  It is probably quite trivial, but for the life of me I can't find anywhere.

  I would like to change the duration of a static image playback - I import defined by default in 5seconds. I know that I can change it with the sliders, but that never seems to give me a quantity specified time trying to match multiple pictures. (think of a slideshow integrated in a video)

  Y at - it a trick somewhere? It's super duper easy at first, but they seem to have abandoned the service from what I can tell in PRE.

  By click-and - drag on either the head or tail of the still with the timeline zooms in, you have a specific edition. If you need to increase the duration of 3 images, just expand it by 3 ticks on the rule of the timeline. You can also view it in the Info Panel (it is a group that I use all the time).

  The change of setting to: Tools / Options /.
  Advanced... tab applies only to the added clips
  to the timeline * after * you change the setting.

  My question is: How can I do so a text animation brings the text and then allows the text to sit on the screen normally for awhile after that?  Currently, when I add a text animation, it insists on the extension of the duration of the clip as a whole, from beginning to end.  How can I limit the animation to, say, the first 2 seconds of text and then allow the text to sit normally for 8 seconds after that?

  You will need to create your own animation custom rather than using one of the presets.

  It's pretty simple, using animation keyframes for the motion effect. Just right click on the title on the timeline, select view properties, open the scenario of creating keyframes in the properties panel, and you can create an animation, you can dream!

  This was bugs me for a while and feel that there is probably an easy fix for this.

  When I drag and drop a file (image, video, etc.) in the project to the composition/timeline panel, AE automatically decides that the length of the file is that of the whole of the compositions. Much of the time I want this file to be only say 10 seconds long while the whole composition may be 60 years for a long time. I know that you can drag and drop the file into the current-time indicator, it will still be long in the 1960s in this case however. So I have to 'manually' cropping the length of the layer.

  Is there a shortcut keyboard or something you can do with markers to decide the length of the file/layer before/while drop you in the composition?

  Tried it, seems to work:

  • create a v_start user variable that will store the number of the first image
  • create an advanced action Start, which will be triggered upon entering the slide, with two instructions:
    • Affect of v_start with rdinfoCurrentFrame
    • Continue
      
  • create captions 5 text and make them invisible, I scored the TC_One, TC_Two, TC_Three, TC_Four, TC_Five; they must start over from the beginning of the slide and timed for 5secs
    
  • create 5 buttons, each of them will trigger a tip action
  • to create advanced actions one, two... Five to be triggered by buttons, with these statements (here One action example):
    • See the TC_One
    • Hide TC_Two
    • Hide TC_Three
    • Hide TC_Four
    • Hide TC_Five
    • Affect of rdcmndGotoFrame with v_start This will send the playback head to the first image, and the text caption will show 5 seconds

  Hi I have a mix of photos and video clips loaded into my Mac Adobe organizer of the external drive, where they show (on PC) in the correct order as, still images and videos mixed. After loading in the Organizer, and chronology in first 12 items, I select more "old first". But in the timeline, stills appear first in the correct order, then after that video clips, in the correct order in themselves. Is it possible to actually load everything in the right order, IE pictures and videos mixed. Thanks Chris

  Okay, I think I've found my mistake. Here's what I did:

  First, I tried to add a new column to the PICTURES table to store directly the subject of the photo :

  It worked.

  Then I set up a minimal example that compares the image 2 for the first 10 images of the PHOTOS table:

  It worked.

  Then I tried to replace p.phot_source2 by si_mkstillimage1 (p.phot_source.source.localdata) (causing the problem), and it worked too!

  Then I tried to change phot_id < 10 < 20 phot_id, and finally it failed.

  So I finally understand that I had null values in the column ORDImage ... that was causing the problem.

  Indeed the call to SI_StillImage() with a null parameter gives the error in the above program:

• Video culture for still images

  Is it possible to crop in a UNIQUE setting and keeping the culture as a still image?

  At this moment I have a film of a puppy.  When I select one image to crop the pup, the fixed image of the puppy does not stand still during video playback.

  Just play the video within the cropped shape.  How can I avoid this?

  I thought that the question was a bit different - ectobuilder wanted to make a movie, to extract an image fixed and just have the game yet.

  In this case, you just export a single still image and then use it as the source of a layer in your composition.

  I still recommend once it is better to work its way through the base materials first.
