Computer crashed... corrupt site... don't want Firefox to reopen it

My wife went to a site that has threatened to damage the hard drive... She immediately went off hard... off the power... and subsequently restarted... wanted Open firefox again... and it took him back to the wrong page... If linking to make sure that when we start new firefox starts to clean and does NOT restore...

I'll clarify that a bit more in detail. As a Windows user, I apologize in advance if I is not applicable to the Mac!

Open your Firefox profile folder

It is in the library of your Mac user account folder:

  • (OS X 10.6) Click the Finder icon in the dock. Your home folder is selected, (usually the name of your Mac user account). In the right part of the window, click the library folder to open it.
  • (OS X 10.7 or higher) Click the Finder icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the menu go to, hold down option or alt key and select library. A window opens that contains your library folder.

Open the "Application Support" folder, and then open the folder "Firefox", then the folder "Profiles".

Your profile folder is in this folder. If you have only one profile, his record would be 'default' in the name. If you have several folders here, find the one with the updated content.

Hide your Firefox session history files

Looking for a file named sessionstore.js created during a normal shutdown. If you find this file, rename it to sessionstore.old.

Looking for a file named sessionstore.bak by flying over ancient times. If you see one, go ahead and delete it.

Then, find the sessionstore-backups folder. Rename the sessionstore-backups-old folder so that Firefox can't find it at startup, but you still have the files later if necessary.

The next time you start Firefox, it should go to the home page without attempt to restore the previous session. Success?

After I had typed a few characters, a floating box appeared just below the form field, containing one of my e-addresses (similar to but not the one I was before). • My computer crashed and I had to reinstall firefox.but I had already bought the full version of helper download, that I still have to buy it?

I did have to pay for firefox because firefox is free. But I buy the full version of downloadhelper path long before my computer crashed. Download helper has a record of my IP address and my name and email, and I remember seeing a key for my purchase when I used to look in the window options. Then they will make me pay for a legitimate downloadhelper version if they have officially that I already bought? That's what I want to know, because I don't have to buy it again.

Re-installing Firefox does not necessarily mean that you will have to re - install Download Helper.

Best is to ask the support of Download Helper on their program.

  • I can't change my computer sleep. I don't want to have to enter a password every time he sleeps. Changes in user accounts, but they do not work, or I would like to save these changes.

My computer is asleep after a few minutes. Then I have to enter a password to reactivate.  I want to be able to change the settings for a time of sleep of my choice. I don't want to have to enter a password to wake the computer either. I went to user accounts and tried to change the settings, but they do not save the changes.

You shouldn't need administrator rights to change the settings in most situations.

  • I don't want Firefox to the files I saved in Web sites "remember" front How can I return Firefox to its old image saving habits?

I recently got a new computer and upgraded to Firefox 8. Now, when I save an image from a website, Firefox will 'remember' and, next time I save an image, open a case at random that I saved an image in the last time I was on this site, then choose Save there. This would not be a problem if, 1) was not a folder randomly on the many I save in and (2) if I have to cancel on a picture for some reason, the next time I will save (seconds later, without leave/refresh a page), it chooses one at random to save me in and I put my files.

I would like to get Firefox back to the previous image, saving habits, where I have to choose the folder every time, and he won't 'remember' everything that I did, as it is originally only headaches.

The current versions of Firefox don't forget not the directory download, based on the URL, so if the URL changes then the default folder can be selected if he has not selected a folder for this server before download.

I am a student at Highline Community College here in Washington. The online tool that I have if interface with school classes is called Angel. Emails on Angel does not work with Firefox 7. The it Department is currently working on a fix, but until they get that do I need to know how to disable the automatic update, which wants to install version 7. I'm going to upgrade to the latest version when the fix is complete.

Click the Firefox button > Options > Options > advanced > update (Tools > Options > advanced > update if you are using the Menu bar):

    • Uncheck "Firefox" at the top of the Panel
    • You can also check "Ask Me what I want to do."
    • out of Firefox (Firefox button > exit OR file > exit if you are using the Menu bar), wait a few seconds (10-30), and then restart Firefox. Verify that the options are as you set them.
    • See-> Options window-Advanced Panel

You can change these options later.

You can still receive the update of the view screen, but automatic updates/downloads should stop.

I save a lot of files in many different places. I am looking for a solution that quickly allows me to choose the right folder. Something like Q - Dir, with tabs and others. 'Favorites' in Windows Explorer doesn't do it for me. Is it possible to change the behavior of the FFs?

  • Firefox remembers tabs when I close. I don't want this, how to fix?

As indicated in the title, I don't want Firefox to remember my tabs in my last session when I close.

I have never tried to "remember history", but that disconnects me all that I was logged in.

I just want to open Firefox and have it just be the site of the House and don't remember my tabs from last session. And always be logged on sites that I frequent.

    Version 33.0. Windows 8.1.

I finally understand it myself and I will try my best to explain since neither of you answered my question.

I ended up using the parameter "Use the custom settings for history" and checking the navigation to remove and download history and leaving everything else off so I don't get disconnected from everything.

Again, I have thought to it so no need to try to answer more.

  • I want to disable the smart folders... I don't need and really don't want one of them

    Firefox 13.0.1
I don't want to follow my latest bookmarks or tags. I consider him as an intrusion and the process must end and all stored values faded. I should be able to navigate normally and do not have the browser what I bookmark or tag tracking. I consider these elements followed, and is usually done under the name of "help the ignorant." Stop it. I do not socialize online, nor do I need a browser 'fool proof' followed by what I have favorite (I don't tag)... have a few bookmarks. I studied everything I could find online and about: config can be set to false, which simply creates another of the little monsters. Stop it! You improve this thing until I won't be able to use it and to find a browser that isn't to track 'for me. If it is 'fool proof', only fools will use.

IE also stores the data in the registry on the visited areas.

Firefox stores only the data in the database places.sqlite file.

The last visit date and County of bookmarks and history items visit part of these data.

If you don't want Firefox to store data, then you can switch to the mode of browsing private, as displayed above.

Smart folders show a list of sites that is generated from the file places.sqlite via a specific query database, so that data is already stored and the record makes it visible.

You can remove the query smart folder if you do not want to see such a query result, but the removal of the individual elements of bookmark or history in such a list removes the database locations.
