compilation of the forms on the Oracle 11 g Rel1 very slow server
I think that the following statement is the origin of the problem:SELECT COUNT (*)
OF OBJECT
WHERE (OWNER = 'SYS' AND OBJECT_NAME = 'DBMS_JAVA' AND OBJECT_TYPE = 'PACKAGE' AND OBJECT. STATE = 'VALID')
OR (OWNER = 'SYSTEM' AND OBJECT_NAME = 'ORA_DE_REFLECTION' AND OBJECT_TYPE = 'PACKAGE' AND OBJECT. STATE = 'VALID')
OR (OWNER = 'SYSTEM' AND OBJECT_NAME = ' oracle/opb/reflection "AND OBJECT_TYPE = 'JAVA CLASS" AND object. ") STATE = 'VALID')
OR (OWNER = 'SYSTEM' AND OBJECT_NAME = ' oracle/opb/SchemaClassLoader' AND OBJECT_TYPE = 'JAVA CLASS"AND object. STATE = 'VALID')
/
I see the compiler submitting the above statement.
With sqlplus this statement takes 7secs.
someone at - it an idea?

You don't mention the version of forms, but probably you have a known problem. Discussed the details in Note 1099035.1 MyOracleSupport a patch is available and described in the note.

This problem started one or two days ago, when I started my youtube and the sound was very slow. I tried with google chrome and the sound was ok. And I tested with Windows Player and it is ok as well. Only with firefox, I hear the sound very badly (slowly), I like firefox and I don't want to give up on it. So please help me with this problem.
Thank you very much
RamonaHello
If it is low volume in Firefox, you may need to increase the volume for Firefox under Windows. Please see that.

In Excel 2007, copy the conditional formatting cells is very slow
I've just upgraded to Excel 2007 (SP 2) since 2000 in the hope that it would be faster. I have a large spreadsheet consisting of a database of about 5000 lines and a number of leaves each grids showing cells of 7 x 7 with conditional formatting in each cell.
In 2000, I had to stop automatic recalculation. In 2007, the recalculation is much faster, but when I created a piece of copy and past cells 7 x 7 with their conditional formatting, it is very slow and eventually is short-term memory.
I am running XP service pack 3 on processor 1.6 ghz with 1.9 GB of ram.
Any suggestions?Hello bailes2,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

Today, my computer is very slow and jerky. In the Task Manager, CPU is always at 50% or more when none of the tasks are running. I don't know why this just happened out of nowhere, but I don't know what to do.
I noticed things:
In the Task Manager, showing processes from all users, are the two things that use CPU: idle process of the system (under the name of user, SYSTEM) and ((sous le nom d'utilisateur, SYSTÈME) system (as the description says NT kernel & system).)
Both use upward around 48-50 CPU when running nothing, while the System Idle Process CPU decreases dramatically every time I click on something.
If anyone can help understand me why Vista is upward today, I would be very happy!
Wow, I have fixed the problem before you posted right! What a coincidence! I was disappointed that it took me hours of tree to find out how to solve this problem, it turns out that all I had to do was restart my computer. After restarting, "Sysem" was 3% of CPU. Now everything is running back to normal. I'll still try and discover what it is and why it can swell into a giant monster of CPU consumption.
Thanks for your help!

