controlling the labview Tera term

Hi guys

In my new project, I want to send commands to the Pro Tera term. Tera term then meets Labview controls the same way that I must type commands directly in Tera term.

I'm able to use cmd.exe with the Vi SystemExecute, but my program, I would like to do the same thing with the Tera term.

I would like to send commands with a stringcontrol and get the answer in an indicator of the string, in labview. Tera term should run unseen in the background.

So for that, I thought using ActiveX would be the best. I downloaded tera term pro.

In Labview, I create it from the Palette of ActiveX and select Browse on the ActiveX class.

:

I find many .dll in the Tera Term folder:

I tried to open them all, but I get this message:

:

It is impossible to use the term of Tera with Labview as I described what it means?

I'm not so familiar with ActiveX, only with Excel (which is in the ActiveX class list), so I might have missed something.

My goal was to create a subvi, making communication with the Tera term, similarly systemexecute VI is built.

Kind regards

Even

Before you search around the forum, open LabVIEW and select help > search examples. Do a search for 'series '. There are a few examples. Try these first. They are not the most sophisticated, but should help you get started.

  • Can I remotely from a computer that does not have control with LabVIEW?

Hi, I have a PC at work that has LabVIEW (LV) installed, and I order several machines using a GPIB/USB interface. I would like to be able to control them remotely, at home, so I can start new experiences without having to enter in my lab. However, my PC at home isn't LV what are my options to achieve this?

The most obvious solution is to use a software that allows me to remotely control the PC of my work, and then do that. However, it would be nice if there is an easy way to interface directly with LV. For example, something where he would create the VI as a Web page, and then I could see it in my browser to home or something. Is there something like this?

What are my options to control everything from home, without LV on my PC at home?

If "at work" is a reasonable society, there will be a firewall and it would be difficult to do anything without their approval. Connections to the internal network from external random places are usually blocked for good reasons. Talk to your first COMPUTER service.

Assuming that you can connect to the remote computer, you can start reading here. Be aware that several modern browser (e.g. Chrome) is no longer support or allow NPAPI plugins, then your choice of browser style are limited.

A better choice is direct on the remote control. This allows you to fully control the LabVIEW application, start it even if it is not active, loading/saving files, etc.

I generally use Chrome remote desktop. I can connect to one of my computers from anywhere, even if both computers are located on networks private behind a NAT or firewall. Works great!

  • The movement of my robot can be controlled by the entry of a camera control in labview?

I'm new to mindstorms and I'm trying to interface a camera that I can easily control in Labview with the NXT unit movement.  I want this to be real time.  What is the best way to get Labview to send commands that get immediately updates implemented by unity NXT?  Thank you.

  • Change the language of the LabView controls?

I just need confirmation. If LabView controls, as a graph, have a context menu, then this menu will be first in the language of the LabView IDE, it is used with. If I create a new application, then the manufacturer includes the LabView RTE. It will also be the same language as the IDE version.

Now, if I wanted to change the language of the context menu we will say to the french, it would be sufficient for the user has just installed a version in french of the RTE? Is this correct?

    AJMAL says:
    This will be useful?

Yes, thanks. Another regional setting of RTE would replace the one we provide in our Installer and then the user would have the menu in its language. Very well!

  • How can I use a front access and the access key to control the Boolean LabView shared variable?

My company has invested a lot of money on the desk to write a lot of many access databases and front-end network. I'm looking for a way to link a button on a front-end access to switch a shared Boolean variable of LabView to warn me when they changed something on their side of the network. I don't see everything that contributes to a search web or forum. They dislike the idea of control separate labview they need to rely on a button to let me know.

    Thank you

Alternatively, if all you care about, is that something in the MDB file has changed, you could do something simple like I LV to check the date of modification of the file to edit.

  • Cannot control the color sensor in LabView for Mindstorms

    Hello!  New here.

I'm currently boning on LabView via 'LabView for Lego Mindstorms' for a possible job in the near future, and I encountered a problem from the beginning.

