I don't want Firefox 7 is installed. How can I disable the update?

I am a student at Highline Community College here in Washington. The online tool that I have if interface with school classes is called Angel. Emails on Angel does not work with Firefox 7. The it Department is currently working on a fix, but until they get that do I need to know how to disable the automatic update, which wants to install version 7. I'm going to upgrade to the latest version when the fix is complete.

Click the Firefox button > Options > Options > advanced > update (Tools > Options > advanced > update if you are using the Menu bar):

  • Uncheck "Firefox" at the top of the Panel
  • You can also check "Ask Me what I want to do."
  • out of Firefox (Firefox button > exit OR file > exit if you are using the Menu bar), wait a few seconds (10-30), and then restart Firefox. Verify that the options are as you set them.
  • See-> Options window-Advanced Panel

You can change these options later.

You can still receive the update of the view screen, but automatic updates/downloads should stop.

Now, I understand - the answer is no.

THE NORMAL USER CAN NOT ENABLE THIS FEATURE. Can't wait to see a great browser fall into the mindset that if you want to change the update you basically have to go in the program code and modify the program Microsoft. Most of the people will not do that.

  • How can I disable the updates of Firefox?

I've updated Firefox a month ago and since then, it continually keeps asking me to update again. Is it possible that turns off? I'm sorry that I've updated the last time, because it seems to crash a lot more than before.

You can change your settings to automatic under Update

Orange button or Firefox menu Tools > Options > advanced

However, I think that rather than worry about Firefox 7, it would be wiser to modernize and then work with the volunteers here to solve the crash problem. Otherwise, you have both a non-secure browser AND crashing, which is not an ideal situation.

This may be considered to be solve my problem.
I decided to uninstall the rogue program Firefox download and reinstall the same version (No. 8). I used Windows XP Add Remove programs who asked if I wanted to save the settings of Firefox until I uninstalled Firefox. I said yes and operated with the uninstall. I couldn't find a Firefox 8 so I went for the 12 version and installed on the laptop. This version 12 now works with all the passwords one favorite of the uninstalled 8.

  • How can I DISABLE the module "signature" when I want TO use an older add-on?

I the MAGNIFICENT Add on 1 - ClickWeather and now has a message on the 'signature' module Now... I DON'T want to use a product of INFERIOR quality such as suggested in the name of the add - on.

I would use the add-on that I already have on my Firefox, 1-ClickWeather. So, how can I disable the 'signature' on an individual add-on module? It is said to "Act with caution", but it does not show Me the details of my time. I reinstalled the add-on, but it does not yet record my position.

Yes, I KNOW it is no longer supported, but has always worked until this past Saturday. It was abandoned several years ago but was kept alive by a single poster whose comments have disappeared. I have the add-on on my computer. I continued to update the continuous Firefox updates. Now, I want to again but there's this ridiculous thing on the module "signature" and «proceed with caution...» »

You cannot delete the warning, but in 42 Firefox extension should always work.

How can I disable the newtab most used feature display sites. I want the new tab to open the page displayed in the newtab:url in the topic: function config

41 of Firefox is no longer uses the browser.newtab.url setting in about: config because he was constantly attacked by malware. From 41 of Firefox, you need an add-on to change the new tab page.

Here are a few options (I'm learning more all the time):

    • If you are already using the extension classic restaurateur theme: There is an option somewhere (!) in his dialogues of the parameters to select another page in the new tab.

    Setting up substitute again tab

After installing this extension, you must use the Options page to set the new desired tab page (instead of use subject: config).

Open the page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a (Mac: Cmd + shift + a)
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then on the side right, find the new tab override and click the Options button. (See first screenshot attached).

Depending on the size of your screen, you may need to scroll down to enter the address in the form. (See second screenshot attached). For example:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Then tab or click this form field and you can test using Ctrl + t.

    Success?

Once you have set it as you wish, you can close the Add-ons page (or use the back button to return to the list of Extensions of this Options page).

How can I disable the Adobe applications that were installed on a computer that is no longer available? I have a creative cloud subscription, and I want to disable a device that is no longer available. I would have thought that there will be an option to disable all devices somewhere in my account, but I can't.

This isn't what Mary said.  You get 2 facilities by title.  You should have disabled software on your old machine first, but since you have now 2 methods to disable older facilities.

My first recommendation was to contact support with your product purchase information and disable them.

Mary offered another option which is to go ahead and install the software on your new hard drive.   If an error saying: you have exceeded the limit of 2 machine, press the button continue to disable older facilities.  You will then be able to install on you're your new hard drive plus one more.

    Make sense?

  • How can I disable the suggestion to "Improve Firefox" which appeared after the update of FF8? No any choice allows to avoid the appearance of popup the next time.

I use FF8 with Selenium RC test infrastructure. When I installed the last update of FF contextual dialog YesNo "You want to contribute to improve..." ' began to appear before each test is run. Thus, the test stopped running on this popup and my problem is that I can not disable this popup for next time. I want to say I select Yes or no, popup disappears, but still appears in the next round of tests. How can I disable this popup at all?

Hi guys! Thanks to all of you for the cooperation and ready to help. I have summarized all your advice, so the following 3 steps unravel the problem for FF8 and do my tests to run fine:

    1. Create and configure a new FF profile, using these instructions and suggestions . Don't put your FF to the default profile at the end.
    2. Then follow the first 6 steps by SafeBrowser (see above) to the new profile. Switch to the default profile (in firefox - p).
    3. Don't forget to use your new profile when you run the selenium Server (-firefoxProfileTemplate command line parameter) or the value of selenium to use this profile when starting a browser to Salenece.
