BCC 116 and 117 are called video time out and recover and are associated with the video subsystem. Most often related to a driver, but they can also be linked to the heat, overclocking and occasionally in powered power supplies.
The user will often see "no has your video stopped and recovered", but ultimately it will not be able to recover.
Details
"Is not a real crash, in the sense that the blue screen was launched only because the combination of material and video driver video was insensitive . "
The first step would be to install the most recent driver, (completely remove the current driver and installing the latest driver available),. and continues to malfunction, return to a much older pilot that some new drivers are somewhat bugs. If playing with video driver versions did not help, make sure that the box is not overheated.
In the recent "Timeout detection and recovery' operating systems (TDR) of the video subsystem OS components were capable of making really impressive things to try to find issues that resulted in BONES as soon as XP crashing.
As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends a video driver command "Please restart you now!" and wait a few seconds.
If there is no answer, the BONE concludes that the combo of driver/hardware video has really collapsed in a heap, and it fires at this stop 0 x 116 BSOD.
If you have a desktop computer, try removing a side panel and a sector large fan directly to the motherboard and GPU.
Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to check whether the cooler temperatures make a difference.
If so, it could be as simple as dust accumulation and inadequate cooling afterwards.
I download cpu-z and gpu-z (both free) and keep an eye on the video time
If this is not a driver and not heat it's time to start checking the hardware by running a GPU stress test
Try this free video stress test: http://www.ozone3d.NET/benchmarks/fur/
FurMark Setup:
-If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during installation
-In the run, select "Test of stability" and "Journal of the GPU temperature.
-Click on 'Go' to start the test
-Run the test until the temperature of the GPU maxes - or until you start to have problems (whichever comes first)
-Click on "Exit" to exit

It happens with applications like weather and news. I've seen where some have said it's Avast (in 2012) but I got this version of Avast since November and the program was very well so far. It must be something else. How can I solve this problem? It is a direct installation on a brand new system, not an upgrade.

Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall Avast?

Computer has been slow to start, Blue Screen of Death appears and then it restarts.
Original title: Restart the computer
Hello
My old Compaq desktop computer has been slow to start in the morning and recently when I went to turn it on, it got stuck on the boot sequence, and it restarts just after the initial start-up. He never Windows logo or the login screen. I tried to use recovery disks of Lenovo's laptop of my husband as an attempt to get something to work on, but nothing helps, my computer continues to restart loop way. My daughter has tried to do something with the BIOS setting, which did not affect the issue. Rather than restart suddenly, the blue screen of death appears and then it restarts.
Any help?
Hello
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD (sale at retail or OEM integrators), which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

- I allowed to install Shockwave Flash in my computer this morning, and then malfunction of the application. However, I reset my computer and connected only on yahoo.com but I couldn't sign in to other sites like google, wellsfargo and. I tried to disable this add-on 'Shockwave Flash' managing by module. Help, please. Thank you.
- Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!
Ideas:
- You have problems with programs
- Error messages
- Recent changes to your computer
- What you have already tried to solve the problem
Shockwave Flash should not do that. However, if you want to delete it go to programs and features in Control Panel. Click once on Adobe Shockwave Player and click on uninstall in the menu at the top. I suggest you do a comprehensive analysis here, a free service offered by Microsoft. http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/Center/whatsnew.htm

I left by mistake a USB in the port when I restarted my computer (Windows 7).
Since then, when I start the computer, it goes through a few stages starting and then ends with a black screen with a cursor flashing at the top.
If I press ESC during startup and access the start menu, something marked WED... is highlighted and I press on enter and it starts normally.
How can I get Windows 7 to do a normal boot without having to access the Boot Menu each time?
Thank you.
Tried that, but it did not work. Finally got and IT guy come and it took him 3 1/2 hours to repair.
Need a bootable floppy which has then repairs itself.
Lesson learned. Have an available for each computer startup disk.

How to ensure that my computer has microphones and then use them for talking to Cortana?
Hi Walter,
Please start by http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/cortana-privacy-faq
Also, try to review this tutorial: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4026-cortana-turn-off-windows-10-a.html
They should help you get started. Problems specific to the micro (existence, activation, volume,...) will be addressed (more than the troubleshooting steps if Cortana doesn't) that you go through the above; However, a "one-stop-shop" for microphones & recognition recording & speech covering all peripheral aspects are versatile control panel page (see the path in the blue header at the top of the screenshot pictured below for W10Pro 11102).

Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed correctly, and then on reboot I get a blue error screen or green.
The only way that I could finally restart, was safe and then I restored to before I installed SP2.
WinXP SP2 must have been installed more than four years ago.
If you haven't installed SP2, you could not possibly have a functional application of the antivirus installed so see...

I am running windows xp on a computer dell laptop and just bought an acer H213H-screen that does not work.
I downloaded the driver appropriate on the acer site and installed. Also, I tried to reduce my resolution. None of them have worked. I get a message on the acer monitor that says "Input not supported"
You check the display settings and make sure that you do not have your resolution to high for this monitor. Its got to many many times.
