  • GeForce GTX 970/980 on XPS 8700

Hello, I have XPS 8700, which came with OEM GTX 745. I think it passes to the Geforce GTX 970 or 980. These word on 8700 XPS video cards?

I am particularly concerned, because system recommended for 970 power is 500 W to nVidia's specifications, total power of XPS8700 is 460 w. Has anyone installed GTX 970 or 980 on 8700 XPS?

    Hey Ryocchin,

The GTX970 or the GTX980 will work in terms of being able to connect through PCI-express port.  Where you might encounter a problem is with the physical size of the map.  I know that some 970 models can be 12 inches, I guess the 980 years can grow according to the solutions of cooling for these exotic cards.

The other piece of the puzzle is to replace the power supply.  A 460W pourrait be authorized as a basis of suppliers GPU their system requirements on the assumptions made about the power draw of the entire system & always shoot a bit on the high side.  But if your computer is a few years old is probably not turn off 460 watts.  So I recommend a new power supply.  EVGA, Corsair, XFXm and Antec have all been good for me over the years.  If you want to simulate a modular PSU that you'll save tangles of cables.

So those are the two big things to look for: physical space for the graphics card (although I'm sure that a XPS8700 will hold a 970 without problem a lot) and a new power supply.

The Dell service manual is here if you want to get an idea of what it looks like to replace components:

  • GPU-GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 970 for Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2015)? Yes or no?!

GPU-GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 970 for Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2015)? Yes or no?!

Hello. I would buy GIGABYTE GPU GeForce GTX 970 4 GB but I can't find the map on the website of Adobe system requirements. What GPU will work for Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2015)? Is activated GPU acceleration? Thanks a lot for your reply and advice in advance. Martin

They tend to cards list itself more, as they did... so they list the requirements for cards that work with the programs. Who are a minimum of 1 GB of vRAM and a few other things. As the production of internal software of the card, which is like a '3.0' or whatever and all 900-series cards are way beyond that... so with a 4 GB of vRAM card, the other issue is the number of cores CUDA has?

Current recommendations are to stay above 1 000 CUDA cores... .and most 970, I've seen are listed with hearts CUDA along 1600... so it should be good. I myself use a 970 GTX w4GB vRAM. Now... a good GPU does not in itself and make an editing machine who shouts, as only certain things go by the GPU in PrPro in any case. A bad can certainly slow things, however.

  • A geforce gtx 970 will work with premiere pro cc 2015

Right now I currently have the geforce gtx 770 4 gb card dual superclock acx video and I want to get to the video 4 GB geforce gtx 970... 970 work before I well will spend the money.

I have 970 and it works fine.

  • Conclusion on the compatibility of GTX 970/980?

I read so many different opinions that I'm now completely confused. I would like to know if it was definitively concluded weather 970 GTX has problems of compatibility with the Adobe Suite. It seems that it is at least NOT supported for After Effects ray tracing rendering engine, but it becomes obsolete anyway. I would like to know if there are PROBLEMS with rendering, playback or export into After Effects or Premiere Pro when you use the 970? Or, if the video card is fully used by the Adobe software? (Excluding Ray tracing)

UPDATE: I've read that people are successful with the GTX 970 and first pro, but many people are struggling to allow it. Could someone possibly provide instructions?

Then, you shouldn't have to do something to make it work with first for the acceleration of the EMT.  It will be just plug and play.

  • Problems: upgrade cars - msi Geforce GTX 970 graphics

I recently bought a Geforce GTX 970 of msi graphics card.

The problem is that my pc will not go through the HP-splash screen that opens before the windows splash screen.

My electricity supplier has enough power enough.

    Help me please!

HP motherboards support even msi graphics cards?

If this is not the case, what companies do support?

    Hello

Your PC was shipped only with a version 7 of HP BIOS so the NVIDIA 970 isn't going to work. There is no provision in a BIOS version 7 to deactivate or activate the secure boot or activate the UEFI.  You would see these selections on the Security tab in the BIOS if there is this selection.

Try one of these models NVIDIA GTX 660.  You only need a power supply of 450 watts.

  • XPS 8500, GeForce GTX 970, power supply upgrades

Alright Hey guys, so I did a little research, talked to a few friends and others and came to the conclusion that the upgrade of my gpu will be a good call! in any case after talking to a few people and a few computer experts I have been proposed to upgrade my gpu for a gtx 970 which I think will be great! The other question that I fell or not was the power supply will be able to handle this kind of upgrade. So after through suggestions from some other people and see what others who have improved their xps 8500 I suggested me to go with the power of 750W EVGA supernova 750 B 1 did supply (PSU) (110-B1-0750-VR) the reason behind this was expressly that he was quite a bit smaller in length to the tern I would be able to ride in the tour and that's what other people have used when starting to level of their xps 8500. Anyway sorry this is long but I assure you it is a good idea, if everything fits correctly and any other thank you GENERALS!

EVGA is a brand, and they have power supplies are built by different manufacturers.

the key is the letters B1 and G1, G2 or GS

B1/G1 are built by the FSP (OK, but not great)

Seasonic GS. (but not the best that Seasonic can build)

Superflower G2 (and it's getting good reviews.

    the best is the G2.

The G2 will be good, but be very tight.

Keep in mind that you need not 750W to add a GTX 970. 550 W of the kind of clean energy is ample. 650w is also good, but I would highly recommend a high quality PSU, and I do not include the B1 or G1 in this category.

The 8500 and the 8700 are PSU even better I can tell and there are several described in this thread.

