Computer needs a new recovery disk, but none is available.

Our computer (desktop Compaq Presario SR2010NX PC) was recently taken to Best Buy to get fixed because the computer does not illuminate. They told us that he had to use the recovery for Windows Xp home edition disk to repair the computer. We have not and we cannot find them online. However, I have a new copy of Windows 7 and a recovery for Windows XP to another computer disc. I was wondering if I'm unable to find a recovery for this specific pc disk could I just use the Windows 7 disc or a disc of recovery for another computer.

According to specifications, your computer will only support Windows 7 32-bit and most likely will not support Windows 7 64-bit at all. To fully support Windows 7 32-bit will require some hardware upgrades. Using another computer recovery discs is also in contrast to work. Recovery discs again to check the motherboard of the computer and hard drive to match the information before proceeding with the recovery of the computer.

You can buy recovery discs for your computer from ComputerSurgeons.com for about $27

  • HP Touchsmart 23-d055: do I need a new recovery disk after upgrade to Windows 10?

    I upgraded my 2 years, HP Touchsmart in Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 for Windows 10. It took me 6 hours to run all of these updates.

    Now, HP Support Assistant keeps reminding me to create an image of system recovery. But when I run the recovery media creation utility, it warns me that he goes back to the original operating system (Win8). Is it possible to create a recovery image system for my machine on Windows 10?

    I know that Windows 10 now has an automatic recovery partition. But I am concerned by the failure of the disk, which would make this unnecessary partition. Last year, when I've upgraded to win 8.1, I had an alteration of the disc that has occurred without known reason. I lost everything on the PC and to restore Win 8, and I've never touched the PC up to 10 Windows free update is out.

    I created a USB Win8 recovery disk when I got the machine. This is my only alternative? I suppose that if I ran the recovery media creation utility, it would recreate just the same.

    BTW, I know that HP has here a document, but it does on computers provided with Windows installed 10.

    Thank you for your help and experience.

    Since no one has replied with an answer to my question, I've finally worked it on my own. I learned that you cannot make a new recovery disk system after the upgrade to Windows 10, if you had already created one when you got your machine under Windows 8.x

    Context: after upgrade to Windows 10, the HP Support Assistant kept prompting me to create a system recovery disk.  I did one when I got the machine 2 years with Win8.  I didn't replace my original recovery disk, so I went out and got a new 16GB USB flash drive. When I inserted this new drive and attempted to create a recovery disk, the PC told me I couldn't do one, because you are allowed to make a recovery disc by PC.

    So it was kind of stupid that after completing the upgrade of Windows 10, HP Support Assistant tells people to do. It should just check itself and see if a disc has already been done. All this anguish for nothing!

    When turning on pc and when the acer logo appears it asks to enter the current password, I bought the recovery disk but do not get a chach to enter the bios

    This looks like a utility Acer protect disk hard & possibly also the BIOS.  You will need to consult your manual for Acer.  You have configured a password of HDD that you are now trying to recover, by chance?  This recovery is not possible if the hard drive has been password protected.

    If it was a Windows login screen then it would show your user/admin name and password entry area & would be clearly identified as a Windows form of the version of Windows being displayed at the bottom of the screen.

  • How can need to order recovery disks, I know if I need to 32 or 64 bits without BONES?

    I'm trying to fix someones laptop.  It's a g60 and they have no recovery disks.  The hard drive broke down so I can't use windows to find out if I need a 32-bit or 64-bit version.  HP Web site cannot determine this by model number, series or whatever it is and wonder which version I need when I try to order recovery disks.  He told me I should use windows to understand this.  (Why do I need to order recovery disks, if windows still worked?)  Anyway. • I need a new boot disk

    What I want is a boot disk, I need to reinstall windows, I have the key to product on the side of my computer. I tried to call for help, but I am sent to dell (I don't know why because the computer was delivered to Cyber Power and I do not have the recovery disc that came with her computer because my friend lost). It's my friends computer, but it is in the marines about to be sent to Afghanistan, and he hang on to it for my own personal use until he gets back. It has been formatted, and I thought the disc was in the box, but there is no disc. I just need a new disk of vista, and I don't want to call microsoft for a second question 2 and pay an arm and a leg of a sudden phone. I have genuine Windows Vista Home Premium and you want to reinstall. So simple, and yet so much to ask for from microsoft.

