Connect with vCenter Orchestrator 7

Can not find, where I can connect the camera orchestrator 7.0 can connect to the Server vcenter. There is no documentation available for this version

can anyone help? Thank you very much

Connect vRO 7 to vCenter, you can use a workflow now, check under \Library\vCenter\Configuration

- Add an instance of vCenter Server <--> this workflow implements vRO to allow vRO to things with vCenter.

- Registry vCenter Orchestrator as a vCenter Server extension <-> this workflow shows vCenter Orchestrator is available to run workflows. It is important for vSphere integration Web Client for Orchestrator. Note: vRO and vCenter MUST use the same source SSO and the user logged on to the Web Client vSphere must be a member of the Administrators group of the vRO you specified for Orchestrator.

  • Install Oracle 64-BIT ODBC connection with vCenter 5.0 question

I'm running W2K8R2 64 bit and I am trying to connect to an ORACLE DB so I can install vCenter 5.0. I had the Oracle DBA create the DB, then I went into my ODBC on my server vCenter. I tried to create a system DSN and noticed that it there was only the SQL client. No problem, I went ahead and installed the 32 bit ODBC Oracle client\driver.     I went back, but he has not yet shown, after more research, I LEARNED that I had to go to C:\WINDOWS\SYSWOW64 and appear ODBC32. EXE that I did and I was able to connect to the DBs and see my TNS name and test connections with success. I then in vCenter 5.0 installation, but when I got the option to choose between SQL Express and the DSN names, I couldn't see my DB in the fall down... What don't get me?  I'm using using SQL, but the process is OK except that I do not see the DBs when the installation menu of vCenter dropdown, even though I was able to connect successfully to them through ODBC. ??

In order to get listed in vCenter Server Setup, you must have created a 64-bit DSN, which requires a 64-bit Oracle Client. You can try to create a 64-bit DSN after you install the full client for 64 bit / instant client

VMware vCenter Server Version 4.1.0 Build 491557

VMware vSphere Client Version 4.1.0 Build 491557

I used vSphere Client to access a single ESXi host for some time.  No problem with the single host management.

It is my first installation of vCenter Server (on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 7601 Service Pack 1).

As Microsoft IIS Web server was already running on this host, I used alternative ports for tomcat services:

    80 > 8080

    443 > 446

    Web Services-> 8081

When I connect to localhost:446, I can open a vSphere Web Access session and see the following:

How to contact the ESXi host and view its inventory this server?

Then I tried using vSphere Client to administer the server vCenter Server, but cannot connect.  The error is:

"A communication error has occurred when sending data to the server. (The underlying connection was closed: an unexpected error occurred on a send.) »

It doesn't matter if I run the Client vSphere on the same host as the center of vSphere, or a remote host.

I tried to use the IP addresses and host names.  No difference.

I have disabled the firewall on the host vSphere Center.  No difference.

Both host ESXi and vCenter Server have valid license keys.

What should I do to get vSphere Client to connect to the server from vSphere?

    Hello

I change ports instead IIS as vCenter server, but if you use port 446 you specify port (446) thatcustom in vSphere client as well. In the field of connection for the vSphere client

How to contact the ESXi host and view its inventory this server?

After establishing the connection with vCenter server, you must create the object data center and add your ESXi autonomous server to vCenter server. After you will see ESXi inventory in vCenter server

To view the server vCenter you need to add to vRO to help add a vCenter Server Instance workflow found in:

Library-vCenter-> Configuration >-> add a vCenter Server Instance

  • Orchestrator 7.01 no record with vCenter 6 u2 device

    Hi all

I try to get Orchestrator 7.01 working with our 6 vCenter u2 aircraft. The workflow on 'Add a vCenter server instance' and 'Register vCenter Orchestrator as a vCenter Server extension' said they successfully completes. The instance of vCenter appears in Orchestrator after the workflow Add. In the web client to vCenter, I go to the House/vRealize Orchestrator and I don't see the getting started page. For some reason, I don't know, Orchestrator is not enrolls as an extension in vCenter. I checked http://vcenter/mob. Has anyone seen this / know what's the problem?

I activated the TLS 1 unit Orchestrator to try to eliminate this as a problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Brian

OK, it seems that this error occurs when you provide a wrong value for the second parameter of the workflow of entry "Insert Orchestrator as vCenter Server extension" (the setting labelled 'External to announce this Orchestrator address').

If you provide the address in a format such as sample.domain.com or 10.20.22.23, the workflow completes successfully but extension is not registered, and the error will appear in the newspapers.

The correct format would be something like https://sample.domain.com:8281 or https://10.20.22.23:8281 (i.e., a full URL specifying system/ip address and port).

Another option would be to try the second empty parameter, in which case the workflow will try to record multiple URLS for each network interface on your machine to entrance on the left, but that could be problematic in some cases, especially with the IPv6 interfaces.

  • To connect to vCenter using the same Session with PowerCLI

    Hi all

Is it possible that we can establish multiple connections to vCenter using the same session with Powercli.

    As connect-viserver-Server "vcenter1" - domain\domainacnt of the username-password "Password".

is to establish several connections and we want to limit, because we are in the process of report generation based on the web developing using Powercli with IIS.

    Please suggest.

