Contribute CS4 Sloooooooooow

I tried to install, reinstall it on my computer (MacBook Pro, OS 10.5.5), another computer etc and nothing that I can solve my problem here: contribute (for a posting to a blog) is very, very slow. A backspace to remove a Word takes about a half a second with KeyPress. The same thing with the typing, the answer if very slow. I opened a case on it, but Adobe does not. The people of their tech in India don't know anything about the product. CS3, however, do not exhibit this behavior. It's something in CS4.

Short of a refund, what can I do else?

I installed a trial here on a laptop Core 2 Duo 2.6, apply the update (in the menu using Adobe Bridge, select "Update"), and it now seems to work as it should. I'll have to play with him for a while before again us to jump into this program. We used Ecto newsletter (blog), and even if not perfect, it has filled the void (to 6 times less cost practically the same thing.) One thing missing in Contribute, however, is the ability to set the blog as a project. Would be a great feature to add to the Contribute blog function...)

I think that Adobe is to acknowledge that we can not put it on a new program that doesn't work and then leave customers hanging for months before they fix it (my first post on this was on 29 November last year!) It seems several people here, including me, has requested a refund, and is the unnecessary loss of Adobe. During a call during this period would have been a long way it really seems that Adobe either care, put an end to the product, or that our concerns have been lost in the sea of technical glitches, among dozens of other programs. It gave me pause to consider all other Adobe products that we need at this time (we will hit the same wall again if these products have serious bugs?)

In any case... I am pleased to see that those of you who have been 'stuck' finally getting a solution. Best regards.

Mountain LION is not a platform support for Adobe Contribute CS4. The supported versions are recent 6.5 Adobe contribute and Adobe Contribute CS5. X.

As far as I KNOW, no version of Contribute is entirely compatible with the Mavericks or Yosemite.

  • Contribute CS4 reinstall - import the settings from the previous site

I reinstalled contribute CS4 Mac DVD after a disk crash.  I have a backup of machine full-time the previous disc. How to restore previous connection settings and website?  I am the administrator and want to be able to access all the Publisher and group settings previously configured.

I try to restore ~/Library/Adobe/Contribute CS4 which seems to contain my old site settings, but they do not appear in the new facility.

    Thank you

    Robert

    (1) stop to contribute

    (2) restore "~/Library/Adobe/Contribute CS4".

    (2) also restore «~/Library/Preferences/Adobe contribute 5 preferences»

Hope this has solved your problem.

  • Contribute CS4 takes forever to start

I recently installed Contribute CS4 and it takes forever to start, if it starts up at all (the small color wheel keeps spinning and spinning). Is this normal (I hope that no.. lol)? If this is not the case, what could be the problem and how can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

Please try to update to Contribute. You can use bridge to Contribute update. Simply run Bridge and then click on help-> updates. Then, install all updates in Contribute. This should help.

  • I DW CS4 - can I also Contribute CS4?

I built a site in Dreamweaver CS4.  The owner wants to change it and buy Contribute CS4.  Should I also own Contribute CS4 in order to administer the site, give the keys, model management, etc., or can I continue to do this in Dreamweaver, while it updates the site in Contribute CS4?

Waited a long while for a response to this question posted a month ago on the General discussion Forum.  Grateful for a response.  Thank you!!

Was just here to post a Question of my own and saw your post. I'm afraid, there is no way around having to use Contribute to administer the Web site. However, if you think that you'll just to have to do it once, you can download a trial version and do all your work in the 30 days before the trial.

  • Contribute CS4 it will work with Dreamweaver CS3?

Hi, I wanted to ask if anyone knows if Contribute CS4 will work with Dreamweaver CS3?

I take it for granted that it will, I have a mac and will create a website with Dreamweaver CS3 and while the customer who has a PC buy Contribute CS4, it will work fine or do I need to create the site with a PC?

Also contribute to CS4 works with models DW CS3.

  • Can I use contribute 6.5 or any other worm for Windows 8 OS?

I see versions of Contribute for Windows 7?

If you look through the forum Contribute you might find some useful info - there is one where someone was having trouble with this getting Contribute CS4 on Windows 8, but solved the problem.  You could even post your question here to see if a direct response is provided.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/community/contribute?view=discussions

Another thing you could do is download and install the trial version and see if it works without problem for you.  That should be done anyway, to avoid buying it until I know it will not work for you.

  • How update Contribute on OLD Mac

Have Contribute CS4 on my OLD Mac OS X 10.4.11.

Yahoo has updated something on FTP mode which does not allow me to use Contribute CS4 but I can't switch to CS6 using OS X 10.4.11 operating system.

Can I somehow the program on my new Mac or PC and still just spend $ 99?

If you have CS4, based on what I see in the pages of product on the Adobe site, you can upgrade to version 6.5.  You don't need to have installed to upgrade a product, you just need to have the serial number of the eligible previous version.

Then you should be able to install the new version on your new machine as long as it meets the requirements of software and then use your serial number older as part of the activation process when prompted.

  • CS4 Mac: insertion of PayPal buttons?

Hello.  I have a Mac user who needs to be able to create specific PayPal buttons for new events and update a web page with the new button, as the event is approaching.  Is this possible in Contribute CS4 Mac?  The user creates the PayPal button and cut-and-paste the code, or do it in CS4?  I've seen references to a WebAssist.com Toolbox, but it seems that the Toolbox requires Dreamweaver, that the user does not.

The user has currently Contribute 3 on Snow Leopard and it crashes, so I need to improve it soon.

    Thank you

    David

Yes, you need not to WebAssist.

Contribute uses the PayPal buttons which are created by WebAssist. In my view, this has been integrated with Contribute. Therefore, Contribute help may refer to WebAssist.

  • Contribute will not allow inserting pictures

I'm trying to insert a picture into a blog page. However, the only option that I am being authorized is to insert the picture from the Internet. "My computer" is grayed out.

I see that we get a lot of answers.

In Contribute CS4, menu items and other items in the toolbar will be activated only when these options are supported by blog servers.
Go to Contribute-> my connection, select the blog server and click Configure. You can see the open blog server configuration dialog box.
Click on the button Update supports for the latest support information.
In the list above, you can see all the items that are supported with a green check mark. So need to re-setup.
    Thank you.

Adobe products must be installed, not tranfsered to your new computer.

You must uninstall/undo something apple did with your adobe products, and you correctly install cs4.

Here's help to find your serial number: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html

If you are retired from your old computer (or, at least, is going to use cs4 on your old computer), you should disable cs4 (help > deactivate).
