Completely removed in Desktop calendar entries

Entered calendar Zire 22 of my mother disappeared completely in the office. They remain in the device, but we don't want synchronization to not lose the device. Memos and addresses are intact on both.  In the calendar of the user of the palm folder, it has a datebook.bak file but there is no datebook.dat file.  How can get us this?  Thank you for your help

in your palm desktop go to the calendar and then click on file, then import... to import box, make sure that the look is DATEBOOK and then type *. * in the file name, and then press enter look of datebook.bak, and then click Import. Check if you have the same entries in calendar with the Organizer. Near palm desktop and then open it again check if you still have calendar entries.

  • Palm Desktop 4.2 - text color coded calendar entries are hidden for some colors

    Environment:

    Treo 680

Palm Desktop 4.2 running on Windows XP Pro

Color calendar entries were works very well since I have my phone for over a year.  When I added a new category of color (for my total of 7 categories) I noticed that some of my calendar entries showed the bar color-coded for the appointment, but the text for the entry was hidden.  Nor was I able to change the entry to the Palm Desktop Help, given that any attempt to select the entrance to the tent to create a new entry.

Thinking that I had exceeded a limit for the number of categories of colors that I deleted the new category (so the entries were now unclassified).  Now, all but one of my color categories are affected (bar colors for the appointment, but no visible text), including those marked with 'undefined' category

The only color that now shows the text for calendar entries is my category by default (not long).  This affects all my existing and brand new calendar entries, I create, regardless of if I create them on the Treo or Palm Desktop use.

If I press to scroll my appointments on the page, it selects only those for my default color category where the text of the entry is visible (i.e. He ignores all other appointments).

Calendar entries are visible on my Treo, fortunately.

I have not installed any new applications or updates.

I have not been able to find anyone else reporting this issue.

My next step will be to restore my backup from last week, but I was hoping to avoid that if possible, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

No worries. It will be under the main screen where you click Calendar. Not under a menu option. If you set it to all to view all of your appointments, no matter what category it is in.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones sync wants to delete the old calendar entries

My apologies if this has been taken up, but I have not been able to find.   I have a BB Curve and the Blackberry Desktop Software.  Since the update to 7.1.0 Bundle 2879 on the phone, that I can't sync with Outlook without deleting all the passes of the calendar entries. (My BB Desktop Software is 7.1.0.41 Bundle 42.)  I have the camera set to keep keep always the appointments.  I ran a synchronization with the one-way set to sync software from the computer to the device that does not ask to remove all entries from the old, but when I switch back to the two-way synchronization he still wants to delete all the passes the calendar on the device entries.

You have options in the tab of the organizer for the calendar by clicking Configure. From there, there, you can choose to synchronize all calendar entries. This should be a resolution. In addition, there are options to control more which allows to synchronize by clicking the Advanced button.

If you want to control the amount of calendar data consider rest on your cell phone...

I had problems with handling the appts Blackberry in the past where - when an appt is deemed be removed from the mobile device - it removed also Outlook! This should NEVER be--but WAS. It is thus a better 'political' to have your BB synchronize all appts and control how much will remain on your phone by using the Outlook archiving functionality. When calendar items move to your archive, then you can see appts should be deleted from your phone, but they will just be appts 'old' according to what you install.

And no matter - before make you a new synchronization or changes which may react unexpectedly...

Make a backup of your Outlook file just in case!

    I hope this helps.

  • Export from Palm Desktop calendar to .dba archive

I have data for agenda 2003 to date on my Palm Desktop v6.2.  I would like to archive everything before 01/01/14 by exporting the data in an archive *.dba and then delete the data from Palm Desktop.  The export dialog says that I can choose to archive the items I selected, but does not say how to choose.  I want to select a range of dates - more precisely, 1/1/03-12/31/13.  Someone knows how to do this?

The Export of Palm Desktop feature, you cannot selectively archive a specific range of dates of the calendar events.  There is a function of the Purge, but he will serve only to items older than a month, not a selectable date.

One thing you could do, which requires a pocket computer, is to use an application of Pocket called Agenda 6 jointly with a freeware SD card backup utility called NVBackup for more security.  NVBackup lets you back up the entire database because there is at all times on the handheld and allows you to make backup sets so much data that your SD card will hold (max size 1 GB, regular SD card).  And agenda 6 allows you to delete data from calendar before the date.  Then...

    • Export your entire calendar on your desktop.  It would not be limited at all before 01/01/14, but it would preserve everything.
    • Buy and install DateBook 6 of www.pimlicosoftware.com (it is not freeware).
    • Download and install NVBackup.  Run NVBackup on the handheld to create a full backup on a SD card.
    • Then use Schedule 6 to remove the calendar data before 01/01/14.
    • Change the calendar (or calendar) led in Palm Desktop to handheld overrides Desktop.
    • HotSync the handheld to the desktop calendar data.  Palm Desktop calendar data should show then only events for 01/01/14 forwards, but historical data would have been preserved in the file exported as well as on the SD card and you can restore it at any time.

    I hope this helps.

  • The calendar entries blackBerry Smartphones duplicate on handheld

I have a new Curve 8310.  After making a few synchs after making additions/changes to my Outlook calendar, all my calendar entries duplicated on your handheld.  One of the duplicates can be deleted, but then he removes the entry of my calendar Outlook the next time that I run a synchronization.  The other duplicate entry says that it cannot be deleted because it was "externally deleted."  How can I solve this?

Easy fix would be to clean your pocket computer then re-sync again. Backup of your handheld before wiping the device just to be safe. To wipe the handheld go to Options > Security Options > General settings. Press the menu button and select wipe Handheld.

