  • HP OfficeJet 6700 - issues of networking after computers changed from cable wireless...

We have changed our whole yesterday and left two computers (a Mac and a Windows 7 PC) be wireless to connect to the router.  The installation of the printer has not changed (it is set up wireless for everything).  The Mac has had no problem finding the printer and print as usual.  The PC was not able to print from.  It shows the printer as a faded option.  Print jobs that were sent in the print queue, but does not print.  I downloaded and used the doctor printing & scanning HP, including the wizard on the printer wireless, but have failed to get the connection works.  I appreciate any help you can offer.  Also, I apologize if I'm wrong at all since this is my first post and first visit to this forum.  Thank you!

So if the Mac can see and print to the printer, which indicates that it is connected to your router OK.

So, on the PC, go to start > Control Panel > devices and printers and delete the printer.

Then, add the printer with this method:

    1. make sure the printer is on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by accessing its IP address before continuing. Get his IP address for a network Test printed on the front of the printer.

    2. click on > start > Control Panel > devices & Printers.
    3. click on add a printer
    4. Select local printer
    5. Select create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click Next.
    6. under device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under the name of host or IP address, enter the IP address of the printer. Click Next.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard in the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model is not in the list, then select disk provided, browse the CD that came with your HP printer and select the first file begins with hp and ending with INF. click Open, then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If prompted, use the driver that is currently installed.
    9. He will ask the name of the printer - enter a new name or use the one existing. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. we may ask you to share the printer. Choose No.
    11. the printing area of Test Page is displayed. Go ahead and print it out.
    12. click on finish.

  • Buy Lightroom if computers changing

I want to buy Lightroom as a one-time purchase. I'm not a fan of paying monthly perpetually for the software, so I would just pay once for the product. My only concern is, what are my options if I intend to change computers (from Windows to Mac) more later next year? I don't want my license to not be compatible, forcing me to buy again. So my question is, what are my options for one-time purchases that will be carried over my license to a new computer if I change it?

    Thank you!

    Hi AMTrombley0924,

You can exchange the license to a different operating system.

Please take a look at the following article and you will get all the necessary information: a product for another language or version of trading platform

  • Change of host graphics card

    Hello

I searched the manual and you can find no specific discussion of management of material changes in host machines. It seems that may not be a problem to talk a lot about the move invited around computers, change the layout of the monitor, etc, but I would be sure.

I'm about to change my graphics card in my Windows 7 64 bit host. The instructions for the card say to uninstall the existing card drivers [rc computer > manage > Device Manager >...]. What I also uninstall the card to my Windows 2000 Pro SP4 Virtual Machine?

What I also uninstall the card to my Windows 2000 Pro SP4 Virtual Machine?

No!  Virtual machines do not see the physical GPU and use a graphic card of VMware and in the case of Windows NT, it is the VMware SVGA II when VMware Tools are installed.

  • Diffence between firefox functionality on xp and windows 7

I just want to know the difference between the feature and the dependence on the two bones.

    and

y at - it any thing change setting of Firefox on windows xp or 7 l.

I use Windows XP and it works in the same way as other operating systems.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no settings that are specific to WIndows 7 or Windows XP operating systems. Firefox should have the same settings for both.

Windows XP has a few slight appearance compared to Windows 7 computers changes, but works the same.

  • How can I configure an unalterable, through synchronization, master device? I just had 1 computer really mess up 9 other becaue of sync.

A device driver has been installed on a satellite computer that changed several key areas of Firefox without even a confirmation screen asking if she was okay. One of the things that he has changed has the homepage. 10 computers are sync'd, the homepages of all computers was changed to a questionable search engine (something Babylon). I need a way to have a master device where when something is changed on a computer that is not the master, I wonder if I want to change to occur on all computers. The synchronization is very good for establishing a new computer from scratch here, but not when one of these computers changes something without our knowledge.

Sorry, that the synchronization service is not a method of making a device the "master" unit The synchronization server is the 'master' and any device with a change in the data will send the change on the server almost immediately. While the other devices on this sync account contact synchronization server these changes will be sent to other devices. Hell, if all your devices are on and Firefox is running, the change may have been sent to all your devices before you realize yet something changed on the 1st device.

The only way I can think to work around the problem you have encountered is to turn off (loosen this device) in Options > Sync before you make changes to a new PC or install anything again. Sync to have a method of synchronization to keep disabled on Firefox, start, allowing the user to launch the flash sync at will. This preference has been removed last summer (iirc) and now all you can do is to 'untie '.

IMO, you should file a Bug report on this issue - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ - Mozilla services - Sync. Should be some sort of "lock" against specific preferences being modified by malware installed secretly on a PC and that spreads via synchronization of all devices on this sync account.

  • Windows 7 and DCR-HC21

I have a Sony DCR-hC21 camera and laptop computers changed recently. I now run Windows 7 64 bit. I can't download drivers for the PMB software. Is there another way to transfer a movie from the camera to my laptop?

