connect to a network in the 5 GHz band

Hi, I have a dell Inspiron 17SE 7720 and I don't see the 5 GHz of my Dualband Netgear N600 wifi network while I can connect to the 2, 4 GHz thin. Thanks in advance.

conantbh,

I could be wrong, but my notes, the Mini PCI Half Intel® Centrino Wireless - N 2230-WLAN/BT card works 2.4 GHz only.

  • WiFi connections: Laptop HP cannot find the 5 GHz wireless signal?

Hello, this is my first post I just bought my first laptop and my first wireless router and have been setting them up.

Laptop: HP touch laptop Pavilion 15 15-n088ca with windows (fully updated) 8.1

    Router: D-Link Dual Band AC1000-band 2.5 GHz & 5 GHz DIR - 810L

I configured the router and worked out the kinks and updated the software.  My laptop detects and connects with the 2.5 GHz Band anywhere in the House.  My laptop does not even find or see the 5 GHz Band.  However my Galaxy Tablet concludes the two bands and can connect at once, thought the 5 GHz seems weaker.

I noticed that my Galaxy tablet is much more WiFi networks that my laptop (that are in the houses around the street).

I have need help troubleshooting and problem solving.  I think that my laptop would find the 5 Ghz band and be able to connect. So I hope that it is a software or driver problem and just a setting that needs to be adjusted.  Any help would be appreciated.  I don't know much about the WiFi drivers, but I'm a survivor of Vista, so I should be able to solve this problem.

I don't know even what kind of program is running the WiFi software on my laptop? Or where to find it?

    Thank you

    Hello:

Welcome to the HP consumer's Support Forum.

I'm sorry that I'll have to disappoint you on your first post, but according to the specifications of the product on the link below your laptop comes with a single wireless card band (2.4 GHz) with bluetooth.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03940371

I can tell this by the description of the WLAN card.

    He is listed as a 1 x 1 802.11b/g/n WLAN.

Whenever you see a closed wlan b/g/n card, it's a map of the only band (2.4 GHz).

A dual-band card would be qualified bird a/b/g/n or a/g/n.

When I look at the parts list for your laptop on the link below, the last listed item is the wireless card there.

    Atheros AR9485 wireless 802.11b/g/n 1 x 1 adapter

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/search.aspx?SearchText=F0Q62UA

Googling the specifications of the card, I found that will confirm what I wrote above.

    http://reviews.CNET.com/adapters-NICs/Atheros-ar9485-802-11/4507-3380_7-35558446.html

So there is nothing wrong with the wireless card or router.

  • Why some devices (like the PS3) connects through the 5 Ghz band? (EA3500)

Just installed a Linksys N750 (EA3500) router (WAN - LAN Configuration).

I have set the two broadband networks: 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz with different SSID and different WAP/WAP2 staff mixt.

While some devices display correctly the two networks, I am facing problems with the 5 GHz band and wonder if it's the breath of some sort of failure:

-My iPad offered the two signals and allow me to define the 5 Ghz band, but it is showing the weak signals and stall when loading Web pages; as soon as I put it instead on the 2.4 Ghz band, (standing at the same place, of course), what's up, excellent signal.

-J' have a Mac Mini and the location of the PS3 side by side.  The Mac Mini seems to work perfectly in both bands, 2.4 or 5 - excellent signal. However, the PS3 has failed his test of connection and indicates that the signal is not noticeable on the 5 GHz. But connect as a wink on the 2.4 Ghz band.

-Got on and off voltage signal of 5 GHz on a laptop; connected to 2.4 Ghz, everything works perfectly.

-iPhone 4s: I can't even see the SSID of 5 GHz, but I get the 2.4 so Guess account...

So I'm tempted to conclude that some devices can not just keep up (?) to connect on 5 GHz...  But... a PS3? ... Huumm... (but true: PS3 came out in 2006...)

    No logic to this?

