  Hello

  I just bought Satellite U400-15B and am finding it takes very long to start Vista, I went into msconfig and disabled the things I don't use and stuff that I think is not necessary, but it is still having to wait ages before that I can use the laptop. I have enough RAM and processor speed, so I don't think that the specifications of the laptop are a problem

  Is there something that can be done on this slow start, any help would be appreciated.

  I think slow start or laptop slow operations depend on good configuration of the OS. I played with this last month and I am now convinced that Vista starts and runs on my laptop.

  As far as I know you can't buy replacement for a single key.
  What you can try is to put cheap keyboard. I saw today new keyboard for Satellite A300 for only 15 euro.

  The replacement of keyboard is not so complicated and you can do it alone.

  Had two problems with my U400-15B which I hope to solve.

  (1) the first problem is that I noticed that my internet sometimes seems to weigh on Internet Explorer, when using the Web site who have a couple of images e.t.c.
  It freezes but the rest of the laptop works very well - I want to say you can go to the start menu and other programs very well.   I recently bought my U400-15B and I am the only user of it.

  I recently tried to download software on CD-Rom, but I get a message every time I must have administrator rights to install the software and to log on as an administrator to do.
  I checked my account configuration and user that clearly states that I am the administrator!

• Dysfunction of the SHIFT key on Satellite U400-15B

  My laptop suddenly started to behave strangely. Pressing Shift left moves the cursor move to the left of the screen, while the right shift causes a jump at the end of the next line?
  This means that I can not tape anything without the text becomes jumbled, as words for one place end up at the beginning of a line, if they are capitalized.

  Did you check if your caps lock shift has not been activated?
  Try to use the FN + F10, Fn + F11 and FN + F12 key combination.

  Usually, I put my computers laptop back to factory after a few months. Usually short, faster and smoother and I store my music, videos, all on the external hard drive etc. HE made a copy of the recovery cd 2 theres, but I don't know how to reset to factory settings.

  Using the Toshiba Recovery disk is very easy! If you have created the disk you only at the start of the first. So go in the BIOS boot menu, and then select the CD/DVD drive where you entered the front disc.

  I upgraded my Vista Home Premium to WIndows 7 through the upgrade DVD Toshiba. I was just wondering, has anyone tried a clean install of Windows 7?

  My purpose, I would like to make a facility and have no record of my Vista install, so want to try 64 bit. I've downloaded all driver for Windows 7 32 & 64 bit in the section download Toshiba already. Y at - it a particular order, that they must do once Windows 7 is installed?

  Last week, I got my Windows 7 Upgrade DVD from Toshiba. I'm leaving has upgrade and after 5 hours, the upgrade was complete.
