consolidation of records of large files

I had to do a data recovery, and now I have two copies of the same file.  Due to the accident, they are different.  We're 252GB with 68 subfolders, the other is 77GB with 440 subfolders.  To save space, I would like to consolidate, with the goal of eliminating duplicates and not remove the copy remains one.  When him drag / drop, I saw different ways to do this, but what is the best way to achieve fast and foolproof way?

Basically just open the two files and drag the content from one to the other and drop it.  If the same thing is already there, you get will ask you want to keep (if they are the same so no matter you are keeping).

It is safe, too: If there is only 1 copy of something, it won't touch.  Simply, it combines two games together in a great set, ask before creating duplicates.

I tried to open some files UFF58b in Signal Express.  Unfortunately with larger files (300-500 MB), the program crashes whenever I try all the waveforms.  The affected functions are short bursts of vibration data of 22 channels.  Is it possible to extract a set of 22 functions with the same timestamp with Signal Express?

Otherwise, what is the best way to retrieve a dataset using Labview?  I've been watching the VIs data storage and successfully open files with open data storage (UFF58b).  Is it possible to define a query to select a particular stamp?

    Hi Paul,.

Thank you for that. Please see this example I created just to do what you described. At this point, you can specify the timestamp of the record 3 that you are interested in and it will return these wave functions.

    I hope this helps.

  • Can a large file transfer solution be designed using BITS?

    Gurus!

I need your help to design a large file transfer solution. I need to transfer files from a network of about 70000 PCs in a central records repository. The size of the files must be transferred to the PCs range from 10 MB to 2.5 GB. Is it a good idea to use the background intelligent transfer service (BITS) to transfer? Or is it better to use a custom or off the shelf solution FTP (such as IBM managed file transfer) for this? If I use LOCKS, what are the advantages and disadvantages?

  • What is a large file?

I just ran Check Disk on C drive and I was told that ' 676 records in file large treatment. "

What is a "big file" in this context?

How can I identify them - without manually browsing 500 GB :)?

    Thank you

Please provide a copy of a report of chkdsk on your partition C. Select Start, all programs, accessories, right-click on command promptright-click and click run as administrator on the menu drop down. Type cd\ and press ENTER. Type "chkdsk c:" without the quotes and press ENTER. Make sure you include the spaces indicated. A report, stating, among other things, a summary of how disk space is used, is provided. If you want a report on a partition or one drive other than C, you need to go to this partition. To access F, where F is the required partition you type F: and press the ENTER key.

Copies of the reports from a command prompt can be tricky. Right click and select mark. This allows to highlight the selected text, and then click on copy. You will then open Word, Notepad or similar file, right click and paste. The selected text transfers your Clipboard to open the file. You can paste directly into a response message to the majority of the forums.

Files dump, you should be appearing as large files. Change your settings for dump files to produce an image kernel memory. Select Start, Control Panel, system, advanced, System Settings Advanced tab and click settings to start recovery. Under system failure, select the checkboxes before to write an event to the system log and restart automatically. Change the option Write debugging information by using the scroll to the right for image kernel memory. Click OK , and in the next window, click apply and OK. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

  • CANNOT DELETE the LARGE FILE - Windows Explorer hangs

    Windows 8

I made a very large pdf by mistake (14 GB) and now I can't do anything with it. Can not open, delete, move...

I tried to delete the entire folder where it is located, but also that Windows Explorer crashes.
I checked the disk for errors, and everything is OK.
I tried to permanently delete without moving to the trash, as I understand it the trash can sometimes accept very large files. I can highlight the file, but as soon as I click the button remove Ribbon, or right-click, or try to do something with it, Windows Explorer crashes again.
I have rather a small disc on this machine SSD, and I need this space to the rear...
Can't think of anything else to try...
    Best regards, K

Try to remove the file from a command prompt. You can shift right click a folder to see an option "open command window here", which will automatically open the command prompt in the appropriate folder. There is also an "open command prompt here" option on the file menu. If necessary, you can simply open a command prompt and use the cd command to go to the appropriate folder. (.. leave a folder, / to go to the root). Note that the led, remove and erase commands don't send files to trash either.