    Thank you

    Rob

There are devices just wireless which are not turned on or is not compatible to work with a network of Ghz band. The WiFi feature may not be up-to-date or limited to only work with a network of 2.4 Ghz. In your case, you might want to check with Sony so PS3 can be updated to work with a network of 5 GHz.

  • BlackBerry Z10 works: "your device is not connected to a network", but the staff is OK

    Good day to all,

We have a BDS server work with IBM Traveler.

We have 1 user who, since this morning, cannot receive email.

After looking around on the traveler and the BDS, servers, we found no manifest error.

On the phone, we can see that the Internet/personal workspace work perfectly.

But the BES 'Account' is in the status "not connected" and when you walk inside to examine the configs, we get the red message "your device is not connected to a network. To connect to a network and try again.

That is, of course, completely false as works of personal data and its other, personal accounts work correctly as well.

    10.1 device.

We triied what follows (no license):

-> Stop / start the data on the device.

-> Stop the data + mobile network > both start

    ->, Restart the phone

-> Go into airplane mode > back to normal.

We triied to reproduce the issue with the other 2 phones: both work well. If only 1 phone has the question.

The BES server shows that, since the beginning of the question, we get this:

  • Satellite Pro C870 can run on the 5 GHz band?

My laptop model Toshiba Satellite Pro C870 1E2 can run on the band 5 GHz with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Tried to ask this question to Toshiba, but it seems to be a technical problem it so impossible to transmit my question for them.

    Hello

The frequency of Wlan depending on the WLan card.
I think that the laptop was equipped with WLan RTL8723AE Realtek card that supports the 802.11 standard B / G / N standard

5 GHz is only available using 802.11 A or N

802.11 N standard works on 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz but 5 GHz is available ONLY if the WLan card would support additional one 802.11 standard; That is to say 802.11 A / N.

But Realtek RTL8723AE doesn t support 802.11 has and therefore the 5 GHz are not possible for this WLan module.

Apparently the Qosmio X 500 - 11U is provided with a 802.11n WLAN adapt, so I bought a 802.11n router, using the strip of the 5 Ghz. Unfortunately the build WLAN adapter supports ONLY the 2.4 Ghz band.

Is it possible to replace the adapter for another and, if so, which?

    Hey,.

Qosmio X 500 comes with different WLAN cards and certified maintainer can tell you if there is a WLAN card compatible with support 5 GHz.

But I put t understand why it is so important. I mean X 500 supports the new standard WLAN draft N and s the fastest WLAN standard that can be used at the present time.

  • How to manage the connection failure of network at the service of bussiness on OSB

    Hello everyone.

Thank you for your attentions. I need help with the error handling in the OSB 11 g. I have a proxy that road to a business service to check the status of the service profile. I use the java client to use the proxy service and return the results to clients. The problem that I am facing manipulation is failure of the network connection.

I want to get some message (or any useful information) of proxy service to indicate that the connection to the business service is not available when the connection fails. I tried to add the management of errors, but I can't found the action from the list of options.

Can you review my proxy service and tell me some resolutions?
    Any suggestion is appreciated.

You can add an error on the route action handler in your proxy service.

you could investigate the $fault variable and check example what errorcode BEA... comes back.
Then, you can decide what to answer in return... for example, create your own SOAP-fault and set your own messages.

now the default $fault value generated by the OSB will be get back

  • connect a printer wireless - need 2.4 ghz band of timecapsule

    Hello

I am trying to print via WiFi wireless and my new printer says that it cannot connect to a 5 GHz signal.  It can only connect via 2.4 ghz.  Can configure my TimeCapsule for dual band?  While I can print wireless?

I appreciate any help!  Thank you! Gracias!

    I am running the following:

    MacBook Pro (to 2011)

    El Capitan OSX 10.11

    TimeCapsule (to 2009)

    Printer: HP ENVY 4520

Can configure my TimeCapsule for dual band?