  • For the blackBerry Smartphones duplicate calendar entries

My Bold 9780 is configured with an IMAP and a hosted exchange account. The hosted exchange account is my business account for which I would like to sync my calendar via the desktop software. Problem is that, for most (but not all!) meetings synchronized my work I find myself with two parallel Outlook calendar entries. One for IMAP and the other for the hosted exchange account. Meetings tend to have different attributes; for example, we have a reminder, the other does not. It indicates the frequency of repetition of the sessions, the other does not.

Any help on how to get BB to sync properly (an entry to my work account) is greatly appreciated.

The calendar that is used for sync is set in default services. The OS 5 (on the BB), it's under Options, advanced, default Services.

  • Desktop calendar suddenly disappeared!

This morning I opened my Palm Desktop and all the date on my calendar entries had disappeared. My address book is fine. The dates on the calendar on my Palm Centro are fine, but I don't want to HotSync it in fear of losing the date on my phone entries.

What should I do to get the dates back to my desktop without losing the data on my phone?

    Thank you!

One option is to change the lines for handheld overrides desktop and then sync.

Another option is to try to recover the data on the PC, if you have only 1 time Sync. Here are the instructions to recover the data.

You can recover data from your user folder as long as you only Sync once with the PC when you discovered the missing data. When synchronize you with the PC there are files created for each category of PIM in your user folder. For example; datebook.dat or appointment (according to the version of Palm Desktop) and datebook.bak. On Vista, the file names are .mdb and mdb.bak.

The files are named .dat and .bak. When you synchronize, the current data is stored in. dat. The next time that you synchronize the data in the .dat file is copied to the .bak file. You can rename the .dat to .old. then rename the .bak to dat. If the data in the .bak file is intact, it will now be in palm desktop when you reopen Palm desktop. I have included a link to show you how to find the userfolder on the PC.

    http://www.Palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?id=26674

    Here's another link about the loss of data;

    http://www.Palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?id=39503

The best way to backup your data is to use the export function in Palm Desktop. Create a new folder on the desktop named Palm Desktop Backup data. Then, select the category that you want to export. You will get a window asking you where you want to save the file, save it in the folder created on the desktop. There is a button that allows you to select the record currently selected, or all, select all. If you do not select all, only the highlighted record is exported. You will need to name the file for export then I suggest the name of the category, for example: calendar (with the current date). Do this for all the essential data in each category. With the data exported to the folder on the desktop of the computer, you can save this data to a flash drive, external hard drive or a CD - RW. With this method, you will have your data in a separate place than Palm desktop and the device. If 'Lose you' data again, you can import the data back into palm desktop.

Make sure that when you make changes in palm desktop or the device to export data to the folder created for the backup.

  • To access the purged and archived in the calendar entries

I use Palm Calendar since 2003 (Palm Vx, Palm m500, Treo 680), but have never purged.

Now that I have + 32,000 entries, synchronization takes too long and the phone takes more than a minute to answer if I select a calendar entry.

So I think I'll need to purge. My questions are:

    1. How can access entries purged and archived? What is the DateBook.dba file?

2 - is each successive archived purge add entries for the same file or do that the overwriting the previous file with only the most recent purged of elements?

I'm sorry if the answers to these questions have already been posted, but I could not find in any thread.

    Thank you

Tom says: You can open it from PalmDesktop. It will be saved in the form of archive. You can open the file to archive.

    Max Brenner says: file/open archive / DateBook.dba?

Tom says: Yes. You are right.

Max Brenner says: So, what happens with this file the next time I have serve again after a few months?

Tom says: It will be saved in the file dba.

Max Brenner said: , but the files previously archived will be there also? Or they will be crushed?

Tom says: He will be replaced this information.

Max Brenner says: So I will want to save first. Is it possible to merge the contents of 2 dba files?

Tom says: Yes, you can do it in 2 files of dba. Then export all the information in a file of dba.

Max Brenner says: Last question. Is there a limit of Palm Desktop can handle the number of entries on my Treo 680?

Tom says: Until the memory is full, there is no limit.

Max Brenner says: Ok. Thank you so much, Tom!

    Tom says: You are welcome!

  • Except repeating on Palm TX and excessive writing did not restore lost all calendar entries

I turned on my Palm TX today entered a new entry on the calendar... the Palm back on without apparent reason.

I went back to the calendar function and tried. This time, when one has chosen a NEW date and listed at once,

When I got home on the date he had NO entries in the calendar on my Palm TX except repeat entries.

I tried a soft reset... still no calendar entry at all, not any day, any time. I have a backup on my computer, and

you use hotsync only calendar to replace the value of the computer for Palm TX, I did a hot sync. Everything is always present on my

computer, but nothing has replaced on my Palm TX. Any quick suggestions? Seems to me that something is damaged

in the calendar function, but I don't know what to do.

    OK, thanks for the update.

Corruption problems may get involved instead. I thought that by fixing corruption, with DBFixit, TX and sync'ing and then with Pocket changes desktop should have corrected the problem. This procedure is usually solves the problem with corruption and sync'ing not categories PIM.

I would like to create a repetitive calendar entry that will automatically print the calendar of the day to the default printer.

This used to be very easy in the older versions of Mac OS X, but I can't seem to do with alerts current iCal.

I tried to create an Automator app or a calendar workflow.

But I can't make them work.

Maybe you could create an entry like the one below, where 'print the calendar' is the name of a script (saved as an application) which will print the calendar of the day.
