It is a folder on the Bookmarks tab, but I tried to replace the existing bookmarks bar bookmarks and bookmark subfolders. How can I get the imported bookmarks bar to take the place of the existing?

  You can delete the bookmark in the current folder of Bookmarks Toolbar and copy (or cut) and paste the bookmarks in the folder imported to the bookmarks toolbar folder.

  Yes, I can reproduce that. If you find and replace the < followed by one space with only < and then reload the page, Firefox he sees now in HTML format. Apparently, these spaces makes a huge difference.

  Never mind. I got it working now, I just changed in the wrong place I guess.

  I had to add the parameters to usr/lib/firefox-3.6.17/defaults/pref/firefox.js, and then restart Firefox. Here's what I added
  Pref ("network.proxy.type", 4); to have Firefox automatically detect the proxy settings.

Hotmail also no longer works in firefox, though it's fine in Internet Explorer. (In a moment paranoid, I was afraid that Microsoft was blocking Mozille; but this seems unlikely.) Connections look good: it's just that the browser is no longer implements/displays the text marked in the way I want (and I'm used to) to see. I deleted some code/action unintentionally?