You cannot use the USB cable because there is no USB streaming of drivers for windows 7. Camcorder came with SW called Picture package. Not compatible with windows 7. PMB on esupport are updates only. Cannot use this. Check if your computer has an IEEE1394 port. If that's the case then you can use an i.link cable, known as a Firewire cable as well. No special SW necessary with this cable. Your computer will automatically use Windows live movie maker to capture video. If the computer lacks the IEEE1394, then you can use the A / V cable supplied with your handycam. Use of the A / V cable you will need to get an external A / V capture card that would receive signals of the handycam and pass them through a USB port on your computer. • sharing files and attributes Office offices remotely

I use my xp remote desktop to connect to three win 2003 Server DW1 and DW2 DW3. Because they all have enough similar content that it can become a bit confusing, so I thought I would use a different color for each office. But then I found that when I open them again, they all had the same color of desktop as a last that I've changed. Then I noticed that the names of computers changed in Solution Explorer, for example DW1 was now called DW2 etc. (but the remote window showed always DW1). So I thought I would put a text file on the desktop of each titled "It's DW1.txt", "it's DW2.txt" etc. But then text files started appearing on the machines incorrectly, for example DW1 was now a text file "TIS DW1" as a text file "is DW2" and DW2 had only a file called 'it's DW1 I tried to connect the machines using IP addresses instead of names, but they always do the same thing. It's as if all three machines somehow share files desktop and attributes. Any idea what goes wrong?

  • Richard & update questions about the Pavilion M8407

I just put in an order for a Pavilion M8407C PC.  I ordered the PC because it is a quad-core, running a 64 bit OS and the price was so right.  I am interested in building a box fairly high-end at about 6 to 9 months, but need something now because my box 5 years just has no power for my applications anymore.

I'll use it for modeling 3D and 3D engineering applications in the short term, and it will become a long term rendering area.

    Issues related to the:

    (1) the PC has 4 GB or RAM of 1 Gb Simms.  I'll upgrade to 8 GB, he would like to know if it is able to use 16Gb.  The OS is Vista Home Premium - is limited to 8 GB or 16 GB?  Is the limit of the 'House' or 'premium '?

    (2) the PC contains 2 360 GB drives.  Are they "RAID" ed or only 2 separate units (master & slave)?  All programs would be installed on a disk or both?  The second disk can be replaced with a larger without any OS or system of the impact?

    (3) how can be upgraded on the PC?  The operating system at any time will stop working because too many things have changed from the original HP Setup?

Thanks for the review - I'm pretty comfortable with a screwdriver and have been building my own boxes, I'm not too familiar with the way in which 'Tier 1' PCs are set up.

    See you soon...

For someone who cares, I have rebuilt the box and here are the answers to my previous questions...

    (1) limit of motherboard memory is 8 GB.

    (2) the 2 360 GB disks are not attacked.  disk 1 is the 'OS' and 'HP install' backup and the second disc is empty.  This is ideal, because all OS and programs can be installed on the operating system drive, and the second player can be offered for data.  Easy for backups.

    (3) I have considerably improved the system.  You cannot change the motherboard, that would invalidate the Windows operating system installation.  MS wrote on OEM computers, changing motherboards is paramount to junking the old computer and requires a new purchase of OS.  I think they make exceptions for warranty cards mothers replacement - better double-check.

    I've updated...

    (A) memory.  Replaced the 4 GB (1 GB simms) with 8 GB (2 GB simms).  Simms spare parts become old.

    (B) added a 1 TB drive.  The chassis has room for 2 hard drives.  I added the third disc to his empty home of 5.25 "under the DVD drive.  I had to use a kit of adaptation and screws washers to fix the kit on the sides split to create a good grip.

    (C) replace the video card.  The NVidia 8500GT has of one taken DVI and HDMI output.  I couldn't get a good Monitor 2 out of it, because my monitors have entered VGA only.  In addition, I wanted a 1 GB of memory on the card as the programs I run use large textures so need more video of 512 MB of ram.  Replaced the with a NVidia GTS250 1 GB 8500GT.

    (D) the updates above, especialy video card, required a higher power supply.  I replaced the original 300W with a 650W unit.

    (E) the M8407C system comes with a slot to accept a "HP Personal Media Drive" unit.  Recently, I received an email from Best Buy, which featured a HP Personal Media Drive unites 750 GB on sale for CAD$ 110.  Sold. Removable data backup unit.

To summarize, for a total investment of just under $ 1100, I created a Quad Core, 8 GB ram, disk hard system of 2.4 to pushing the 2 monitors.  The goal was to build a system capable of modeling 3D and animation for cheaper than buying the parts off the shelf.  I saved CAD $700 and have spare parts to help build a render region.

  • Try to access Windows XP desktop via wireless request a password when none has been set, and never asked in the past.