I am programming my brick Lego of LabView to simply activate the color sensor which is quite easy: I'm building a while loop and inside I have a block of color sensor attached to a block of text that displays the light intensity of the probe in the text on the brick.  I compile and run the detector turns on and I can read the intensity constantly updated on the brick.  This part works fine.  I would now like to control the light sensor (that doubles as a light source with color LEDs) on the front of the LV Panel.  The book I'm using (LabView for Lego Minstorms) says I should block sensor on the entry "generate light' do right click and choose"Create--> Control"in the menu that appears.  A Boolean command button should appear connected to the sensor block in the block Panel and a push button should appear in the front panel.  This is not what is happening.  Here, the two things are different.

    (1) I have no port "generate light" click on right-click.  This is probably using a version more day of Mindstorms that uses of the book.  It's a matter of book/Mindstorms, which probably cannot be resolved here but I hope that the next issue of problems will make it irrelevant.

    (2) I right click and create the control, but rather than create a Boolean command button as the book predicts, it creates an icon "BrickReference.lvclass".  He connects very well with the light sensor and a corresponding block is created in the front panel, but it is a paper weight that I can tell.  I can't do anything with it.  There are no buttons to push, no slider, button, button radio etc and I can't seem to change into something that somehow work.  I have delete and don't create a no kidding Boolean button from the library, but it does not connect to the photoelectric cell and so I can not compile.  So now, I'm a little stuck.

I searched "Reference of the brick" online in the context of LabView class and have found little or nothing that talks about its definition or how I can use it to control the light via the front panel sensor.  Help with the software section is not much help, and yet I'm sure there must be a way to control a simple Lego light sensor of the façade for debugging purposes and others.

If you know what I'm doing wrong or if you know a finish around this issue that will allow me to control a Mindstorms brick from the front in this way, please let me know.

    Thank you!

Try to post in the forum of Lego.

  • How to change Teststand UI controls in the Labview example

    Hello community,

    32-bit Teststand 2014

    32-bit Labview 2015

I'm trying to make changes to the provided Simple Interface for Teststand in Labview called first level VI.vi.

I want to be able to make changes to the Teststand UI controls and have a difficult time.

However, I found the brower property for buttons, I can make some changes in the style of text.

There are a few buttons I disable and came across this link for help, but I did not fully understand it.

I tried to use 'Ungroup by name' and 'node to invoke. However, I don't think that I did it correctly.

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/WebSearch/3FE78CAEC4AD770286256E9100090900?OpenDocument

Then I tried to rename the buttons and came across this link.

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/WebSearch/530118071CD7E3B686256E89007BB16D?OpenDocument

Also, while looking at examples of labview for teststand I noticed that it is possible to go for regular control of labview Teststand UI control. Is it interesting to watch in place?

I want to make the interface better watch and not be able to make changes for the control of teststand UI holding me.

Any help or examples on how to make changes to a teststand UI control would be greatly appreciated please.

    Thank you

These buttons are buttons of ActiveX.

To change their properties, right-click on it and select property browser...

Please note that the TestStand has.  Changes may be overwritten by TestStand during execution.

If you use a LabVIEW native button, you can use the method of the ActiveX button => don't click to start the sequence when your button is clicked.

However, you have to take care of the other properties (such as devil when start run sequence) of your button yourself.

  • How to control the controller esp 301 through labview

    Hello world

I'm new to Labview. I'm trying to connect ESP 301 controller of Newport to the labview and control. But I could not find the drivers for it online. How do I connect it and use.

I intend to use it with a USB connection.

Could you please help me in this regard.

It seems from the website of newport to the 301 ESP the device has an extensive library of LabVIEW drivers. These drivers are located on their FTP site at the following location.

    FTP://download.Newport.com/MotionControl/current/MotionControllers/ESP301/software/

These drivers are developed by NewPort and should provide the necessary to communicate with the device interface. The commands that can be sent using these drivers should be available in the manual for the device.

  • How to use Labview to control the motorized turntable?

    Hello

I am new to Labview and do a project that requires the use of labview to control the motorized turntable (XYZ axes). I need to use the Labview programming and have no idea at all. Need help, thank you very much!

