Connect another computer to Firefox Sync

I have Firefox Sync on my laptop main (COMP1) and I added my iPhone (DEVICE1). This configuration works very well.

Now, I have a new laptop (COMP2) and plan to retire COMP1.

What is the best approach to recreate my connection to COMP2 and Device1?

I tried to use this method, but do not think it will work once I have wipe ordi1:
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/how-do-i-set-up-Firefox-sync?redirectlocale=en-us & redirectslug=share-Bookmarks-Tabs-and-more-Your-Other-Computers#w_get-the-code-on-another-computer

Steps followed:
Connect another computer to Firefox Sync

Follow these steps on the second computer you are trying to add to Firefox Sync.

At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button and select Set Up Sync. The Firefox Sync Setup window will open.
   Click I Have an Account.
Since you're not near the device with Sync already set up, click the I don't have the device with me link.
Sign in to your Sync account:
       Enter your account email address
       Enter your password
       Enter your Recovery Key
       Then click Next
You will see a Setup Complete screen. Click Finish to complete adding this device to your Sync account.

First of all, the various devices / computers don't connect to each other. It's a game Star connections; the synchronization server is the "hub" (lies in the middle) and each device / computer is a 'speak '.

What you have described is the way to go, but you forgot a step - Unlink (prefs sync) Comp 1 before you wipe the data from it! Or disconnect your network connection prior to erasure. Either of those who will avoid the changes that you make to ordi1 to be sent to the server, so no deletion of your synchronization had given from the server or other device when they connect on the synchronization server.

I got sync Firefox setup on my computer at home. Now, I want to add my work computer to Firefox sync so that both machines will have synchronized favorites. Firefox instructions on adding a computer to Firefox Sync say click on synchronize in Outils\Options tab. But there is no tab sync in Outils\Options. How can I add my work pc to Firefox Sync?

The Sync tab appears only if the Firefox Sync add-on has been installed, or you are using the Firefox 4 beta builds. Looks like you need to install the add-on Firefox Sync on the work computer.

  • Connect another computer/laptop to my WRT54G and it won't let me

Help, please!  I am trying to connect a computer to my Linksys and I'm having a hard time.  I open EasyLink Advisor and click the Actions tab and then go to 'add other computers on the network.  It detects my router and invites me to connect the network cable to the computer I want to hang up.  I do, and he tells me that the other computer is not connected to the internet that actually is.  Instead, I just click next (he told me that if I can't connect to the internet just click then) and it configures the computer for more than 10 minutes.  Help, please!

Connect directly to the router. Open your browser and type 192.168.1.1. When the router ask you the password, because it has not changed, leave the username, password is admin. You should see the router configuration page. Go to the Wireless tab and browse the SubTabs. Look for the security option.

  • WRT54G2 can not connect another computer

I don't know what I'm doing. I have the router configured on this desktop very well, but he is hooked via the modem to it.  I have also the Wii work through a router very well.  How can I get my other office to connect through the router to get internet connection too?

Is the desktop computer you want to connect to the router there a wired or wireless. If this is a thread, then you plug the Ethernet cable from your desktop computer to the router and you will be able to go online.

If your desktop computer is a wireless network, you must locate the "Wireless network connection" icon, it will be in the system tray, right-click on it and select "View available Wireless Network"... Select your wireless network... If your network is secured then it will ask you the security key and click Connect. Once you are connected to your wireless network, open your Web browser on your computer and check if you are online.

  • Firefox does not connect to the internet on this computer, if it does on another computer and Internet Explorer connects also with no obvious problems.

About 1 year ago, I helped set up Firefox on my mother's computer. It worked fine until a couple of days. Now, he is more connected to the internet. The system is Windows XP, service pack 3. Internet Exporer connects to the Internet on this computer. Also, I have another computer with Firefox and it works without problem, wireless. We tried to remove Firefox and then reload and which did not help. We receive no error message. Internet and Firefox simply do not seem to see each other.

Sounds like a firewall issue, seems to affect
More than the other browsers, Firefox.

  • After having successfully imported the My Favorites in Firefox Sync from my old computer to new computer, can I purge the old computer and still have the bookmarks on the new

I want to update my computer and made a Windows Easy Transfer to my new. My Firefox Favorites do not show on my new computer so I used Firefox Sync, which worked well. Now that I have the bookmarks on the new computer, I can delete the old computer and keep the bookmarks on the new.

First, unplug your old computer of Firefox Sync, so you do not accidentally delete data synchronization, but yes, you should be good to go.

  • I don't know if I have an acct? I have firefox synch with mobile and another computer but cannot connect here

Set up my new laptop and smartphone grabbed me from the user names and passwords in all directions. I thought I configured Firefox with an ACCT. I know that I made the successful synchronization operation so I how do I know if I have an acct Setup. I certainly have one now that I had to register to get help. There are a number of different acct on Firefox?

Each Mozilla Web site or the service has it's own logins. This support forum, Firefox Sync services, the modules support forum, Bugzilla, etc.. I use the same username and password for all except for Sync, which has a different format, to make it easy, but each of them must be configure each one separately.

If you already have all that data saved in Firefox on an old PC, it is not all that hard to get this data into another installation of Firefox Office then use Sync "synchronize" these data with the mobile device. See this support article:

  • When I connect to another computer, office, I can't access my favorites. Only available bookmarks are the other owners of computers.

If Mozilla is server-based, why are my bookmarks/favorites not available when I connect to my account? Thanks for any help!

This must be provided. Firefox is not based on server it is installed on your device.

It is possible to synchronize the devices using Firefox Sync, but it is not appropriate if you use someone elses computer.

You might consider taking a copy of your bookmarks with you or placing them available somewhere on the web (or on a medium such as a memory stick).

  • How can I register on Firefox Sync so that when I uninstall Mozilla Firefox from this computer and reinstall my settings for someone else, won't there?

Or just delete my settings and data in the Firefox folder that contains my profile only user on this computer, leaving the browser installed, but does not display my settings?

I want to assure you that all my settings and data will be always saved in my account of Mozilla Firefox, so that I can install the browser on a different computer and be able to connect to my account to see all my bookmarks, etc..

Nevermind, I figured it. Thank you.

For users having the same problem, I just uninstalled Mozilla Firefox from this computer went to the start menu and searched %AppData%, clicked on the "Roaming" and deleted the Mozilla folder. If it won't let you do this, make sure all the things Mozilla are closed and uninstalled. You can always sign in your Mozilla account on another computer or if you reinstall the browser on the same computer.

  • If I save bookmarks manually and the place it on another computer, are also my passwords to connect to these bookmarks will be transferred?

Hi guys! Hope you're doing great!

I want to give some very important bookmarks to a colleague, but for most of them, I have the passwords saved in Firefox (Linux 14.0.4 LTS) 34.0.

I am afraid that him giving the bookmarks that I have downloaded onto my PC from the option import and export bookmarks, also give passwords to connect to them.

Is it that this will happen or it is authorized to send necessary bookmarks? I don't have another PC on which I can test that for the moment.

I searched through these recommended articles:
