  As Andrew says, select a composition in the project, not in the timeline panel, and then press Ctrl/Cmnd + D. You will get a new comp with a number or a copy appended to the name. This model is completely independent of the original, but it contains all the same images.

  If the model you duplicated contains other compositions nested in the timeline, then these nested compositions must also be duplicated and their duplicates used to replace the original compositions nested in the double model. The script is called, it's easy. Most of the projects created by new users have not a lot of nested compositions is not usually a big deal to do this step by hand.

  If you post a screenshot of the timeline for the model that you have duplicated or better yet the chart we can highlight exactly what needs to be duplicated in the project Panel to give you an independent composition double. Duplication of a composition that is nested in a chronology does not give you a single copy.

  One last thing. Any time you select layers in your timeline and dial before them, you create a new composition now nested in your original. It is a good practice to organize all prior comps in the project Panel in a folder with a name that lets you know where to go these comps before. This will make the job of duplicating main compositions much easier.

  I have a multicam clip enough complex that FCPX don't sync too well, so I did most of it manually. Now it's done, I know it would have been much better if it was two separate blocking clips.

  To save all the hassle of syncing it yet once, I would like to duplicate the Multicam Clip and remove then off a beginning and the end of the other, so the duplicate clips should be completely independent of each other.

  It doesn't seem to be a way to duplicate in the browser of Multicam items (probably because they have the same links and changing one will affect the other).

  Thank you. In fact, I managed to find a solution that does not require the user to press the button! You can add an action to a slide itself using Javascript execution on success. In the Script window, you add that scorm_setcompleted() and that tell of the SGA to mark the complete project on enter on this slide. So that's what to do if someone reads this

  Using the libraries and using another folder are essentially the same thing: the only difference being that libraries have additional sorting and grouping capabilities.

  That being said, to do what you want, create a new folder on the desktop:

  Minimize other windows and find an empty area of your desktop where no icons are.
  Right-click in the empty area and click New and then click folder. A new folder icon should appear and the file new text should be highlighted - enter the name you want to use now.

  Once the folder has been created, go ahead and double-click it to open the folder and then move it to the side for the next step.

  Locate your photos and then with both open files, drag and drop needed.

  Hello, I use the latest version of Lightroom CC on an imac and macbook. I have two external drives that I keep updated catalogues duplicate and image files on. (it is a fairly new practice for me) I know it's heavy, but I like the idea of being able to edit any picture at any time in lightroom or photoshop.

  The problem is one of my drives lack now all my folders in the lightroom catalog and I can't understand how to get back them.

  The reader, I created a folder for my lightroom catalog and parent a folder for all my images. I copied then each of them to drive B. Once I open lightroom on drive B using all my laptop, I had to do was click on the parent folder and choose find missing files and I was back in business. in recent weeks, I went back between readers and computers make copies and put up-to-date catalogs and the image files that I went without problems.

  Today, I accidentally opened lightroom with two drives connected and worked on the B drive when I thought that I was working on the reader a catalogue. I don't know exactly what I did but I lost all the files I had to drive A. I think I can try to find missing files and choose the right folder, but I'm not sure. The good news is I can still work on the B drive and it is fully functional, but I need to know how to recover my files on a drive.

  Can someone help me with this?

  I'll go out on a limb and suggest that you use correctly the two discs. A reader (A) must be the drive working, any changes made here. The other disk (B) must be your emergency backup where you frequently copy the new files to a. No work should never conducted on the B, the backup drive.

  The LR catalog follows by {drive + path + name} image files.

  The location of the catalog is completely independent of the location of the images.

  When you copy the catalog of drive A to B by car, the catalog B still points to the files on drive A.

  If you want to use the catalogue on B with images on B, you must go to the files Panel and "relocate" all top level folders to point to drive B.

  The same thing occurs when you copy the catalog of drive B into drive A.

  Here's my problem...

  I've been using templates since I began to manage my vmware infrastructure of companies on my site a few years ago.  Never had a problem, like the process of deployment, nice, easy and fast.  To our corporate site admin opposes the use of models, so it takes 2 to 3 times longer to deploy virtual machines.

  His argument for not using templates is:

  On windows, when you copy a file that is a copy and it will make an image of the file byte-by-byte system.  After the copy, they are two separate files.

  Under Linux, as in all unix systems, they use a system of linked file.  When you make a copy, it will create a link to the original.  It is not a byte for byte copy.  It's only a link of file change.  The operating system shows the total size of the file to the user, but it's just a calculated number.  If the original or the link like data are lost.  If the original is corrupted all copies are corrupt. This is very important because you can link a file to another system.  If you lose the original file system, you will lose the links and so the virtual machine.  Yet once again, VMWare doesn't do this, linux or more specifically Red Hat does.

  My question is, is this true?  If your model has been corrupted you lose all that?  Or is it a copy of the file where to deploy from a template?  I mean, I'm not a Unix/Linux guy, so I don't know.  I watch in Virtual Center and see a separate folder, separate the file and have never lost a VM because of the problem he describes.  So please, someone help clarify this for me.  Thank you.

  ESX is any Linux or Unix systΦme and creating a clone or a virtual machine from a template creates a physical, independent virtual machine copy and the data. So if the model or the original vm is corrupted, this will not affect the new VM (linked clones are an exception, but this is not the point here).

  In addition, what you colleague is referring to the ist a so-called hardlink. An additional name for a file is a hard link. You can have multiple names for a single physical file and the physical file exist, both OF this hard links. It is created with the ln command and is AFAIK not possible in Windows. However, copy files using the cp command, creates a complete physical duplicate of the data.