    Lei,

Everything said by others is correct and to do because they describe, at a given time. But I always approached these projects of motion control first by looking at the 'motion controller' (I hope you have a) and 'drivers' (what you need) between the computer/LabVIEW and engines decide what communications will be required for these devices and get an idea of the syntax of command and the language to use with them.  In some cases, the controller and the motor driver are integrated in a single unit. Heck, in some cases, they are even integrated with each engine.

The motors can be the stepper motors or perhaps servomotors.

In the case of drivers stepper (devices that provide power electronics to run the engines), many of them are run using only two control signals for digital called 'step' (a pulse train) and 'direction' (high-low level) and if it is possible to generate directly with the PC, it's an order of magnitude easier (if you have not already a library of available motion control to manage the generation of these signals and) the execution of the stepper motors) of having a "Motion Controller" between the PC and the "motor".  Engine drivers step by step usually can be configured that current engine and the size of the stage and sometimes for the other plus-moteur/driver-parameter setting. The configuration of these can be made with jumpers, switches or, for some drivers, with orders ASCII on some sort of port of communication, but in general these are values you download the installer once at the beginning and then never touch again if you do not need generally to have a full time available on their change communication path.

In the case of the actuator drivers (once again the devices that provide power electronics to run the engines), many use a +/-10V control input analog signal, and, again, while it is possible to generate the signal directly with the PC hardware, a separate axes controller is usually much simpler and more robust.  In the case of a servo system, there is also a signal back to an encoder or resolver attached to the engine to be used by any device will exercise the motion controller in the system.  There are once again associated with the driver configuration parameters (and controller in this case, since it is part of the servo feedback loop) which must be configured at the start but once set up properly, they rarely need to be changed again.

A movement controller which is separated from the PC often manage several drivers, and can often coordinate a movement between them. It will load the rise up/down of the engine speed as that changes. It will be followed by position of each motor. The servo system, but it will take the feedback signal and use it to adjust the speed/position/torque of the engine. The motion controller also deal with race and home or index of signals is usually on most lines of movement and provide information of the State of the switch to the PC.   To run the motor controller is then just a matter of chaining a set commands of (usually ASCII) to indicate how fast to run and how far to go (and direction) and by sending a command "do it." Then, ask you to keep track of the status of the process and the States of the switches.

In many cases the builders of controllers of movement are a primitive way to communicate with the controllers of a PC with no additional software other than what they offer. With this you can at least have an idea of how different the controller commands and responses they produce. That you can start to build sequences of commands to perform the actions you want.

You can then add LabVIEW to the mix and to understand how you can get it to send sequences of similar orders on the paths of communication that are available and respond intelligently to the information it receives in return for motion control.

  • I want to control the speed and direction of a motor continuous using labview with pwm

I want to control the speed and direction of a motor (essentially a toy motor) continuous generating a PWM signal in labview. I'm using L293d motor and exit DAQ-9472. Can I do this without the help of any microcontroller but only a simple labview code and the DAQ 9472 output

There are many examples on how to generate a PWM on one in the buffer, or on a counter, but that does not support this card.  A 8 a cDAQ chassis also a BNC connector that can be used as a counter as well.  These examples can be found in help > example Finder in LabVIEW.

Also be aware of your current limiting.  This card can drive a decent amount of current, but it has its limits.  You'll want to put an inline meter to see what is current and see how far you get to it.

  • Controlling the STDIN STDOUT of a legacy in LabVIEW application

I have a legacy DOS base program that runs in a command line interface in Windows.  Normal use which is a type of operator in a command, look at the result, then type in another command based on the results.  I need launch this application, KEEP IT OPEN and send/receive orders from certain TIME CMD line Interface IT IS ALWAYS OPEN.

Because I need to open this program, I can't use normal Exec.vi system that allows a single STDIN/STDOUT.

Has anyone else done this?  I heard that it is possible using PERL, but I'm doing it in native LabVIEW, if possible.

Under Linux, you can use the LabVIEW VIs hose supplied with. For Windows, you can try the OpenG Pipe library.

WARNING: Only library Pipe works for me but it is not fully debugged software, so beware when using it in a production environment.

To install the attached package you prefer using the Manager of Package of VI.