The XP PRO system running very slow!
slow?
XP PRO SP 3, MS Updates all installed. 1.96 GB of RAM. 3.20 GhzIt takes the system never start, the user finally logs and it always take before she can open a program (any program is: IE 8, AutoCAD, Explorer, MSCONFIG, etc.)
What I did:
(1) installed and run the following tests:
Glary Utilities, Malwarebytes, Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware. Some malware, spyware and adware found and removed, I ran every program at least 2 times just to make sure that there are no more problems. I installed and updated all the software scan in normal mode run the scans in safe mode.(2) program Ran Trend Micro Anti Virus and no viruses were found.
(3) Ran SCANDISK, it took several hours (step 4 of 5 has taken more than 6 1/2 hours to complete, it is still running when I left the office and I don't know how long a step 5) and when I came back the next day, logon screen is on the rise.
(4) to defragment the hard drive - 2 times - both times it took forever.
(5) went into MSCONFIG and disabled all programs start and started the system and again, it takes forever the system start-up and connection and anything on the system.
(6) hard drive has over 95 GB of free space is not a problem
(7) delete temporary Internet files.
(8) checked for conflicts Device Manager and there is not.
What else can I do to verify this system before I format and install the system. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Robin
I ran the Seagate SeaTools and passed all the tests. Ran the Dell Diagnostics program and he hung up, I had to unplug the system and when I tried to turn it on it would not. Reference Dell sends a technician replace the card mother, memory and power supply and possibly the hard drive. see how the system works after all is replaced.
Thanks for your suggestions. I'll post back with the result. -
I am runnig windows xp and avg spyware. in the Task Manager, it shows as an avg program running with 95% of CPU usage. have trried to uninstall avg and it just adds to the bottom of programs running on the Task Manager. How to solve the problem and speed up computer.
I am a consumer like you and am not associated with Microsoft. If check you this thread later one of the mods forum could give you some better suggestions I can offer.
If you are having problems with AVG, you may need to ask for help on the AVG forum.
If you want to uninstall AVG and cannot do it using Add/Remove Programs, you might need a tool for uninstalling AVG:

Oracle Sql Developer is very slow
Hello
I ' have a big problem with SQL developer. We have a lot of databases on the connections.xml (about 1600 databases Oracle) file. When we start SQL developer, it took about 10 minutes to open. Can what solutions we use to open this application more quickly?
We have already tried to add this line to the sqldeveloper.conf file:
AddVMOption - Sqldev.tnsping = false
But we see no change.
We must have a solution to fix this problem because 10 minutes is much much time to work properly.
What makes it truly Developer SQL in start up to put so much time?
Best regards.
A bug has been noted, as stated in the post 15 of this discussion. That's the good news, because there was no prior bug in the system for that matter.
There is a performance problem, of course, since the additional startup due to connections time more seems to increase exponentially, rather than (at most) linearly as could be expected. In other words, on my system...
1. 23 connections takes no extra time measurable.
2. 575 connections takes 13 seconds.
3. 1150 connections takes 53 seconds.
4. you claim that 1600 connections on your system takes about 10 minutes.
The bug will be reviewed by the developer and probably a better algorithm can be used, or the treatment in question may be delayed or run lazily so it won't slow down the startup. I don't know when this will happen, however. If you need urgently, you can follow up with Oracle Support to get a bug associated client id, track progress and present evidence for why it should have priority.
Kind regards

To access the Oracle Postgres using DG4ODBC and very slow psqlodbc
I've set up DG4ODBC a base of Oracle 11 g Windows 2003 32-bit to access a Windows 2008 64 bit 9.1 database Postgres, you use the psqlodbc (32-bit) driver.
I can't do it because of the queries, but they are very slow. The reason is that the place where clause of the query is deleted somewhere along the line (I've seen actual queries run by Postgres using pgAdmin server status screen) and all the rows of the table are extracted from Postgres. Naturally with tables bigger than the few lines which means do a full table in Postgres scan, so that transfer a lot of bytes through the network.
"For example, if I mark from Oracle like this: select * of" dps_user"@pg where 'id' = '2423', run the sql in Postgres is: select * from dps_user, which retrieves all the rows of the table! When I get the result of the query in Oracle, I get only the row with id 2423, so I guess that Oracle Gets the entire table and that he not filtering at its end.
In a separate 32-bit Windows XP machine I have implemented the same psqlodbc driver, and ran the same query by using Microsoft Query. In this case, the query to run in Postgres contains a where clause and, therefore, it is much faster because a unique index scan is performed in Postgres, and that a line is transferred to Microsoft Query.
Could you help me, please?
Thank you very much
