Controlling animated GIF?

Hello

I have imported a GIF image animated in my project and I was wondering if there was a way to control its playback? I don't want it to play when he is in charge of the composition. I want to play when I tell him.

Thanks for your help.

Hey Adam, if you need to control the timeline of the animation, I would recommend this workflow to get an animation of EI on board:

(1) export sequence png from After Effects

(2) install the mxp for John Dunning FW-> edge export plugin (http://johndunning.com/fireworks/about/EdgeAnimate)

(3) create a document of multi-state LF with each of your png in a different State

(4) to export the animation of FW as a symbol of the Edge (you export as sequence spritesheet or png? Spritesheets requires less hits on the server, but if the spritesheet is too large, it will not be displayed on devices of low memory as iPad1, iPhone4. Png sequences took a lot of hits on the server, but if your animation is small, probably do not exceed the device memory)

(5) to import the new symbol in the edge (how: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O7WGFtmT58)

If you do not have a recent version of FW, you can manually set keyframes for the png sequence (new image each keyframe) or spritesheet (new position each keyframe). In this case, I'd probably run a setTimeout javascript timer, to change the values through code, rather than laboriously setting each keyframe on the timeline.

Here are the instructions of the post of John Dunning for the FW/Edge workflow:

Export animations as symbols of edge

In addition to the export of a Fireworks document as a side project, you can export a document multi-state as a symbol of edge animation. Animations can be exported as a single sprite image or a series of png.

When you run the edge animate > export as PNG Animation edge command, you will be asked to select a directory where the animation will be saved. Each State in the Fireworks document is then exported as a PNG 32-bit, as long as his include on export option is controlled. The png is added to a timeline, separated from the previous image by the delay time defined in the Fireworks States Panel. (To change the time, double-click the number to the right of the name of the State and find a delay of 1/100th of a second). The png and the script code are then grouped in a .ansym file, which is what Edge animate uses to store the external symbols.

The edge animate > export as Animation of the Sprite of edge command works in a similar way, but the animation frames are stacked horizontally in one large image. The picture is cut to show a single frame of the sprite width and its background-position property is animated to display one image at a time. The advantage of the export of sprite is that the animation is just an http request when the preload image, against one for each frame in the PNG export. But the very large images that are created may cause problems in some browsers.

Once the animation is exported, you can click on the + located in the section of symbols on the dashboard Panel animate library and select import symbols.... From the dialog box, select the .ansym file that you exported from Fireworks.

The closure of adjustment in the States Panel control the behavior of the exported animation. The default value is forever, but you can change it to one of the other options in the menu.

  • How can I control the gif animations?

    I have a project where I need some animations. The animations, that all have been created in After Effects. Now I can use png sequences, but these are very big and I need much the animations running on the same time. So I prefer to use gif animations. So my question: I can control when to play the animated gif but I can't play more than once. Is there a solution?

    Thanks for responding!

    Hello

    I see... you control when it displays. Technically, this is not the same thing that control the animated GIF; you just control when you see it. EA only recognizes GIF as image format and can not make the browser plays from the beginning as the first time that it is displayed or when it performs a back loop (if your animated looping GIF).

    However, you could do something similar with an additional image file or two, jQuery and css background-image "load" the GIF file into a transparent image. Here is a link to an example that always runs the GIF animated from the beginning:

    Thank you

    Have a look here.

    Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default programs, "Associate a type of file or Protocol with a program", the command on my machine the default program for .gif is Internet Explorer.  Which appear to indicate a page full of IE with an animated .gif, maybe you need a third party program to do what you want?

    Go to IE tools/internet options/advanced/multimedia. Make sure that the option to play the animations is turned on. If no joy, make sure that your connections are associated with Internet Explorer - if you click on a .gif file in windows Explorer, IE should open to view it.  Some security software can disable the animation.

  • Animated GIFs

    Hello

    I use three different GIFs to show the status of my program.
    The first is a gif of preloading, the second is visible until the process finished and the last to restore the original state.