Another thing you can try is crushing the PDF file. Type something in a program that is able to save to PDF and try to save it on this PDF. Please tell me if you receive errors overwhelming, because they can help to find out what is the problem. If you have any program capable of PDF, simply typing things into Notepad and overwrite the PDF file with it. (in the Save in drop-down menu, you can select "all files")

The entry in NTFS, indicating the presence of this 14 GB file is maybe damaged. The disc may have recorded the location of the bad file, or the 14 GB file may not even be there. You can plan to run the chkdsk utility. It flows better in an administrator command prompt. If you are prompted to do so, you should probably run chkdsk /f. I don't know what the side effects might arise from running chkdsk on an SSD, so proceed at your own risk. (I tried to do a search, and all that I could find is that nothing else than / f should not be run on an SSD)

  • How to handle large files (3 gb +) in photoshop

I started the creation of 3 GB + files in photoshop CS2 and my computer takes 3 minutes to open and 10 minutes to record, etc. - drives me crazy with delays. My system (duo core 3,166 mhz, motherboard ASUS P5K SE/EPU, 4 GB Kingston DDR2 800 RAM, videocard Quadro FX540) is doing well with 300 MB of files, but not with them.

Recently I moved my OS to Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit in the hope that things would improve, but any change was marginal.

The files are designs multi-layer, 150 dpi, about 16 feet by 10 feet and 1.8 GB flattened when they are printed.

While I know that the designs are pushing the limits and restrictions of photoshop I would appreciate any opinions of members who have figured out how to handle large files. Any suggestions welcomed, if the upgrades of hardware/software, photoshop tips (but the dpi and size cannot be changed), etc.

CS2 works on Win7? You run in virtual XP mode?

I noticed that the flat size is 1.8 G are you save in tiff or psd? If tiff, move on to the DSP. Records room and should open more quickly. At least this is my experience.

  • How to move large files from backup of a disk to another drive

I have a very large backup file I want to go from a hot spare for the other. When I followed the instructions from Apple to copy with the finder, the operation fails after several hours. Is there a better way to move very large files?

Try using disk/restore to copy the backup to a new location. Please note that this will reformat the destination partition.

  • I got 'Firefox out of the html5 offline storage space' error message download large files

I got this message when I try to download a large file from a Web site, after a few GB have been downloaded.
The site is a "cloud storage" with their own method of downloading, so it's not an error in Firefox, but perhaps I can fix it through some configurations. I tried to change some words: the configuration settings, but it does not work.
Please, I need to know how to increase this space, or if there is a way to clear this cache without closing the browser (I see the partial file, I am downloading to grow up in a personal folder outside the temporary folders in Firefox, so I think that the cache is not necessary after all).
    Thanks in advance.

    See:

Firefox has no limit on the size of the IndexedDB database. The UI will just ask permission to store BLOBs larger than 50 MB. This quota of size can be customized through the dom.indexedDB.warningQuota preference

  • Time Capsule freezes when I'm downloading a large file!

    Hello everyone!

I have a very unpleasant problem with my Apple Time Capsule 2 TB 5th generation.

I have 2 Iphones, AppleTV and 2 Macs in my wifi network, everything works great! But when I download a large file with an Internet torrent falls after 10-15 minutes... a green LED shine on the Time Capsule, Airport utility tells that is connected to the internet, but not of my devices has the internet connection. It lasts 15 to 20 minutes and internet recovers by itself. Nothing really helps with this, I tried to restart, change the settings, but nothing helped.

WITNESS, no errors, once again, green is connected to the internet but no internet.

My cable modem works, if I connect my appleTV to the modem cable through the cable, it will be the connection. At the same time, if I connect my appleTV to the Capsule of time via the cable when it is frozen, appleTV won't have any connection.

The same story if I download to the hard drive of my Mac or time Capsule.

I have an idea that Time Capsule is overheating, but again, I don't see no error.

    I'd appreciate any help!

Torrents can overwhelm the NAT to a router table.

In the torrent client reduce the speed and the number of seeds.

Which modem cable do you have?

Looks like it's a gateway device not a pure modem so the TC may be in evil mode?

    Also, who is your ISP?

If they are moved to IPv6 which can also introduce issues.

  • format hard drive for windows and larger files, TV supports

    Hello

pls suggest me with the solution to the following problem.

