Conditional formatting using 2 columns in BI answers

Hello

Do you know if it is possible to use a conditional formatting based on the values of 2 columns?
At the moment it seems to be only possible to conditional formatting based on the value of
1 column compared to a hardcoded value.

I mean ' If col A > col B then turn red collar A value '.

Thanks for any help.

-Jenny

Yes, because we can do conditional formatting based on other columns for a column:
Suppose you pulled of A, B and wants to apply the color RED on one

Extract columns A, A, B (twice) for the 2nd, an expression of something like
-case when A > B then end, otherwise 0 1

On implementing shaped conditional A(1st A)

Add Condition-> choose 2nd
Add the value 1 and the RED color value.

Appreciate if you score as correct/useful

  • Comparison of the conditional formatting to another column

    All,

    I wonder if there is a way to compare to another column in the comparison of the conditional formatting? I have two columns, one which is the original value and another which is a return entry that starts with the original value, then changes. Is it possible to compare the two in the conditional formatting, and then say so bold or in italics the original version back writing change? I tried to use SQL and the format of the column as it is on the report and it does not accept whatever it is, it says that "the value entered is not valid."

    Thanks in advance,

    Josh

    Why not add a column that performs the comparison, hide this column and to sit the formatting of the column (you want to format) on the value of the hidden column?

  • Column selector conditional formatting

    Hello

    I did a column, which is the column selector. The column contains a value for the current period. Using the column Chooser, I choose period about 1 month ago, * 2 months ago * etc.
    Now, I'm doing a conditional formatting for this column. But the formatting applies only to the first column, which is the current period.
    Anyone know how to do the formatting applies to the period 1 months ago, * 2 months ago * I chose in this column as well.

    Thank you.

    You can also use the columns hidden conditions, I tried and it worked.

    Here is my code

    CENTRAL REGION

    CENTRAL REGION

    In this code C0 is the hidden column, and I used that for the conditional formatting. It worked.

    If my answers answer my question, please select useful or appropriate. It gives me a few points and in the future people will know what is working.

  • Conditional formatting based on another column

    I created a conditional format in several columns, all based in a column: "Format Type". In a table view, the conditional formatting works very well for the metrics. For a text column, the conditional formatting only works if the column 'Type of formatting' appears on his left.
    Is this right? I don't remember having a similar problem with 10 OBIEE.
    Now I use OBIEE 11.1.5

  • Help with conditional formatting

    Hi gurus,

    Short history of the report, we have all items in inventory, divided into 3 classes 'Max', 'Medium' and 'Low' and also calculated measure called "Exact percent" there. Now, we want to use conditional formatting on the particular point either RED or GREEN, and following is conditions to set the color

    Top-> green = 100 percent; Red = X < 100%
    Average-> green = X > = 98%; Red = X < 98%
    Bottom-> green = X > = 97%; Red = X < 97%

    In the condition above the perecent means specific percent.

    How to achieve this kind of condition.

    Thanks in advance.

    Chesneau

    Hi create a new column of percentage in repository so the coding responses will be simplified.

    % = 100,00 * ((Cycle_Count_Entries.COUNT_QUANTITY_CURRENT-Cycle_Count_Entries.SYSTEM_QUANTITY_CURRENT) / Cycle_Count_Entries.SYSTEM_QUANTITY_CURRENT)
    ... and no matter what your definition

    Then use a column in answers with the following formula:

    Case

    When table.class = 'High' then
    -Case when table.percent = 100 then ends up 'Green' else 'red '.

    When table.class = "Average" then
    When case table.percent > = 98 then ends up 'Green' else 'red '.

    When table.class = "Low" then
    When case table.percent > = 97 then ends up 'Green' else 'red '.

    end

    * If you do not have access to the repository, replace table.percent in above formula by the percentage formula that you have.

    Then your conditional formatting will be simplified because you need only refer to the column above.

  • problem of deletion of a topic with the conditional formatting - please help

    I have a problem with the removal of the header of a repetitive frame in another extensible framework

    My frame HAND led the report and contains many Extensible frameworks. When a frame has no data, I want the frame empty to be deleted so I try to use a conditional formatting - (* or should I do something else?) *.

    one of my simplest subframes as shown in the DATA MODEL is:

    AERIAL PHOTO
    AP_MDD_KEY the key that connects all of the database

    G_AP_NO
    AP_NO is the number of aerial photography
    AP_MDD_KEY is the key field

    My method:
    -I click the summary in the DATA MODEL field and then click on the AERIAL photo
    -This creates a column of synthesis named AP_COUNT
    -update the summary I put:
    Count FUNCTION
    SOURCE Ap_no
    Reset to report

    -J' I then select the M_G_AP_NO_GRPFR and open the property palette
    -Select conditional formatting, and then select NEW
    -with the Exception of the Format of page I select AP_COUNT is equal O and check hide the object
    -J' I click on APPLY and then OK

    -J' I go to the live preview generator and it takes about 30 sec to answer. But when I create and browse through the PDF report, where the group is empty (no data), the headers are still there. Nothing has changed.

    So, can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have about 15 more of the repeat frames it that I must apply this to.

    Any help is appreciated

    Glenn

    Hello

    what I would try first:
    Will the group framework, to which you added the conditional formatting and open format-relaxation-code in PL/SQL Editor. Somewhere at the end will be something like ' RETURN: AP_COUNT = 0;
    To see the value during execution simply put a

    SRW.MESSAGE(-1, :AP_COUNT);

    in the front of the line «back» When you run the generator preview again, it would popup a window showing the real value of the AP_COUNT (just to be safe.