    GIFs are loaded in an ImageView, the deadline for the next image is controlled by a chronology.

    My problem is that the GIF is not always at the same speed. The gif plays sometimes faster and so there is a gap with the animated GIF next.

    Any ideas why this happens?
    Do I have to use another component to load GIF or is there a possibility to control how fast the animation plays?

    Thanks in advance!

    Don't use a gif, use a sprite like Phil animation.

  • How to export a flash movie into an animated gif with transparent background?

    each export was really into it.

    I looked under the publication for gif but no option there, or in the color setting in the main design window has any setting Alpha or transparency.

    Thought that the problem has disappeared. The only solution I found was to export a PNG sequence with transparency, import all back in a best animated GIF exporter like Fireworks as a sequence of images and exporting from there once again. It will give you the best quality, control over the timeline, closure and various image by image of the AGIF features.

    But yes, it's a headache for several stage.

  • Importing animations gif in 12 items on Mac

    OK, I searched widely for a specific response and precise and am not

    clear for the conflicting answers that I met.  Namely: I bought 2 items
    for a PC several years ago. He had two interesting features for my pleasure to make .gif animations.
    (1) it allowed me to import the .gif animations AND all the layers.  (2) it allowed me to control

    the speed when I did my own animations and saved in the .gif format.

    However, when I bought Elements 8 for my iMac, I discovered that I could not load .gif animations

    and download images/layers, or if I could choose any speed sauf.2.

    OK, here's my question: if I order 12 items to work on my iMac (OS X 10.9.2)

    It will allow me to load animation .gif together and show the images/layers, AND it will allow me

    When you save a .gif animation to set my own speed.

    I don't know if I record an animation in .psd format which I can reload, showing the layers.  This is not

    what I want to do.  I want to save in .gif format and load in .gif format.  Thank you!

    You don't need to uninstall. Simply enter the serial number of the drive, after purchase and the trial becomes permanent.

  • an animated gif which plays on all devices

    Hello again on gifs...

    I'm in PS CS4 on XP.

    I created an animated gif. I was wondering if there was a way to make it work on all devices. Phones, MP3 players, computers (mac and pc)... etc...

    It looks great on my computer at work and at home, but not on my iPod. He doesn't play or show on my iPod. My boss checked on his computer says you must click on the image for him to play (but I don't have to do). He did not work on his BlackBerry either.

    I was wondering if there is some way out of here the gif can work on all devices, because it will be sent to a few people.

    In my view, that there is a device central within the program, but not sure on this subject. There seems to be a lot of guys here, but I don't see BlackBerry? I'll check again. In the meantime, I thought I'd write this upward to see if there was a response.

    Thank you.

    Well, according to your own words, it already works on all devices, because they show. The rest is not really relevant. If the browsers read and display animation or not is nothing that you can control your side of things. Because play animation means refreshes additional and therefore consumption of processor power, several times it will just removed or disabled, which is entirely the display device / browser...

  • How to make animated gifs to work in FCPX?

    Hello

    How to make animated gifs to work in FCPX?

    They work in FCP7 (FCS) but not FCPX. Strange.

    Elmer

    If you had FCP7, you have Quicktime 7 Pro (upgraded automatically at installation FCP7). Check your Applications > Utilities folder.

    Open the gif in QT7 and export as... (Sequence Quicktime Movie > Open Options)... might as well go with ProRes LT and make sure that you pay attention to the size option (select current if the original is 100%).

    An animated gif file can be inserted into an e-mail? It's something that worked when I was using Outlook 2003, but does not work in Outlook 2010. Thunderbird allows a fully animated gif file in an email, or only as an attachment >

    It is animated by the recipient; Save as draft or see envoys.

    It happens even with the download of the gif, only the first image is uploaded so that the image is not as lively.

  • Firefox slows down when opening a site with animated gifs

    After FF4 update, I find that whenever I try to open a page that has several on this animated gifs, firefox slows down a lot. The CPU usage goes up to 50-75% and all animated gifs are moving really slow.