I need to know what format of hard drive works with mac, windows, & TV too, even for large files and quality bluray movies

FAT32 only supports files up to a maximum size of 4 GB, which would be certainly much too small for Blu - Ray quality media.

exFAT supports files of unlimited size effectively, Mac and Windows can read and write to exFAT to format external drives but neither can boot from such a unit. If a TV or other system supports exFAT drives, you need to check yourself formatted.

NTFS supports files of unlimited size indeed, Mac can only read NTFS, it cannot format or write to NTFS, unless you get an add-on. Of course Windows supports NTFS. Again, you will need to check if your TV etc supports NTFS. If you want to add full support for NTFS to a Mac, I recommend this - https://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/

HFS + is the current format of Apple and new supports files of unlimited size effectively. Mac can of course read, write and format disks. Does not support the Windows as a standard HFS +, but still, you can buy an add-on for Windows Add this feature. It is extremely unlikely that a TV would support HFS +. If you want to add full support for HFS + for Windows, take a look at this - http://www.mediafour.com/software/macdrive/

There are also other formats of disc for example ZFS and BTRFS, Ext3, Ext4 and soon SATF, but in this case, they are not relevant.

Note: as indicated above, in many cases, I said 'actually unlimited', it is of course a limit, but one so great that he will strike you not for individual files, including Blu - Ray or even files UltraHD (4 k).

  • Large files of HDTracks no longer correspond to the import.

New file large songs/albums of HDTracks used for correspondence, but new additions no longer. ITunes will import and play, but they are not. I know files over 200 MB will not be transferred to iCloud, but they used to Match the iTunes versions.

The albums consisting of large files of M4a song used for correspondence when they are imported and those previously established correspondence are not matched, but new albums for the past 2-3 months no longer match when they are imported. "ICloud music library Update" seems to have no bearing on this.

The only work around I have found is a pain - I have to rip the HD to a CD album and then import that match CD, which creates duplicates that so successfully. I assume that this is because the file size is now less than 200 MB. So, while that gets songs paired and available on my other devices, I then two versions of each song on my computer for music, a quality HD and a quality one, CD which actually a pain to listen to the HD titles and manage music.

Why the change? Is there any solution for this?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Has there been a change? I can't say yes or no because I converted tracks using XLD ABA before adding them to iTunes. I use two libraries, a match that I use for my iPod / iPad, one for my HD and ALAC music I play through my stereo.

I think you answered this in your post in 2013 Re: why 88kHz/24 bit alac files ineligible to the upcoming game?

  • 3 GB MD033 Time Capsule data rate lowers up to 5 MB/s during the transfer of large files

    Hello, guys!

My MD033 (2011) / 3GB TimeCapsule lowers throughput for the disk transfers built up to 5 MB/s.

Is this a bug or feature?

This bug has been present for early 2013. Since then, I changed 2 iMac 27 and 1 iMac, retina. Traded my TC three times by Apple Care coverage. Change a cable connection from TC to iMac twice. Problem remains. A persisted on all platforms of Cougar to El Capitan.

Video which revealed a problem can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b3ve9w53ixru5rv/IMG_0700.MOV?dl=0

It ALWAYS happens. No exclusion. Sooner or later, transfer rate drops to 3-5 MB/s

NOTHING similar happens when I copy a large file to a PS located in the same network. 50 - 70 MB/s ever.

I just work on the same problem thread.

irregular flow oddly with two TCs problem

It starts fast and then slows down to a crawl.

I don't solve it on the other thread... so let me ask how much patience you have and the ability to diagnose network problems?

    I don't have a miracle solution... money.

(Actually a single shot of a 3030 fix it permanently..!)

If you are willing to continue what I'm happy to try...

NOTHING similar happens when I copy a large file to a PS located in the same network. 50 - 70 MB/s ever.

This indicates that the TC is not the question... It's the Mac that has problems. (PS = PlayStation?)

    In the Mac

    You must have OFF wireless.

It is better to use Configuration ethernet with link-local only for IPv6, except if you need full IPv6... Tell me if this is the case.

I do the same thing you are. But I can't reproduce your slowdown.

Open the activity monitor and track your use of the CPU. A single process hits 30% usage during playback... Therefore, it is quite high.

Also check the network. Read (green) and Write (red) make the perfect range scans.

I wonder if the TCP window is set incorrectly by default in your computers... I use a Mac Mini i7 with SSD is fast but 2011.

It is difficult while I can't reproduce the problem.
