Connection USB Hub with Multiple Hard Drives Wi - Fi router

I was shopping for a router wireless n. I liked this one because of the Gigabit and the usb socket: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/CA/en/products/WRT610N

I was wondering if I could plug more than 1 hard drive into this USB port using a usb hub. I would like to use the router as a kind of SIN. I have a few drives hard usb and I would like to access it without having to be on all computers.

Don't you think that the firmware on the router supports more than 1 hard drive? Has anyone tried this before? Can someone test it for me if you have the right hardware?

Thanks for the help

No, the Linksys WRT610N, you can use a single USB and hard drive... However on NAS200, you can use two USB and two hard drives.

I would like to ask in this forum. I have a Seagate 1 TB external hard drive backup more USB 3.0. First when I bought the transfer speed still very well and I don't worry. After a few months, my data put in also increased as much time to something else as long as it is important to keep. The problem is that my hard drive now transfer data as slow as a snail. There just get 1 Mbps of transfer speed (only in my laptop, in all the hub in my laptop). When I plug it into another computer, it's fine running at 20 and 40 MB/s as normally as USB 2.0 wired hub. Another hard drive that plugged into my laptop works very well, so I guess that only my hard drive is never play well with my laptop, so that they begin to work ppliquee. I searched many tutorials that help me to solve the problem, but no one worked for me.

Is it possible to solve my problem as something to change or update?

  • New external USB 500 GB Portable Hard Drive appearing is not in Windows Vista

I connected a new 500G portable hard drive to a front USB port on my HP PC (with an AMD Phenom X 4 image processor), under Windows Vista Home Premium. Windows presented a pop saying that the driver has been installed, then he said: USB device installed. The software of the device has been installed successfully and is ready for use.

However when I looked for the drive in Windows Explorer it wasn't there. I read in this forum, and using the information that I realized that I accessed the computer on my PC management - up it only shows C: drive and D: drive image factory, but below that, when disk 0 is assigned to the C: and D: drives it shows disk 1, unknown, uninitialized. Assuming that it is the car in question, I tried to initialize the disk, but then the error FUNCTION INCORRECTE.

I don't know what to do at this point. If the player has not been assigned a letter, there seems to be no way to transfer or partition.

A new drive must be formatted. That is why it is sjowing up as disc 1, unknown, uninitialized.

  • How do I set up a dual boot Vista and XP with 2 hard drives?

Dual boot Vista and XP with 2 hard drives

I tried to get my computer has a separate hard drive put in place that lets me run Windows XP or Windows Vista. I tried the path of the CMD, but I could do things wrong with that because the news NTLDR appeared much too different info from Vista. Currently, I have deleted this change to the startup configuration. I want to know what I have to do to get these two to be able to boot. I noticed problems similar to mine, but the answer always seems to be a software that would cost me money.

    Thank you

    Tevans95

    Hello Tevans95,

You cannot install two different operating systems on two different disks. For a dual-boot environment, you must install both XP and Vista on the same drive with different partitions.

In addition, you must install Windows XP first and then Windows Vista.

You can check the items below which will give you information on Dual boot.

    Install multiple operating systems (multiboot)

    Set up a dual-boot system

Change the default operating system for startup (multiboot)

There is no software that can help you to install XP and Vista on different drives.

  • Problem with connector hard drive to spring on T43 motherboard

My T43 (type 1875) cannot operator unless I am pressing on toward the down on the palm rest above the spring certainly drive connector.  This connector seems to be designed to move upwards & downwards on two positions.  44 pin hard drive seem to connect indirectly to the motherboard via 44 springs in this assembly.  This Assembly should be compressed manually for the system to communicate with the hard drive.

I do not understand the physical design of this connection?  I certainly do not understand the purpose of this complicated mechanism.  It is part of the protection of the hard drive?

To correct the problem, I see two possible solutions;  either compress the springs, then bend the stems of alignment to maintain the State of compression, which makes electrical connections or replace the motherboard.

If someone put me on how I could fix this?

Note of the moderator; email address removed before finding too much spam

This is common with the T4x problems and those who have not been carefully reassembled since the Council can become cracked over time especially when door one-handed from a corner as a person would natrually.