    It is not only large animated gifs, but it occurs also on the forums that have animated smileys. I never had this problem in FF 3.6 neither another browser (IE, Chrome, Safari). If I start FF4.0 without modules or plugins it does the same thing. Even with a new facility. Does anyone have a solution to his problem? Since I can't use some of my favorite now with FF sites, without my pc slow everything down.

    Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the Add-ons is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).

    • Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

    Safe mode disables extensions in Firefox 4, and disables hardware acceleration.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.
  • Animated GIF causes popup to hang?

    Hello:

    We started to use animated GIFs strongly in popups Teststand for about a year and a half. As we used this feature, we have had reports more and more Teststand suspended after acknowledging the popups.

    The problem is very intermittent. But it is reproducible. See the attached files. Sequence is call a popup not modal teststand again and again that displays an animated image. The popup is set to timeout after a second (just for the convenience to reproduce the problem). The sequence always crashes in minutes. Behavior is the same in the editor of sequence or the user interface of the CVI. If the sequence changes so that no image is displayed by the popup, the sequence does not crash.

    We use Teststand 4.0.1f1. I would like to know how to solve this, because it is quite a major problem with us.

    Thank you

    Dave

    Dave-

    Wanted to just call with you on this issue. LabWindows/CVI 9.0.1 was released and its runtime engine resolves the deadlock problem that have seen you. So to avoid blocking on a system, you just install the new version of the RTE located in the: http://ftp.ni.com/support/softlib/labwindows/cvi/Run-Time%20Engines/9.0.1/NILWCVIRTE90.exe. You may need to restart your system after the installation.

  • animated GIF not showing do not adequately

    I have an animated gif image, and I used http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/Display-an-animated-GIF/ta-p/445014 this link to animate the noise towards the top of the screen and that did not work properly

    You can see the animation below

    public class UpdatePopScreen extends PopupScreen{

            public UpdatePopScreen(){
                 super(new VerticalFieldManager(), Screen.DEFAULT_CLOSE);

                 GIFEncodedImage ourAnimation = (GIFEncodedImage) GIFEncodedImage.getEncodedImageResource("sunblackk.gif");
                AnimatedGIFField _ourAnimation = new AnimatedGIFField(ourAnimation, Field.FIELD_HCENTER);

                this.add(_ourAnimation);
               add(new LabelField("Loading..."));

        }

        }

    and I have attached AnimatedGIFField.java

    I think something is wrong in your establishment or the way you use this code, because it works very well for me.  Sorry you'll have to do investigative work to identify the problem.

    I suspect there are two possibilities:

    (a) you have not configured your environment properly

    (b) you use something else keeps track of events

    I think that (b) is the most likely, but to test these two at the same time, you must proceed as follows:

    Create a new project and a new example application, then, in this application, test the screen.  Nothing else in this project - it should start just a screen, the screen should have a button, when you click the button the treatment should push the pop-up screen.

    I have included my code (which combines Animation and popup screen into one file - not recommended but useful source under test).  Use this code and the image as an attachment in your new project.

    Test it on your Simulator.

    Assuming that you can get this working, then we can investigate on what is actually wrong in your application.

  • Export the animated GIF on MAC

    Hello beautiful people of the internet!

    I have a small question: I always use first Pro CS6 and not the CC on my Mac version... is there a reason for me to upgrade if I want to export GIF animations faster... or is there a solution how to activate the file > load > media > animated GIF on mac?

    Unfortunately, to make a GIF animation on mac, you have to do some extra steps using Photoshop or other software that you're not supposed to do on Windows...

    On Windows first Pro CS6 supports export region selected as witch GIF animated unfortunately not the case for mac...

    Sorry to be redundant but my question is - is there a possible way to activate the function "export to animated gif" on Mac? or he did appear in later versions of first CC?

    Sincerely yours.

    Kami Inari

    Alas, export of gif is windows only.

    Workaround: Animated gif selection does not appear in the menu "output" first Pro CC?
