to an authorized Service Center HP and ask them to clean the fan and the heat sink. You can check your warranty here:

    http://www13.itrc.HP.com/service/ewarranty/warrantyResults.do?admit=109447627+1286541891570+28353475

If it is out of warranty, consider looking for the service manual for your specific model, in the manual it is patterns to disassemble the laptop. It is much easier that remove a motherboard, so don't feel intimidated by the idea of clean the fan. Also you can remove the heat sink and then remove the thermal grease and apply a new layer, which also helps reduce heat related issues.

  • 5 GHz WiFi card update - Compaq Presario

I just got a new router today and found out that it is a double router broadband and supports the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. I was wondering if I could update my existing WiFi card that supports only the 2.4 GHz and get one that will take in charge the 5 GHz band. Also if I have a 5 GHz WiFi card in my laptop can still connect to networks that support 2.4 GHz only? How much would cost a new card? And finally, if I can improve my card, how I put in my laptop?

    Data sheet:

    Model: Compaq Presario CQ57-33WM

OS: upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro

Memory: Updated 6 GB of RAM

Hard drive: 320 GB 5400 RPM

Processor: FSB of 1333 MHz 1.50 GHz Intel Celeron processor B800

    Network cards:

    Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter

    Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller

(A lot of WAN Miniports is also listed in Device Manager)

Can I still switch my wireless card based on these specifications? It would be difficult to change? Let me know if you need more information on the computer.

Also, if it ends up that I can't change my card or it is really hard to change, could use something like this as a last resort? Double USB adapter wireless broadband

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Hello

According to the service manual this lappy does not support 5 GHz wireless cards. Most recent computers based Intel Mobile (Ivy Bridge and higher) support the latest maps wireless Intel including the last 7260AC one. Your laptop is older, so I can't say with certainty what will work or not. In this case I suggest to get some usb adapters wireless such as that of your link or one of them:

    -Memory:

I was skeptical with past more than 4 GB, however, currently functioning 6 GB (2 X 4). foung are not accidents of errors due to modules. Works perfectly.