Even models 15 inches and their solid upper bezel can experiencine this issue, but the models 14 inches and the palm rest of split and are the most sensitive.

The system works when you press the right ALT just below and to the right of the trackpad?

If you took the palm rest off the power, then press the plug of the battery, it restores the operating system?

If so, you may be lucky that the Council itself cannot be cracked but it could be the connectors of taking battery BIOS on the Board and in this regard a $3 repair. Cut the connector and replace with a new one or cut and reweld to ensure that the circuit is solid.

If it is cracked, you can hold with some high quality neoprene since used neoprene "shrink as styrofoam when exposed to heat and pressure. Shim planks will run, but the added stress of ttignehtning it back together can create other pauses as you are bowing the bridge so that the stress has to go somewhere.

In addition, the system will work better if it remains stationery for a portable shim will pass when the goods are shipped under nomral conditons.

Finally, the entire system will be brick and you can save or part the rest of it.

  • Raid PowerEdge r.620 with single hard drive controller

    Hi all

I have Dell PowerEdge r.620 with 1 * 1 TB hard drive, Raid Controller using mini H710... When I try to install Win Server 2008/R2 x 64 the HDD is not detecting, I've read in this forum of the disc cause hard does not detect is pilot raid is not installed, but I don't have that single hard drive is possible to set up raid with single hard drive or I don't have to use raid controller but I still don't understand how to set up the server with no raid...

    Thank you...

    Dimm21
Sorry for the late reply, do you mean raid controller in the server? If you want to say, I always do not install driver coz is new server than i've got...

I want to know, if posibble install raid on one hard drive and how to configure who... Server raid controller is mini H710

    Thanks for your response

Yes, the RAID controller.  One you have?  I'll assume a PERC H710 for now:

The H710 PERC is NOT compatible non-RAID (you cannot use a single disk without RAID)... in order to use a hard drive, you MUST configure a single drive RAID 0.  This must be done in the RAID controller BIOS utility, accessed by pressing CTRL-R during POST when prompted.

Once configured, you need TO load the driver for the operating system, see the drives connected to the controller.

If you have a H310, it SUPPORTS no RAID, so you do not have to configure anything in the RAID controller BIOS, HOWEVER, you MUST always load the RAID controller driver during installation.

  • Cloning a virtual machine with 2 hard drives!

    Hi all!

I ran into a very annoying problem. I'm trying to Migrate/convert virtual machines to a host in the CR. Each virtual machine has 2 hard drives which are located on 2 different data stores. When I try to migrate or to clone virtual machines from the host on my Cluster I get an 'error of operation period.

After scratching my head for a while, I discovered why. The virtual machine have 2 hard drives on 2 different data stores. Both flat.vmdk files are called eponymous because they are on different data warehouses (TTDC001.vmdk). I created a VM test on the cluster with 2 hard drives and flat.vmdk flies are named TTDC001.vmdk and TTDC001_1.vmdk.

So my conclusion as to why I get "Opération Timeout Error" is that VC trying Migrate/Clone to the virtual machine but is mistake because his attempts to migrate/Clone 2 hard files with the same name!

Can someone give me some pointers as to how I can get around this? I am currently copy the file hard 2nd to my deskop from the data store and rename it then copy him on the new cluster data store to see if it works as you cannot rename the file hard in the data store. It just seems long way round to migrate virtual machines with 2 hard drives, and I don't even know if it works!

    Please help!  :|

    Andy Hughes

    Andy of the evening,

I do it well. Thank you for asking.

So if I'm reading correctly it seems that you are trying to clone a virtual machine from a stand-alone host to a host that is part of a VMware Cluster. When you do this you get a network midway through the copy error. Is this correct?

Can you confirm how fast is connected to the Service Console between the two servers? For this kind of work I would recommend making them run at 1000/full, assuming you're not already. Could you also post the entire message that you get when the clone fails.

    Kind regards

    Glen

My computer with two hard drives and 2 starting systems has the car crash in the solid state. When I got the new drive and tried to restore from time capsule, I lost some data. How can I see what backups are on the time capsule? My laptop is also saved to the time capsule. Everything is in 'Data' when I look through the Airport utility. I think that the information that I've lost are still there since I was a Capsule 3 to.

Time Machine backup to a sparsebundle.