A Capsule of 2009 may or may not be a simultaneous dual-band model.  To find out what exactly what you might have, please look on the bottom of the time Capsule to locate the model number. Probably, it is integrated in the base of carpet of MOSS.

The model number starts with an 'A' follow-up of four digits. Post back with number and we will continue.

Is true even for the name of the wireless network... in short, no more than 20 characters, no special characters like an apostrophe, parentheses, asterisk, etc., without spaces in the name?

The wired connection, via an ethernet cable, also works perfectly.

Someone has encountered this problem before? How can I get around it?

    Hello davies957,

Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.

I recommend that you check the following:

In the centre network and sharing, machines with questions, make sure that network discovery is turned on. On this same screen, click on connect to a network. You should see a list of available wireless networks. Ensure that the connection attempt is to yours.

If your security provides encryption machines visitors should have the same code encryption.

Let us know if these steps solve your problem.  I hope the information is useful.

    Kind regards

  • Unable to connect to the network because the parameters of the computer do not match the requirements of the network.

The main computer in my house is connected to the web via a modem to our ISP (Cox).  We use a Cisco's Linksys wireless router.  We have configured a new laptop to connect through the router yesterday.  Now my laptop, which had been the connection very well, can't access the network.  When I go in the "network and sharing Center" and pull up nearby wireless networks, our network shows is even more bars, just a red X.  Reads the error message "unable to connect to this network because the settings of that computer to match the parameters required network.»

I don't know what has changed on our network, but I was unable to understand what these "required parameters" are, so I was unable to change the settings of my laptop to match the requirements.  Pls help.

    Hi Sharpdale,

    Step 1

I first suggest you to perform network troubleshooting in Windows 7 and check if it finds problems, and if he is able to fix it.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

    Step 2

Use Windows to configure wireless settings and check if it helps to solve the problem.

    a. click on Start menu and select run

    b. type ncpa.cpl, and then click OK to open the menu of the network connections.

    c. Select your Wi - Fi connection service and choose the option change settings of this connection.

    d. go to the wireless tab and select (tick) labeled use Windows to configure my wireless network

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • East - the Pavilion 20 it be upgraded to the 5 GHz wireless card?

The HP Pavilion 20 can be improved to support the 5 GHz wireless card?

HP Pavilion 20-b010 all-in-One desktop computer
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03524659

This computer has an integrated Ralink RT-5390 mini-map PCIe wireless.
    http://www.MediaTek.com/en/products/connectivity/WiFi/PC/PCIe/rt5390/
This card is the only ONE BAND (2.4 GHz), supporting IEEE 802. 11 b, g and n

IF you wish for the 5 GHz band,
THEN BOTH devices must support the new IEEE 802.11ac Standard Dual-Band.

FIRST, a wireless (WAP) access port or Wireless Router on your home network must be Dual-Band (IEEE 802.11ac).

IF this equipment is provided (for rent) your provider of wireless Internet (ISP).
THEN, you will need to work with them for this upgrade (may have fees $$).
IF you have your wireless router, THEN it must support IEEE 802.11ac for the 5 GHz band.

SECONDLY, your HP Pavilion 20-b010 all-in-One will require a new (replacement) wireless card and MAY require the replacement of the antenna (dual-band).

The AC-7260 Intel Dual-Band with Bluetooth 4.0 is a topic highly IEEE 802.11ac compliant PCIe minicards.
IF you only had previously not supported Bluetooth, THEN this additional feature is a BONUS.

  • To connect to a network broadcasting?

I can't connect to my network, I have broadcast.
I don't see advance features on the phone to avoid this problem.

How can I connect to my network without radio maunlay?

Z3 supports access point that does not broadcast the SSID, but it won't work if you connect to the network, while it is broadcasting and then stop broadcasting. In this case, you will have to tap and hold the network, forget about it and then add it manually. I just tested here on the 5 GHz band, but I can't find any problems with it.

But as I understand it, you have done this?

What happens if configure you a different SSID (or modify the existing) and try to add that?