    How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    But, as your friend received a disc, you will not have a recovery Partition
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Re: Need creative software recovery disk for Satellite P300

    Need recovery disk creator software *

    Hello I have a Toshiba Satellite P300 and I had installed XP as an operating system, but I want to go to the rear for to use Vista. Now I need the Creator program recovery disc but I can't find anywhere on the site. Help, please

    * Information. *

    Any new laptop?
    YES.

    Always use original pre-installed Vista?
    N °

    Made some changes to the operating system as the deletion of partitions or install own OS?
    YES.

    The "HDDRecovery" folder available on the second partition?
    YES.

    Hello

    In your case there is nothing you can do. The recovery DVDs can be created only if the laptop is factory settings. Unfortunately, you have removed original preinstalled Vista and now there is no way, you can create recovery media.

    Sorry, but there is only one thing to do now to order a new copy. You can do so under the https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx.

    I really wonder that you ignored the reminder to create recovery DVDs.

  • I reformatted my T520 with the recovery disk, but Windows cannot start

    I reformatted my T520 with my recovery disk. When the computer restarts, it says that Windows cannot start properly. Help, please.

    I finally solved the problem; Here is my solution:

    I have determined that the backup image has been bad, and this is perhaps why the recovery disks have been as bad. I tried to use both to reformat the C:\drive several times without success. Fortunately, I had a Windows 7 disc from another computer that I no longer use. However, the T520 would not be updated to Windows 7 using this disk, so I run Diskpart to reformat all (this removes everything, including the image.) Then, I was able to reinstall Windows 7.

    With this new facility, would not any responsible drivers, including LAN and wireless drivers. I went on the Lenovo Web site: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?selector=expand to download the driver for "Intel Wireless LAN (11abgn, abg, bg). This provided wireless access to the computer. (Downloaded the driver on another computer, saved on a USB stick to transfer to the T520.) Restarted the computer in case where. Then, I went to http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=TVSU-UPDATE to download ThinkVantage System Update 5.0. After you have installed this software and reboot, all the necessary drivers would be so loaded.

    Unfortunately, if you don't have any Windows disk, you will need to pay 50 dollars to get one from Lenovo. Lesson learned? Next time I buy a new computer, the first thing I would do is to reformat and reload the computer by using the image while still under warranty. I did several times with my other Lenovo laptops without fail. I have to do this once every 3 years each time my computer seems to slow down. This is the first time, it didn't work.

    I hope this help anyone who is in the same situation.

  • New recovery disks the size of hard drive

    Hello world

    I created a set of recovery disks for my laptop HP Pavilion G7. He was 6-disc. The original hard drive recovery disks made of was a 750 GB hard drive.

    The drive began to die on this laptop. I have another laptop I do not use and which has a new 500GB inside. I went on the hard disks they are compatible.

    My question is can I use the recovery discs I had made of the 750 GB drive that is now dying and to get new hard disk that is 500 GB. I started the process, but stalled on to Midway through the disc 4. Is it because I put in a smaller HDD?

    At this point I have to buy a hard drive that is at least 750 GB?

    Please advise and thanks in advance!

    Hello

    Recovery media may have problems if used on the lower to the original discs.

    Another option that you might consider, like your laptop originally shipped with Windows 8 and the activation key is stored in the Bios Chip, would be to create your own OEM of Windows 8 installation disc.

    For more details on how to do this, see the post Hüffer 3rd on the following link - Note: download is subject to a ceiling, you may need to try over a period of several hours before it starts successfully

    Kind regards