    Second to check:
    Is your group really enclosing framework the header? (Just to be safe, check navigator)

    I hope this helps.

  • Conditional formatting depends on the date ranges

    Basically, I want to be able to enter a date in column A and a sum of money in the B column, depending on where the date in column A grave in a date range, I want the money in column B to copy to a corresponding column. Is this possible? The only questions I found on here deal in a conditional formatting with dates have to do with derivative.

    Thank you

    Julio

    I hope this help to clarify for you...

    It is not bringing conditional formatting.  Formatting conditional would change the format of a cell (or cells)... as the font, color, size, color cell background, or other formatting character is tics of a cell based on the contents of the cell

    You ask about including of the value of a cel another beach under certain conditions

    Here is an example:

    The first three rows are header lines.

    You must enter a valid date for the towing job.  Using the format "mm/dd/yyyy".

    C4 = IF (AND (DATEVALUE (A4) ≥DATEVALUE($B$1), DATEVALUE (A4) ≤DATEVALUE($B$2)), B4, "")

    It's shorthand dethrone select cell C4, and type (or copy and paste it here) the formula:

    = IF (AND (DATEVALUE (A4) ≥DATEVALUE($B$1), DATEVALUE (A4) ≤DATEVALUE($B$2)), B4, "")

    Select the cell C4, copy

    Select cells C4 at the end of the C column, paste

  • Numbers: Conditional formatting

    I am familiar with Excel, as with numbers. I try to use the conditional formatting in numbers, and it seems that less well implemented? Maybe someone can explain to me how this could work? To the point, I can't get a cell that shows the result of a formula to work in conditional formatting. Can't select areas of cells and to combine the formatting as it is on a single cell value compared and not a relative comparison to a cell in the same way, if I dragged a formula from cell to cell (it would fill the formula compared to all the cells in the new area drag out).

    I am trying to compare two columns. If the results in cell A2 are the same as in cell B2 and then, there is no additional formatting. If on the other hand, cells A2 and B2 are not equal, then the formatting should make the text in cell B2 red. Once I get this done properly then I also want to apply to the rest of the cells in the two columns.

    It does not work. The problem seems to be this column B is the result of a calculation and therefore cannot be read in the formula of conditional highlight? This is meaningless at all that it was designed that way. As I looked at length before this announcement, some talk of adding a third cell, but as the value that I need is to be calculated, I don't see how this is supposed to work - even in a workaround?

    It is a project where I get a handle on an open account that got away from me. I compare the monthly interest charges of banks in column A with the result of my formula in column B, which allows to calculate what should be the interest, according to the formula provided clean banks. These two cells must match exactly, and when it is off, I want to note. That's why once that I operate in two cells, I want to apply to the results in two columns. But even once, it seems no way to do this?

    It works here:

    To get this A2 "lozenge" click the box-and-arrow-symbol and then click cell A1.

  • Conditional formatting in obiee 11.1.1.7

    Hi all

    I use obiee 11.1.1.7 and I have a duty of conditional formatting. I have 2 columns A, B in my report, I want to apply conditional formatting on A collar based on values of col B. Col value is less than the value of B Col I should show red color. I created the report from 2 disciplines.

    Thank you

    Chandra

    You can set the condition to be between column A and B in the XML for analysis, or (b) by adding a new column to your criteria to produce a flag to use for your condition (like 'Column A - column B' and a condition on "(A-B) < 0"=""> red").

  • problem with the help of the conditional formatting on a cell that is defined as the percentage

    Hi all

    I am facing a problem with the help of the conditional formatting on a cell that is defined as the percentage.

    I am using beaches for example:

    is equal to or greater than 10% - green color

    5%-10%-yellow

    less than or equal to 5%-color red

    the problem is that keeps the value 10% get yellow color when it should get green.

    i thought that is a rounding issue but when I change the definitions of the cell to learn more decimal places I see this part of the percentage 9.65% and some of them are 10.00% and they are both colored in yellow.

    I also tried to change the way range of 6 to 9%, but values between 9.65% or 5.5% are not colored.

    I really enjoy your help!

    You know the reason and the solution.

    change the format of the column and go or add a column more with decimal and opt for conditional and hide report.

  • Disable the hyperlink with conditional formatting

    Hi experts

    I have an analysis of HTML code.

    My analysis have different ranks:

    Entity link - value
    Entity1 - 12
    Entite2 - 23
    Entity3 - 33

    Link entity is a column with a hyperlink or HTML.

    I want to deactivate a hyperlink in some entities in my report by using the conditional formatting... but I don't know how I can do this...

    The entity column has data Format: @[html]@H so I can see the link instead of html code... but I see links to all the lines...]

    In the conditional formatting, I can substitute data Format, but I don't know how to disable the link...

    Any help?

    Hello

    To disable a link via CSS, you could use the CSS properties:

    pointer-events: none;
    cursor: default;

    However, the first property does not work in Internet Explorer. You can test whether they work in other browsers and check if it fits your requirement.

    Hello

    In col1, access the properties of the column-> Data Format-> Select 'replace the default data Format'-> "With numbers like" menu drop-down select "percentage".
    This will add a "%" symbol to the measure.