  • NVidia Geforce GTX 960 in XPS 8300

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card Radeon HD 6450 in my XPS 8300 a GTX 960 (specifically, the edition of Strix ASUS) and I have a few questions:

He enters the case? (dimensions of the card: 21.52 x 12.12 x4.09 centimeters)

Will it work with the motherboard? (the card is pcie 3.0)

It will work with food? (460w power supply card 'up to 150W additional 6-pin PCIe consumption)

Sorry if I look like a noob but this is my first time upgrading a platform.

    Thank you!

    The graphics card:

    www.Asus.com/.../

The stock answer from Dell, it's that they tested only a handful of older cards.

The reality is that many have done on an 8300. Search this forum and see what worked.

Insofar as the PSU, yes the stock PSU THAT will work with a GTX 960. It has a PCI power with two cable six pins on the connectors. If the specific card you choose has a connector 8 pins, most of the cards equipped with a 8 pin adapter 6.

I'm not 100% on the supply POWER 8300 has two six pin PCI connector.  Best to open the case and look. I thought the 8500, a member of the family was when I wrote this.

But, how old is your system, and how much time it runs a day that it might be time to consider a new power supply. If so, search the forums for what everyone puts in their 8300, 8700 or 8900 again. They are in the same case and best I can tell essentially the same power supply.

Another advantage of upgrading the PSU will be slightly more efficient and quieter.

I upgraded to Seasonic X - 650 s of my 8700 s two and have the OEM in a box as a spare for the members of the family.

So, while I'm spending your money, you might consider a GTX 970. Prices are down because the next generation of cards is almost here. If you're game, you can consider a little more power under the hood of the GPU.

  • P6769 UK: card Geforce GTX 970 of GTX 550ti graphics upgrade

My husband bought a HP PC, because I work for HP.  The Geforce GTX550ti card worked perfectly on the P6769 UK PC running Windows 7; He bought the new card GTX 970 but couldn't make it work with Windows 7, so decided to put the old card back in and install Windows 10 to see if that would solve the problem, which was not. The old card works well running Windows 10 but not the GTX970. Despite extensive research and talk to the 'experts' that he has not yet found a solution - he has a terminal illness, so I would really appreciate help from someone in the forum to help him to enjoy what should be the great graphics for the short time he has left. Please respond to this message and personal email address [personal information deleted] If you can help.

    @Susan_HP

The NVIDIA GTX 970 will not work on your PC. Video in graphics card BIOS and the BIOS is your PC are not compatible.

I suggest that you are looking for an old graphics like the NVIDIA GTX 660. I've used both the TI 550 and 660 and the 660 is a far superior graphics card.

Thanks for posting on the forum.

  • p2714t and xps 8700

Can I install p2714t on my new xps 8700 special edition touchscreen monitor?

Yes, you can. Strangely, these two products have even been sold together in some cases: (external, not associated with DELL, Web site for reference only) http://fotki.yandex.ru/users/dell-cis/view/938987/?page=0

As a general rule, all what you have to do is install the drivers and plug it and potentially to calibrate.

Not know if you have any questions or concerns about its use in the community. Each different configuration system AHS and your 8700 is not the same as the world 8700 if sometimes complex issues may arise. :)

  • S2340T and XPS 8700

I installed as follows.  Connected the USB cable from the monitor (S2340T) to PC (XPS 8700).  Connected PC HDMI cable for monitor.  Power cord plugged in.  The monitor is turned on.  PC turned on.   Windows 8 is displayed correctly on the screen.  But the mouse and keyboard slow.  Too easy touch.  Often, I have to repeat same thing several times.  plays background music - same short sounds.

If I unplug the USB cable, keyboard & mouse then behaves normally, and the music stops playing.  It proves that if HDMI and USB is plugged at the same time, there is a mismatch.  But then touch screen does not like he needs the USB connection.  No software not loaded for the monitor.

    What is the problem

Of course, it says not supported, but I doubt because I'm scared like * BEEEP! * now that I saw this topic I searched

I am owner of a GTX 660 Ti OC 2 GB and it works perfectly with my first Pro CC 2014. However, I was about to buy a GIGABYTE Nvidia GTX 970 until I thought: ' this will work with my Premiere Pro CC 2014?..» Ask for more... Been asked and nobody answered me.

Because I don't want to buy a card that only will NOT WORK AT ALL with my CC 2014!

In other works: if I buy a GTX 970, it will work with Adobe first Pro CC 2014 COMPLETELY/FULL POWER, supported or not?

Please answer as soon as POSSIBLE!

Now the 900 series cards are tested very well with the MPE engine and acceleration of time. I have not seen any limitation, including the effects. So I don't know where people are facing problems. Acceleration of EI is Raytracer and on track. Do not expect in the Nvidia drivers to maintain the AE version has even and I would be surprised if the new maps to work with it since Adobe is emerging. Very little use at this stage and C4D with octane is much better especially for GPU acceleration.

  • GeForce GTX 780M and After Effects

I just got a new iMac with the GeForce GTX 780 M 4 GB of VRAM, and I was hoping I could use the 3D effects of Ray-tracing. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but the option to upgrade to the GPU is grayed out. I have not installed anything except After Effects since I have the machine, so maybe I need to install CUDA? Where would I get the drivers for it so that I could try.

    David Faircloth

This card is not on the list of the cards tested and supported for After Effects for the GPU of the 3D rendering engine acceleration traced to the RADIUS.

If you use after effects CC (12.1), you can ignore this fact and choose the option «Enable GPU untested, unsupported...» "to try to use the card anyway. Details:
