confusion of SMTP

Hi guys.

I have several emails from several areas (that i own). I also pay for a server smtp service so I can send emails from my appropriate addresses.

Oddly enough, my default e-mail address refuses to use its smtp server and attempts to use a very old I have not used for years (and it is not yet in the list of smtp servers).

Do you have any idea how to get rid of?

Do you mean that the old server does not appear as the main or one of the secondary servers in the e-mail for your default account settings? Are you sure that your server settings are correct number, especially SSL port required and authentication? If the Mail is really to remember the data which are nowhere in the e-mail settings, you may need to remove the accounts and recreate them from scratch.

    The wizard does not any part of the server names. I think you're confusing a label that simply States the type of server with the actual server name text entry (or more accurately, the address).

    A couple of my accounts using a format of "mail.example.com" and he had no difficulty at all by entering in these.

  • PIX 515E external SMTP and POP access DMZ

    I need help to solve the problem I am facing with the configuration.

    config: PIX515E Ver 6.3 (1), with 6 interfaces outside the interface is connected to the Internet router and assigned public IP. Access to the Internet is configured for users connected inside Interface only using the command Nat & Global (Global off-1 Interface). I want to activate the access to electronic mail (SMTP & POP3) host couple in one of the demilitarized zone.

    1 NAT configured on the interface & access list applied. If I allowed SMTP & POP only I even don't get a kick on the access list. If I have IP enable any of these hosts, I can surf the net, E-mail etc. After that when I restict to SMTP & POP only, it works for a while, after some time, I don't see any future success to the access list.

    What could the case of such behavior, I missing something...?, I'm confused.

    Ensure that you allow DNS from these hosts too (UDP/53), as they're going to do queries DNS for the remote host IP address and the domain MX record before they can establish a connection to the mail host relevant external.

    If you allow all IP then they will be able to make the DNS query, then perform the connection SMTP/POP, and they will be cached DNS queries for awhile that's why it works for a while after the removal of the ACL. Once the DNS cache expires in these hosts, they must make another DNS query causing crashes so that you don't have him through the ACL permits.

  • Pix 501 problem, I can not receive smtp messages

    Currently, I can send messages but cannot receive the mail from the Internet, if I remove the Pix and connect directly to the Modem/router then I can SMTP on port 25 and SMTP mail works fine both in & out.

    (b) allow the customers to pop mail web e-mail accounts

    I finally found the problem.

    On the ADSL router, you have configured the same 192.168.0.0/24 network you use behind the post office

    Server. This configuration will not work because it leads to a duplicate IP address range and you have routing

    problems.

    Change the configuration to another range of IP between the ADSL router and PIX firewall and everthing will be

    work.

    Note the address unique public IP that is configured, received is on the router Netgear ADSL uses all other interfaces

    public IP addresses.

    Recovery of the networks and the IPs:

    80.x.y.z/255.255.255.x = Netgear outside intellectual property

    192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0 = network between the internal Netgear and the PIX outside interface

    192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 = network between the PIX inside and the external interface of the mail server

    192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 = network between the internal interface of mail server and mail clients.

    Use 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 for this network, and then set it 192.168.2.1 for your ADSL router inside

    interface, use a static IP 192.168.2.2 255.255.255.0 on the PIX firewall outside interface.

    ADSL installation:

    You can choose on the Netgear between all public traffic of the 80.x.y.z IP to 192.168.2.2 transmission which is NAT or

    You can transfer to forward the http, pop3 and smtp, didn't really matter, it's just important that you NAT or PAT it

    for the PIX firewall.

    PIX installation example:

    All traffic received on the PIX outside interface for http, pop3 and smtp is then transmitted by 192.168.2.2 to mail

    Installation of mail server:

    The mail server has a default route to the PIX firewall.

    Default gateway on the mail server = 192.168.1.1

    Do you have NAt or PAT on the mail server internal clients to the Internet in the direction of the PIX? If not, you need to add another road on the PIX, so know the PIX the 192.168.0.0/24 network is behind the e-mail server, as this unit is the routing for this network.

    I have a special setup in Apple Mail: I config a manual counting that iCloud as IMAP for receiving server and Gmail as SMTP server to send. That allows me to have sort of a double synchronization with iCloud and Gmail.

    It was working perfectly until that date, but after Sierra upgrade it keeps losing my SMTP server config.

    After some instructions on mail and Sierra problems (in this thread: Re: IMAP e-mail accounts went into Mail after upgrade of Sierra), I have built my mail again, created new account, but the problem remains.

    What happens is that it continues to lose my SMTP server. I re-entered 20 times or more, save, but she mysteriously disappears. I go to Mail > Preferences > accounts, select my manual counting and this is what I see under "server settings":

    Password is missing. Username loses the game ' @gmail.com ' email address and authentication is set to None.

    If I'm in all the fields correctly, switch tabs, back: it's all gone!

    I tried to remove the smtp server and create a new one, but the same happens.

    Installation with SMTP servers for each account. THEN in Mail > Preferences > composition select always send from Gmail account.

    I am able to add my accounts (I have a yahoo and gmail) but they are not connected. Connection doctor says its an error with IMAP and SMTP. I also have trouble with the addition of outlook.     First of all, make sure you have an active Internet connection by opening a web browser and try to use your accounts through their webmail interface.

    If it works, so be sure that you are on a reliable WiFi network (for example, at home) which does not block e-mail protocols.

    And finally, if you have any security antivirus or other software installed on your Mac, then remove it completely according to the manufacturer's instructions, restart and then try to add your accounts again.

  • Unable to connect to an smtp server

    My OS is ubuntu LTS 14.10, I use Thunderbird version 38.4.0.
    I have 2 accounts, a gmail account and an e-mail office365 account.
    Until yesterday, I could send and receive emails on both accounts, however now it fails with the following error:

    The message send failed.
    The message cannot be sent because the connection to the server failed outgoing (SMTP) smtp.googlemail.com . The server is may be unavailable or refuses the outgoing (SMTP) server connections. Check that your outgoing (SMTP) server settings are correct and try again.

    (Or a similar message when connecting to the server smtp office 365.)

    I restarted the computer, confirmed the address of server, reset passwords, confirmed that I can ping the servers.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The parameters of your server for Gmail seem good. I'm not really familiar with Office365, but they are probably ok as well.

    Are there external firewall or proxy, you have to go?
    You have all this computer's Internet access?

    What is suspicious, that the two accounts are not at the same time. So my best guess is that the cause is rather external and not Thunderbird.

    Currently, my Thunderbird client saves a copy of all messages sent to the folder "sent", as expected. All sent messages are also stored on the Server SMTP (G-Mail in this case). To avoid having to delete them manually, I want to warn the outgoing message to be stored on the SMTP server in the first place. Currently, my account of Thunderbird for Copies and folders settings has a check mark next to the option 'Other' with a destination of the folder option sent in Thunderbird. I don't see any other parameters that could control how sent SMTP mail server handles. I use the POP service only with the G-Mail Server. What settings should be in place to prevent messages accumulate in the folder "sent" on the SMTP server account?

    I think I can now answer my own question! The question turns out to be a g-mail not delivered not a factor controlled by Thunderbird.

    Apparently g-mail can automatically a copy of all mail sent by SMTP service one account. It's a "feature" that cannot be disabled! A workaround seems to be to set up a filter in g-mail account settings for all mail with an address corresponding to your own email address and send the message to the trash folder. Items in the Recycle Bin are automatically deleted after 30 days. Google prevents the rule 30 days being modified by measure of security, but at least trashed messages for irrevocably removed in a month.