I have a netbook running Windows 7 Home Premium (the name is Gary-asus-pc), a laptop (my wife) running Windows XP SP3 (the name is Dell640m), and a desktop running Windows XP SP3 (the name is Dell8400).  My Canon printer is connected by USB to my desktop.  Until this week, my wireless network in my house has been working well and I could access the desktop files and printer both netbook and laptop.

No change in hardware or software tried laptop recently with the exception of the automatic updates.

Today, my wife tried to print a document of IE8 on his cell phone and it did not work.  I tried of the netbook and it worked fine.  When I tried to check the properties of the printer to the laptop, I got access denied message.  Checking the properties of the netbook has worked.

Thinking that something got screwed up on the laptop, I removed the printer from the laptop and tried to add again.  The wizard has found the printer, but when I click Next a window pops up showing the following:

    Window title: connect to Dell640m

    Message: Connection to Dell8400

    (in gray)  Username Dell640m\Guest

    Password

There is no password set on any of the machines.  Just by pressing enter or clicking OK just brings back the same window.

I closed the window and went back to try to add the printer again.  The laptop computer found the office but did not find all the printers on the laptop or the desktop.  This behavior is fairly consistent.  The first attempt after a reboot to find the printer is successful, but then asks a password for access.  Subsequent attempts are no printer.  Attempts to access the office system itself will require a password.

I ran the XP Wizard to re - establish home and office networking on the laptop and the desktop computer.  Two machines can be, the Office can see the computer laptop and netbook and their files and printers, but the laptop cannot access anything be it on the desktop (password required) Although it can access the netbook.  All the machines were restarted (several times).

Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this strange behavior between the laptop and the desktop computer.

    Problem solved!

I don't know why I didn't think this earlier. The problem has been that I have constantly asked me a password for the user Dall640m\Guest. I finally thought, "why not get rid of user Dell640m\Guest?

So, I run the Configuration Wizard from the network on both systems and passed under the names of DELL8400 and Dell640m of new names computers, changed the comment, has changed the name of the Working Group, then restarted both.  My hope was that starting a new network with a "totally clean slate" might work. I knew that, at all least, Dell640m\Guest username would not access to the network, so it was worth a try. Fortunately, it worked.

My access to shared files and printers.

  • I will be eligible for the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8?

OK, so I have a Dell PC with Windows 7, but there are LOTS of screenshots.

    Well, here it is:

    1. it is a laptop computer Dell Latitude D620, manufactured in June 2005 and in almost continuous use since then. It is still surprisingly running at full pace without any sign of imminent death, the only thing replaced after being the DVD drive by me a few months ago. However, it was for a reason any sold by some obscure computer store in Oregon that no longer exists with... you guessed it... Windows 98! Even if it was a PC brand new with a processor to 3.6 Ghz, 2 GB of RAM and a 80 GB HDD. Someone managed to get 98 supporting NTFS and multiple core processors, as well as all access modern ports.

    2. between yesterday and today, it has changed hands 3times & 1/2. I say 1/2 because it belonged to a mobile commerce rental service. It has been upgraded from windows 98 through the different versions (Millennium, 2000, XP, XP MC) almost as soon as he leaves the plateau. He never had the OEM OS, NEVER, my best guess would be XP Media Center 2005.

    3. when I bought it in March 2011 for $250 on Ebay, it was XP SP3 on it, which I suppose is reasonably close to the OEM and oddly, Netscape Navigator. I immediately updated for Firefox and Chrome (I was taught to hate IE by father of Ubuntu 11.04 - running, he has always not has not upgraded to 11.10 or 12.04 LTS because he does not like she went from Gnome to the complete unit for a more mobile sensation). After about 6 months with the thing, I decided to use the old Vista Pro my dad drive to improve and maintain my stuff and do the same thing in Vista to 7.

    4. I got the Windows 7 Ultimate key off one of these as a reward online survey companies, the insertion of a Windows 7 box was in an envelope in my mailbox the next day. I put it in my computer and it worked for awhile, but it threw an error "you must activate Windows" less than a month. I called Microsoft support and managed to get a free replacement.

So basically, it of really old (but still able to catch up with modern computers), changed hands a ridiculous amount of time, had a case upgrade and friends-letting-you-use-their-disc-for-free history that calibrated before the Millennium, was sold by a company that no longer exists with a tweak hack and possible root of an obsolete OS without reason that definitively cancelled the guarantee , crossed 2 FREE Windows 7 product keys, no one can find the original license or serial number and still less the person who actually bought the damn thing, AND the kitchen sink!

My question is, I'll be eligible for the Windows 7-8 upgrade, not, or is there no way to know even at this stage? Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

NOTE: Most of this information came from a complete history, I bought from the seller (who happened to have a scanned copy of each receipt, label, box and contract of prior to the time of thanks to God, even if I don't think that he could get this info legally or easily) for $ 20 as a result of a non-ebay transaction.

This blog says MS that you are entitled to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $ 39.99 it aims just have Win7 without making any reference to upgrade history.