The sparsebundle will use the share name of computer. So, it should be obvious who is your Macbook and that is your Macpro.

Open the sparsebundle in Finder and keep open the subfolders until you get to the backup of each separate hard drive...

You has of course set the exclusion in Time Machine?

By default, Time Machine will exclude your second drive unless you have included it. Did you?

Once you get to this level during the backup, you can do a full restore manually whenever you want.

  • Problem with new HARD drive and Qosmio Player installation

    Hi all
I hope someone can help, I had my Qosmio for 2 1/2 years now and recently had a problem with the hard drive. I decided to replace the hard drive, because it was the fastest solution. The problem I have now is that I can't receive TV on media center. I tried to install qosmio player at the disk to see if it made any difference, but when I run the provided recovery disc software tells me that there is not enough disk space! The laptop came with a 60G hard drive and the new HARD drive manufactured by the same manufacturer is a 150 GB, can someone help me out with this would be appreciated.

    Thank you
    ED.

Have you tried to install Qosmioplayer initially, then on operating system? If I remember well, on this first portable Qosmio, it was very important to install Qosmioplayer initially.

  • A40: problems, I think that with a hard drive

Hello! Bit of background - had a laptop Toshiba SA40 ISI during a little less of 2 years, and there have been some major problem with it in these last days (until then it had been beautiful and functional with brio).

He started working yesterday incredibly slowly, took forever to load, kept on crashing etc. After the restart for the 5th time, it would have just send me to the "Windows didn't load correctly screen ' and ask me to select an option, and whatever that I did sent me to the toshiba load screen, Windows does not at all.

So I had use the product recovery disks and reformat the hard disk. For half a day, the laptop was working once again excellent, no problem. Then this morning, out of nowhere, it completely crashed again. I rebooted, and again the same problems appear. But now I can't used the product to reformat recovery disks. A few times he reformatted then the screen became all black. The error messages became more in worst - now, when I'm trying to recover, comes up with an error message:

GDISK (e) cannot write to sector 0 of the fixed disk 1 - the IDE controller error

F0ollowed by a little more information, I have not a chance to note that the screen then recovering flashed, then the screen says:

    !!!!!!!!!! Error!

    Then a screen that says:

    DAY 02/05/06
    Error No.: 11030
    Message: Invalid destination drive

He has gradually deteriorated. I think there is a problem with the hard drive, the previous messages referred to make it incapable of partition. It is quite anmnoying as it came straight from heaven. Everyone has experienced or heard of something like that? Anyone know what is the problem or what to do? How do you think it will cost you for difficulty? I don't know if it is covered by the warranty, or if this series comes with 2 year warranty.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Russell

    Hello

If the warranty is valid, then all replacements will be done free of charge. If you are not 100% sure so call the Toshiba service in your country. Please note; If you open the notebook (remove covers) by yourself if you will lose the warranty.

  • Satellite A20-S103 - crackling noise with new HARD drive

    Hello together

I upgraded my laptop A20-S103 with a hard drive Western Digital WD2500BEVE 250 GB running under Windows XP Pro.
Since then, I have problems with the sound and the movement of the mouse when the CPU usage is high.

Up to 50% of its use, works well but before I crack and mouse sticks and made jumping movements.
The BIOS and drivers are updated to the latest versions of Toshiba online.
After awhile and a lot of research, I got also the HDD running in DMA mode with the IDE4008.exe ALI tool isn't that hard drive is running in PIO mode.

In addition, I think that the speed of the hard drive is low when the CPU usage is high.

Please also read http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=89990𕾆 that is showing that I'm not the only one with this problem.

    Anyone know a solution?

I agree with Akuma. You should try to update the BIOS and drivers from the chipset and see if it works or not.
    It's worth to try ;)

  • Iso file of windows xp can directly be installed USB on a formatted hard drive?

Iso file of windows xp can directly be installed USB on a formatted hard drive?

    Not directly.

There is a SMALL chance that if your hardware supports it (unfortunately never say you anything on your PC or BIOS), you can boot from a USB stick or an optical drive and install Windows XP like this.
    But it is unlikely.
In addition, tell us what you mean by 'windows xp iso file. This is very vague, and we do not know what you are talking about.