You can use the Session parameter on the cmdlet Connect-VIServer .

I use this for the PowerShell Workflows, see workflow of PowerShell and PowerCLI

  • VSphere Web client and client heavy cannot connect to Vcenter server 5.5, web client fails with 2032 error before the connection, then the work after one minutes ferw.

    Hi all

I really need help here.  I have a new installation of Esxi5.5 and installed the server vcenter build 5.5.0.5201 device 1476389.

I have host files properly configured for DNS and Server 2008 R2 running that I use to connect with the client or web client heavy.

Initially, I get an error with the web client to connect, he began to paint Vmware and when it comes to 'r' in the name it fails with #2032, so I can no longer

access the page at all, he says: connection refused for the page. If I wait a while I can connect again.

heavy client vSphere fails at this time as well.  However, I cannot communicate directly with Vsphere client to server esxi host and it works all the time.

There seems to be a problem with the device of vcenter server because the thick client fails, and does not open a backup program using vcenter server

    inventory when this happened.

Please help, it drives me crazy...

    Dan

    Hello

Since I found the solution to the problem of connecting to the device of vcenter.  It is a conflict of IP address on the network.  There was a machine with the same IP address virtuall

as the vcenter server.  This caused intermittent problems etc.. Why web client would still work if I have the vmware client open I do not know

so thank you for your help.

  • VCloud direction to connect to Vcenter with 3 groups.

    Hi all

We have a vcenter with 3 groups, we want to connect the vcloud Director to a single cluster where we have virtual distributed switch. We want to manage the other two clusters with vcenter. Is it possible to connect a single cluster in vcenter vcloud Director. Also is there any document allowing to learn about how vcloud Director will communicate with vcenter when connecting and after.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Vikram.

Yes, it is possible.  When you create a 'provider' in vCloud Director... you select the Cluster that you want to use as resources gross calculation.  Then, when vCloud Director creates items in this provider, it will be only the cluster you had selected.

The connection is via the SDK for the most part, on port TCP 443.  This is the same as the vSphere client installable.  If you are looking for our KB system there is a diagram of network for reference. (1030816 KB)

  • Interaction with OpsCode Chef HTTP vCenter Orchestrator v5.1 Update 1 REST API

Interaction with OpsCode Chef HTTP vCenter Orchestrator v5.1 Update 1 REST API

I need to be able to use the HTTP REST APIs to run commands on the server of leader during the commissioning and decommissioning of virtual machines.

    Chef Server API Documents

This requires the ability to use the SHA1 algorithm and also the Base64 algorithm in vCenter Orchestrator v5.1 update 1 to create the header of hashes.

    Method: HTTP_METHOD

    Axes of path: HASHED_PATH

    X Ops-content-Hash: HASHED_BODY

    X Ops - Timestamp:TIME

    X Ops - UserId:USERID

    where:

    • HTTP_METHOD is the method used in the API request (GET, POST, and so on)
    • HASHED_PATH is the path of the query (/name_of_endpoint for the server open source) and/organizations/organization_name/name_of_endpoint took the head or private Chef. The HASHED_PATH must be hashed with SHA1 and encoded using Base64 and should not have repeated oblique (/) or end with a bar slash (unless the path is /).
    • The private key must be an RSA key in the SSL .pem file format. This signature is then divided into strings (of not more than 60 characters per line) and placed in the header.

The server of crypts that header and ensures its content corresponds to the content of unencrypted headers contained in the request. The timestamp of the message is checked to ensure that the request has been received within a reasonable time. An approach to generate the signed headers is to use the authentication mixlib, which is a header based on a class signature of authentication object similar to one used by the Chief customer.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Perfect timing!  I was just finalized this week the docs and test of a package for the Chef Server API:

Let me know how it works for you!  Of more if there are other points of termination or I missed scenarios, they should be easy to add.

  • ESXi5 hosts with free licenses to connect to vCenter?

I have a client that is currently running 2 guests with hypervisor ESXi5. What are these hosts against the free license registered and can freely use the guests individually.

They seek to improve their installation to include vCenter and I would like to get a confirmation on the hypervisor, licenses and connection to a vCenter server.

If they buy an allowed vCenter server, also must pass the hypervisor to the licensed version? or will they be able to link the free hosts under license to a licensed version of vCenter and just have reduced the capacity?

I can confirm to connect to vCenter, you'll have an ESXi host under license. Any license will do, except free.

  • No vCenter Orchestrator connecting to vCenter 5.1

Yes, SSO is necessary regardless of the device you're using, or one based on Windows Installer. When you configure SSO in vCO, it fits in the SSO (vCenter) server so that integration takes place...

  • How to make a call from CPO to vCO (vcenter orchestrator)?

How to make a call from CPO to vCO (vcenter orchestrator)?

    Hello

I am trying to create a workflow that would connect to a vCO.

    I was Expecting

    1. how to create targets for the vCO and

    2. how acess that target.

    Concerning

    Shiva

    1) there is no target for the vCO. We have a target/connection to Virtual Center (vCenter)

    (2) If you want to make vCO calls you could do, it all depends on how the API is structured. You can make calls via web services or CLI, etc.

If you give your use case it is perhaps more to discuss. If you need an ENH or put something in, you can open a case with the TAC.
